A Whole Lotta Waiting Part 1
"Last time, on the Ridonculous Race…" narrated Don,
Scenes show the teams' jet taking off from Nice Airport and landing at Rankin Inlet Airport, followed by teams arriving at a nickel mine, teams working on the mining All-In, and teammates botching in the Botch-or-Watch on the icy seaside of Hudson Bay.
"Our teams swapped warmth for the cold, as they embraced the chilly weather of Rankin Inlet, where they dimed for nickel, and then hit the ice on Hudson Bay."
Scenes show Rodney falling in love with Courtney, followed by his messed-up break up with Mitzy.
"Rodney's heart has set eyes on the Unlikely Best Friends' Courtney, which caused him to break up with his not-girlfriend, Mitzy."
Scenes show Carla throwing fits during the leg, followed by Terrence finally snapping at her.
"Speaking of break ups, Carla's red hot temper was finally enough to burst Terrence's bubble, where he unleashed some very harsh truths towards her…"
Scenes show the Bullies getting the Zip-It ticket at the airport exit, followed by Lance performing the Botch-or-Watch, and him and Molly arriving at the Chill Zone first.
"My least favorite team, the Bullies, have somehow managed to push my hatred even further by making it first to the Chill Zone…"
Scenes show the Moms helping the Brothers with their problem at the mines, followed by them discovering that their sack of nickel had been stolen, followed by them arriving at the Chill Zone last.
"The Stay-at-Home Moms were too easy for the Brothers' innocent manipulations for help, and they paid the price by getting cut, falling from grace after an early streak of good luck and power."
The scene shows Don, who was right beside Inukshuk again. It is early morning.
"Who will fall from grace by the end of today? Find out right now! This is… The Ridonculous Race 2.0!"
*INTRO*
At Inukshuk, Don walked over to the Don Box. Walking towards the Don Box from the opposite direction were the Bullies.
"We're back in Rankin Inlet!" Don narrated, "Yesterday's winners, the Bullies, are the first to embark on their next leg!"
*CON: Lance & Molly - Bullies*
"The game's a piece of cake for us." said Lance, "We have the Brothers on our side, and they've shown us the tools and methods we can use to sabotage!"
"The other teams will be out of here in no time!" agreed Molly, "They'll be begging on our knees for mercy, but it's not like we'll show em any!"
*END CON: Lance & Molly - Bullies*
Molly pressed on the Don Box button, and a tip came out of its mouth. Reading the tip, she looked confused, "An Optional? 'Mo Money, No Problem?'" She turned to Don, "What the heck does that even mean?"
"I'll tell you…" Don said…
The camera transitions to Don, who was in the center of Rankin Inlet, with a few local people behind him…
"An Optional is a NEW mechanic of challenges; hence the name, teams have the option of heading to the center of Rankin Inlet, and entertaining a group of locals," he gestured to the locals behind him, "To get…" Don holds up a gold and blue token that has the 'RR' initials, "A Ridonculous token! Until they are eliminated, or near the end of the race, they have to use this token for travel needs; whether it is first class seats on a plane, or a vehicular bypass where they don't have to travel through using the required vehicles from and to places. They can either use it now, or later. However, there's a bunch of catches! Only five teams per leg are permitted for the Optional, and Optionals come with a time limit that tells them how long they have until the challenge is up! And teams can only perform for an Optional twice! On top of that, this is one of the three times this mechanic is used! And while this isn't a hard challenge, each team who performs that task is required to head back to the Don Box, either when they have completed the task, or when time is up!"
Back at the Don Box, Lance and Molly looked at each other. "So what's it gonna be?" asked Lance.
"I say let's do it!" said Molly, "We're doing the Optional!" She and Lance scurried to go to the taxi.
Next up were Willis and Fredrik. "Okay…" Willis said, as he and his partner had heard the whole thing, "What's the alternative?" He pressed the Don Box.
Fredrik took the tip and read, "We're going to make a pit stop in Edmonton, before the real action…"
"Pardon?" asked Willis.
The scene transitions to the outlook of Edmonton International Airport.
"This isn't the destination teams will go to, but it does have a twist!" Don narrated, "All teams are required to make it by jet and see what their twist will be…"
"C'mon!" said Fredrik, "We can do this, even without the Optional!"
"No kidding!" said Willis, as both hockey players took off.
The Brothers smirked at each other, walking up to the Don Box. "What do you say, Al?" asked Jose, "Should we try this new challenge?"
Alejandro rolled his eyes after being called 'Al' yet again, "Sure, sure…" he said, "Let's do it and then we'll show them how soulful we are…"
Jose was seen holding the bongos he and Alejandro won back in Dakar, "Absolutely! Andale, now! We don't have time to waste!" He and his brother took off.
There was a montage of teams agreeing that they shouldn't take the Optional, while there were some teams (Jocks, Pizza Sisters, and Unlikely Best Friends) signing up to head for the Optional challenge.
The scene changes to the center of Rankin Inlet, where the Brothers made it ahead of the Bullies. Stopping ahead, they looked around, confused.
