A/N: I made a promise to my readers that I would warn ahead of time if the story took a dive into the darkness. This story is rated M for a reason. This story is not intended for kids. You have been warned.
She reached over and pulled her chin up. "I'm not going anywhere. When you were missing I was devastated, and When I saw the bed where you were..." She cleared her throat as she continued. "When I saw what happened through your magic, I felt as if I had let you down. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let you go through this alone." Maren finished. "Wait, were you in the farmhouse?" Elsa asked in surprise. Maren nodded her head. "What do you mean you saw with my magic?" Elsa asked in horror. "It was if your subconscious was showing us what happened to you." Maren took a steadying breath. "Well pieces of what happened to you." Elsa's mouth opened and closed unsure of what to say. "What did it show you?" She squeaked out. Maren swallowed thickly. "Nothing that will change us." Elsa shook her head left to right. She closed her eyes as Maren lovingly cupped her face, the winter spirit leaning into the touch. "Elsa, Were you raped?" She carefully asked as she rubbed her thumb down the bruise on her face.
I'm not sure how I even got home. Elsa looked down and took a steadying breath. "No. At least...I don't think so." Maren couldn't shake the image of the man between her girlfriends legs. "Your magic showed us that a man was on top of you. It looked like things got pretty far. Are you sure?" Maren carefully asked. Elsa cringed as she searched her memory. He kneed her legs apart pushing himself against her. She immediately froze as she felt his need pressing against her core, "The only time I can remember Iver on me I was fully clothed." She whispered out still looking at her hands. "Nokk may know." Maren suggested. "How?" Elsa looked up. "He's the one that brought you here." Maren quietly said as Elsa waved her hands drawing her magic away. Elsa groaned as she pushed herself into a stand. "Elsa." Maren reprimanded. "I have to know." Icy blue eyes stared into warm chocolate eyes. "Okay, but on one condition. I'm coming with you." Maren picked Elsa up bridal style.
Maren carried Elsa outside of the gates quietly as Elsa had guided her how to avoid the guards. "It feels like we are sneaking around." Maren lightly chuckled as she walked up to the fjord. Elsa turned to look at her. "If I know my sister, the guards have been ordered to not let me out of the castle until I am fully healed." Elsa said while searching the coastline. That's odd. She couldn't sense Nokk as they approached, but heard him braying in the distance. Nokk excitingly pranced around the dock, Mistress, I'm so relieved to see you awake. Gale said you hadn't woken the last I spoke with her. She looked at him with a frown on her face. This isn't good. Nokk made a snorting noise as he became increasingly impatient for her to reply. "What's he saying?" Maren looked at the winter spirit expectantly. "I..I..I can't hear him." Elsa alarmingly stated as she turned to look at Maren. "I need to go to Ahtohallan." Elsa placed her hand on Marens shoulder to brace as she attempted to get down. "Your sister would murder me if I go back to the castle alone. I'm coming with you." Maren insisted. Elsa contemplated for a moment then nodded her head as she reached out towards the water spirit. "I can't hear you dear friend, but we need to go to Ahtohallan." She whispered out as her fingers rubbed against his watery mane. He bowed down and snorted. Maren grabbed Elsa's hips as she helped her get onto the water spirit. Maren gripped Elsa's left hip and right shoulder as she climbed on. "I'm so sorry." She said as her girlfriend winced. Elsa took a steadying breath, "Let's go." She said as she hissed out. Oh god, My ribs. Elsa thought as she grabbed her sides. "You alright?" Maren leaned forward and whispered in Elsa's ear. She nodded not trusting her voice.
"Your Majesty, Queen Elsa was spotted with the Northuldran woman getting onto the water spirit a few minutes ago." Jakob urgently explained as Anna fumed. "She needs to rest. What is she thinking?" Anna paced the throne room. Elsa was so insistent that we shouldn't start a war over this, but I think that is her fear talking. Anna reflected. I made it clear in my letter that no citizen of the Southern Isles was to trespass, yet not one but two of their princes came and tortured my sister. If I back down now, It shows us weak. She thought as she turned to Jakob. "Summon the council at once." He turned and walked out of the throne room with purpose. "Are you sure you want to go against Elsa's wishes?" Kristoff asked as he rubbed her shoulders. "Elsa is in no condition to make sound judgments." Anna rationalized.
It took twice the time it would have normally as Nokk had tried his best not to jostle his Mistress, but they finally reached Ahtohallan. Nokk trotted to the shore for the two women to get off safely. Maren slid off ungracefully falling on her butt as she watched Elsa even after all she had been through sliding off the water stallion with grace. She couldn't pull her eyes away from how she lightly passed her fingers along the water spirits neck pulling his muzzle towards her. "Thank you dear friend." She said as she placed her forehead against him." Maren was mesmerized as the water spirit became corporeal. "Whoa." Maren whispered out. Elsa turned and held her hand out for Maren. "Come on, You're about to see a lot about my past." She said with trepidation as she bit her lip. Maren pushed herself up and grabbed Elsa's hand. "We will do this together. You're not alone anymore." Maren smiled as they walked into the entrance. Nokk walked behind them as Maren looked around in amazement. This is so beautiful. Elsa watched her girlfriends wide eyes and smiled as she remembered her first time at the wonder Ahtohallan had to offer. "It's gorgeous isn't it?" Elsa asked. "Not as much as you are though." Maren replied with a smirk as Elsa rolled her eyes. They walked up to pillars that looked like jumping posts nothing around them other than emptiness. "No way you"re able to do that now." Maren glared at her. Elsa lifted her hand and made a bridge to the other side. "Better?" She lightly chuckled wincing as her ribs protested. Maren nodded as they walked across. "I never planned on bringing anyone here, but it's the only way I can think of to get answers." Elsa whispered as they walked into a room under an icy dome.
