*Hello* - Cybertronian Talking

It's the Episode Scrapheap but w/Raina!

Also sorry if she isn't too involved. This is her second day with the Bots plus this is a new sort of chapter to write so I'm not wanting to change the canon stuff too much yet.

Also Also, this story is about Raina so where ever she is, the story is. Meaning there will be missing scenes from the actual episode.

Miko, Raina, and Bulkhead jammed out to the rock music as they rode back to base. For some reason, Arcee wasn't there to pick up today so Jack rode with Raf and Bee instead. And today was a Saturday!

Once they got into base, Ratchet, Optimus, and Arcee were all standing at an open groundbridge.

"Miss us Docbot?" Miko asked as she got out.

Ratchet groaned in response.

"Shouldn't they be in school?" He asked no one. "On a Saturday?! We have the whole weekend off! To spend with you~" she said before grabbing Raina and heading up to the human area. Ratchet placed his servo on his hip, looking down in disappointment.

"I wasn't expecting to carpool. What gives, Arcee?" Jack spoke up, walking towards her.

"Tag team Jack. It's my turn for exploration duty." She explained, walking up to him.

"Oh, too bad. It's a beautiful day for a ride. Would hate for you to feel guilty leaving me indoors." Jack suggested secretly, crossing his arms.

"ARCTIC exploration duty" Arcee clarified.

"Indoors where it's warm." Jack suddenly said, walking away. Raf then walked up.

"The Arctic? I've always wanted to see snow." Raf said in slight 'Aw'.

"I would invite you to join, Rafael, but the conditions are too extreme. Even for we Autobots." Optimus explained to the boy. Arcee slightly nodded in agreement.

"I...understand." Raf said smiling.

Optimus and Arcee turned around before the mech stopped. He turned back around and spoke again.

"But I will bring you back a snowball." Optimus offered.

"That would be awesome!" Raf said excitedly. Optimus smiled under his battle mask as he and Arcee went through the groundbridge.

"Transport Complete." Ratchet announced out loud before the groundbridge controls shot out a burst of sparks. The event causing Ratchet to flinch back and cover his face.

"By the Allspark" he said as the groundbridge made a series of deactivation sounds. The screen glitching uncontrollably.

Miko, Raina, Jack, and Raf walked up the stairway and towards the couch.

"So, what do you guys think we should do today?" Miko asked Bumblebee and Bulkhead. Bumblebee proceeded to make a movement with his hands. He pretended he was playing with a controller in his servos as Raf translated it.

"Video game tournament! Last one standing wins!" Raf said hopping on one foot excitedly.

"Bulkhead! Bumblebee!" Ratchet shouted, gaining their attention. "Here! Now!" He ordered. Bumblebee gave an apologetic look and beep to Raf as he and Bulkhead walked off.

Raf watched, while also reaching his hand for the game controller. It got snatched by Miko who challenged Jack to a game.

"Prepare to be destroyed." She said, hovering the controller in front of the teen. Jack groaned "yeah, not really my thing Miko".

"Oh? Scared of losing? To a girl~" she taunted. Jack sighed and took the controller then. "Bring it!" He said as the game started up. "No mercy" Miko added, focusing on the game.

Jack glanced over to Raf who looked disappointed and bored at that point.

"Hey Raf. You wanna take Miko on for me?" He offered, holding the controller out.

"Nah, I have stuff to do." He replied glum. He got up and walked away as Jack and Miko got back to racing. "Hoo-Yeah!" Miko exclaimed.

Raina looked at the two before looking back at Raf.

"Mind if I join ya?" She asked, catching up to Raf. "Sure" he said gladly. Him and Raina walked off into the halls of the base, deciding to play pretend. They were in the Arctic, exploring its snowy terrain.

Right now, they were caught up in a blizzard.

"Temperatures sub-zero and dropping. Got to..get back...to base!" He said strained. Shielding his face from the pretend snow. Raina was pretending beside him, copying his actions. Both of them imitating wind blowing.

The two immediately stopped when they heard a metal clank. The looked at each other, then around them. The noticed a screw rolling around. They gave each other shrugs of confusion as Raf went to pick it up. Then they heard more clinking, almost like scampering, from above. The looked up, only to see nothing but the pipes and air systems. They heard the same noise again but in front of them now.

