Title: Avonside Rage

Blackness… That was all Percy could see at the moment due to him residing in the world of consciousness. He could still remember the blow Thomas had cast on him in his moment of anger. How Percy hated the blue-haired boy now. It seemed to him that Lady broke up with him and left all because of the way Thomas yelled at her for her mistake. And now, all Percy could think about in his unconscious-like state was revenge. Soon enough, his eyes began to open as noticed by Rosie.

"Percy?" she peeped.

Weakly, Percy sat up and looked out groggily, wondering where he was.

"Ugh… What hit me?" Percy wondered weakly, looking around slightly, "And…where's Thomas?"

"He and Emily just left," replied Henry.

"What?!" exclaimed Percy, sitting up rather quickly, "Where did they go?!"

"They went to their hotel room for some needed alone time right now," answered Rosie, before kindly holding a hand out, "Here, let me help you up."

Unfortunately, all Percy did was angrily slap the cherry red-haired girl's hand away, much to her surprise over the use of physical force.

"I can get up myself, thank you very much," retorted Percy, getting back onto his feet, "Damn that Thomas bastard… After all we've done for him, this is how he thanks us?! Pretending we don't even exist, ignoring our helpful advice in situations, and worst of all, driving away my own girlfriend?!"

"Percy, we know you're hurting, but aren't you taking this a little too seriously?" questioned James, "While we're all sad that Lady's left, she did sorta bring it upon herself for what she did."

"All Lady did was hide her problems out of fear, just like Emily did!" Percy countered, "And even though the way Emily did it was way worse, 'she' was instantly forgiven when the truth came out! But when the truth about 'Lady's' problems came about, Thomas treated her like a criminal. It's a bit hypocritical, if you ask me!"

"She's not the 'only' one who was in the wrong," acknowledged Toby. "Ever since we got back from the Duel Monsters spirit world, we've been a little insensitive about Thomas's condition. We kept expecting him to simply forget about all he experienced and return to the same old Thomas as though nothing happened. None of us took the time to consider how truly broken his mind and heart were after that adventure. And from hearing his outburst, we now know that we need to be much more supportive of him if his road to recovery is to be successful."

"Well, maybe Thomas doesn't 'want' our support!" ranted Percy. "Maybe he doesn't want to recover at all! From the way I see it, Thomas Billinton has every intention of being cold and nasty for the rest of his life."

"He's suffering from PTSD, Percy," argued Edward, "You of all people know he can't help it… Besides, he'll get better in due time. We just need to be patient and more considerate of how he is feeling."

"Really?" asked Percy, sounding completely unconvinced, "He didn't consider 'my' feelings when Lady broke up with me and abandoned us. Nor did he consider our feelings when he turned his back on us before this tournament even started! He didn't think of our feelings, so why should we consider 'his' feelings? Ever since we came back from the Duel Monsters spirit world a month ago, Thomas's condition has shown no signs of improving. In fact, he's been getting worse and worse! At this point, the only logical thing to do in order to end it once and for all is to just put that blue-haired psycho out of his misery! And that is exactly what I intend to do once we face each other in the tournament!"

With that said, he turned and stormed away, leaving everyone else aghast.

"Please tell me he didn't say that," begged Henry.

"Percy, Thomas's closest friend, actually wants to put him out of his misery? Yup, we all heard him say that," confirmed James grimly.

"Oh, the indignity!" groaned Gordon sadly.

"How could Percy go as far as wanting Thomas dead?" Molly asked.

"When someone gets angry like that," said Edward wisely, "they become blinded from the reality of the situation. They only see it the way 'they' believe it's happened," He then looked even more serious, "Something tells me Percy's anger will eventually cost him more than he realizes…"

That was a rather troubling warning, wouldn't you think?

(elsewhere…)

Inside their hotel room, Thomas was seated in a chair trying to get his mind cleared of the negative thoughts plaguing him, while Emily sat beside him in another comfy chair.

"Why? Just why?" Thomas repeatedly asked himself.

"Thomas, take it easy," soothed Emily reaching over and touching her lover by his arm, "Everything will be okay… However, I must know one thing… was it 'really' necessary to hit and knock Percy out like that? I mean, he 'did' try to attack you, but-"

"I had no other choice," replied Thomas, "In Percy's current state of mind, it was unlikely he would listen to any sort of reason and would continue to lash out. And had I 'not' subdued him, it was highly possible he would have tried to attack anyone else who tried to stop him, including the girls."

Emily sighed in sadness. "You and Percy are closer than brothers," she pointed out, "It just pains me to see the two of you at bitter odds. You've had your fallouts before, but never were they 'this' serious."

"Despite all that I've been through in the Duel Monsters spirit world," added Thomas, "despite knowing me more than anyone else, Percy's blaming 'me' for Lady's choice of leaving. He's going as far as treating me as though 'I' were the bad guy when I'm the one who's experienced far more pain than he has." Another small tear streamed down his cheek, "Do you know how painful that is, to be blamed for someone else's problems by one of your closest friends? To be thought of as a monster, which I was in the past, when you're really the 'victim' in a cruel twist of fate?"

Emily didn't say anything else. All she could think and wish for was that Percy would realize that Thomas was not to blame for Lady's departure.

(elsewhere…)

Inside his room, Percy had just returned to look over his Deck before bed. Unsurprisingly, he was still fuming about earlier on.