Don appears in front of them, "Teams who are doing the Optional are tasked with entertaining," he gestured to the crowd from earlier, "This crowd right behind! They can sing, dance, belch the ABC's, whatever… as long as they are not making any physical contact of any kind towards them! Their goal is to entertain the entire crowd. Teams will take turns performing the Optional. They only have one hour to complete the task. If they fail to make it, they have to go back in line and wait for the other team to finish their part. But if they win the crowd, they are given the Ridonculous token." He turned to the other teams, "Good luck."
Jose held out bongos to his brother, "Al…" he said, "Care to do the honors?"
Alejandro rolled his eyes, "Sure. What will the act be?"
"Just make a beat, and I'll surely dance to it." said Jose, walking to a position between his brother and the crowd. He turned to the group of people, "I hope you're ready for some quality dancing…"
Jose stared at Alejandro and signalled him to start playing the bongos.
As Alejandro was playing them, Jose started dancing. However, he noticed that his brother's bongo-playing skills were rather… slow. He mouthed 'faster' to him.
Alejandro played his bongos faster, but that still wasn't enough. Jose mouthed 'faster' again.
Alejandro started playing the bongos much faster, and pretty soon, Jose was breaking down, dancing on the floor. He was backflipping, jump-spinning, and cartwheeling like crazy. The locals, and even some of the other teams behind, were astonished to see him go through many limits while his brother was playing bongos at rapid fire.
Eventually, the dancing died down, and the locals erupted in cheers. The head local came up to the Brothers and gave them a Ridonculous token.
*CON: Alejandro & Jose - Brothers*
"It was pretty easy." said Jose, "A fast beat from a drum or a bongo can equal an explosive dance! Glad that our prize from Dakar is paying off."
"Exactly!" nodded Alejandro.
Jose let out a haughty laugh, "Silly Al…" he taunted, "Your bongo-playing skills were lacking, I had to tell you to keep up with me. Even if I switch roles with you, you'd still fall flat on your face when dancing!" Alejandro growled at his brother yet again.
*END CON: Alejandro & Jose - Brothers*
As the Brothers took off back to Inukshuk to get a tip to their next whereabouts, the Bullies, Pizza Sisters, Unlikely Best Friends, and Jocks looked at each other, then glared at each other, determined to get the next Ridonculous token.
Tyler and Oscar were up next, standing in front of the crowd.
"No pressure, dudes…" said Lance, "Noooo pressure!"
Tyler turned to the male bully, "We don't need any encouragement from you!"
Courtney folded her arms, "What can Tyler even do? He'd be toast if my team had allowed him in the talent contest in Island…" she remarked.
Oscar turned to a stereo, "Hit it!" he yelled.
The stereo started playing, and both Jocks started dancing to electronic music. Oscar was in a beat, while Tyler was looking at him, trying to mimic what he was doing. The group was noticing this, and they weren't too proud of them.
Suddenly, Tyler trips on his feet and falls onto the floor. "Ouch…" he groaned, causing some locals to wince, seeing his misfortune.
The head local put a thumbs down, signifying the Jocks were not getting a token.
Don appears out of nowhere again, "Of course, if they don't feel like doing the challenge again, they can opt out and return back to the Don Box…"
"Eh, no problem…" said Oscar, "Why don't we just skip the Optional and go join the rest?"
Tyler stood up, patting himself, "No way, man!" he complained, "I just want to get something like a first-class seat, something that'll make you and I feel awesome!" He started walking to the back of the line, "We're going again!"
Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head. This did not go unnoticed by Lance or Molly.
*CON: Lance & Molly - Bullies*
"I'm noticing Oscar is feeling embarrassed being seen around his little buddy…" said Lance, "Wonder how major it'll be if… we get some talk about him…"
"Definitely…" said Molly.
*END CON: Lance & Molly - Bullies*
There was a montage of the four teams trying (and failing to wow the crowd). Later, it shows the Bullies…
"Okay…" said Lance, "Third time's gotta be a charm, man."
Molly grabbed a few snowballs, then threw them towards Lance, who promptly juggled them. The locals saw in awe.
Meanwhile, the female bully smirked at the camera as she presented a blood orange, "I saved breakfast for him…" Peeling the orange, she threw slices to her partner, who saw and ate them, all while he was still juggling.
The locals were heard cheering, as the head local went up to Molly and gave her a Ridonculous token. She and Lance cheered, but Lance threw his snowballs up high.
He stopped cheering and looked around, "Where'd they go?" he asked. A few seconds later, the snowballs fell onto the top of Gwen's head. Noticing them, the Bullies snickered at her misfortune, with Gwen glaring at them.
"With two teams each getting a token…" Don narrated…
The camera shows Rankin Inlet Airport, with the rest of the teams waiting around. A clock was counting down; the time was 1:29:09 hours.
"We see our teams waiting for them to show up…"
Teams were anxious about heading to Edmonton, but they couldn't go without the rest of the teams in the Optional.
"What the hell is taking them so long?!" cried an angry Wyvern.
"I know!" agreed Katie, "Is there even a point to doing an Optional, or whatever that's supposed to be called?!"
