Kaiya is an orphaned child. She knows nothing about her past. Only to be experimented and abused by the demented Orochimaru. On a mission to find the villain, Kakashi saves Kaiya. The fourth Hokage then adopts the child and orders Kakashi to guard the small girl. Throughout the years Kakashi learns to love, and Kaiya learns to deal with the pains of loss and abandonment.

19. Chapter 19

Scene 18

It was the next day when Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura were headed on their mission to the sand village.

Kaiya followed Kakashi to the entrance of the village.

Once Tsunade was done talking and Jiraiya went to talk to Naruto separately, Kaiya went to Kakashi.

"Now you remembered to pack all your equipment right? Kunai's, shurikens, bandages, ointment…." she began to list everything.

Everyone watched as Kaiya kept listing things after things.

"I packed you enough food and snacks for three big meals, but you should space it out just in case. I know you can buy food, but I wouldn't waste the money." she continued.

"Wow, they're like an old married couple." sighed Sakura.

"You bet, I'm surprised they're not married yet actually," replied Naruto.

This all went on for another minute until Kaiya ended it, " Now the last thing I want you to remember is to come back okay?" smiling.

Kakashi then replied, "Hmmmm well I may get lost on the way…." joking.

Kaiya playfully pushed him.

"Hey lovebirds! Can we please get going?" yelled Naruto.

"Yeah Kakashi sensei, we wait fifteen minutes for you to get here on time anyways." Sakura crossed her arms.

Kakashi and Kaiya blushed.

Everyone said their goodbyes and on the way walking Naruto asked:

"So Kakashi sensei, are you and Kaiya dating yet?" trying to catch up.

"Now why would you say that?" Kakashi answered with a question.

"Naruto has a good point,'' Sakura chimed in, 'You've been by Kaiya's side for years now and you still haven't told her how you feel!"

Kakashi stopped nervously, "What do you mean?! I don't feel anything!"

"Oh boy, the whole village sees it Kakashi sensei, you're in love with Kaiya. Nothing has changed in the two and half years I've been gone." shrugged Naruto.

"Now guys, let's not get carried away from the mission." laughed Kakashi nervously.

Naruto and Sakura sighed.

"He's never going to tell her is he?" asked Sakura.

"I give him another ten years I bet." joked Naruto.

AN: Seems like Kaiya is more cheerful now. a little background on my story is that I actually started something similar five years ago in my senior year of high school. Since then I found a style of writing I enjoy more and decided to revisit the story. Some things Kaiya has experienced, I have experienced in my real life. Anyways, I hope you all are still enjoying the story thus far! :)
