Survivor - Mexico (Brain vs Brawn vs Beauty)
Chapter 17 - Day 15 Part 2
Welcome back everyone to another chapter of Survivor - Mexico (Brain vs Brawn vs Beauty)! Last chapter I say has gotta be one of the most interesting chapters of the story thus far. All three tribes had a reason to why going to Tribal Council would be rather interesting. But today, the axe is going to fall on Quetzal after Chica of all people managed to score the winning basket for CoatÃ.
Thus, today, Rosalina will get her first taste of tribal in a while, Funky Kong and Isabelle are coming back from their brief break, and Incineroar and Tifa are going to experience it for the first time. Let's get this show on the road!

Day 15
Tifa, Isabelle, Incineroar, Rosalina, Funky Kong

"Come on, man... I really really didn't wanna do this..."
Production typically prohibited the castaways from interacting with each other until they all reached their camp. And the very moment those five did, Incineroar complained almost immediately.
"I just don't like the fact that I have to vote anyone out..."
"That makes two of us..." Funky Kong could not have agreed more.
"Oh well... Being on a winning streak was fun while it lasted..." Tifa heaved a sigh. "Incineroar was completely annoyed by the fact we had to go because I failed to score three baskets in time, but... I was actually gradually preparing myself for it. Knowing the dynamics of old Toro, I was probably expecting to go tribal at some point. It was more of a matter of when I was going... Which is basically the case for... everyone that doesn't quit, basically. Unless you are medically evacuated..."
"I hate that we're going because I didn't get the sandbag into the basket in time..."
"Hey, at least you didn't have to go on that balance beam..." Funky Kong felt that he and Incineroar also held responsible for the loss.
"Yeah, don't be so hard on yourself. You all did great." Isabelle watched the entire challenge unfold from her spot on the sit-out bench. "It was actually a pretty close race for everyone like Master Hand said. We just unfortunately had to place last..."
"Anyone wanna get water?"
"Count me in." Incineroar answered to Funky Kong, both of the men leaving the women alone once more.
...
"Okay..." Tifa sighed shaking her head. "It is quite obvious that those two have some type of connection with each other..."
"No doubt..." Rosalina responded. "Well, if we need to vote somebody out, we have three right here."
Isabelle and Tifa both laughed along with her.
"But I suppose the only problem is simply which of the two that would need to go." Tifa placed a thumb beneath her chin. "I'm gonna say this right now, because there is simply no point in hiding it. Incineroar and Funky Kong are both allies from both of our old tribes, Isabelle. This decision could be rather difficult for numbers, especially since both Brain and Brawn are down to five."
"Yeah..." She replied exhaling. "I feel like I'm handling business back at home where I have to make some type of written agreement with someone. I'm used to it... Unless we wouldn't have to worry about it anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"That if Brain, Brawn, and Beauty are already over. I really don't know for certain what happened on the Toro tribe. I could have sworn that it was going to be either Daisy or Espio, unless one of them had an idol..."
"You told me on what your tribemates are like, Rose." Tifa thought out loud. "Maybe somehow Daisy would not have minded seeing Jet go in spite of their similarities right off the bat, and Ryu had no choice but to stick with the vote because she, Espio, and Golden already had the numbers."
"Well, I guess we can speculate all day of what happened at Toro, but at the end of the day, if Funky Kong seems like the best choice for the both of you, than... I'll write his name down if he's the best interest for all three of us."
Well, that was one way to be the center of attention.
"Isabelle, are you sure?" Tifa questioned.
"I mean, he's just really close with Incineroar. And back on old Coatà he appeared to be closer to other people. I don't even know if I am really in a strong alliance at all..." She shook her head. "Not saying that I am pushing for Funky Kong to be voted out of here, but if he seems to be the best choice, if he is all we need to do in order to make this alliance work, I'll sacrifice him in order to strengthen this new alliance."
"I mean,... it's not as if Incineroar was ever my right or die, but... at least we now have one option that we can vote for..."
"Wow... I didn't even have to speak for most of the conversation..." Rosalina blinked, still surprised on what she had to hear. "To think this would have been the toughest vote for me thus far, due to Funky Kong and Incineroar both being on the same tribes as Isabelle and Tifa. But Isabelle just said that she had no problems getting rid of Funky Kong tonight... I mean, sure, Tifa immediately said that Incineroar was not her number one ally immediately after, but hey, whatever helps to get the target off of my back at this point. But for right now, the plan is leaning a bit towards Funky Kong at the moment. Yet we are still uncertain of who we should be voting for at tribal. All we know is that those two need to be broken up rather soon, or else they would make an alliance if they had not already done so. I'm willing to write down either one, because it is not as if either of them were on old Beauty or anything... Oh my star bits... Are we really about to pull this off?"