The Brothers suddenly arrive at the terminal, with them going up to a flight attendant.
"Good morning, good woman…" said Alejandro, "Would you care to give us first-class seats for the flight to Edmonton?" He held out the Ridonculous token.
"Sure thing!" said the attendant, exchanging the token for two first-class seats. "Here you go!"
"Gracias amigo!" said Alejandro, "Much appreciated…" He and Jose left to go seat themselves somewhere near the windows.
Meanwhile, the Pizza Sisters and Unlikely Best Friends had already given up on the Optional, while the Jocks were still working their way to get a Ridonculous token.
Oscar was still wondering why Tyler was still bent on doing the Optional, "The other teams are gone… What's the point in doing this?"
"Don't worry!" Tyler turned to them, "We can do this! We're just getting there, it's only a matter of time!" He signalled someone offscreen to play music on the stereo again.
As soon as the music was starting to play, both Jocks started dancing again. The locals saw this probably seven times already, as they were already bored of their act. They were expecting the obvious that Tyler would flub up then and now.
However, Tyler, who was still mimicking his partner's dance moves, tripped and fell. But instead of giving up then and there, he started dancing and spinning on the floor, shocking everyone. Even Oscar was shocked.
Tyler bounced down and up, before backflipping and going through his own motion with the dancing. Oscar didn't make any hesitation to stop, as he was still in his own groove.
Eventually, Tyler did a front flip, and did a wicked split on his legs. A crack sound was heard, indicating that he might've hurt something. The locals and Oscar looked on in shock.
However, Tyler looked up and waved his hands in the air, victoriously. "We rule!" he cried out, victoriously, but his voice was indicating that he was still hurt. The locals were heard cheering for his moves.
The head local went up to Oscar and gave him a Ridonculous token.
*CON: Tyler & Oscar - Jocks*
"Well, that was pretty lucky." said Oscar, as Tyler was seen nursing his crotch area with an ice pack. Oscar turned to his partner, "You did a great job dancing differently from what I did, man, especially when you went into improvisation mode when you fell…"
"Yeah…" chuckled Tyler, who was still hurting, "That felt pretty… extreme."
*END CON: Tyler & Oscar - Jocks*
At Rankin Inlet airport, the Bullies had already exchanged their Ridonculous token for first class seats, just as the Jocks ran in to the flight attendant to exchange their token.
"Alright!" said Tyler, "We're ready for the flight!"
"Are you trying to get first class tickets to the flight to Edmonton?" asked the flight attendant, "With a Ridonculous token?"
"Uh…" Tyler tried to say, "Yeah… we finally got one. Why?"
"Well, I'm afraid that the seats have been sold out…" said the flight attendant, "Another team had already taken them and a few other passengers had already purchased them."
"Aww…" Tyler looked down, upset.
Oscar turned to his jock partner, "Hey, man. We'll take one next time. I mean, Don did say we could use it any time we wanted to." Tyler nodded.
Wyvern walked up to the Jocks. "Perfect. Now that we're here, can we finally go now?"
"Yes you may!" Don narrated, causing the Jocks, Wyvern, and the flight attendant to gasp, as they could 'hear' his voice.
The next scene shows everyone on the plane, finally flying from Rankin Inlet to Edmonton. "With all teams at the airport, they are finally heading to their next destination!"
Mid-flight, the Brothers and Bullies were enjoying their first-class flight. The Bullies turned to the Brothers.
"So…" said Molly, "Any team in particular we need to end?"
The Bullies look up from their seats to face the Bullies. "Well… let's just say that we found out that Oscar has some issues with Tyler…" said Alejandro.
"Really? What kind?" asked Molly.
"He doesn't think Tyler's the best jock out there…" said Alejandro, "And I think it would be nice for him to have a wake-up call…"
"So we just tell him what Oscar thinks?" suggested Lance.
The Brothers shake their heads, "Not really…" Alejandro stated, "We were thinking about bending the poor sap's mind into blabbing."
The Bullies look at each other, smirking at each other. "Great." said Molly, "Whatever offer you have for us, we won't refuse!"
"Perfection…" said Jose, "Then so be it! One of us'll mess with Oscar's minds, and it'll break that poor, poor friendship he has with the clumsy guy…" Both teams smirked evilly.
The scene shows a map of Canada, with the footage fast-forwarding to later, showing the plane landing at Edmonton International Airport.
At Edmonton, all teams made headway to a Don Box right near a few gates.
The Young Farmers and Unlikely Best Friends were first to make it there. Each of them pressed the button, with Scott and Gwen reading tips, "What the heck is this?!" Scott questioned.
"It's a Travel/Or…" Gwen said, suspiciously looking around, "What's a Travel/Or?" The rest of the teams stopped ahead to get their own tips.
