Fate in the star: I been gone way to long but I hope you all are well so I don't own anything but my oc's and this plot so here you all go chap 25
We were stopped for a break and the guards were doing their thing, mostly fighting with one another as I watched. Allen and Luke were right beside me commenting on everything and watching intently. They reminded me of kids in wonder watching fireworks.
"So what made you two decided to become soldier?" they looked at me and smiled.
"That simple because we want to help others and our country." Allen stated.
"Yeah and also hopeful someday we can go up against the power twins and bet them. We so be that good." Luke started to boasted on how the fight would go but I was confused power twins where have I heard that name before.
"Power twins?" I asked
"There Air and Janco there seconds in command to Valek the chief of security of all Ixia." Allen informed me I wanted to face palm or giggle the way there were talking it was like they were so super humans of something. I saw Valek out of the corner of my eye but I ignored him.
" Allen I pretty sure she knew that part." Luke sighed and carried on "Well anyway someday were going to face them and then we be the best fighting pair. More than we all ready are."
"Of course" I couldn't help it I think it great that these two had a dream to bet Air and Janco and I know those two would welcome the challenge and enjoy it and To meet these too.
"Hey Sophia your dad and adviser have you ever meet any of them?" Luke asked me I wanted to gulp.
"Luke you can't ask questions like that!" Allen hissed
"To late I just did." Luke smirked turning back to me but that little side diversions gave me enough time to think of something.
"No I haven't." my stomach did flips as it took all of my being to keep my cool.
"Well do you want to meet them?" Luke was a persistent one I give you that.
"No they seem kind of scary to me, I'm not one for fighting." I gave more to make him shut up.
"Oh yeah well you are a girl so I guess that right." Luke stated shaking it off. We went back to the guards fighting as one got flip on his back. He got up and grumbled. And looked at us.
"ALLEN, LUKE GET YOUR ASS IN TO TRAIN YOU LAZY SLACKERS!" the man was red in the face and could tell he was taking it out on these too.
"Yes sir" the stated and waved good bye to me to go in to training. I sighed. But I wasn't alone long Valek came by me and leaned against the tree.
"Hello sweet heart having fun." He smiled at me. I smiled back
"Somewhat I just can't wait to get home." I stated.
"Don't worry we will be home in a day or so," he told me alright that good I didn't have a clue to where we were going in the first places.
"Yea ,I can't wait." I played it up so it look like to others that I was looking forwarded to it.
Valek just chuckled. He came closer to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"I thought you would like that." But he quietly added " your lying skills are good but we need to work on them more." And with that he walked away doing whatever he does. I when to the tree and sat down my back facing it. Watching Allen and Luke spar with one another.
We were soon back on the road that afternoon. Luke and Allen were beside me but they were talking about tactics and stuff about fighting. That being who I was at the moment doesn't really care in anyway. But in life I might find it annoying but somehow be enjoying it. The afternoon was pretty much like the others but after a bit it felt like I was being watched with eyes and there weren't kind eyes. there were eyes that wanted me dead. I don't know how I could feel something like that. But made me feel scared I tried to stay calm and not let it get to me. I knew Luke and Allen were right beside me but that didn't ease the fear growing inside of me something was not right. But I didn't want to be rash and draw attention to myself, unwanted attention. Allen broke me out of my thoughts.
"Hey Sophia were almost to your town," I looked up at him and smiled and look around.
"Yea we are." I tried my best to smile but I knew the eyes were following me. Valek was just ahead of me and I knew I need to get his attention. But how to make it not wired looking. Then I got it. I notice a big rock in the path. So I trip over it. Luke and Allen tried to catch me but my aim was different I touch Valek hand before I face-plant on the ground and it hurt. But I was worth it Valek did stop. Well everyone did. I kind of said,
" Ow" loud very loud.
I got bang up pretty good I could feel it. Valek and Luke and Allen knelt beside me.
"Sophia are you ok?" Valek asked me. I grab his arm.
"I guess I was excited for almost being home I wasn't watching where I was going." I hope Valek got my hint. He looked downed the road.
"sweetheart keep a look out for rock ok I don't need you hurt. Ok sweaty." But he grabbed my hand as he told me and gave me a slight squeeze indicating that he got my hint. He help me up.
"Come on, I should keep an eye on you." he stated as we started to move again. I hurt. But I shock it off. We walked into town and I felt the eyes slowly drift off of me.
As we soon stop at a home it was plane small but nice. I smile most people thought I was smiling because we made it home I was trying not to laugh that this was one of Valek safe houses it was in plain sight and that made me want to laugh. But I restrained myself.
The group of guards left a bit ago as we enter some stay to see us to our home I followed Valek into the house and it was nice a felt like a home. Luke and Allen stayed with us. And we were the only 4in the house.
"alright for the time being, until the people are caught you boy will be staying here to watch over Sophia. Your room will be on the right up stars being that her is on the left. Mine is on the other side on the lefted of the stair. Sophia you look tired go get some rested." And with that I took my leave. To the room the only reasons he told the which side mine was on so I know. The room looked like a normal one a place to sleep, some place to put clothes and a window which I went over to check if it was locked and it wasn't. a strange feeling crept over me and I about flip as someone grab me and cover my mouth I wanted to scream but I couldn't.