-/-
"Ugh... No... Let me try looking from a different tree..."
Isabelle watched as Funky Kong came climbing all the way down from a tree holding a machete. Yet by the time the light-furred ape stood tall on the ground, he gasped at the sight of the Animal Crossing character.
"What the... How long were you standing there!?"
"Not too long, actually." She shook her head giggling. "Something tells me that you were holding a machete as a cover up."
"Oh, just say you caught me already." He sighed in defeat. "Like, look, I know that somebody from old Beauty already has the idol over here, but it does not mean completely rule it out. You never know. I brought the machete with me so I can say I was trying to cut down branches or coconuts or something in case anyone finds me here, but clearly I wasn't paying attention that much... Or that I probably was, but I can't help that you are nearly Plague Knight's size..."
She chuckled a bit louder. "Well, good thing that it's me and not... anyone else that found you here..."
"...Okay, you have a point." He had to admit. "But, anyway, let's get this over with. Who should we vote out and why? Is it everyone against Rose? Do we swing her over to vote for Tifa or what?"
"Wow, aren't you right down to business. You really mean it when you say you don't going to Tribal Council." She smirked. "But I'll answer your question. Let's just say... Rosalina wants an all girls alliance."
!
"...Say what!?"
"Shhhh!" She glanced around to make sure no one was coming. "Uh... Yes?"
He slowly brought his hands over his face. "Are you kidding me right now? ...Please tell me I'm dreaming..."
"You're on Survivor." The dog blinked. "I am pretty sure everyone wants it to be a reality for themselves, not just a dream..."
"This is the number one thing I didn't want, right?" He laughed out of sarcasm staring straight at the camera, sunglasses or not. "Like... I've just talked about this with Incineroar. You know, about how we are the only two men on the tribe? A part of me didn't think somebody would actually try to do it, but what do ya know? Rosalina wants to bring the other two girls and pit them against us. Voting people out is one thing, but when I am considered to be voted out, that's a whole different thing altogether."
"I knew it... What is she trying to do?"
"Okay, so the female alliance is not really about having an all girls alliance." The Animal Crossing character elaborated. "It's just about Rosalina getting the target off of herself. I mean, she needs something to save herself, so this is one argument she can make. But here's our argument against her... She's original Beauty, and if anyone, anyone of us gets our torch snuffed tonight, it would not benefit anybody that is not part of the original Beauty tribe numbers wise. Brawn and Brain are tied at five right now. Beauty only has four. Do you think it's worth it for my game by voting for you?"
"Wow, you are straight on." Funky Kong nodded in agreement. "Here's a fun fact: I was actually trying to figure out ways to be closer with you, anyway. ...Wait a minute, is Tifa down for the girls alliance?"
"Can't say for certain, but she probably is..."
He heaved a heavy sigh at that. Not exactly what he wanted to hear. "So my name could come up twice tonight... I'm gonna thank you in advance, Isabelle. I mean, if it wasn't for you and you actually chose to go with them, this is my last day here. I mean, I'm not even at the merge at, dude!"
"..."
"Or... dudette, I mean. Let me go find Incineroar..."
"I was actually considering on siding with Rosalina and Tifa for the all girls alliance... But then I figured that not only that would benefit nobody but Rosalina, but, my predictions were right. That is the number one thing Funky Kong expected. The guys would actually expect an all girls alliance to form, and by the time it actually happened, they would have been already thinking about it. That would have made Funky not trust me, and I need to work with people that I can trust. Even though Funky is not Golden or Espio, trusting an original Brain member have more benefits for my game than trusting Rosalina and Tifa. So unfortunately, as much as I like her,... Rosalina's going home..."
And the tallest female of the group was seen laughing away with Lockhart.
-/-
"Are you serious!?"
"Shhh! Not so loud!" Funky held a finger over his mouth, him looking over the boat the two of them were in. "But, yeah... Our worst nightmare... This is just what happens when there are only two alpha males on the tribe. I blame Rose. She was probably thinking that she didn't really need us for her game. So we do all the challenge work and then we would get thrown away..."
