"we got here as fast as we could ... How is she?" Bucky said breathlessly as he and Wynry trotted up to where everyone else was waiting with a once again almost inconsolable Zed, he paced nervously around the waiting area, unable to sit still.
"She was having complications, they just took her back for an emergency c section." Eliza said.
This time, almost half the night had passed before en exhausted looking Doctor Henley came to talk with them. In her arms was a small squirming bundle wrapped in a pastel pink blanket.
Zed, who was the only one unable to sleep, jumped up immediately as the others stirred.
"Zed, meet your daughter." She said as she handed the baby to him as his friends and family gathered around him.
He gently pulled back the blanket to reveal a beautiful baby girl with bright blue eyes and a head of white hair, just like her mother.
" I do have some bad news. As I suspected, there was a lot of damage both because of her last c section, and the nature of the pregnancy and because of that, we had to remove her uterus."
"But she'll be okay ... Right?" Zed asked.
Doctor Henley smiled tiredly
"Yes, I expect her to make a full recovery." She replied
"Now, I suspect that you'll want to see her, right this way." She said as she motioned for him to follow her.
Zed swallowed hard at the sight of her once again looking so frail and weak, he quietly sat in the chair beside her bed.
"Look at our little princess, Addy. Isn't she perfect?!" He said excitedly as he held her close for her to see.
"We do make pretty kids, don't we?" She said as she stroked her daughter's hair with a shaky hand.
Her expression suddenly become saddened
"She's the last were going to have though, I'm so sorry." She said as tears welled up in her eyes.
Zed gently shifted their daughter to one arm and took her hand in his.
"I don't care about that, Addy. All I care about is that you're okay. And look, we have a beautiful little family here ... If I do say so myself." He said with a wink.
She smiled at him, he was right, they had an amazing family. And while it wouldn't be as big as they had hoped, that wouldn't make it any less fulfilling.
"It feels to good to be home." Addison said as she walk in carrying their daughter.
"Mommy! Sissy!" Zach cried as he rushed up to meet them followed by Zevon.
"He's been talking about his little sister non stop. He reminds me a lot of how excited you were when I first brought Zoey home." Zevon said with a smile.
"May I?" He asked as he held out his arms
"Of course you can!" Addison exclaimed as she handed the baby to him.
"Wow ... Look at this beautiful little princess." He said as he stroked her white hair.
"I know! Isn't she just PERFECT?!" Zed gushed proudly.
"What's her name?" Zevon asked.
"Angelina, it was my great great great grandmother's middle name." Addison said.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful young lady." Zevon said as he handed her back to Addison as their doorbell rang.
"That would be everyone, they're anxious to meet this little one here, provided you're up to it of course." Zevon said
"Of course!" Addison replied.
Zed answered the door and in came Eliza, Wyatt, Willa, Wynter, Wynry ,Bree and Bonzo.
"Oh my gosh! Look at her!" Wynter gushed
"She's perfect, right?" Zed said proudly
"I don't think there is a word to describe how perfect she is! I can't wait to see her flying high through the air in her cute little cheerleading uniform!" Bree squealed
"That's IF she wants to be a cheerleader." Addison said
"Oh she will be, look at her, Addy, she looks JUST like you! She'll be your mini me for sure!" Bree said with conviction.
"Za!" Bonzo agreed.
"Of course I'll support her in whatever she wants to do, but I have to admit, it would be great if she followed in my footsteps." Addison said.
"She will, I can feel it." Bree replied as Addison suddenly let out a huge yawn.
"And I think that's our cue." Eliza said as they all stood
"Thanks for coming, you guys." She said as she hugged them all goodbye.
Only Wynry hung back.
"Everything okay?" Addison asked as she put a hand on her shoulder
"No ...yes... I mean... I need some ... Advice." She said.
"Sure, what's up?" Addison asked as she led her to the couch.
She blushed
"Actually... I was hoping to talk to Zed." She said.
"Oh ... Okay." She said as she beckoned him over.
"Apparently, she needs to talk to you about something." Addison said as she took Zach by the hand and walked him up to bed with Angelina cradled in her arms.
Wynry watched Zed as he watched them go, the love and the devotion that showed so plainly on his face almost brought tears to her eyes, partly because she knew she would probably never have that for herself.
"So what did you want to talk to me about that you didn't want to tell Addy?" He said
"It's not that I didn't want to tell her ... It's just ... I needed the advice of someone ... like me ... You know ..."
"A monster." Zed finished for her.
"Yeah ..." She said as she explained everything that had happened that night at Bucky's house several weeks ago.
"I'm just ... I could've hurt him, you know? I'd never forgive myself if I did!" She said as tears spilled down her cheeks.
"Have you talked about any of this with Bucky?" Zed asked
Her face fell as she averted her gaze.
"No ... I've been avoiding him since it happened because first, I was so afraid I would lose control and hurt him, now I'm afraid because he probably doesn't want to talk to me ever again." She said.
