Lassie's House

Shawn pulled into Lassiter's driveway at 7:15.

Garrett parked on Shawn's left.

Everyone got out of their cars.

Maggie and Juliet went and knocked on the door.

Marlowe opened the door, "Hey guys! Come in."

Marlowe stepped out of the doorway so Maggie and Juliet could come in and relax. She was about to shut the door when Shawn said "Marlowe, right behind them."

Marlowe opened the door and let Shawn and Garrett in.

"Thank you. Where should drinks go?" Shawn asked.

"Wine on the counter, beer in the fridge." Marlowe instructed.

Juliet went up to Marlowe and hugged her.

"Juliet. It's so good to see you. I feel like it's been forever." Marlowe said.

"It has been a while. Where's Carlton?" Juliet asked.

"Hold on."

Marlowe went to the stairs, "Carlton Jebidiah Lassiter, get your ass down here now!"

Maggie looked at Juliet and mouthed, "Jebidiah?"

Juliet nodded.

Maggie giggled.

Garrett and Shawn finished putting up the drinks and went and joined their wives in the living room.

Carlton came down the stairs and joined the rest of the party.

"Juliet." Carlton greeted.

"Hey Carlton." Juliet said.

"Hey Lassie!" Shawn exclaimed.

"Hi Spencer."

Juliet elbowed Carlton.

"I mean Shawn." Carlton corrected himself.

The three ladies snuck off into the kitchen to gossip.

Kitchen

Marlowe poured three glasses of wine and gave two of them to Maggie and Juliet.

Juliet and Maggie sat at the bar drinking their wine.

"So Maggie, how's marriage?" Marlowe asked.

"It's really going well. We're coming up on 2 years soon." Maggie said.

"And how is that baby of yours?"

"She's a mess. She's 6 months old. She's teething, babbling, and trying to scoot. Garrett talks to her like he understands what she's saying…that worries me a little."

Juliet laughed, "Aren't you glad you have a fun husband instead of a piece of cardboard?"

Maggie nodded, "True."

Juliet turned to Marlowe, "So Mrs. Lassiter, how are you doing?"

"I'm good. Brandon is coming home this weekend and that's making Carlton happy." Marlowe said.

"And Lily?"

"She is out of town with her boyfriend."

"Where'd they go?"

"Vancouver for a few weeks."

"Weeks?"

"Yeah. Justin is from there."

Juliet nodded.

Living Room

Shawn got up and walked to the kitchen.

"Beer?" Shawn offered.

Carlton and Garrett nodded.

Shawn walked into the kitchen and grabbed 3 beers. While in the kitchen he went over to Juliet and kissed her.

"Spencer, what are you doing?" Juliet asked.

"Getting beer. Need a refill?" Shawn asked.

The girls shook their heads.

Shawn went to the fridge and grabbed 3 beers and walked back to the living room where he was in the midst of a conversation with Carlton.

"Thanks Spencer." Carlton said.

Shawn nodded.

"So Garrett, how is being a dad?" Carlton asked.

"It's crazy. I still can't believe I have a family. I'm 22, married with a kid." Garrett said.

"We had our first kid at 23." Shawn said.

"Do you miss the quiet days?"

"Oh absolutely, but at the same time, if things were different, I probably wouldn't have Jules or the kids. Why?"

"I'm starting to miss the quiet days."

Kitchen

Marlowe got up and checked on the dinner and saw that it was ready.

"Ready?" Juliet asked.

Marlowe nodded.

Juliet got the table set for dinner.

"Boys! Dinner." Juliet yelled.

Shawn jumped up to his feet and ran into the kitchen.

"Well hello." Juliet said.

Shawn smiled, "Hey. I call sitting next to you."

Juliet laughed, "Ok."

Everyone got their plates and sat down at the table and began eating.

"Maggie, how is everything?" Carlton asked.

"It's going well. How are things with you?" Maggie asked.

"Good. I heard your brother has a girlfriend."

"Yep. She's my favorite of all of his girlfriends."

"How so?"

"This one is a decent person. The others were rude as hell, using Aaron for his money."

"Juliet, would you agree?"

"Yeah. Absolutely. The other girlfriends wouldn't let Aaron come home for a weekend." Juliet said.

"Why not?"

"Insecurity. They were scared that Aaron was going to cheat on them."

"I know for a fact, if I ever catch Aaron cheating, he'd be really sorry." Shawn spoke up.

Juliet agreed.

"How are your two?" Juliet asked.

"Lily is in Vancouver. Brandon is at his apartment." Carlton said.

"How are they doing?"

"Good. Last time I heard from them was last week."

"You don't talk to your kids everyday?"

"Juliet, have we met?"

"Ok, but still. With Lily out of the country, you aren't worried?"

"Juliet, she's almost 30 years old."

"Ok and?"

"Carlton. How long has she been dating this boy?" Shawn asked.

"Maybe 9 months." Carlton said.