"Hello?" Raf asked, fixing his glasses. Raina walked up to him, placing her hands on his shoulders and looking around, a bit scared.

Then they both jumped as a sudden bang behind them rang out. Their eyes darted around, looking for anything that would lead to the solution but nothing. Then Raf back up only to trip on something. He let out a scream as he landed on the ground.

Raina bent down to help him up only for them both to be met with big blueish purple eyes. Raf jumped back into Raina who fell on to the floor. Raf nervously chuckled as the small creature scampered up to them.

"Where did you come from?" Raf asked it. "Raf, be careful." Raina whispered. He looked back and nodded as the two got up. Raf laughed, noticing how cute it was.

"It's kind of cute." Raf said to Raina. She looked at the big round eyes that took up most its face, that rested on a tiny body. She agreed with Raf who looked back at the small thing.

"The Autobots never said anything about pets." He thought out loud. Then he reached for his pocket and took out the screw from earlier.

"You want to play fetch?" He asked the creature. It jumped up and down excitedly, running around in circles in anticipation. Raf then threw the object as far as he could, watching with Raina as the small being chased after it.

"Good boy. Go get it!" He cheered. Then a sudden whirring sound came as the creature suddenly started to eat it.

Raina and Raf panicked as it did. "No! Don't eat that! You're gonna choke!" He shouted worryingly at it. "Please stop eating it!" Raina added.

Then the creature turned around and seemed un-phased by their reactions or it eating the screw.

"Or...not?" Raf questioned. Raina looked dumbfounded at this tiny being as it whirred and rubbed itself against Raf. He fell in love with it, beaming at the cutie. Raina did too, cupping her hands and going "Awwww".

Raf started to walk away with the creature following anxiously. Jumping up and down in front of Raf before speeding off. Then returning to jump up and down some more.

Raina laughed at the creature but heard crackling behind her. Turning around, she saw a part of the wall opened with wires cut and sparking. Smiling, she didn't do or plan to say anything about it. She quickly caught up with Raf who was now cradling the thing in his arms.

Then the lights cut out for a second before turning back on. "Power failure?" Raina suggested to Raf who shrugged back.

When the entered the main part of the base, Raina could hear Jack and Miko.

"Aw. It wiped out our game." She said sarcastically. Jack scoffed at that. "But...I was winning!" He protested. "Bummer" Miko replied with more sarcasm and no care.

Raina and Raf snickered at the two's banter. "I think we should show the bots." Raf suggested, looking down at the thing. Raina agreed, cooing at its still form. It's eyes slowly shut as Raf and Raina continued towards them.

Another flickering of the lights happened, as the two walked closer to the bots. Their conversation becoming more clear.

"Might be the main grid." Ratchet suggested. "Hopefully it isn't a substation malfunction."

"Hey guys! Look what I found!" Raf shouted.

"We're busy-AHHH!" Ratchet yelled back annoyed but shocked when he looked up. He stared directly at the creature Raf was holding in absolute fright.

Him, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee stumbled backwards. Bulkhead and Bee aiming their guns out and towards Raf. "Whoa whoa whoa!" Bulkhead shouted frightened.

"Hey hey! What's with you guys?" Miko stepped in. Her, Jack, and Raina stepping in front of Raf, raising their arms in front of them for Raf's protection. Another reason for Raina to hate the Autobots. Aiming their guns at a kid? Come on!

"Scraplet! SCRAPLET!" Bulkhead shouted loudly, waving his blaster around.

"What's a scraplet?" Raf asked, jumping up and over his friend's arms to see the bots.

"The most dangerous vermin ever to crawl upon the face of Cybertron." Ratchet explained horrified at the sighting.

Raina heard about scraplets. How they came in groups and ate metal. Which was bad for Cybertronians since they were metal. She also heard how they ate every last bit of a Cybertronian. She slightly shook at that, thankfully not noticed by anyone.

Jack and Miko however, exchanged confused and dumbfounded expressions, lowering their arms and standing up straight.

"This? Are you kidding me?" Jack asked shocked and slightly amused.

"You're giant robots! Scrappy here is...teeny." Miko said making a small space between her fingers. So badly, Raina wanted to tell them that the size didn't matter.

"You have no idea of the damage that 'teeny' thing can do!" Bulkhead retorted frightened. Bumblebee nodded agreeing to Bulkhead's statement.

