Chapter Nineteen

Jasper's thoughts are in italics

April 5, 2006 (3 PM)

All the vampires were in the dining room playing cards when the kids and the wolves come in. The kids go to their mom while the wolves take their seats and ask to be dealt in the next hand.

"Mom? Can Jazmyn, Mary and I go play outside?" SJ asks. He turns towards the wolves "Alone?"

The wolves' faces fall. Jasper smirks, but goes back to watching the kids. What are you up to…?

Bella is just staring at her kids. They have never asked this before. Why do they all of a sudden want to be alone? "Is something wrong?" She asks.

Mary responds. "No Mom. We just never get to do anything as just the three of us. We just want to go play alone for a change." Jazmyn and SJ are shaking their heads in agreement.

Bella looks to Jasper. She is sure if he felt something up with them he would say not to let them. Plus, he and Emmett just got back from a hunting contest, so they would know if anyone was out there. They still didn't know if they would see Victoria again.

"We didn't see anyone when we were out there. I think it should be okay." Plus, I will make up an excuse so I can go follow them and find out what they are up to.

Bella looks back at her kids. She isn't sure she likes this idea, but figures one time would be okay. Then they would see they are trusted. "Okay, I guess. But you must stay close to the house and must be back in an hour. If you are not, you will have all of us out there hunting for you, and you will not be allowed to do this until you are much older."

All three kids smile. "Great Mom, thanks. We will be back in an hour." Jazmyn says as SJ sets the alarm on his watch. Each gave their mom a quick hug then ran out the door.

Alice is looking at Jasper with an odd look in her eyes. They are up to something. We have to go follow them somehow.

Alice is a step ahead of him. She smirks at him and said "Well, Jasper and I are going to go have some alone time while the kids are gone." Emmett and Rosalie smirk and stand too. It sounded like a good idea to them. Both couples head for their rooms.

Everyone left in the dining room is laughing. Seth says, "I guess we can play now and take their places."

Once in their room, Alice 'looks' to see if they can sneak out unnoticed. When she is sure they open the window and jump. As soon as their feet hit the ground they take off running.

"What did you see Alice? I know you have a hard time seeing them, but you must have seen something." Jasper asks as they pick up the kids scents and run after them. I sure hope SJ is distracted enough not to notice us following him. Boy his power is weird. It is almost like a tracker, but backwards.

Alice points to the trees when the start hearing the kids talking and whispers "They are planning something, but I can't tell what. What did you feel?"

"Determination and pain." He whispers back. They stop above the kids and listen to what they are saying.

"But how do we get him here?" Mary asks. "Mom would flip if Jazmyn just brought him here. But I want to meet our Dad!"

Alice and Jasper look at each other then back to the kids. So, they want Edward here. Not that I blame them, they hear stories about him but that is not the same thing as knowing someone.

SJ is pacing back and forth in front of the girls. Jazmyn is watching him while Mary is using a stick to draw in the dirt in front of her. "Well, if Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice are right then Mom loves him and he loves her. So how mad would she really be?"

Alice shakes her head at Jasper. If Edward just showed up it wouldn't be good. Even without being able to see it she knew that. Jasper nods back at her. Well, let's make our presence known. They have the right idea they just need help making the right plans.

SJ sighs. "Just come here Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice. I know you followed us." Ugh, that power is going to be tricky to get around…

Once they both jump out of the trees SJ growls "We said we wanted to be alone."

"Well, if you want to be alone don't send out such weird feelings and don't make such solid plans. Alice may not see you completely, but she can see you a little bit. Remember?" Jasper says as he and Alice sit on the rocks next to the girls.

"Well, I know you didn't feel or see me." Mary said smugly.

Jasper sighs. "Yes, you three are very powerful indeed. Jazmyn can summon things. SJ can feel if someone is following him or find you. And you Miss. Mary can block and copy other's powers. But remember everyone has limits to their powers. We may not have found out yours and SJ's limits yet, but we did Jazmyn's. So you know there is a limit somehow. You need to be careful. We don't want you to get hurt. I do agree with Grandpa Carlisle though. I think we haven't found your limits yet because you are using all your powers on people you know."

"Yes, Uncle Jasper." All three respond together.

Alice smiles. She loves how Jasper is with the kids. Thanks to Bella all of them get to help raise the kids. Something no one thought was possible. She looks back at the kids. "We know you want your dad here, but if you just have him show up it wouldn't be good. I may not be able to see the outcome all the way, but I am sure it would be a fight. We have to think up a plan that will work for sure before we go through with it."

Mary looks between Alice and Jasper. "We just want our Dad here. The more we hear about him the more we want to meet him. Could Jazmyn bring him out here and then he just hide until we know he can come home?"