It cuts to Don, who was in the middle of a dense forest. "A Travel/Or works similarly to an Either/Or, except it gives teams two options of traveling to their next destination or traveling to a separate destination. In this scenario, it's called 'Wait or No Wait'! They must either…"
It shows a passenger plane at Edmonton International Airport, "'Wait', in which they must wait for a plane to take them to their next destination…"
Then the camera pans to a large cargo plane beside it. "Or 'No Wait', where they will immediately get onto a cargo plane…"
The camera comes back to Don, "Depending on what they choose will impact them during the leg. Whatever they choose, they have to stick with it, 'cause once you choose your decision, there's no take-backsies. They must choose wisely!"
Courtney and Gwen are seen looking at their tip again, "We're going to… California?" asked Gwen.
"Yes!" Don narrated as the camera shows the American flag, and a picture of a 'Welcome to California' sign. Popping up, he continued, "California is the golden state 'round here!"
There are pictures of celebrities, beaches, and a forest with a wildfire in the middle, "This state is home to hot celebs, hot vacation spots, and anything else that has the word 'hot' in it…"
The scene where Don is standing in the forest appears again, "Depending on what they choose, either 'Wait' or 'No Wait', the challenge will be different. But they must be aware that the Chill-Zone is at one place."
"I think we'll choose 'Wait'." said Courtney.
"Same here." Oscar agreed, "Not gonna take any more risks…"
"Well, we're gonna do 'No Wait'!" Scott stated, with Rodney nodding with him, "Any takers wanna come with us?" Both of them turned to the rest of the teams.
The Bullies, Maple Scouts, Lesbians, Pizza Sisters, Punks, Brothers, and All-Star Hockey Players raise their hands; they are coming with them.
"Let's go, guys!" said Tracy as she and Lorraine were the first to take off, with the rest of the teams following them down the tarmac to hit the cargo plane.
Wait: Opposing Roommates, Homecoming Couple, Jocks, British Royals, Student & Counselor, BFFFLs, Unlikely Best Friends, Town Heroes, and C-List Celebrities
No Wait: Maple Scouts, Punks, All-Star Hockey Players, Lesbians, Bullies, Young Farmers, Brothers, and Pizza Sisters
It cuts to the tarmac, with the teams that chose 'No Wait' running towards a plane. The pilot stood out, yelling at them, ushering them in, "Go, go, go, go!"
"Have a cow, why don't ya…" grumbled Lorraine as she made it to her seat.
As soon as everyone got settled into their seats (or their benches with seat belts), the pilot ran inside and turned on the mic, strapping himself in too.
"Alright 'No Waiters'..." he announced, "Welcome aboard the flight to Merced Regional… Our flight time from Edmonton will be about six hours, but this plane is going to go fast! So expect a little turbulence along the way, and keep your seat belts buckled because we are preparing for takeoff!"
"Okay…" said Alejandro, "It's gonna be a fast flight. How bad can it be?"
"You're asking this now?" Jose questioned his brother, his left eyebrow raised.
Meanwhile, the teams that chose 'Wait' are waiting for their plane to board. They are given an announcement by a stewardess…
"Attention passengers, our flight to San Francisco International Airport will be preparing to board in about thirty minutes." she said over the intercom, "In the meantime, we will be giving out complimentary lunch options for you to eat."
"Wow…" said an astonished Courtney, "That's… complimentary…"
"You think?" Gwen poked.
The Jocks were waiting around, but Tyler was curious. He didn't choose 'Wait' in the first place… "Oscar, why did you say we should do 'Wait'?" he asked his partner.
"Just because…" said Oscar, "Because I feel like it would be an easier option to get us into first…"
"Well… doesn't seem like it to me…" Tyler argued, before a stewardess walked and gave them menus for lunch. "Thank you." Tyler quickly said to her, before turning to his partner, "I felt like we should've done the 'No Wait' option."
"Well… would you rather be stuck on a cargo plane?" Oscar raised an eyebrow.
"I've been on one back in World Tour!" argued Tyler, "Besides, I could handle going on it again."
Suddenly, they, along with the rest of the teams, saw the cargo plane accelerate on the runway, before lifting off at an unsteady rate.
"Okay, maybe not that…" Tyler coughed, his head sweating of the thought of the 'No Wait' teams riding a rough ride on their plane.
The camera fast-forwards to the 'Wait' teams already finishing lunch, before they were directed onto their plane.
"All teams are bound and heading to California, but in different directions!"
The next scene shows a map of California, with two points in San Francisco and Yosemite… The two planes were already in the air, heading towards their destinations.
"Teams that chose 'Wait' will go to San Francisco," Don narrated as the 'Wait' plane blinked, "While teams that chose 'No Wait' will go to Merced County, where they will transfer all the way to Yosemite National Park… In the meantime, we check both flights and their teams…"
On the 'Wait' plane, Carla was sitting away from Terrence. Both teammates were not making an effort in talking to each other. This didn't go unnoticed by Giulietta.
She made her way across the aisle to sit next to her. "Hey…" she said.
Carla's eyes turned towards Giulietta. "What do you want?" she asked, bitterly.
"I just want to check on you." said Giulietta, "Couldn't help but notice you were feeling upset…"
"Don't you have a slacker you need to teach?" Carla hissed.