"Aw, he wouldn't hurt anything." Raf said looking down at the scraplet. It opened its eyes, staring at the 3 bots in front of it. Then it's mouth suddenly opened to reveal rows of sharp teeth. It jumped out of Raf's hand and towards the bots.

The 4 kids looked in shock as it seemingly dodged Bee's shots. It eventually landed on him and ate away at his armour. Bee jumped and fell back, panicking at the small thing chewing away. The 4 kids looked in horror and disgust as it did. Bumblebee then grabbed it with his servo only for it to escape and chew his forearm platings. He swatted it off, making it land a few meters away. It got up, ready to attack again when Raf suddenly charged at it with a crowbar.

He whacked at it, killing it at the second blow but continued to smash it to bits. He hit it 5 more times before Jack stopped him.

"Whoa, easy there killer." Jack said, taking the crowbar away from the 12 year old.

Raf panted as Miko placed her hands on his shoulders in comfort. Raf gasped and ran towards his guardian, worryingly.

"Whoa. Did not see that coming." Miko said to Raina and Jack who both agreed. "Shouldn't under estimate what the bots tell us is dangerous now." Raina said trying to lighten the mood. Miko and Jack let out slight laughs as they watched Raf fuss over Bee. Making sure he was alright and apologizing.

"Only a mesh wound. He'll live." Ratchet said to Raf. "Unfortunately" Raina muttered to herself.

"Now do you believe me? All scraplets do is dismantle machinery and eat anything metal-especially living metal!" Bulkhead explained further and more calm to Raf.

The other three kids eventually joined in with the small gathering around Bumblebee.

"Well, bug squashed, game over, right?" Jack asked Bulkhead. "No." Ratchet stepped in.

"When it comes to scraplets there's never just one. And I fear I know how they got in here." Ratchet said, glancing behind him at the hallway.

The group made their way over to a hangar section, as Ratchet used his welder to look inside a huge half melted pod.

(Why didn't he use a flashlight when they clearly have them? I don't know man)

"It's a trap-a scraplet trap." He said, looking around the inside of the pod, seeing if any were still there.

"Uh an EMPTY scraplet trap." Bulkhead corrected, scared while looking inside.

"Most likely ejected into space eons ago, only to wind up in the Arctic where the temperature kept them in stasis." Ratchet concluded, keeping a calm manner.

"Until we brought the thaw." Jack added.

"Now they're wide awake and ready to brunch." Miko mentioned as well.

'Maybe they can take out the Autobots, leave Optimus and Arcee to freeze to death, and Decepticons win.' Raina thought. But then she remembered how scraplets ate metal. Well currently, she had a nice patch of it on her skin. Now she had to defend herself. She also awoke a fear that she should have never brought up to her attention.

"So...how many are we talking about?" Raf asked nervously.

"Thousands." Ratchet replied, transforming back to his servo. "And the power malfunctions and groundbridge damage are sure signs that their infestation is well underway." Ratchet said, thinking about the damage already done to base.

The group went back to the main part as Ratchet went to try and contact Optimus and Arcee.

Raina was pondering whether or not she should mention having metal on her skin. She would except how would she explain it. Guess she should start working on a story.

"Ratchet to Optimus, can you read me? We have a situation." Ratchet tried to tell Optimus but only received static back. Then the screens completely glitched, leaving Ratchet frustrated.

"The scraplets have already gotten into the com-link system!" Ratchet announced the group, hitting the controls in frustration.

"If we don't eradicate these creatures immediately, they will reduce the entire base to a scrap heap!" He explained worryingly.

"I say we bug out of here and let them keep it!" Bulkhead piped in, not suggesting but pleading. Bumblebee agreeing to the idea.

"Evacuation is not an option. If we don't get the groundbridge back online stat, Optimus and Arcee will perish." Ratchet pointed out to the mechs.

"They...will?" Jack asked, worried for his guardian.

Miko suddenly got upset and walked towards Bulkhead. "Bulkhead, you never run!"

"Miko, you haven't seen a swarm of these things devour a bot. I have. They pick you apart from the inside out. Going for the small, juicy bits first. Fuse by fuse, circuit by circuit, till there's nothing left! And I mean nothing...not even your optics." Bulkhead described gruesomely.

