Alex's P.O.V

I was making my way over to the Grill when I noticed a man on the other side of the square staring at me. I squinted my eyes at him as I walked closer to the entrance and looked down to grab the door handle of the Grill. As I began to open it, I looked up toward the man to see he was gone. I looked around the town square for him again, but I didn't see him anywhere. I felt a chill down my spine at the thought of someone following me and walked into the Grill.

As I walked in, I was instantly met with chatter amongst people who I've never met. I spotted Alaric talking to Damon at the bar and started to make my way over to them. I shook my head, putting any thought of the stranger in the back of my head, and remembered why I was here in the first place. Mason wanted to tell us something, so my eerie stalker can wait. I stood in between Damon and Alaric.

"Does anyone want to explain to me what's going on?" I asked. The bartender went to hand Damon a glass of bourbon, but a hand grabbed it before he could. We all turn and see Mason standing there.

"Mason!" Alaric said shocked.

"God, I miss whiskey." He said to us. Manson then takes the glass and smashed on Damon's head which made Damon looked at Alaric.

"Told ya." He said to Ric. I stepped in between Mason and Damon before either of them did something. Mason sat down and I stayed standing while he ordered a shot from the bar. Damon got a text and mumbled, "I'm never going to hear the end of that damn necklace." I turned and looked at who he was texting back to see it was Caroline. I wonder why she wants the necklace?

"One of you will pay for this, right?" I looked at Mason holding out a shot glass to us. "Cheers." He said before taking the shot.

"Let's get to it." Mason looked at my older brother curiously. "I killed you. You want revenge. Get in line." Damon said to him.

"Actually, I want an apology." He said to him and I chuckled lightly.

"Good luck with that," Alaric said to him with a laugh.

"Don't you have a family to haunt?" Damon asked. "You know your nephew has turned into a mindless hybrid Minion."

"That's why I'm here. To help Tyler." Mason told us and I scoffed.

"Well, sorry to break it to you, but Tyler can't be helped. At least not while Klaus is alive. Which is, like, always." I told him. "So why don't you tell us what you want before I send you back to wherever you came from." Mason gave me a smug smile.

"This is why I like you," Mason said. "There's a weapon that could kill Klaus."

"What?" I said. "Where is it?"

"I'm not saying until your older brother apologizes," Mason answered and I flashed my golden eyes at him which took him by surprise. "You're a hybrid."

"Yeah, and I suggest you don't piss me off," I said.

"Look, this doesn't need to get messy if your brother just apologizes," Mason stated and I looked at Damon.

"Fine then don't tell us. Tyler will remain as Klaus's slave for the rest of eternity." O smiled at Mason slightly, "And you will disappear from existence again." I alluded, and there was a silence between the four of us. Mason then smiled and stood up.

"You two," Mason gestured towards Damon and me. "Meet me at the old Lockwood cellar. Bring a shovel." He said to us.

"What are you going to do? Make my sister watch as you bury me alive?" My brother asked.

"Don't tempt me." Mason laughs before he leaves and Damon looks at Alaric and I. He then turned back towards the bar and asked for another glass of bourbon. I sat down next to him and ordered the same thing. We sat in awkward, yet comfortable, silence. 'When did ghost become part of our daily lives?' I wondered to myself, as I brought a glass of bourbon to my lips. I turned to Damon and smiled as I finished my drink.

I placed my glass down and tensed up when I felt someone watching me again. I didn't turn around entirely cause I didn't want to alarm Damon or Alaric. I looked over my shoulder and noticed the same man from early. He was sitting at a booth with his body turned directly towards me. How long has he been watching me? I turned to Damon with a small sigh and tight-lipped smile.

"I'll see you at the cellar and bring the shovel," I said. Damon watched as I stood up, before going back to blankly staring out into nowhere, and I walked out of the Grill.

I started to walk towards the woods, to get to the cellular when I heard footsteps a few feet behind me. I made a sharp turned into the alley before speeding away to hide. When my stalker appeared, I rolled my eyes. Ok, that's it! I sped up and pinned him to the wall by his neck while my hybrid face came out as a growled at him. He was a bit taller than me and had dirty blond hair that was a bit messy in the front. He had a strong jawline and dark brown eyes.

"You know it's impolite to stalk someone," I said, with a sinister smile.

"I was told to keep an eye on you." He blurted.

"And who exactly told you to do that?" I inquired.

"Klaus?" I let go of his throat and took a step back. So now he's sending his newly hybrid slaves to follow me? He looked up at me before he started to speak. "He wanted to know if you were okay, I think? He wasn't quite clear about the why just said to follow to you and report back...?" He said - no questioned - timidly.

"Ok, so exactly how long have you been following me?"

"Since this morning." He answered.