"That ticks me off." The celebrity shook his head rapidly. "...Wait a minute, what did Tifa say?"
"Iz told me that she would most likely follow along with it as far as I'm concerned. But you two probably need to talk it out or somethin'..."
"Dude, tribal is in like, two minutes! We should getting out of the boat right now!"
"Alright, alright..." Funky waved it off. "Just make sure Rosalina's going home, and we're both still here..."
"I have actually thought long and hard about myself working with Isabelle and Rosalina for this all girls alliance..." The longer haired woman herself admitted. "And my take on it is that it could be great... until Isabelle and Rosalina would be pushing for Incineroar to be voted out. Funky seems to be the target, and that I'm perfectly fine with as long as Isabelle doesn't mind if he's gotten rid of. He's too close with Incineroar like Jet was and he's not part of the original Brawn tribe. However, Incineroar actually was a part of it, plus the fact that he's part of the Strong Guys Alliance. That's two reasons to why getting rid of him (as much as I would not mind on paper) would actually not be a very good idea. Something tells me that Ryu was probably okay with Jet going home, anyway, just to make sure the Strong Guys Alliance stays in tact. Do you really think it'd be okay to ruin what Ryu is trying so hard to accomplish? So I'll stick with the women for now as long as the target is on Funky, but after that, it's Brawn strong for me."
Tribal Council
Night 15
In spite of everyone having different plans, voting somebody out of Survivor happened to be the common goal at the end of the day, whether it was somebody different another person had in mind or not.
Rosalina, Incineroar, Tifa, Funky Kong, and Isabelle all made it to the ritual sitting down in their seats.
"For those of you who don't have a torch, go ahead and grab one, dip it in, and get fire." Master Hand directed, Tifa and Incineroar standing up to retrieve the two unlit torches. "This is part of the ritual of Tribal Council where in this game, fire represents your life. When your fire is gone, so are you."
Upon returning the torches the holes they were placed down in following them being lit up, the two original Brawn members sat back down in their spots.
"Alright, so, like the last swapped tribe that went to Tribal Council, we have two Brawn, two Brain, one Beauty. And what happens at the previous Tribal Council, a Brawn gets voted out. Tifa, what exactly does that mean to you?"
"Well,..." The Final Fantasy hero spoke. "I can safe that from the moment I looked over there to realize that Jet was no longer in the game before it was even officially announced, I began speculating on what could have happened. To this day I am still trying to figure out what is the right answer. Clearly he's been eliminated for a reason. But, you never know exactly what happened unless you were at their camp. And right now, I can't talk to Ryu so I can have closure of what happened, let alone for the rest of that group."
"And Incineroar, on that reward challenge two days ago, you were the one who were the most vocal about Jet's elimination." The Survivor host recalled.
"I mean, that was my friend back there. Of course I wanna know why he had to go. Sure there was no clear majority here, but because of him being my teammate alone should be enough to why I feel like I deserved to know what happened to him." The boxing-wrestling champion opinionated. "Like,... That's just like saying you wanna know how your family member passed away but no one can tell you anything."
"Like a murder mystery."
"Yeah, like that." Incineroar pointed to Tifa, the rest of the team giggling a bit.
"So, do you two feel if that is a pretty legitimate reason to why both of you would fear that you are in trouble?"
"Well, anyone could be in trouble right now, including me. But I see what you're saying." She turned to use Isabelle and Funky Kong as an example. "Maybe the Brains wanted to get rid of the Brawn and somehow swung Daisy over from the Beauty tribe and voted him out, and these two Brains over here could do the same thing to me, because Jet was not exactly the strongest of the bunch, and neither am I. I could be going home and they could keep Incineroar for challenges."
"Isabelle, what is your response to that?" Master Hand was now curious.
"Well, if Golden and Espio were in fact the culprits to Jet being voted out, it does not have to mean that the exact same situation can happen over here, because me and Funky Kong literally had nothing to do with that. Everyone has different reasons to eliminate everyone, but just because this is pretty much the exact same scenario numbers wise, does not mean something can happen in a certain way twice."
"Funky Kong, Isabelle just brought up a good point. She's basically saying that numbers wise, this tribe is no different, anything can and would happen with this group."
"I mean, everybody should have a reason to feel afraid sometimes. At this point, with this group, it could very well be anyone. There is no clearly majority here, or on any of the swapped tribes when it happened, so I don't think anyone should feel too comfortable for a while. Now if you already know that you feel uncomfortable on the other hand, that's a different story."