The kids all exchanged worried glances.

"You have to let us help." Jack said, not letting them have a choice.

"We're not made of metal!" Raf pointed out.

"Yeah, the scraplets can't hurt us." Miko added.

Raina shifted awkwardly, catching Jack's attention.

"Raina, what is it?" He asked, looking at the worried girl.

"Nothing just...worried for them." Raina said, trying to make it sound not suspicious. It was good enough for Jack to believe, thankfully.

"Typically I find your fleshiness to be your least engaging quality...but it would appear to provide an advantage under these extremes." Ratchet mentioned, studying the humans.

"Ok good" Jack said relieved. "We pair off. One bot, One human. I'll watch your back while you repair the groundbridge." Jack said, planning it all out.

"And we go on a bug hunt" Miko said pointing to Bulkhead and Bumblebee behind her. Bulkhead groaned like a child would when not wanting to while Bee just shuttered at the thought.

"Oh boy" Bulkhead thought out loud with disappointment.

Raf went with Bumblebee to explore one section while Miko and Raina went with Bulkhead for another section. Jack was on the defence while Ratchet repaired the groundbridge.

As Miko walked with her wrench and Raina with her baseball bat, Bulkhead trailed behind with a flashlight and one of his blasters out.

"We get to be your bodyguard for once. How cool is that!?" Miko said, ready to smash some scraplets.

"Miko, it would be cool except it's not for a good reason." Raina pointed out. Miko just ignored her comment.

"Raf found the first one here, right?" Bulkhead asked nervously.

Then the light went out, causing Bulkhead to let out a high pitched scream. Both Miko and Raina got startled by the sudden reaction as the lights went back on.

"Did you just scream like a little girl?" Miko asked in a taunting tone. Surely she would use that for blackmail and teasing later.

"No!...maybe...can we talk about this later?" Bulkhead quickly said. Miko shrugged her shoulders in a 'whatever' manner. Raina was just snickering to herself.

"Raina! It's not that funny!" Bulkhead said defensively.

"It sort of is, come on. Admit it Bulkhead." She said looking behind her with a big smile.

The three kept walking and eventually turned into another corridor. Then Bulkhead heard clinking from above. He turned suddenly, blaster aimed but saw nothing.

"Take 'er easy Bulkhead. Just stay focused." Miko reassured the former wrecker. "Everything's gonna be-" Miko was interrupted when Bulkhead heard more clanking and shot above him. He fired 3 shots, the last one causing cables to come lose and dangle.

Then he screamed again. Miko and Raina turned around, ready to fight but looked absolutely dumbfounded by their sight.

Bulkhead was swatting away at cables while letting out more high pitched screams.

"Ok wish I hadn't seen that." Miko said to Raina who agreed laughing more.

"Bulkhead your fine! It's just a bunch of cables." Miko said trying to hold back her own laughter.

Bulkhead immediately stopped and looked up. Realizing Miko was correct he went "Oh, right. Cables." He pulled down on one of them. Then scraplets started to pour out like beads, giving him a real reason to scream now.

Miko and Raina immediately went to work on swinging the scraplets. It was a few mins till they got all of them. Raina suggested they return to Ratchet. Bulkhead, not even thinking about it for a second longer, agreed.

As the three made their way back, they bumped into Raf and Bumblebee. The poor scout also got more bits of him chewed off from the scraplets.

When they entered the main part, Bulkhead called out for Ratchet.

"Ratchet, get the patch kit. We're leaking energon like-WHOA!"

Bulkhead noticed the many more scraplets flying their way. All the kids looked up and readied their tools for the incoming wave. Bumblebee started blasting at the horde, only shooting down a few. Bulkhead took out his wrecking ball and swung at the bunch.

"Take this!" He shouted before looking at his wrecking ball. There was nothing on it but his other servo was crawling with the small bugs. He screamed again, flailing his arms around. All the kids went to the bots aid, smashing and killing every scraplet they could.

As Raina smacked a scraplet, it hit against the wall but it didn't die. Then it looked at her and began whirring it's sharp teeth. It flew directly at her which made her freak out and run away from the bots. A couple more followed their scraplet friend and chased after her.

She was at the other side of the room when she remembered the metal on her skin. She swung at the three scraplets with one blow, causing them to fall on the ground. She proceeded to smash them till their optics off-lined. Then she ran back and helped the kids with the rest. If she didn't help, they would get suspicious as to why, so she didn't have much of a choice.