"Who does that Thomas jerk think he is?" The green-haired boy muttered to himself. "First he scares my girlfriend away, and then he punches me unconscious. Well, I'll show him... If he and I end up dueling in the second round, I'll teach him a thing or two!"

Even though he was told of what happened while unconscious, Percy didn't seem to pay any attention and only seemed to blame Thomas for making Lady leave. Hey, a breakup would do that to you.

"You hear me, Thomas Billinton?!" Percy roared up at the ceiling. "I'm going to make you pay for what you've done!"

Yikes...

(elsewhere…)

Meanwhile, in the night sky, a plane was shown flying from Atlanta to New York City.

(inside…)

Inside the plane, various passengers were shown to have fallen asleep for the night. The flight was going to be long, so clearly sleep was going to be needed. One passenger in particular, Lady Stone, was trying her hardest to get some sleep. The peaceful sleep, however, started to weaken as she started to have a nightmare…

DREAM SEQUENCE

In this dream, Lady found herself atop a volcano of some sort.

"W-Where am I?" she wondered, taking a look around.

After walking around some large rocks and waving some of the fog-like smoke away, the beautiful blonde-haired girl found something that really surprised, yet scared, her.

"Thomas? Percy?" peeped Lady.

Standing on a platform over the pool of lava were both Thomas and Percy, and the latter, with eyes burning red with rage, had 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' flying above him.

"What's going on?"

Over on the platform…

"Give up, Thomas!" demanded Percy furiously, "I will have my revenge upon you! You will pay for turning Lady against me!"

'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' let out a roar in agreement.

"Percy…!" grimaced Thomas, "I… I don't want to fight you!"

"Shut up! Making the love of my life run away was the biggest mistake of your life! And now you're finally going to get what you deserve!"

"Listen to me, it wasn't my fault!" argued Thomas, though it was pointless at this point. "Lady 'chose' to-"

"Your pathetic excuses won't save you this time, Thomas!" yelled Percy, "'Red-Eyes', attack! INFERNO FIRE BLAST!"

'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' obeyed, opening its mouth and charging a powerful blast of fire. Lady, unable to stand it any longer, tried to call out to both duelists.

"Percy! Stop!" she begged futilely, "You can't do this!"

Too late, 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' unleashed its signature attack upon the seemingly defenseless Thomas.

*BOOM!*

An explosion rocked Thomas's side of the platform once the attack collided, and Percy seemed to look satisfied over it. As the smoke cleared away, his pleased look became hostile and confused-looking.

"Huh?" The green-haired boy wondered.

When the smoke was completely gone, Thomas was shown to still be standing. He wasn't alone either… 'Dark Magician' was also shown as the smoke cleared away, pointing his scepter at 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon'.

"'Dark Magician'?!" exclaimed Percy.

'Dark Magician' glared sternly, while Thomas just shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Percy," he said apologetically, "But if you want me dead so badly, you will have to get through my mightiest servant, 'Dark Magician', first!"

Percy sneered, "Really?" he questioned, taking another card out, "In that case… I'll just power 'Red-Eyes' up!"

With a roar, 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon's' whole body started turning all metallic.

"It's evolving!" Thomas gasped, knowing what monster was coming out.

Indeed so… With its new metallic coat, 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' had evolved into 'Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon'. The lava beneath began to churn and swirl as though being controlled by Percy's blind anger. And if that wasn't disturbing enough, the platform beneath Thomas's feet was slowly beginning to crumble away, leaving the blue-haired boy in danger of falling into the lava if Percy's attack went through.

"Thanks to 'Metalmorph', 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon' is now 'Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon'!" declared Percy, before going for another attack, "Take this! DARK MEGA FLARE!"

'Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon' opened its mouth, charged a flashy fire-like blast, and unleashed it towards both Thomas and 'Dark Magician'.

"BURN IN THE FIRES OF MY ANGER!"

"NOOO! STOP IT!" begged Lady tearfully.

As the attack got closer and closer to ending the lives of both Thomas and "Dark Magician'…

END DREAM SEQUENCE

Lady suddenly shot herself up with a start, now wide awake from the nightmare, panting heavily.

"Another dream… except it didn't involve that monster…" she panted, "It was about both Thomas and Percy… almost like what could happen in the future if Percy blames Thomas for…"

"L-Lady?" Burnett, Lady's guardian, whispered sleepily. It would seem Lady's startled awakening had also woken up her guardian, "Is everything okay?"

There was a long silence.

"Well?"

Lady sighed tiredly, "I hope so, Burnett…" she replied quietly, "I truly hope so."

With that being said, Burnett, decided to find out what Lady was hiding from him in the morning, yawned and went back to sleep. Lady, however, couldn't sleep as she looked out the window of the plane. She was too busy thinking about her nightmare, Thomas, and Percy.

"I made some terrible choices, and I can't face my friends until I have the chance to find myself," Lady thought to herself, "But, at the same time, I know I can't do it unless I truly know that Percy has complete trust in me."

(outside…)

Outside the plane, Lady continued to look out the window in deep thought.

"I'm begging you, Percy…" she begged mentally, "Please don't become buried by your anger. Find it in your heart to forgive Thomas and accept what has happened, before you do something you'll forever regret."

With that thought, she closed her eyes and finally allowed her tears to fall as the plane continued on its way to New York City. However, would her prayers come true? Would Percy let go of his anger and repair his damaged friendship with Thomas? We can only hope…