"He's taking a break." said Giulietta, her eyes turning to Luke, who was taking a nap. She turned back to the cheerleader, "Look, I know that you and your boyfriend are upset, but-"
"He's not my boyfriend anymore!" Carla hissed, "He said it himself. He knew I was a problem, he doesn't want to associate with me anymore. I just want to be alone." She turned her head away from the student counselor, making her feel sad for her.
Meanwhile, the BFFFLs were sitting across from the Opposing Roommates. Katherine was glaring at Katie. "I'm so mad at you…" she stated to the nice girl.
Katie's head turned to the fashionable roommate, "Why?" she asked, her eyebrow raised.
Olivia and Sadie turned to their partners, worried about another fight between them.
"Katherine, look, I don't think she meant to hurt your feelings, but-" Olivia tried to say, before she got cut off.
"No!" Katherine snarled, "That little brat insulted my design, she made me cry." Katherine sounded like she was ready to cry again.
"Well, someone's gotta tell you it's not right." stated Katie.
"Katie, please." Sadie tried to say, "This isn't worth it." Katie looked back at her best friend, before rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, you're right." Katie sighed.
Olivia put a hand on Katherine, who looked solemnly at her partner.
*CON: Katherine - Opposing Roommates*
"I wouldn't mind accepting criticism from Katie, but she really hurt my feelings. If she had a pet she was close to, wouldn't she want to honor her in such a way?" The tall roommate let out a sigh, "I really miss Rufus…"
*END CON: Katherine - Opposing Roommates*
Terrence was seen sitting at the far end of the plane, avoiding any contact with his now ex-girlfriend.
Suddenly, he hears the Town Heroes approaching him. He turned to see Lewis in front of Harvey. "Hey man." he greeted the jock, "How's it going?"
Terrence looked up to the Town Heroes, "Could be worse…" he said, before looking away.
"Do you mind scooting over?" asked Lewis.
Terrence let out a huge sigh as he moved seats for the Town Heroes to move over.
"Are you still feeling upset over your fight with Carla?" asked Lewis.
"Yeah…" said Terrence, "I don't know what to do at this point."
"What do you mean?" asked Lewis.
Terrence let out a huge sigh, "I'm just not in the mood to talk with her, and I don't think she wants to talk with me either. Now it's just… where do we stand game-wise… Like should we quit? Should we keep going?"
"Well, then why don't you just try and talk to her?" asked Harvey, "Talking can kind of clear a little fog, if you know what I mean."
Terrence shook his head, "I don't want to make any more tension between us… I feel like she's gonna disagree with what I think and… it'll make things more awkward…" He got up from his seat and walked across the aisle away from the Town Heroes.
Harvey and Lewis looked at each other. "Poor kid." said Harvey, "He really has a lot goin' on right now."
"No kiddin'." said Lewis, before he looked out the window, "Man… I wonder how the Hockey Players and Brothers are doing on the other plane."
The camera zooms out of the picture, to reveal a black screen with another picture, where the camera goes into that picture.
The cargo plane is accelerating at an uncontrollable speed. The engines were roaring very loudly, and the plane was experiencing a lot of turbulence.
Inside the plane, the camera pans to the bench the 'No Wait' teams were sitting on during their flight from left to right, where the Brothers, All-Star Hockey Players, Lesbians, Maple Scouts, Pizza Sisters, Bullies, and Young Farmers were holding onto each other for dear life. They were wearing a lot of seat belts.
Scott turned to Rodney, "This ride is reeallly rrooooouggh!" he yelled.
"What?!" Rodney yelled, as the only thing he, along with everyone else, could hear was the loud engine noises, "I caaaan't heeerrree youuuu!"
"I SAID THIS RIDE IS ROOOOOOUUUGGGHH!" Scott screamed.
"I dooon't haaave anyyyy scruuuuuuff!" Rodney yelled back, not hearing what Scott said clearly.
"WHAT?!" Scott asked.
"Papa, we're all gonna diieee! I'll miiiisss yoooooouuu!" Lorraine cried out.
"Did you say sommettthing?!" Lance yelled.
"What?!" Lorraine turned to him.
"What?!"
The camera cuts to an exterior of the plane, roaring across the screen, causing it to shake.
Then the camera shows a map of both planes. "Both planes are making headway to their destination!" stated Don, "And thanks to digital editing…"
The next scene shows the 'No Wait' plane already landing in Merced Regional Airport.
"They've now arrived!" Don finished.
As soon as a stairway arrived for the teams, the pilot's voice could be heard from the inside, "Go, go, go!" he yelled, as all the teams started bursting out of the doors.
As the teams were running towards somewhere, Don's voice was heard, "Teams that chose 'No Wait' will head directly to…"
A scene shows Don, who was standing in front of a giant waterfall, "Yosemite National Park! A haven of a lot of giants; the waterfall, trees, and bears." He says as there were pictures of the waterfall, sequoia trees, and an angry bear.
Don is shown again, standing beside a wildlife version of the Don Box, "Once teams arrive here, they will have to trek through this forest to find this Don Box. And don't worry if they find any bears, our production team is always on the case." There were a few producers with tranquilizer guns, "They won't kill them, they'll just knock them out, if you're wondering." Suddenly, Don gets something from his earpiece, "Yes?"
