demigod ravenclaw - thank you for the review. I thought john church/carter was rich he was just on the run. I'm not too sure though. I saw that he gave them loans quite often. I am trying to keep it somewhat accurate to the timeline but I've already messed that up with the murder trial so oh well.
rebeccagrace123- thank you for creating an account just for my story. I am honoured
guest- yes Angelica definitely would lead the country!
Livvyanne- Thank you!

After dinner they headed outside as they did the day before. The sister sat down on the bench.
"Any idea when these redcoats will be leaving America?" John asked. Alexander smirked.
"The hope is that they leave by the end of this year", Alexander informed them.
"Who do you think will run the country?" Stephen asked.
"Me", Angelica laughed. She wished she could. Eliza smiled at her.
"I have to assume Washington will lead us. He seems the obvious choice", Alexander vouched for his commander.
"If Thomas Jefferson comes back to America, he would have good status to be president too", John pointed out. Alexander rolled his eyes.
"The man didn't even fight in the war. I'm sorry but I would not support him", he pointed out. John nodded.
"Fair enough. Who could you see being president Eliza?" John asked her. She froze for a second. Why was he asking her? Right, he's married to Angelica. She would force her opinions on any man that would listen.
Eliza smiled.
"I have to agree with Alexander", she told John. Angelica rolled her eyes at her younger sister.
"Have some individuality Eliza", Angelica laughed. Eliza sighed.
"It just happens that my beliefs align with Alexander's." Eliza smiled at Alexander. All he asked was that she doesn't disagree with him.
"Washington would make a good president. Enough talking about politics. Stephen, Peggy what are your plans?" Angelica agreed with Alexander too. Eliza finished her glass of wine before she stood up to allow them to inform Angelica of their plans. She had already heard it.
She took Alexander by the hand and stepped onto the grass. She would prefer it if she could take her shoes off. Dancing in heels isn't easy. Sometimes she hated social norms.
"Dance with me", she smiled at him. Alexander hummed as they danced.
"I don't deserve you. You look perfect tonight", he whispered in her ear. She wasn't particularly dressed up, just her normal clothes. Is that what he sees as perfect?
"I love you", she looked into his eyes, smiling at how they still made her feel undone.
She wanted to kiss him but it wouldn't be appropriate in front of their guests.
"The two of you are so cute", Peggy smiled at them. Eliza blushed slightly as she smiled at Peggy. For a moment she had forgotten their guests where there.
"Thank you", she said politely. Eliza stepped away from Alexander and pulled her little sister up.
"What are you doing?" Peggy questioned her. Her eyes darted from Stephen to Alexander, willing one of them to question Eliza too.
"Come on, dance with me", Eliza said before she sang a tune. Peggy smiled, giving in. Angelica laughed at them.
"If only it was that easy to get you to dance at balls", Angelica stated.
"Yeah as soon as we let go of her, she would be talking to any man she could", Eliza teased Peggy.
"I was not!" She defended herself. Alexander smirked. Stephen shifted in his seat, obviously uncomfortable with the idea of his wife talking to lots of men.
"You were talking to Alexander's french friend the day they met", Angelica pointed out.
"Lafayette?" He asked them. Angelica nodded.
"That was one time and he is married, so it doesn't count", Peggy blushed slightly. Stephen stood up, holding his hand out to them.
"May I?" He asked Eliza. She grinned and gave Peggy's hand to Stephen. Eliza noticed Angelica trying to get John to dance. Alexander must have noticed too. He held a hand out to her.
"May I have this dance?" He asked her and John. He nodded, giving his approval. Angelica took his hand as he led her onto the grass. Eliza sang a tune for them to dance too.
"You have a beautiful voice", John complimented her when she was finished. Eliza blushed slightly.
"Thank you", she smiled at him.
Eliza interrupted Angelica and Alexander dancing.
"Can I have this dance?" She asked them. Angelica stepped back.
"Of course", she smiled at her little sister. Alexander offered his hand to her. Eliza shook her head as she danced with Angelica. She laughed at the shocked look on Alexander's face. He quickly hid it. He smirked at her as he sat down with Stephen.
"I'm going to miss this", Angelica commented as she spun Eliza.