After a few mins, the scraplets were down. The kids all went to make sure they weren't alive. Jack used the fire extinguisher while the kids used their weapons still. The three bots groaned in pain, sitting near the monitors.

"We get them all?" Jack asked looking at the hundreds of smashed scraplets scattering the ground. Raina gave a thumbs up but whirring down the halls caught everyone's attention. The sound echoing through the vents and walls of the base.

"Hardly." Ratchet said glancing around. "These were just scouts."

Bumblebee buzzed, dropping his helm back in defeat.

"So, the rest of them know we're in here?" Bulkhead nervously asked Ratchet.

"And if we allow ourselves to become their next meal, Optimus and Arcee will never make it back home." Ratchet added, feeling more weakened in his state.

Raina secretly hoped the scraplets would emerge victorious from this. And also not try to eat her metal skin at the same time.

"We must get the groundbridge operational." Ratchet concluded.

"Then we can use it to send the scraplets anywhere on Earth." Raf thought out loud.

"Why not back to the Arctic?" Jack suggested. "We already know they don't do cold." He said further, looking down at the fire extinguisher Ratchet suggested he use earlier.

"Sweet. One-stop shopping." Miko agreed to Jack's plan.

"Given the body mass of the scraplets, sub-zero temperatures should freeze them on contact." Ratchet thought.

"So think Ratchet, think!" He started talking to himself.

He put his servo on the back of his helm while thinking aloud. "If the groundbridge is still down, there must be a breach in the energon fuel line!" The sudden realization hitting him.

Bumblebee attempted to get up only to fall back down seconds later.

"If we weren't breaching, one of us could get back there and fix it." Bulkhead pointed out after Bumblebee's failed attempt.

"Where do we find it?" Jack asked, as him, Raf, Miko, and Raina stepped up. Weapons ready. "And how do we fix it." Raf asked, walking up to Ratchet.

After Ratchet explained it very confusingly but calmly to Raf, the kids went to go find the leak. Raina voted to stay behind with the bots, just in case.

Now she was standing guard for them as the kids ran off into the halls filled with scraplets. She didn't want to do this, being stuck with them was the last thing she wanted. If they survived after this, the Decepticons were so going to know. They would have a good laugh at that.

"So, if we get-When we get the groundbridge open, do we send the creepy-crawlies out or bring our bots in?" Bulkhead asked Ratchet.

"Optimus and Arcee will be fresh meat. If we bring them in first, the scraplets will have no reason to leave. We'll need bait." Ratchet said drowsy.

"Where are we gonna get bait?! The scraplets already helped themselves to everything in here!" Bulkhead replied frustrated.

"I'm sure there's something." Raina spoke up. She rarely talked willingly out loud, especially without Miko so the bots were shocked at first.

"Like what? Bulkheads right Raina." Ratchet spoke up. Raina looked down, knowing they were right but wanted to give them high hopes. Wait was she seriously trying to help them?!

Raina turned around quickly before the bots noticed her sudden mood change. She gripped the baseball bat in anger. Why did she always feel pity for those she's not supposed to like. She already learned the hard way yet here she was trying to help them.

She turned back around, causing her hair to flip to her back again. Now it revealed the patch of metal on her skin that peeked above her shirt.

"Wait, what's that?" Ratchet asked, pointing at Raina's chest. She looked down confused but suddenly covered it with her hair.

"Nothing." She said quickly, turning around and walking a few steps away.

That's when the four heard the scraplets whirring away, the sound growing louder. Meaning they were coming. That's when the vents bursted open, revealing hundreds of scraplets flying through the air. They swarmed above like hawks would on their prey.

The bots looked up in horror, bracing themselves for the attack. Raina shifted her grip on the baseball bat, ready to swing at the things. Bulkhead ducked back down, Ratchet looked around tiredly, and Bumblebee darted his optics around the ceiling at the swarms.

Then the kids came running in at full speed.

"Ratchet! All systems go!" Jack yelled. "Fire it up!" Miko exclaimed after him.

Ratchet got, groaning as he recited the words weakly. "Groundbridge...activated." He fell forward while pulling the lever down on the control panel.