"Ok, this just may be me as a dad, but when Garrett and Maggie first started dating, like the very first weekend, they went to Malibu for the weekend. Sure it's only an hour away, but that is my first daughter and I'll be damned if I let her go with some guy, I didn't know at the time, without her contacting me."

During the conversation, Maggie's phone rang.

"Excuse me." Maggie said.

Maggie excused herself from the table and went and answered the phone.

"Hello?" Maggie asked.

"Hey Mags, it's Aaron." Aaron said.

"Yeah I know. Is something wrong?"

"Yeah, she's out of formula. We have baby food, but is she allowed to have that?"

"She's never had baby food before. Do we have rice?"

"No."

"Hold on."

"How do we not have rice at the house?" Maggie yelled.

Shawn looked at Juliet and she shrugged.

"Excuse me." Juliet said.

Juliet got up from the table and went to talk to Maggie.

"What's wrong?" Juliet asked.

"She's out of formula and we don't have rice." Maggie explained.

"Baby food?"

"She's never had it. I want to be there just in case something happens."

"Is that Aaron on the phone?"

Maggie nodded.

Juliet took the phone from Maggie.

"Aaron, it's mom." Juliet said.

"Hey, can you help?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah. Go in Morgan's bedroom in the basement, there should be a little container of formula on her dresser."

"Yeah, it's fresh out. What do I do?"

"Hold on."

Juliet looked at Maggie, "Are you 100% confident with Madison watching Morgan while Aaron goes to the store?"

"Garrett!" Maggie yelled.

Shawn looked at Garrett, "Your turn."

"Oh joy!" Garrett said.

Garrett got out of his chair and went and checked on Maggie.

"What's up?" Garrett asked.

"Morgan is out of formula, we don't have rice, and she's never had baby food before. Mom just asked me if I was confident of Madison watching Morgan while Aaron goes to the store." Maggie explained.

"Uh, yeah. I guess."

"You guess?"

"I've had 2 conversations with the woman."

"Mom, get Madison on the phone."

"Aaron, hand Madison the phone." Juliet said.

Aaron handed the phone to Madison.

"Hello?" Madison answered.

"Hey girl. Are you comfortable watching Morgan by yourself?" Maggie asked.

"I have 2 nieces and a nephew. I'm 100% okay."

"Ok. Call me if anything else comes up."

"Ok. Enjoy the rest of your dinner."

"Thank you. I owe you big time!"

"Nonsense. Now go eat."

"Bye. Thank you so much."

Maggie hung up the phone and turned to Juliet, "Madison is watching Morgan."

"Are you ok?" Garrett asked.

"Yes. Go eat. I'll be in there in a second."

Garrett turned around and walked back to the table and sat down.

"So, what was that about?" Shawn asked.

"Morgan didn't have formula, we didn't have rice at the house, and Morgan has never had baby food before." Garrett explained.

"So what happened?"

"Maggie felt confident enough to leave Morgan with Madison while Aaron went shopping."

"That sounded fun." Carlton said.

"Oh it was. You want a 6 month old?" Garrett joked.

Carlton laughed, "Thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid my time as baby tender has expired."

"Don't speak so soon, Lassie." Shawn said.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you might be a grandpa."

"Me a grandfather?"

"Yes. That's what happens when your kids have kids."

"I know what a grandfather is, you idiot. I never saw myself as a father, let alone a grandpa."

"You're looking at the prime example."

"Yeah. You proved me wrong."

"I told you I would."

"You did."

Morgan and Juliet walked back into the kitchen. Maggie veered off and poured herself another glass of wine and drank it all before sitting down.

"Feel better?" Juliet asked.

"I need something stronger." Maggie said.

"Whiskey top right corner of cabinet next to fridge." Carlton said.

Maggie began to get up, but Garrett stopped her.

"Garrett, let go." Maggie warned.

Garrett got up and got 6 shot glasses and brought them to the table. He set them down and filled them with the whiskey Maggie was getting.

Everyone took a shot.

"Good God." Shawn said.

"Spencer, man up." Carlton said.

"I rarely drink dark liquor."

Juliet poured her shot back into Carlton's empty shot glass.

"Jules, why didn't you take your shot?" Shawn asked.

"I don't like whiskey. When have you ever seen me drink whiskey?"

"Point."

Maggie and Garrett cheered and knocked theirs back without any trouble.

Carlton and the gang saw how easy it was for them.

Maggie looked back up and saw everyone looking at her and Garrett.

"What?" Maggie asked.

"How did you do that?" Juliet asked.

Maggie looked at Garrett.

"I may drink whiskey on occasion." Garrett saved her.

"I just have a shot or two when he pours him a drink." Maggie said.

Juliet accepted the answer and paid attention to her meal.

Maggie turned to Garrett and whispered, "Thank you so much."

"Of course." Garrett said.

Everyone continued eating.

Once everyone was done eating it was 9:15 at night.