Jasper was already shaking his head no. "You know we all have different scents. You would come home with his scent on you. Your mom may not know his smell as a vampire, but the rest of us do. As soon as you came home everyone would know he was here. And your mom would worry because she would smell a vampire on you."

The kids all bow their heads. By this time they were all seated together on the rocks. Though they won't admit it, they are kind of glad they had followed them. They needed some help.

This time it is Jazmyn that responds. "We just see how sad Mom is when she sees you and Alice or any of the other couples together. We want Mom to be happy and we want to meet our Dad."

Jasper sends out some love and comfort to the children. Looks like Mary stopped blocking me as she is calming down too. Or maybe it is just because her siblings are. They are pretty connected. "I never said we wouldn't get him here somehow, I just said we need to have a better plan. I finally got her to talk to me the other day. I had been feeling such sadness from her when I took her hunting I asked her to be honest with me. The more she talked the more she reminded me of someone who has lost their mate. I have not met many vampires who have lost their mates, but Bella's feelings remind me of them. She all but admitted she still loves Edward. If he left again though, she isn't the only one she is worried about him hurting." Jasper looks at all three of the kids slowly.

They nod in understanding. He continues "But I can tell you this. She wants him here more than she doesn't. As we were talking I could feel her longing, but once she realized she was feeling it she threw her shield up so I couldn't feel it anymore." Jasper smirks. It was okay. I still felt it before she hid her feelings from me.

"I think I know how to get him here!" Alice says as she starts to bounce from excitement. "I know she is worried he will leave again, but he would NEVER be able too. He is actually on his way to Forks right now to find her and beg for her forgiveness. Of course, she is not going to be there. When he figures out she is missing he is going to go to her room to look for clues. Of course, he won't find any. Edward will steal a shirt of hers, even though it will not smell a ton like her anymore, and go to our house there. He will smell all the smells and wander around trying to figure them out. But he will lose interest in it and go sit in his room holding the shirt sobbing. Begging for someone to know where she is. He will then come up with a very dumb idea. But before he sets that plan into action we are going to have Jazmyn bring him here."

A dumb idea? I will have to ask Alice about that later. She would have said it out loud if it was okay for the kids to hear. It must be bad…

"That's great Alice, but we still have a problem. That does not explain how to get Mom to agree to bring him here." SJ states.

The older the kids get the less the call us Aunt and Uncle. It makes us all kind of sad, but we understand why. They have so many Aunts and Uncles they would be saying it all the time. I am just glad they still call Esme and Carlisle Grandma and Grandpa. "He has a point Alice. How do we get Bella to agree?" Jasper asks.

Alice is grinning and bouncing even more. "Oh, yes it does. I am going to go and tell her I am so glad she is letting Edward come meet the kids. She is going to be confused and say she hasn't decided to have him join us. I am going to panic and yell no." Alice pauses for effect.

"Jasper will come running in and asks what's wrong. I will pretend to sob into his arms and say Edward's future disappeared. You will say, but that's good it means Edward is coming here. Bella will say he's not coming here and you will gasp and say it can't be. Bella will ask what is going on." Alice pauses again.

"It starts to get fuzzy now, so I am assuming the kids and wolves are heading to see what the commotion is. Jasper you then explain the only other way for Edward's future to disappear is for him to be killed. Bella will gasp and yell 'No! We have to save him'. It goes black then, so I don't know for sure, but with her saying to save him I am sure we can convince her to let Jazmyn bring him home."

"YES!" All three kids yell as they jump up and start dancing around.

I sure hope this works, because if it doesn't something bad is going to happen to Edward and these kids are going to be heartbroken if they never get to meet him. "Well, it sounds like we have a plan. Now kids, we have to stay calm and not give anything away to anyone else." They nod excitedly at him. Jasper turns to Alice "When do we do this?"

Alice smiles "Tomorrow! He will be in Forks tomorrow. I will send the kids and wolves away to make sure nothing changes around 11 am. You don't have to be far, so make sure you can hear us talking still. Go play hide and seek or tag in the woods. Once you hear Jasper say 'it can't be' come to the house. We will need Jazmyn to bring Edward here. But kids, stay close to the wolves. Since I can't see I am not sure what he will do once he realizes he is not alone." Again, the kids nod in agreement.

"Okay, Jasper and I will head back to the house and sneak back into our room. Wait for ten minutes then come home. It will be early and that will prove to everyone you can be alone now and then. Then maybe you can be alone a little more."

Alice jumps up and gives each kid a fast hug. Jasper follows her lead and then they run home. Jasper can feel the excitement coming from Alice. Well, this will be interesting tomorrow. I can't wait for everyone to be in one place again. Now to find out what Edward's plan was…