"I can't say whether he will or he won't, but you do need to talk to him, Wynry, he deserves to know why you've been ghosting him." Zed said seriously.
Wynry blew out a sigh
"You're right ... of course. " She said as he walked her to the door.
"You know, you're not half bad at that advice stuff, either." Addison said as he joined her in bed.
"I have my moments." He replied with a grin as she snuggled up against him.
Now if they only could work it out.
"One thing's for sure, I TOTALLY understand the fear of hurting the person you love." He said as he gave her a gentle squeeze.
"And she has to be especially careful, especially around the time of the full moon, because if she bites him and draws blood, he could become a werewolf, too." He added.
"Addison couldn't help but feel a sharp pang of worry for her cousin at that statement
Zed put his hand over hers
"They'll be okay, Remember when we went through almost the same thing? They'll find a way, just like we did." He said
She smiled up at him. "You seem so sure."
He shrugged. "What can I say? I'm a romantic."
She laughed. "Yes, yes indeed, you are." She replied.
Bucky sat on the couch, the same couch where he and Wynry had shared such an amazing, wonderful, passionate moment just weeks ago.
He felt a blush heat up his cheeks at the mere thought of it.
Back when things between them has been amazing ... It seemed like so long ago and like only yesterday all at the same time.
Then she just ... disappeared, he tried calling and texting, but he had gotten no answer, she had just ... ghosted him.
He suddenly stood.
He didn't know what had happened, but he was determined to find out.
Willa stopped in her tracks so abruptly that Wynter and a few other wolves ran smack into her.
Her hackles rose and her lips curled into a snarl as she caught the familiar scent of expensive cologne.
"What is it, Willa?" Wyatt asked.
Willa didn't answer him, she suddenly let out a deep, thunderous growl as she bolted back in the direction of the den.
Bucky paused at the ruined remains of the silver fence that had imprisoned the werewolves for so many years.
So much had changed since then, that thought further steeled his resolve, and he pressed on.
The entrance to the den loomed in front of him, its gaping maw resembling a giant, snarling wolf.
Several blurs suddenly flash in front of him, as Willa, Wyatt and Wynter suddenly seemed to materialize in front of him,, blocking his path.
"You've got a lot of nerve coming here." Willa snarled, her eyes glowing.
Bucky felt a sharp stab of fear in his gut, because he knew she was MORE than capable of ripping his throat out ... Or worse.
But an image of Wynry flashed in his mind, steeling his resolve. He straightened his posture and stepped slightly into her space, causing her to take a step back in surprise.
Huh ... Maybe Wynry was right, maybe she was more bark than bite after all?
"I'm here to see Wynry, I think I at least deserve an explanation WHY she ghosted me." He said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.
Willa barked out a humorless laugh
"She ghost YOU? I think you've got that backwards."
"Is that what she told you?" Bucky countered, anger rising within him.
Willa opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again. She looked to Wyatt, who shrugged. She blew out a sigh as she deflated slightly.
"Actually, she wouldn't tell us what happened... We just ... Well ... Assumed." She said, somewhat ashamed as she averted her eyes.
"That's what I figured." Bucky spat, scowling at her
"You've held a grudge against Seabrook for judging you unfairly and yet you've done the exact same thing to us, even when we try to change, or make things right. You can't keep low-key blaming us for what our ancestors did hundreds of years ago, it's not fair. And yes, what they did was terrible and wrong, but that was THEM ... Not US. We're not like them." He said
A long silence settled between them until Willa finally broke it.
"You're right ... About all of it. We WERE blaming you guys for what happened to us all those years ago ... I'm so sorry, Bucky. And I'm sorry for how I treated you, it's just ... She came back from your house in tears and wouldn't say what happened, and I just assumed you had broken up with her or something."
Bucky blew out a sigh.
"I wish she HAD talked to you, maybe you could've helped." He said sadly
"What HAPPENED?" Wyatt interjected
"That's it, I don't really know, one minute were having this ... Amazing day at the beach, and the next, she's running off into the night, and then totally ghosted me." He said
Willa however narrowed her eyes at him.
"Why do I get the feeling you're not telling us the whole story? What else happened between you two?
Bucky's face turned a deep shade of red.
"That ... That's between me and her." He said defensively.
Wyatt's eyes suddenly grew as wide as saucers
"Oh man! Did you guys ... You know...!?" He trailed off as he gestured dramatically
"What?! NO! I mean ... We never got that far." Bucky said as his face flushed an even deeper red.
Willa's mouth suddenly turned up into a small smile of understanding.
"I'll be right back, you wait here." She barked as she trotted into the den and out of sight.
Notes: I'm sorry for the abrupt ending, but if I didn't end it here it would be WAY too long, and I also wanted to wait to start Bucky and Wynry's discussion in a new chapter so I could take my time with it, and wouldn't have to split it up. Also thanks for all the follows, favorites, and reviews, they really to make my day! Love you guys