"Queen Elsa should really have a say in this matter." Arvid suggested. "She's not here, and she also isn't in the right state of mind to be making these decisions in her recovery. She was traumatically beaten possibly raped by these traitorous princes." The council flinched as Anna fumed. "I want to organize our Army immediately." She said as she looked at General Mattias. He looked over at his queen and grimaced. Queen Elsa is not going to be happy about this. He thought to himself as he turned to follow his orders. Anna turned towards the council as they were talking among themselves. "We will make a formal announcement to our kingdom by the days end." She said as she walked towards the Queen's chambers.
Maren placed her hand on Elsa's back as she looked torn about sharing her most private secrets. Elsa bit her lip as she looked at her hand which was already glowing with her magic, with a flick of her wrist the dome lit up. She looked over at her girlfriend who smiled at her lovingly then took a steadying breath as the memories began to stream above them. Elsa watched as she was discovering her powers for the first time, As her father carried her in to meet her new baby sister, Anna learning to walk, Her mother singing to her and Anna, Her father telling bedtime stories, Anna bugging her to play in the night, The first attempt at Olaf. Her taking charge as she pressed her lips to Honeymarens, The relief at Honeymaren calming Elsa down as her magic tried to sabotage her first intimate encounter, Elsa screaming Honeymarens name in ecstasy, Her seeing Honeymarens body for the first time. The sound of her name as Honeymaren screamed her release, Her being blindsided about the suitors ball, Honeymaren sneaking into her bed and the events following it. Honeymaren saying I love you for the first time. Maren laughed as Elsa's face matched her sisters color when she found out that they had been caught, Her watching Honeymaren from across the dance floor. Maren smiled as squeezed her lover's hand, Her fear of seeing the eye's that haunted her nightmares, Her decision to go to Ahtohallan in the middle of the night, The pain of the crossbow bolt sticking into her shoulder, The fear of her power draining away. Anna took a steadying breath as she walked out onto the balcony over her people. "I stand before you today to inform the citizens of Arendelle of the disgusting and unforgivable crimes brought against our kingdom. Prince Iver and Prince Hans of the Southern Isles went against my warnings to their country. They kidnapped and tortured Queen Elsa." At the gasps and murmurs vibrated around the courtyard as Anna continued. "Rest assured, Queen Elsa is safe at home and resting. Today with council approval, I have decreed that Arendelle will go to war with the Southern Isles. The army will leave at dawn." Applause rang out from the Arendellian people.
Elsa was trembling at the visions above her. I knew it was bad. I just didn't think.. Her thought was cut of by Maren wrapping around her. "It will be okay. We will work through this together." Maren whispered in her ear. The scene above shifted to Nokk smacking into Iver and Elsa launching the prince out of the water as he bit down on Elsa's arm to prevent her from sinking any further to the ocean floor. The water spirits fear of dropping her, Nokk struggling to race the predators of the ocean with his lifeless Mistress in his mouth, Gale rushing forward to warn of their arrival, Honeymaren grabbing Elsa onto the dock. That's how she got wet and bloodied. She found me. Elsa turned her head to stare at the crying Northuldran. The memories shifted to Honeymaren not wanting to let go of her love, Elsa being tortured by the doctor, Her listening to Anna and Honeymaren, The dreams that accompanied her nightmares. Elsa gasped as she watched her magic violently ricocheting around the room and then to her screams as it exploded upon impact against her body, Waking up to see Honeymaren there. "You were there all along. I'm so sorry that you felt everything." Maren turned Elsa around in her arms. "I do love you." She whispered against Elsa's neck. Tears streamed down her face as she opened her eyes to see Nokk with his head down. Elsa pulled back to lightly press her lips against Marens before she gently pulled out of her lover's arms and walked forward to run her hand down Nokk's body. "I don't know why I can't hear you." She sadly whispered as Ahtohallan began to shake. What the? Elsa thought as angry cracks appeared overhead. "Elsa, We have to move." Maren called out as a chunk of ice fell towards the unsuspecting Northuldran. Elsa screamed in terror as Nokk jumped forward pushing Maren safely out the way. "Thank you Nokk." Maren said as she clung to his neck. Maren looked up and gasped as a large piece of ice fell from above Elsa. "Elsa, Look out!" Maren screamed as she watched in horror as the ice crashed where Elsa was standing.
A/N: This is my longest chapter yet. Fun fact: We have surpassed the word count of my first fanfiction with less chapters. It took most of my day to write and edit. Thank you guys for your support. I loved hearing your take on the events of the last chapter. As you thought, Anna isn't going to listen. Thank you guys for the reviews and to the readers. I am floored at how many of you there are. :) Now to the fun part: Why can't Elsa hear the other spirits? Why is Ahtohallan breaking apart? What will be the consequences of this war? See you tomorrow. :)