A moment later, he signs off, "Okay…" he said, as a scene of the 'No Wait' teams boarded the bus to Yosemite, "And as the teams that chose 'No Wait' are not waiting for their bus to leave…"
"Get going!" / "Come on, scrub!" / "Move, move, move!" / "This is a race here!" / "Let's go, man!" / "Hurry up!" yelled Lance, Wyvern, Lorraine, Jose, Seren, and Arnold, simultaneously.
The bus driver wasted no more time stepping on the gas pedal and the bus raced out of the airport.
Just then, the airport with the 'Wait' teams lands in San Francisco… "Teams that chose 'Wait' have finally arrived in…"
Another scene shows Don, who was standing in front of a panorama of the Golden Gate Bridge. "San Francisco!" he narrated once more, "A small city by the bay area, but it's a full house of architectural extravagances, and a place with miles of culture and history! Woo, gotta love that place!" As he narrates, there were pictures of Alamo Square's Painted Ladies, the Transamerica Pyramid, and a group of people of different ethics and culture.
Don appears at the Golden Gate Bridge walkway, "Teams must take a bus to the Golden Gate Bridge, the gateway to either San Fran or Marin County, wherever you want to make the shots, where they will be met with this Don Box…" He gestures to a Don Box dressed in a hipster. "Their next challenge will be one based on patience, but something that'll be worth the wait!"
The teams that chose 'Wait' made it to the taxi pickup station, where they all yelled at their drivers to head to the Golden Gate Bridge.
In one taxi, the British Royals were looking forward to the challenge; well, let's say at least one of them, though…
"I can't wait to go see the Golden Gate Bridge!" exclaimed Patrick, "It's one of those glorious sights you see on television, and now that we're gonna go, it's gonna be a reality!"
"Heh… yeah…" agreed a half-heartedly Elizabeth.
"What's wrong?" asked a concerned Patrick.
"I don't quite know…" Elizabeth shook her head, "It's just… what if the challenge might be… another bungee jumping?" Patrick blinked a few times at his girlfriend, "It's just… I have a huge fear of falling…"
"Hey there…" said Patrick, "You did it once back in Monaco, and if there's another bungee-jumping, I'll be there for you…"
"You sure?" asked Elizabeth.
"Absolutely. I want you to feel safe throughout this race."
Elizabeth leaned her head towards Patrick's shoulder, and the Irish-heritage royal squeezed her closely.
In another taxi, the Homecoming Couple were sharing their taxi with the C-List Celebrities. The entire ride was nothing but awkward, as the Celebs were quietly studying the (not) Homecoming Couple, who had their arms folded, unhappily sitting next to each other.
"Like, geez, you two are very quiet." stated Shannon, "What's up?"
"What's up?" questioned Carla, "You kidding me?! We're over!" Terrence acknowledged Carla's statement, but refused to talk with anyone.
"Well… bad blood, I guess?" Shannon raised an eyebrow, "Miss Queen of Tantrums?"
Carla let out a scoff, "Like you two are any better." she murmured, "You threw hissy fits all over the place!"
"Name one." challenged Narissa.
"Well… I…" Carla tried to name a time where the Celebs were no better than her, but she couldn't think of something. She let out a groan, "Nevermind…", before turning to face the window.
The Celebs turned to each other. "Wonder how those Brothers are doing…" Shannon whispered to her partner.
"Oh yeah…" a surprised Narissa exclaimed.
*CON: Shannon & Narissa - C-List Celebrities*
"We forgot!" stated Narissa, "We were partnered up with Alejandro and Jose, but it's been a long time since we've talked to them!"
"Like, no wonder!" agreed Shannon, "We may not see them right now, since we somehow chose 'Wait', but we've gotta get the cheese on what they're doing!"
*END CON: Shannon & Narissa - C-List Celebrities*
The taxis arrived dead set in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Out of the taxis first were the British Royals, Town Heroes, and Unlikely Best Friends. They headed towards the Don Box. One hand presses the button on top, and out comes a tip…
"All-In…" Harvey read the tip.
Elizabeth was reading another tip, "'Ships Come, Ships Go…'"
The scene shows Don, who was sitting atop of a ferry. "For those who chose 'Wait', this All-In, requires both teammates to look out from the Golden Gate Bridge, and wait for a boat to come by. How will they know what boat it is?"
The next scene shows nine boats with a blue flag that has two orange RR's on it, "They will have to find one of these nine boats with a Ridonculous Race flag on it. Once they do…"
Don is shown standing on top of a rail, "Both teammates will jump down from the railing wearing bungee cords, and then…" Don steps off the rail, screaming as he plummets towards the water. Suddenly, he realizes he is hooked onto another cord. Then he looks back up to the camera, "They only have a limited time to collect the flag, which has a tip on the back of it. Once they do, they must head back up, without dropping it, and they will be instructed where to go next…"
Everyone who just read the 'All-In' walked towards a guide, who handed out bungee cords for them all to wear.