"And how much of all...this," I waved my arms around me to tell him what I meant. "Have you seen and/or listen to?" I asked. He didn't look me in the eye nor did he answered me and I sighed. "Great. So let me guess, you're meant to stay with me 'till Klaus returns to Mystic Falls right?" He nodded slowly like he was unsure of the answer he was giving me. "Ok, then you're not going to tell him about this. You're only going to tell him that I will call him after I deal with my own shit and that I don't need a babysitter to protect me." I then snapped his neck and sped off into the woods.

~At the Lockwood Cellular~

I walked into see Mason waiting in the cellular with two lighted lanterns, Damon isn't here yet and I was furious. Mason looked up at me and stood up as he put out a match. "I didn't think you'd show up."

"Well I did, now what are we looking for," I said to him.

"Don't you think we should wait for your brother?" Mason asked.

"Screw my brother. I promise you he's trying to find a loophole to not work with you." I said to him and as if on cue, Damon walked into the room. "Took you long enough."

"Well, I hit a snag in my only other Klaus lead," Damon explained, and I looked at Mason confused. He stood up and handed Damon one of the two lanterns.

"Mikael?" Mason asked him. "Yeah. That didn't turn out so great, did it?"

"How do you know so much?" I asked him. Mason turned to me as he walked towards the wall after he took the shovel from Damon.

"There's not much to do on the other side but sit around and watch other people screw things up," Mason explained. So basically, when I die, I'll be doing the same thing that I've always been doing.

"What are we looking for?" Damon asked.

"There's an old Lockwood family legend about a weapon that can kill an Original vampire." Mason turned to the wall and hit it with the shovel. "Like the rest of their secrets, they kept it buried." He said and hit the wall again. I rolled my eyes and walked up to him.

"Give me the shovel," I said, and he looked at me, before handing it over. I moved to where he was standing and pushed him away from me slightly. "Move," I told him. "I have a lot of anger to get out."

After a few hits with the shovel, I broke the wall and looked at the boys. Mason began to walk over to the hole while giving me a smug smirk, but I dropped the shovel in front of him which made him stop and look at me. Damon looked at the two of us confused.

"We don't have a lot of time," Mason said.

"Yeah, we don't. So why don't you tell us what's down there beforehand." I said while crossing my arms over my chest. "Because you need me to help Tyler, and if this is just revenge on my brother then I'm leaving right now." Mason looked between us and laughed.

"I told you all I know," Mason said. "Whatever is down there is the rest of the story." I stared at him, waiting for him to give any indication that he was lying, but after a minute or two I unfolded my arms. Grabbing a lantern, I walked through the hole and heard as Damon and Mason followed behind me.

We had been walking for a while now and Damon was to my right while Mason leads the way with another lantern. "So, why are you in a bad mood?" My brother asked me as we walked threw the cave.

"Well, him for one," I said as I quickly pointed to Mason. "And then there's Klaus."

"Klaus?" Damon muddled.

"He sent someone to look after me while Stefan's indisposed, though Klaus doesn't know that," I explained and got even more furious with the situation.

"Is the hybrid here?" Damon asked, and I shook my head.

"In Mystic Falls, yes, but other than that no. I snapped his neck after I told him I would call Klaus back." I explained.

"Why would Klaus want you to call him back?"

"Because he's obsessed with me."

"You're not calling Klaus," Damon said, and I stopped in my tracks. He turned around to me as I stared at him.

"I'm calling him back," I told him.

"No, you're not, Alexandria." Damon retorted.

"Don't call me Alexandria," I growled at him.

"You said it yourself; he's obsessed with you. It's better for you to ignore him." Damon said, determined to change my mind.

"And would you rather have the baby hybrid, he sent, tell him the real reason why Stefan isn't returning his calls?" I asked him. Damon opened up his mouth, but I stopped him before he could speak. "Don't tell me to kill him because that would only make Klaus send another one. The Original wants me to call him, and I think that's a small price to pay to get our younger brother back to sanity." After I clarified that, I walked around him and went to catch up to Mason.

"I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Your motives are deceptively pure." Damon said as he followed Mason and me.

"You talk the talk, but I know you will do anything for your brother, just as Alex would. You won't screw me over as long as we have the same agenda." Mason said, and I smirked a bit, knowing that the statement was true.

"I'm supposed to believe you're not going to screw us over?" Damon said. The three of us stopped in our tracks and saw that two tunnels were going in opposite directions.

"All right. Which way?" I asked Mason.

"I don't know. Flip a coin." He said.

"Aren't you supposed to be all-knowing?" Damon asked him.