Bulkhead looked up at the scraplets still swarming from above. Then a beam fell down right beside the group, thanks to the creatures. Bulkhead looked at the groundbridge, debating to himself before making a final decision.

"Bait, huh?" He glanced at the scraplets before getting up and walking towards the bridge. He started waving his arm around to get their attention, which proved successful.

"Ready for the main course?" He asked determined his plan was going to work. The scraplets opened their mouths, ready to feed, as they flew after him.

"Come and get it!" He shouted as he ran towards the groundbridge as fast as he could, limping along the way.

Bumblebee got up, leaning on his arms. He looked worryingly at Bulkhead but got pushed down by Ratchet as the scraplets passed overhead.

Everyone watched as all the scraplets went through the vortex. Then the kids cheered in victory after all of them were gone. Well Raina faked her cheer.

Soon, Ratchet got everyone into medbay. Arcee and Bumblebee lied down on the berths while himself, Optimus, and Bulkhead sat on the side. The kids helped out as well, checking vitals and their conditions.

"Report Bio-circuitry status." Ratchet said to Jack. "Levels are rising." Jack reported back.

"Excellent. Rafael, keep a close watch on Bumblebee's electro-pulse monitor. Miko, check Bulkhead's interface patch." Ratchet commanded each of the kids.

"It's steady" Raf reported. "Looking good!" Miko chimed with a thumbs up.

"Perhaps you should get some rest yourself, old friend. You saved quite a few lives today." Optimus said smiling gently at Ratchet.

"It...wasn't all my doing. We're just fortunate that this infestation happened...on a Saturday." Ratchet mentioned. Grateful that the humans were present for once.

"Our humans friends may be small, but they are strong." He complimented. As if on cue, Miko screamed super loud and high pitched.

"Scraplet?!" Jack asked as him and Raf got on defence. Raina stared at her best friend, laughing to death as Miko answered.

"SPIDER! Is it on me?!" She continued to shriek, hopping around and looking at her body. Running away from the group. Raina was dying on the floor, then noticing the spider herself. She got up, picking the tiny thing up herself.

"Did she just scream like a little girl?" Bulkhead asked, a bit teasingly.

"Yep. And at such a cute little itty bitty thing. You should be outside little guy." Raina cooed at the spider crawling in her hand.

Optimus and Ratchet exchanges glances while Jack and Raf just looked disappointed at Miko's reaction. Jack even dropped his pipe and crossed his arms.

"Raina." Ratchet called, getting her attention. She turned around and he spoke again.

"Earlier, I saw something and don't say it was nothing again. My optics work just fine. Now what was that on your chassis-chest." He asked sternly.

Everyone gave a confused glance at Ratchet then Raina who did not want to be in this position right now.

"Honestly Ratchet, it's nothing." She said nervously smiling. "If I have to pin you down and look my self I will." Ratchet threatened.

Raina sighed defeated. She really hates the Autobots now. She moved her hair and slightly pulled her shirt to reveal some of the metal patch.

"It's just there since my skin didn't come back. That's all. It's nothing." Raina spitted out annoyed. Ratchet looked a bit horrified at the fact a human had metal but gathered himself up.

"Wait. You had metal on you the entire time? The scraplets could have attacked you!" Jack said worryingly at Raina.

"They did but they didn't stand a chance. Besides, they were more focused on the juicier metal." Raina said pointing to the bots.

"How? If you don't mind." Raf asked, looking at the patch peaking through.

"Forest fire. I lost more than just skin that night. That's why it's nothing." Raina moped, holding her arms close to her chest. Raf nodded, placing a hand on her arm and smiling up at her. She smiled back before going back to topic of the bots.

"How are you all feeling?" She asked. Everyone gave off their own answer, all saying they were doing good or fine. It's not like Raina cared but she needed the attention off of her.

She noticed how she started to interact more with the bots instead of being quiet and conserved all time. They noticed too and were happy she was opening up. She wasn't, she felt like she was being to vulnerable. Like at any moment she could slip out the wrong thing. Or they discovered something about her that she didn't want them knowing. What she feared the most was that she was going to like them.

In all honesty, she already did. She tried to suppress it and remind herself of everything she had witnessed and heard about. She hated the fact she liked them. At the end of the day, she felt guilty for not wanting to like them but she had her own family, the Decepticons.
