Bruce shook the ice off his cape as Robin did the same.

"TT- Father why didn't you just kill him?"

"Killing him would be wrong Damian. He's just trying to get his wife back; he didn't hurt anyone."

Damian looked disbelieving before Bruce sent him upstairs to finish his homework. Bruce shook his head and watched his son run up the stairs. Damian had been with him for almost a year and he could already see the improvement in his behavior. Plus, he had made tentative friends with Clark's son Jon. Hopefully it lasted even though Jon was a year older. Bruce sat down at the Batcomputer and began typing up a report before getting distracted by a beeping and blinking on the right side of the screen. He shifted over and stared at it for a moment. It was all of the trackers he had installed in his family's suits. Dick and Kori were in their house, Tim was with Barbara, they can talk about that later, Steph and Cass we're together, Alfred was with Damian, and Wally was… heading towards Gotham. At seventy miles per hour. Bruce narrowed his eyes at the screen before cursing and rushing up the stairs. Wally wouldn't drive of his own accord and he wouldn't run that slow towards Gotham. He avoided highways and roads so he could run at top speeds. Bruce burst into the kitchen where Damian was eating a cookie.

"Wally has been kidnapped."

Alfred stared at him with wide eyes before putting down the jug of milk and snappily saying. "Well what are you waiting for then!? Go get him!"

Bruce nodded and ran out the door, Damian on his heels.

Wally groaned and tried lifting his head, but his brain was too muddled to even try. His tongue felt like sandpaper and there was an awful taste in his mouth.

"I think he's waking up Ricky!"

"Don't give him more! We need him okay to prove to the boss!"

"Yeah but which boss? They both wanted him."

"Penguin was gonna kill him."

"Two-Face is probably too chicken to do that!"

"Hey Two-face is the best boss anyone could ask for! We get a cut of the money."

"No shit?"

"Well… it's only a hundred dollars per employee."

Wally groaned and finally lifted his head which made the room in front of him spin. "Can I have some water?" He rasped out to the small group in front of him. They had a small conversation amounts themselves before one guy was pushed over to him, water bottle in hand. He tipped it against Wally's mouth who drank from it greedily. After a minute, the thug took the bottle back and stepped away, allowing Wally to get a good look at the room. They were in a dirty motel. And there were about six men in with him, plus one or two outside. They were unarmed at least but a few of them were wearing Two-Face's gear? While the others had Penguin patches on their shoulders? Wally looked down at his body and saw with shame that he was chained to a chair. He tried to wiggle but that only resulted in the chains clanking together, something his migraine didn't need.

"Why am I here!? Who are you working for?"

A man, who Wally was pretty sure was Ricky, stepped forward. "Penguin And Two-Face. They wanted you, so we worked together to get you."

Wally cocked his head to the side. 'Think Wally! They're just thugs maybe you can treat them like you would Trickster? Get on their good side.' He took in a deep breath before letting it out in a puff, "but why? What's in it for you?" Ricky didn't saying anything but he saw a couple guys behind him start to shuffle and look at each other. "Penguin is just going to kill me as soon as he sees me because he hates Bruce Wayne. Do you really think the guys who want me are going to pay him after that?"

"You know about the hit on you?"

Wally turned to the man who spoke, "of course I do. I work in the Central City Police Department. I'm a forensic scientist."

There was more shuffling before Ricky held up a hand. "Then you know why."

"For money? Yeah you really think Two-Face is going to share money with the couple of thugs who captured me? I'm just a nerd, it's not like I was hard to kidnap." He paused as now even Ricky was looking around. "Guys be smart about this. You can turn me over to the guys who want me and argue amongst yourselves over who gets the money… or you could let me go and we forget this ever happened." He stopped hopefully while Ricky turned and conversed with the group before turning back to Wally.

"What's in it for us if we let you go?"

"Yeah! We need more than just not pressing charges!"

"Yeah we don't have jobs, some of us are homeless! And Bobby has a two-year-old daughter!"

Wally melted and looked to the man who was nodding. "Do you really?"

"She's turning three in a month and we don't have money for food or toys. I just got out of jail and with no one hiring I had to go back to Two-Face."

Wally hummed in thought before grinning and looking at them. "Sounds to me like you guys need jobs and a place to stay. What if I helped you all find real jobs and apartments?"

Ricky stared at him in awe, "you wanna help us?"

"Of course, you guys are down on your luck." He chuckled, "and I've got nothing but luck. First thing though is you guys have to untie me and we can figure out where to go from there."