"Oh my…" quivered Elizabeth, "I knew this was gonna happen…"
Patrick put a hand on his girlfriend, "Don't feel too scared, my love." he told her, "This is just like the bungee jumping challenge back in Monaco. We can do this!" Elizabeth nodded, but she was still scared.
Gwen turned to Courtney, leering at her, "Now Courtney." she told her, "You know if we do this, we have to do this together, right?" She had an eyebrow raised. She remembered back in Monaco the stint Courtney pulled the last time they bungee jumped.
"Uhum… yeah." nodded Courtney.
But Gwen wasn't buying it, "Do you promise not to hesitate once we jump?"
"Yes."
"Do you really promise?" Gwen had her arms folded.
Courtney looked around, and saw many teams gazing at her, hoping that she would promise her teammate. Sighing, she looked back to the goth, "I promise…"
Everyone was seen having bungee cords hooked onto them, and they all went towards the rail of the bridge.
"Okay…" said Lewis, "Now all we do is just wait…" He looked around the bay, searching for a flag, "This ain't too shabby…"
Meanwhile, Olivia was struggling to get her harness on herself. She looked up to her partner, "Kat, you stay right there! I'll get this on lickety split!"
"I hope so…" Katherine rolled her eyes.
Next to her, Oscar was eyeing her. He wanted to say something to her, "Hey…" he greeted her.
The tall girl turned to see the jock in blue, "Oh. Hey." she said, nonchalantly.
"How're you feeling… y'know, after what happened yesterday?" the jock asked her.
"Eh… I've been better…" she shrugged, before glaring at an unnoticing Katie.
"Can I be honest with you, Kat?" Oscar asked, "I thought your clothing design was pretty cute."
"You think so?" asked Katherine.
"Definitely." said Oscar, "I mean, what inspired you to make those kinds of clothing?"
Katherine let out a huge sigh, "My dog Rufus…" she said, "Y'see, he and I were very close back home… Now it's just… empty, without him here…"
"Ouch…" said Oscar, before he inspected the cylinder around Katherine's neck, "That thing… Does it have your dog's… ashes?"
Katherine looked down at it, and then sadly nodded.
"Sorry about that…" said Oscar, "I hope you feel better…" Katherine nodded again.
Suddenly, Tyler walked back into Oscar, causing both boys to fall on the ground.
"Oops!" Tyler exclaimed, "Sorry about that! Oscar, can you help me with this?" he held up his bungee cord. Suddenly, it fell from his waist.
"Got it." said Oscar.
While Tyler had bent down to collect his bungee cord, Katherine let out an 'ahem', getting Oscar's attention. "When should you tell him?" she whispered.
Oscar shrugged, instantly sweating. He didn't want to tell Tyler the truth out in the blue. He just simply helped Tyler get his harness on him.
"Thanks man." said Tyler, "Now, are you ready to rock this challenge?"
"As I'll ever be…" Oscar said with a nervous smile.
"While teams in San Fran are in for a long wait…" Don narrated…
The camera cuts to the entrance of Yosemite National Park, where the bus roars to a stop… Immediately, all the 'No Wait' teams charged out of the bus and down the path.
"Teams that chose 'No Wait' have just arrived at Yosemite!" Don finished.
Dashing through the forest, both teams smirked at each other to see if they can one-up each other and make it to the Don Box first.
Eventually, the first team to make it was the Bullies, with Lance pressing the button on top of the Don Box, and Molly grabbing the tip from the Don Box mouth. "It's an All-In." she read, "'Fight or Flight'".
The camera transitions to Don, who was wearing hang gliding equipment, holding onto a laurel green hang glider. "For those who chose 'No Wait', this All-In features teams taking one of these hang gliders…" There was a brief cut to eight hang gliders, before Don continued, as he takes a running start, jumping off the cliff, hanging on tight to his hang glider, "Then they must take them to glide across all of Yosemite,"
The camera shows the landing pad with a tall blue flag with an orange 'RR' on it, "Where eventually, they must find a tall Ridonculous Race flag." Don pops out of nowhere, "It is then where teams will grab their next tip from the flag to go wherever is next!"
The camera cuts back to the 'No Wait' teams, whom they all ran to grab gear and a hang glider.
"We've got no time to lose!" said V, "Let's go!"
The Brothers were the first team to make it to get a hang glider. "Ah, what a nice glider we have today, am I right, Al?" Jose asked his brother, as they were facing a crimson hang glider with black stripes.
Alejandro let out a sigh, "I guess…"
The Pizza Sisters passed by them to grab a pink hang glider with red stripes. "We don't have time to lose, Lori!" Tracy told her.
"Okay…" said Lorraine, who wasn't minding the orders from her older sister.
Jose turned to see the Pizza Sisters, before smirking at the younger sister.
"Y'know, you kinda look… dashing in that outfit…" said Jose.
"Jose, what're you-" Alejandro tried to say, before Jose covered his mouth.
Lorraine looked down at her black tank top and red shoes, before she turned back to Jose, trying not to giggle, "Thanks…" she said, "I try my best…"
"What do you mean?" Alejandro glared at his brother, "She looks like a-"
"Pay no attention to my younger brother." said Jose, covering his brother's mouth again, "You look… ravishing no matter what."