Everyone made their way into the living room to sit down and visit.

Maggie looked at her watch and saw the time.

"Gare, we got to go. The store closes in an hour." Maggie said.

Garrett nodded.

Maggie got up and grabbed her purse.

"You leaving?" Juliet asked.

"Yeah. Store closes in an hour." Maggie said.

"Ok. Well I'll see you when we get home."

"Bye love you."

Carlton and Marlowe got up.

"Maggie Grace come here." Carlton instructed.

Maggie looked at Juliet and Juliet shrugged.

Maggie followed Carlton and Marlowe outside.

"Am I in trouble?" Maggie asked.

"No. We wanted to take you aside and tell you how good of a wife and mother you are." Carlton said.

"But you guys rarely see me."

"Yes, but I do work with your parents. Believe me, they share everything. We've been friends for almost 35 years."

"You guys really think so?"

"Yeah. You have a good husband too. You did good, kid."

Carlton pulled Maggie into one of the rarest hugs.

"Thank you." Maggie whispered.

Carlton smiled and passed Maggie on to Marlowe.

"Maggie, we are so proud of you." Marlowe said.

Maggie smiled and hugged Marlowe.

"You better get going. We don't want to take up anymore of your time." Carlton said.

"Thank you, Uncle Lassie, for everything." Maggie said.

Carlton knew there was a deeper meaning in the 'for everything' part of Maggie's thanks.

"Of course." Carlton nodded.

Maggie went back inside and grabbed Garrett's hand and walked out of the Lassiters.

They got in the car and Garrett turned around, "What did he say?"

"He told me how proud of me he was." Maggie said.

"The same Carlton Lassiter told you that?"

Maggie laughed, "Yeah he did."

Garrett smiled and kissed Maggie on the cheek.

Garrett backed out of the driveway and went to the store on the way home.

Shawn and Juliet

Shawn and Juliet saw Carlton come in.

"What did you say to my daughter?" Juliet asked.

"We just took her outside to tell her how proud of her we are." Carlton said.

Shawn looked at Carlton, "You really said that?"

"Yeah."

Shawn looked at Juliet and smiled.

"Thank you, Carlton." Juliet said.

"We meant every word of it." Marlowe said.

Shawn and Juliet got up and hugged Carlton and Marlowe.

"Well, thank you for dinner. Next time, it's at my house." Shawn said.

"Who's cooking?" Carlton asked.

"I'll cook." Juliet said.

"Good." Carlton joked.

Shawn and Juliet walked out the door and turned around, "Thank you, guys. We appreciate it."

"Of course. Have a good night, Spencers." Carlton said.

Shawn threw his arm around Juliet and walked to the car. They got in the car and went home.

Carlton shut the front door and turned off the porch light and turned on the alarm to complete his night.

Shawn and Juliet

Shawn and Juliet got home and saw everyone on the couch sleeping.

"Let's go to bed." Shawn said.

"Throw a blanket over them first." Juliet whispered.

Shawn threw a few blankets over them and then headed upstairs to go to bed.

They got to the bedroom and shut the door.

Shawn took off his shirt and pants and got in the bed.

"No pajamas?" Juliet asked.

"Nah, not feeling it." Shawn said.

"I wish."

"You can."

"No, I can't."

"Tell me why, you can't sleep without pajamas? It's just me in this room."

Juliet opened her mouth and looked at Shawn and saw that he had a point.

"You Shawn Spencer just want to see me naked." Juliet teased.

"That's one reason." Shawn said.

"What's the other one?"

"I haven't come up with that one yet."

"You're bad."

"Of course. You do remember you landed a bad boy right?"

"Yeah a bad boy who whimpers at the tug of his hair."

"Don't touch my head."

"I'm your wife, I'll touch it if I want. Plus you have really great hair."

Shawn grinned.

Juliet got the rest of her clothes off and Shawn grabbed her and pulled her onto the bed.

"Shawn! We have to be quiet." Juliet said.

"It's my house." Shawn said.

Juliet laughed and rolled on top of him.

"Are we picking up where we left off earlier?" Shawn asked.

"Depends." Juliet said.

"On?"

"This is off topic, but, when you told Lassiter about Maggie and keeping contact with her, that was hot."

"Just hot?"

"Just hot."

"Damn. I was shooting for sexy."

Juliet laughed, "You don't have to worry about that."

Shawn raised his eyebrows.

Juliet nodded.

Shawn smiled and rolled onto of Juliet and kissed her.

Juliet smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms around Shawn's neck.

"I love you Shawn Spencer." Juliet said.

"I love you too Juliet Spencer." Shawn said.

Shawn turned off the lamp and laid down onto of Juliet, making no effort on moving.

"We're sleeping like this?" Juliet asked.

"Yes." Shawn mumbled.

"Get off. I can't breathe."

"I can give you mouth to mouth."

Juliet pushed Shawn off and kissed him goodnight.