They looked at each other before Ricky nodded and pulled out a key, undoing the padlock keeping Wally bound. The chains fell to the floor as Wally stood up and stretched, reveling in the satisfying pops from his joints. "Okay so first things first jobs, right?" The group nodded dumbfounded as he rolled up his sleeves, "luckily I happen to know someone really important in a big company!" He grinned and waited for the laughter that never came. Wally sighed, "come on guys that was a joke. Get it? Bruce Wayne? I'm dating him?" Blank stares were met and he sighed and shook his head. "Never mind. Now I will talk to Bruce about this, but I want you all there at Wayne Enterprises main lobby at ten in the morning on Monday. Can you do that?" They all nodded, still in awe that someone in Gotham was actually helping them. "Now for a place to stay that's going to take a li-" the door was kicked open making Wally duck down same with the others in the room.

"Shit it's the Bat!"

Wally jumped up at that and stood in front of the thugs with his arms spread as Batman towered over them. "Wait! Batman!" He locked eyes with the white lenses of the cowl, forcing down the smile on his face as he saw Bruce's mouth turn down in confusion. "I'm Wally West, I was kidnapped by Ricky and his friends."

A small wave, "uh hi Batman I'm Ricky."

Batman glared at him before turning his gaze to Wally. "Are you injured?"

Wally felt the butterflies in his stomach as the familiar voice washed over him. "Not at all! We reached an understanding and I'm not pressing charges. They need help and I'm going to help them. Please let them go." Batman and Robin looked at each other for a moment before Batman took a few steps forward and put his hand on Wally's shoulder. "I still need to take you down to the station. We still need a statement."

"Of course!" Wally shrugged off his hand and turned to the cowering thugs. "Who is homeless here again?" Three of them raised their hands and Wally nodded. "Okay can a couple of you guys take them in until Monday? Then I'll give you your housing arrangements."

They nodded as Ricky stepped forward and offered Wally his hand. "Thank you, Mr. West."

Wally grinned and took his hand, "Don't thank me yet. You still have to go through an interview with Bruce Wayne, he's a lot tougher in person, trust me." That joke finally received a few chuckles before Batman lead Wally out of the motel, Robin shooting menacing glares at the men as they left. Bruce opened the back compartment for Wally to get into the Batmobile while Robin climbed into the front.

"Aw do I really have to ride in the back?"

"We have to make this look normal so yes."

"Yeah like your boyfriend and his son rescuing you from an attempted kidnapping is ever normal."

It took Wally two minutes to help fill out the report, seven minutes for him to convince them that he really didn't want to press charges, and ten more minutes for Bruce and Damian to arrive looking concerned. Even Damian looked worried, that boy was getting better at acting every day. Bruce rushed towards Wally and gave him a hug, which Wally gladly returned.

"Are you alright!? Are you injured? I was so worried when you didn't come home."

Wally rolled his eyes, but played along remembering his aunt and uncle doing a similar dance in front of police. "I'm fine babe. I'm sorry I worried you and Damian."

Damian fake sniffled and rubbed his eyes. "It's fine Wally, let's go home."

Wally ruffled Damian's hair before grabbing Bruce's hand and letting them lead him out of the station.

"Are you serious!? You promised them I could get them a job?"

"Yes! You're the CEO of a huge fucking company! Of course, you can get them a job! Damn Bruce, janitor, cleaner, mail delivery, filing, there's fucking tons of shit you could have them do! Hell you could hire them to help Alfred around here!"

Alfred set down a mug in front of Wally, "I do have trouble reaching the ceiling of the foyer and the ballroom."

Bruce glared at him before sighing, "fine I will do this interview with them but what's your plan for the homeless."

"We pay for a hotel room until they get their first paycheck then I help them find an apartment."

"Christ Wallace."

Wally huffed and crossed his arms, "it's not like you don't have the money Bruce."

"It's not that, I know I have the means to do it, but I don't have the means for everyone and I know you. Once you help one you want to help them all."

Wally sighed and crossed his arms, trying to think of a better solution before Alfred coughed, "if I may be so bold master Bruce, why don't you and master Wally create your own version of a halfway home? Teach these previous criminals what they need to get real jobs and offer places for families down on their luck to stay." Bruce paused before nodding in agreement while Wally stared at the two dumbfounded.

"Yes of course, that way we just can use the money we already have set aside for charities."

"Hold on, backup what's going on?"

Bruce gave Wally a small smile, "you and I are going to set up a charity to help these type of guys. It's a business endeavor, just trust me. You're going to help a lot of people like this Wally."

Wally smiled softly, "you think so?"

"I know so."

"Awesome… yeah let's do it! How hard can it be?" Alfred and Bruce shared a look before Alfred shook his head at the dark haired man. They would tell him later.