"Rosalina, how about you? You're the only old Beauty here. Doesn't that scare you?"
"Can't say that I have a reason to why I should not be scared." Though she chuckled a bit, inside she felt different of course. "When you only have one person against four other people, you are literally all on your own, and people can say 'Hey, let's just get rid of the one person that doesn't have numbers and call it a day.' I mean, sure I could be a possible swing vote, but if I'm not, then I am in a pretty dangerous position right now."
"Ugh..." Funky buried his face in his hands. "We really should have won immunity today. I can't believe we're here because I couldn't stand on the balance beam right..."
"Well. Funky clearly regrets losing the challenge." Master Hand noted.
"I mean, it's the thought of voting someone out alone that makes me feel some type of way." He elaborated. "But strategy wise, we're all over the place trying to figure out who's going home and who's not and why... I mean, I know the whole point is just to see who is going to be the last man standing at the end when we get to the reunion show, but the thing is, knowing how big this show is universally, and people out here including myself dreaming to be a part of it, I don't think anyone wants their dream crushed, especially if it's due to another person. Me and Isabelle ended Jimmy's dream back on our old tribe. But now somebody's dream has to come to an end here, and I'll feel some type of way especially if I'm outta here tonight."
"You feel guilty..."
"I mean,..." He was quiet for a couple moments. "I really do... Some people came out here only because they wanna get the money for whatever reason. It's not really my number one reason why I'm out here, but I can't speak for everyone's motives. But money or not, it's not as if you can play Survivor everyday, master. And literally every single castaway that has ever played this knows that all too well. Just like the time before us Brains went to our first tribal, everybody generally liked each other, but the moment when we lost, everyone was like 'Ook, ook! Who's going home? Who's going home? Ook, ook!'"
The Tribal Council erupted in laughter.
"I mean, seriously. That's what this game does to you. People can either explain honestly why a certain person is going home, or they can simply lie, cheat, and steal just so that they can get their way so they can progress even further. And then everyone moods really change when we have to head here to vote somebody out. The worst part is though is that by the time they're gone,... you literally just ended their life in the game. Possibly for good if they are never coming back. You can't help but feel guilty!"
...
"...I..." Rosalina was the one that ended up breaking the silence. "can pretty much understand where he is coming from."
"We all do." Incineroar nodded his head, shaking Kong's shoulder with his hand. "I may not need the money, but I still know how this man feels. But even from my perspective, the most important thing to know is that even though we hate slaughtering each other's throats, at the same time, that is what makes this show so special in the first place. People just love competition. It's as simple as that, master."
"Wow." Even Master Hand was surprised even though everyone knew he had a point. "Can't say that you're wrong."
"I mean, clearly I'm a pretty competitive guy, so I know what it's like. When I'm trying to wrestle and beat people up just so that I can stand out as the best, like,..." He looked off for a moment. "everyone else wants to be the best, too. I was the champion of not one, but two sports altogether. Nice to have something like that, but all the while,... you really think about how many peoples' dreams got killed because of no one other than yours truly. You can't tell me that I don't think about that every night while I'm fighting out there just so that I can achieve the same goal they wanted to achieve... But eventually, I realize that it is just what competition is all about in general."
"He's right." Tifa was not afraid to agree with the anthropomorphic creature. "I am pretty sure that's why people come out here to begin with."
"You guys ready to end someone's dream tonight?"
...
Rather awkward to say the least.
"Well, when you put it that way," And Rosalina broke it yet again. "we can't really say that we're exactly ready for it, but if it's the one thing we need to do before we move on, we might as well get to it just to get it out of the way."
"Alright, Rosalina. I'll let you go up to the urn if you just want to get your vote out of the way."
With Quetzal giggling humorously, she calmly stood up.
"Guess I'm going, then."
"Alright, it is time to vote." Master Hand snickered. "Rosalina's up..."
And by the time she managed to make it to the urn, she made sure she wrote small, yet big enough to put all nine letters of the Kong's name on the parchment. Sure, one could have argued that 'Funky' was basically all that was needed, yet she went ahead and did it the long way anyway.
"Nothing against you. It's just so that I can continue to protect the rest of old Beauty, and so that I can last at least one more day out here."
The ape even had the nerve to stare directly in her way as Incineroar was called next, with Isabelle following right behind.