"Well, I wanted to get better clothes…" Lorraine said, nonchalantly, "But my family's pizzeria's on borrowed time financially, so… This is what I have to wear…"
Tracy looked up to see her sister talking to Jose, "Lori, less talking, more working!"
"BRB…" Lorraine told her sister, before turning to Jose, "What were you going to say?"
"Oh nothing…" said Jose, "But no matter what, I think you'll make a good wife for someone…" His eyebrows bounce up and down.
Lorraine blushed, "Thanks, but… we just met?"
"Don't worry about me." said Jose, "It doesn't have to be between you and I. I'm pretty sure you have guys back home where you live?"
"Definitely!" said Lorraine, "I give them pics of myself and send cute, flirtsy messages towards them, but, now that my phone's gone… I'm a little disconnected."
"Oh…" said Jose, "How does it feel?"
"Different." said the blonde pizza sister, "But it's a good different! It's like… I'm open to what's going on right now… I had movies with a celebrity, talked with a bunch of people, all that kinds of stuff I couldn't do on some cellular device…"
"Ah cool…" said Jose with a smirk, "Well… I have nothing else to say but… I wish you good luck."
"You too." said Lorraine, before turning back to help Tracy. The older sister was in shock the whole time.
*CON: Tracy & Lorraine - Pizza Sisters*
"Wow…" said an impressed Tracy, "That's a whole new side of you I haven't seen…"
"Eh… I'm trying not to brag or show it too much." said Lorraine, "But without my phone in my hand, I'm starting to become more open to things in life…"
"Well, good to know!"
*END CON: Tracy & Lorraine - Pizza Sisters*
The camera cuts back to the Golden Gate Bridge, where the 'Wait' teams were all looking around for a boat with a 'RR' flag on it.
"Man…" said Shannon, who was impatiently tapping her foot, "Like, how long has it been?"
"Thirty minutes…" said Gwen.
"It feels like it's been quadrupled that…" said Shannon.
"You mean like, two hours?" questioned Olivia.
"Whatever…" Shannon turned away.
"Well, it's only a matter of time until-" Courtney started to say something.
"BOAT! Boat with a flag on it, man!" Tyler excitedly pointed out.
Sure enough, there was a boat about to head underneath the bridge.
"We called it, we're going to get that tip!" Tyler announced to his rival teams, with Oscar nodding, a little hesitant on how it'll end up.
"Actually, make it two!" Patrick pointed out, with another boat chugging along with an identical 'RR' flag on it.
"Ooooohhh my lord…" Elizabeth quivered with fear, "I'm a little nervous…"
Patrick turned to his girlfriend, reassuringly, "Aye, it'll be fine there!" he stated, "We're wearing harnesses, we have bungee cords, we can do this!"
Elizabeth flashed a nervous smile, "Correct… Let's…" She gulped, "Do this…"
The camera cuts back to the 'No Wait' teams at Yosemite, all of whom had hang glider equipment on, and were all holding on to a hang glider. Each of them stood near a cliff near the waterfall.
First up was the Pizza Sisters. Tracy turned to Lorraine, "Are you ready for this, Lorraine?" she asked.
"Definitely!" stated Lorraine, "Let's go!"
Both sisters made a quick dash…
"Lorraine!" Jose called, "You've got something on your shirt!"
"What?!" Lorraine looked down at her spotless top.
Then, there was a split scene between Yosemite and the Golden Gate Bridge, with the latter scene having the Jocks and British Royals standing on the railing.
"One…" Tracy, Tyler and Patrick counted, the former still running with her distracted sister, and the latter two anticipating to jump.
"Two…" They counted some more…
"Three!"
Tracy lept up and held on tight to her team's hang glider. Lorraine, who suddenly realized what was going on, gripped onto the hang glider. Meanwhile, the Jocks and British Royals jumped down the bridge and towards the water.
All three teams were heard screaming.
"Which team will prevail through the next challenge? Who will have to continue suffering through anticipation or pressure?" Don narrated, "Find out, after the break!"
The scene shows Yosemite, with the Pizza Sisters' hang glider gliding above the land. Suddenly, the backside of a shark appears out of nowhere in front of the camera. Ominous music started to play as the shark was looking out towards the cliff...
That's gonna be it for this part of Episode 6! This episode introduces the 'Travel/Or', an Either/Or variant, but you travel to different places, but end up at the same spot by the end of the leg. In this case, it's either traveling to San Francisco or Yosemite National Park. Each place has different themes wherever they go; either they wait, or they don't wait.
Also, a new mechanic, the Optional, has been introduced. However, it doesn't seem like it's a major contributor to the race, other than it gives teams a chance to get free upgrades to traveling. I will say, it might serve a purpose some time soon... It just depends on what types of teams use it, and how they'll use it.
There are a lot of teams bonding with each other; some good, some bad. And there are also teams trying to make the go to head into first place! Who will make it? Who won't? Find out in the next part! Have a nice day!