"Easy Kat it me." I about fainted. I turned and face Kyle.
"Kyle! What are you trying to do give me a heart attack." I whispered. He smiled at me and almost made me about faint again.
"No. I just wanted to check on you." He stated. I gave him a hug he was worried about me.
"I'm fine." Then it hit me, "We're you the one in the bushes looking at me." I asked
"No I been here getting note and everything ready. Kat is something wrong?"
"Kyle I'm fine. Just tired." I covered he looked at me.
"you need to work on your lying, normal people you can fool, me you can't." that what I get for liking a spymaster son.
"Kyle I think your paranoid." I covered. But before he could counter someone else did
"Kyle what in the world are you doing here?" we both turned to face Valek.
"I was um sorry." The young assassins had no answer to his father and I didn't have one either lucky he wasn't talking to me.
"Sorry don't cut it when you disobey a direct order." He huffed and cross the room
"Your leaving at night fall and not to return unless order. Understand." I wanted to cringe for Kyle the force in Valek voice was hard. And scared me. I wanted to say something to help but when I was about to I got glared at and back down.
"Yes sir." Kyle saluted
"Kat get clean up. I need to talk to my son." Valek growled at me. I nodded and got my thing I wasn't about to ask where it was I find the bath. I don't want to be around when these two go at it. I wanted to give a Kyle a reassuring look but the look in his eyes was all business with his father. And I had no part in it.
I took a deep breath to calm myself as I made my way to the bath were ever that was. I was about to reach the stair and there was Luke.
"There you are. The bath ready for you, your father said he was going to get you but you never showed."
"Oh sorry Luke my father had to talk to me about something." I stated. We walk down the stairs. And into a small room I didn't notice before.
"well here you go, just take your time. Sophia you look tired. So no rush." And with that he left and closed the door.
I looked at the steaming water. I wasn't in the mood to wash, I wasn't in the mood for anything.
"Damit." I cursed at myself I need to shake this and I need to shake this now. The inching of my much needed to be clean skin was overwhelming, I strip off my soil clothing and stood at the edge of the tube. My fear of water was starting to get to me I have to face it. I sighed a slowly got in.
The heat of the water creased my sour body, and removed the dirt that stained it. I scrub my body and found that I had bruise along it form my fall. Great that all I need more injuries. As I try to take deep breaths to keep me calm. As I told myself this water is not going to hurt me I wanted to smack myself for being afraid of the water.
I took my time or what my willpower would allow in the bath I got out and dry and got change in to a fresh set of clothe a simple skirt and top. I took a deep breath
It a start that all that was, but I will bet my new fear of water.
I started to heat up more water for the next persons. But my mind wander as I let the water heat up. As I move more slower and wasn't paying much attions in what I was doing.
"If you don't watch yourself you're going to get burn." With the voice I shot up. I turned to see Allen I smiled.
"Sorry my mind just a bit busy at the moment." I watch what I was doing and added more water to the tub.
"Hum" The young man stated grabbing the kettle from my hand. " Sophia you need to relaxes make yourself worried sick is not going to help anyone." He looked at me I nodded. Agreeing with him "Get going I got this." and with that he pushed me through the door.
I made a simple stew that night and everyone enjoyed it or so what they told me for some strange reasons I couldn't shack my mind clear. I went to bed to see Kyle laying on it.
I quickly closed the door.
"I thought you father told you to leave by night fall?"
"Plans change for a bit don't worry I'm still leaving." But before he could say anymore he pulled me down on top of him.
"But I get some time with you." He finished I breathed in his sent. That relaxes me and slowly let my mind go at easy.
"But isn't this dangerous." I asked
"now who paranoid." He teased I looked at him.
"Kyle." I began I didn't need this right now.
"Don't worry Kat dad already yelled at me." he answers still didn't help me. and he could tell
We laid there in silent not wanted to talk or wasted this time together. But I had to
"You came here because your worried about me aren't you?" he shot up moving me.
"Yes Kat I don't like you doing this, this isn't you, this isn't your world, you don't belong here." He protest. I sat up. A turned away from him.
"Kyle you don't know me that well you haven't figured all of me out. And your right this isn't my world." I glared at him. I was serious now.
"Kat are you all right?" I could tell he was worried but I didn't care. How could he say something like that after everything I knew this wasn't my world how can I stay here. Everything that happen has been my fault. I that moment I knew I could not stay with Kyle after all this was done. And knowing that now and after he pointed out this wasn't my world my heart burst and the tear came.
"Whoa Kat I I I" nothing Kyle could say could make it any better. I crash on the pillow and just laid there tears coming out. He tried to comfort me but did help he soon stop. the was a knock on my door. A hand rubbed my back.
"Hey Sophia what wrong?" I turned to notices Allen and Luke standing over me. I didn't feel like answering them so I just turned back into my covers.
"Hey Allen the windows open." Luke stated and with that I knew Kyle was gone and that hurt even more.
"Just lock it Luke," was all he stated. I hear the window lock and reality set back in but I still couldn't get a hold of myself.
"Alright Sophia you don't have to talked to us just take it easy." with that they lefted me to my wounded heart.
