Aizawa fought the urge to sigh. He'd made plenty of mistakes in his life. However this would not continue to be one of them.

"Higurashi, if things are dangerous enough for you to sustain such an injury then you need to come to us." He pushed at her defenses. The girl had a deal of potential but it was her own sense of self-doubt that shackled her progress.

Frankly speaking, he knew Recovery Girl had been right when she blamed him for Kagome's issues with self-confidence. He'd spent entirely too much time trying to force her to move beyond her insecurities through tough-love methods. He hadn't given much time to build her up first before working with her. That'd been his mistake.

Kagome shook her head, "I said that I'm fine. I'm not living by myself anymore so that's not going to happen again."

The girl's answer was cryptic. He wasn't sure if he liked the implication that was left unsaid, however he would look into that later with the other teachers. Right now he had one other goal that needed to be fulfilled.

His eyes thinned at that, "That doesn't change what'd happened. We will not risk your safety."

Her lips curled—as if she were having a difficult time believing those words.

"I appreciate the concern but I said that I'm fine." Azure eyes flicked to life. "I'm not going to give up or run away from my goals. I'm here to stay."

There it was.

The flash of determination he'd been trying to draw out of her for so long. He saw it once the day she first arrived at U.A. That was the true reason he'd kept her on as his student. He wanted to see that determination grow into something much more.

Aizawa sighed through his nose, "Then we'll refocus your training. We put a heavy emphasis on your technical ability with your quirk. However I believe that it'd be beneficial if we switched gears to your physical abilities."

Kagome perked up at that, "Switch gears?"

"Recovery Girl emphasized the danger of overusing your ability yesterday. If you cannot fight with your quirk directly then let's change your fighting style into one that only uses Crystallize as an amplification of your attacks—not the main focus."

Kagome scratched at her chin, "You mean like using Crystallize on small parts of my body during an attack to strengthen the blow."

Aizawa nodded, "Correct."

He would take Recovery Girl's advice.

What Kagome needed now was guidance. If she wasn't willing to trust them with her protection then at the very least he'd teach her how to protect herself. Until the day she could control her quirk effectively.

She met his gaze fiercely, "Let's do this."

He had a feeling she'd say that.