"I'm a ghost. I'm not God. Go left." Mason says, and Damon goes to the right. I watched him from the entrance of the tunnel, but there's nothing there. "Or not...You have trust issues. Anyone ever tells you that?" I watched as Damon walked a little further into the tunnel when two sharp wooden poles suddenly move out from the walls and go through his body. He groans and pain and I gasp. I sped towards him and went to break them, but hissed when they burned my hands.

"Vervain. I can't touch them." I told him. I turned around to get Mason but found that he had vanished. "Mason!" I yelled, and he came back with a shovel in hand.

"Oh, I'm having a bad day." Damon moaned and I watched as Mason walked back to where Damon was trapped.

"Sorry. Thought you might need this." Mason said. He breaks the long stakes with the shovel. "You're welcome." He begins to pull out the stakes since I can't touch them.

"What's your game, man?" Damon groans in pain as Mason pulls out another stake. "I killed you. I jammed my fist into your chest. I ripped your heart out. There's no way this whole buddy-trust act is real." Damon asked him.

"You know what the other side is like? We're all alone. We watch the people we left behind, and we regret our decisions. That's it. Look, I can't change what happened to me. But maybe I can change what happens to Tyler. I don't need revenge, Damon. I need redemption." Mason explained and both me and my brother were silent as we contemplated what he told us.

Once Damon was healed enough to walk and we followed Mason through the caverns. Suddenly Damon and I hit an invisible barrier while Mason continues walking forward in front of us. "You're fucking kidding me." I pushed my hand forward. "This is not happening." I rebuked and Mason turned around to see us stuck.

"What now?" Mason asked with the same amount of annoyance in his voice.

"We can't get through. It's like we're not invited in." Damon explained and Mason looked at us for a while before he kept walking down the tunnel. "Wait!" He shouted.

"I'm not stopping just 'cause you two are stuck. I'll let you know what I find." Mason said to us.

"Yeah, but…" I said, and Mason looked towards me.

"Looks like you're gonna have to trust me." He said and walked away. Damon and I shared an uneasy look as we watched him walk further into the cave. After a few moments, we heard Mason gasp in amazement as he looked around at the cave walls.

"So? What'd you find?" My older brother asked him.

"I don't know" Mason began. "It's just a bunch of drawings" He looked down at his body, and I looked at him worried. "I'm starting to disappear." He looked at me. "Alex, you have to help Tyler. Promise me you'll help him." I nodded.

"I promise," I said, and he vanished. His lantern hit the ground, and I moved forward only to be bounced back by the invisible barrier.

"No, no, no, no," Damon said anxiously.

"Damn it!" I shouted, and Damon hit his hand against the wall.

"Great. We have a drawing that can tell us how to kill Klaus and we can't even see them." Damon said with irritation as he hit the invisible barrier with his fist.

"Then let's get Alaric, he's someone you trust, and he hates Klaus as much as we do." I proposed to him. "Tell him to meet you here, and he can go in and take pictures of what Mason saw."

"And what are you going to do?" Damon asked.

"Make a phone call to the devil," I grunted.

~The Boarding House~

I walked into the boarding house and slammed the front door behind me. I usually would speed upstairs to my room, but I was trying to put this call off until the last minute even though I made a promise for Stefan's sake. I closed the door to my room and saw my phone laying on my bed. I saw five missed calls and three voicemails from Klaus, I opened up my phone and dialed his number. As it rang, I sat down on my bed and tapped my knee. After the 4th ring, he picked up, and I sighed.

" Hello, love. "

"You need to stop assigning me, babysitters," I told him as I stood up and slowly walked around my room.

" The only babysitter I've assigned you is your little brother, " Klaus informed me, and I froze.

"What?" I said, under my breath.

" Alex, " He said firmly, sensing my shock. " What's wrong? "

"Nothing," I told him, though I know that didn't sound very convincing.

" No, I can hear the confusion in your voice. Tell me what has got you so bewildered. " He commanded.

"It's nothing you need to worry about Klaus. Just leave it be." I demanded.

" I'm just making sure you're ok, sweetheart. I don't want anything to happen to my girl ." He said charmingly.

"I'm not your girl." I spat.

" Not yet, " He quickly added, as if he was correcting me. " But I know you're still lying and if there's anyone who is bothering you, just say the word, and they're dead. "

"There's no one bothering me," I insisted then paused for a moment. "I have to go, goodnight Klaus" I hung up and placed my phone on the table beside me. I ran my hand threw my hair. A shower, that's what I need after a day like today, a nice hot bath to relax. With that thought in mind, I stood up and walked into my bathroom after grabbing a pair of pajamas. I took a shower and walked out of my bathroom 30 minutes later in my PJs.

I walked over to my phone on my nightstand as I dried my hair off with the towel in my hand. I saw a few text messages. I only had one new message that said ' Goodnight Alexandria -Klaus. '
