We stayed on the rock outcropping for a little while before heading to a nice Asian restaurant for dinner. I had never had such good food before. Our dinner talk was light, nothing super special. Thoughts of Ivan would occasionally crop up but I pushed it away as I didnt want to ruin the moment and I knew he wasn't going to come for me in a spot like this.

Before I knew it was time for him to bring me home as much as I didn't want to leave him he had work in the morning.

As we started headed back I told him" I had amazing time with you. We should definitely do it again soon." and he replied "We definitely should hit me up whenever. If i dont answer right away its due to being on a call." I had requested he bring me back to the Plaza Hotel and he didnt have a problem with this. He must have assumed I lived near there.

"It was very nice seeing you again." he said as he shook my hand with a strong grip which honestly felt really good. I don't know why it just did.

"Same here I look forward to seeing you again." Sam replied. It was like he didnt want to leave me. I couldn't help but think of an anterior motive but when you've had a stalker like I did its hard to have thoughts like that but it didn't seem like he had that. He appeared to have genuinely nice demeanor.

"Have a good night." He continued as he headed down the street. I texted Josh telling him I was on my way back and he met me a short while later.

Upon getting back the Ember Ruset Josh and Quil immediately asked how my date was.

"It was great. He's a very sweet guy. He took me to a rock outcropping with a great view of the skyline. We even held hands in the park at one point." I said with a smile trying to contain myself.

"I know exactly the outcropping your talking about. Such a romantic beautiful spot." Josh chimed in and Quil immediately replied with "Well when are you seeing him again?" to which i replied "Hopefully very soon. He said he looks forward to seeing me again.

"I think he likes you Jake." Josh replied in a tone trying to imply he was teasing in a way but when I thought about it, it was rather obvious he liked me. No point in denying it. I liked him too.

"I like him as well." I explained. We talked for a little while more before I got in bed thinking about amazing guy I had just had a first date with.

Later the next evening I headed into Jin's library to continue our discussion shortly after he had returned from work at the university . He was putting away books using a ladder on wheels and noticed me come in. He was wearing a shiny black tracksuit with white stripes on both the jacket and pants. I was surprised he wasn't in leather pants this time but I guess we wasn;'t super into it like Josh was.

"Hello Jake. What brings you to my center of learning?" He asked jovially as he continued to put away books.

"I have a few questions for you and I really like that tracksuit. What's the material? " I told him as he replied with while continuing with his shelving 'Its called PVC and fire away."

"I never had a chance to look at that book The Dark Within the Moon therefore I would like to ask you some of the questions I had. I guess I'll start with why are some in our kind evil?" I asked. I had tons of other questions but i figured it was the best place to start.

"Mmm where to begin on that. From what I understand there is darkness in both Vampires and Werewolves. Its been around since our kind first appeared. The best way i can put it is inside every one of us there exists a dark side. Most people rise above it but some are consumed by it until there is nothing left but pure evil." Jin said sounding very narrative in his tone. I sort of got what he was hinting at but wasn't sure and wanted to press him further.

"Why do some werewolves turn dark?" I asked hoping to get more info as Jin was likely the best person I could ask about this.

"I can't say for certain as physiology isnt my expertise but I do know there has always been a small minority of werewolves who turn dark. As to why it largely depends on circumstances. I suppose it has to with giving into certain desires if I had to make an educated guess. Wolves like you and me don't give into those desires. " Jin explained as I thought about what to ask him next.

"But why darkness in werewolves? Arent we supposed to be the good ones?" I asked and Jin appeared to be in deep thought for a moment as he climbed down the ladder.

"From what i have been able to ascertain it began in Ancient Greece. The exact origins of werewolves are unknown but the legend is that after Zeus turned Lycaon and his sons into wolves as punishment for the boy they killed most of them embraced their new powers for good and to protect against vampires but some did not and chose to give into the full potential of their new power and use it for dominance just like some vampires did.

I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Was Jin implying what I thought he was? Surely that was just a legend and not the true origin of our kind. I had to ask for clarification.

"Are you telling me the Greek Gods are real?" I asked flabbergasted.

"I couldn't tell you for sure. Like I said the exact origin of werewolves is unknown but that's the legend regarding our creation." Jin explained. I was hoping for something more substantial but it was apparent even he did not know.

"Why wasn't my imprint with Ivan mutual? I thought in our kind it always is if one werewolf imprints on another?" I asked and Jin seemed to think for a moment as he came down the the ladder and I heard his pants and jacket crackle.

"While I answer would you mind helping me put some books away?" he said to which I replied "Of course." I saw no reason to say no. I was a guest and the council was being more than generous letting me and Quil stay with them.

"These go on that shelf over there ." Jin said as he pointed to other side of the room and I saw a few empty spaces.

As I started walking he began to answer my question " As to your question im not sure. There are multiple theories regarding that. Some things even I can't answer for certain but one of the prevailing theories is willpower." Jin told me.

"Perhaps im very strong willed then. I've never had a desire to go dark. I've always wanted to use my powers for good." I told Jin and he nodded in approval before saying and "That could very well explain how you were able to resist him." I told him considering my theory and the possible implications if true.

"You probably are, I will do some more research into this for you and see what I can find." Jin told me as realized how wonderful the council members are. I was truly grateful they were letting me and Quil stay with them

"I very much appreciate that." I told Jin to which he replied "My pleasure."

"How are you finding your your new city?" Jin asked which seemed a rather abrupt change but I didnt mind. He answered almost all the questions I had. The least I could do was answer his.

"Very well. This is a first time in the big city and I already love it. I met a guy at a bar I really like." I told Jin as his replied smiling at me "Oh tell me about him." Im not the best describing people to others but i'd gave my best effort.

"Well his name is Sam, hes about my height, very muscular, and he's got a voice that's perfect for narration. He's also a firefighter." I told Jin as smiled fondly at the memory.

"a firefighter huh? Perfect profession for a werewolf if you ask me," Jin replied clearly happy for me.

"I agree with you completely." I said I continued putting away the books as Jin asked me to bring him two books in front of his chair.

I beginning to feel I was getting more and more control over my situation. After I finished helping Jin with cleaning his library I asked him "What sort of books do you have on the history of New York?" I felt awkward but he didn't seem to mind.

"I have lots of them but I know one I think you'll really like. Its a history of New York told from the perspective of functional families. Come with me." he said as I followed up the stairs to the area by the second floor setting area.

"here you are sir." He told me as we handed it to me. "But don't forget to return the other book you burrowed or you'll have to pay a fine." He said in his primmest librarian voice.

"Don't worry sir. It will return to your humble sanctuary by the due date and not a moment later. I think Im going to he'd to bed now" I told him imitating his librarian voice.

"Good night sir. Thank you for the help." He told me as I replied "Good night."

I did my usual routine and got into bed wearing my black satin boxers with chili peppers. Sam texted me asked when he could see me again. I told him whenever he was free and he asked me if I was free tomorrow and I of course replied yes. He asked if I wanted to have a date on the ferry from downtown to Roosevelt Island. Not having any idea what that was I said yes. We arranged he'd come get me at the same place and we;d take the subway down.

After our talk I gazed upon the view of the city and thought for a moment. When i was Ivan;s prisoner I was never allowed to do things like what I did with Jin and what was going to do with Sam.. I didn;t even know such a thing like the NYC ferry existed. It was clear the council cared about my well being and treated me as an equal. Perhaps I had truly a place where I belonged and hopefully Ivan would soon find me and I could be rid of him once and for all and I could finally be a normal werewolf.