Tifa went up fourth and cast her vote, which meant that the ape himself had to go last. Unfortunately, due to him knowing that she was the first Rosalina he ever met in his entire life, he had almost no idea how to spell her name properly.
R-O-Z-A-L-E-A-N-A
Nevertheless, he knew that he at least tried.
"I'll go tally the votes..."
Isabelle sat as still as a statue, yet her eyes followed the master all the way up to the voting urn where the votes were now being tallied up. The rest of the tribe sat rather patiently until he was done.
"If anybody has a hidden immunity idol and you wanna play it, now would be the time to do so."
...
"Okay." It was now time to read. "Once the votes are read, the decision is final. Person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes..."
And there he went.
"First vote... 'Rozaleana.'"
The frowns on multiple peoples' faces including the victim's said it all. Funky Kong's heart sank to his stomach out of pure embarrassment. He knew he never got it right.
"Funky Kong. One vote Funky Kong, one vote Rosalina."
He curled up his lips, Incineroar shaking his head in the process.
"Funky Kong. Two votes Funky Kong, one vote Rosalina."
Out of even more nervousness, he lifted his right hand in order for it to support his head.
Tifa simply sat still and never moved an inch.
"Rosealina. Two votes Rosalina, two votes Funky Kong, one vote left..."
At that point, Rosalina never really cared of whether or not her name was being spelled right anymore. Neither did Funky Kong even if people got his name right. Better to have your name being spelled wrong and still survive the vote, rather than everyone getting your name right but still be voted out.
"Fifth person voted out of Survivor - Mexico (Brain vs Brawn vs Beauty)..." He revealed. "Rosalina."
!
She widened her eyes quite astonished, Tifa immediately shifting her head around.d
"W-What...?"
"You need to bring me your torch."
Funky Kong heaved the biggest sigh he could have. Though he hated that someone else to go, at the end of it all, it was about being selfish and making sure your own butt was saved.
"At least someone got my name right..."
She stood up and calmly made her way to retrieve her torch, Isabelle getting an increasingly saddened look in her eyes, in comparison to Incineroar who was nodding and smiling at the result.
"Rosalina, the tribe has spoken."
"Thanks, master..."
Snuff.
"Time for you to go."
"Alright... Guess that's it for me." She turned around to smile one last time. "Good luck, everyone."
"Thanks, Rosallina." Isabelle of all people spoke. Yet it did not matter anymore. Tifa Lockhart already knew who voted for who anyway.
"I guess Rosalina did in fact had the disadvantage tonight. Though she should have never felt comfortable enough, she still ended up being blindsided. When someone says that anything can happen, time and time again it's proven that they mean it. Grab your torches, head back to camp. Goodnight."
They all stood up and did as they were told, Incineroar, Tifa, Funky Kong, and Isabelle all exiting one by one.

"I guess things simply didn't go my way this time. I was the one speaking out that I shouldn't feel too comfortable knowing my situation, but I guess I trusted Isabelle a little too much and I actually believed she was voting with me tonight. I don't blame her, though. It was one of the few things I could have said to save myself and she didn't fall for her it, so congrats to her... I need to say sorry for the old Beauty tribe, though. Daisy, Panther, and Chica have now just suffered yet another setback."

(Good to see Katt and Isabelle getting more screentime, even though Isabelle is still in last place. And Incineroar's edit kicked up a little bit as of late.)
Well that happened. Typed the entire chapter in just one day. I don't know if I've ever done this before lol. But if I actually have, then I am quite surprised lol. Didn't expect Incineroar of all people to give advice to someone, but he did. He had a really strong episode this time even though all of his confessionals were before the immunity challenge and him barely being shown before Tribal Council this chapter.
Unfortunately though, Rosalina had to leave. Would have been sadder if Funky actually left, but I think that Isabelle made the right decision. Yet at the same time, Tifa is in a really bad spot right now. She and Incineroar voted differently and she ended up getting the vote wrong. Like Rosalina, she seemed to really believe in Isabelle and never thought that she would have gone against Rosalina, so I give credit to Isabelle here. Katt also got screen time this episode so at this point there are literally no duds in this cast.
The only question is how will this whole thing end up for everyone.
Questions:
1. If you care about Tifa, how much are you worried about her?
2. Should Incineroar actually be someone to root for?
3. Is Isabelle actually in trouble now?