"Me too", Eliza smiled at her. She loved how close she is to her sister. They soon would be an ocean apart.
Eliza laughed as she spun Angelica. She was determined to have happy memories instead of being sad. Angelica wasn't dying; she was only moving to another country.
They can write and Angelica can come back for the summer.
"When are the two of you heading off?" Alexander asked John.
"I have affairs to settle first. I may need your assistance for that. How is your work setting up the bank?" He answered Alexander.
"Do you want to discuss it now? We could go up to my office", they went up to Alexander's office. Angelica looked in their direction.
"Where are they going?" She asked Eliza.
"They're discussing John's affairs", she answered. Angelica nodded.
"He wants to invest in the bank that Alexander is setting up", Angelica commented. Eliza smiled. Her family had great hope in Alexander. It filled her with a sense of pride but it also meant Alexander had to work extra hard to provide.
…
"It's getting late. Will I show you to your room?" Eliza asked Angelica. Peggy agreed. Her and Stephen stood up.
"Abieu, until tomorrow", Peggy waved good night.
"Sleep well", Eliza waved back. Angelica nodded as she yawned.
"Yes please", they headed to their guest bedroom.
"I'll send John into you. They would work all night if I allowed it", she shook her head. Her husband could be insatiable. Eliza knocked on Alexander's office door.
"Come in", he called.
"Everyone has retired to bed. I'm going to check on Philip then head into bed", she told Alexander. He nodded.
"We're nearly done here. I'll be into you shortly", he smiled at her.
"Goodnight John, Angelica is waiting for you in the guest room. Alexander can show you to it if need be", she smiled as she closed the door.
She checked on her sleeping son, giving him a kiss. She felt so guilty for ignoring him for the past 2 days. Alexander would be leaving at some point tomorrow. He had to go to the trial.
Once she was in their room, she undid her corset and took off her dress and petticoats. She shivered after taking off all the layers, she put on her nightdress. Eliza lit the beside candles before reading her book as she waited on Alexander.
"You look beautiful, my angel", he smiled at her as soon as he came into the room. She blushed slightly.
"The bed is cold without you, you better hurry up and get in it", she teased. Alexander stripped down. He smirked as he pulled the blankets off of her. He kissed her before she could protest. She moaned as he sucked on the delicate skin on her neck.
"Ah", she whined as he left a hickey.
"Shh, we have guests and the walls are thin", he whispered to her. She moaned as she kept her lips shut tightly.
…
Eliza laid her head on his chest. She traced small circles around his stomach.
"What time are you leaving tomorrow?" She asked him. He sighed.
"I'm afraid, I'll be leaving after breakfast", he ran his fingers through her hair. Eliza nodded in understanding.
"And when will you be back?" She asked him.
"It could take 2 weeks", he told her honestly. Eliza sighed. What would she do for 2 weeks?
"Be safe", she reminded him. His safety while he was away always worried her. What worried her most was would he look after himself? She often has to bring him food and force him to sleep. He's not too keen on taking a break.
"I will be", he reassured her. "John paid me for sorting out his affairs, he also invested in the bank and gave us a loan".
Eliza nodded. She moved so that her back was turned away from him and he was cuddled into her. She felt safe in his arms.
"When you get back can we go to the theater?" She asked him. He smiled.
"I'd love to. Any particular play?" His fingers traced over her stomach. Eliza smiled as she thought about what they could see.
"Something from Shakespeare would be good", she told him. Her eyes drooping closed.
"Love you", she told him before she fell asleep.
…
"We are heading up to Albany", Peggy told them at breakfast. Eliza nodded. She was losing Peggy as well today.
"We will be off as well, we can't miss the ship", John told them. Eliza cried as she hugged Angelica.
"Write to me as soon as you get there. No delaying", Eliza told her. Angelica nodded through tears.
"Is that a hickey, dear sister?" Angelica whispered to her. She smirked at the flustered look on Eliza's face. Eliza smiled, a blush on her face as she wiped her tears away. She waved them off. Peggy and Stephen left shortly after.
"Thank you for your hospitality", Stephen smiled at her. She hugged him and Peggy.
Alexander wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I have to set off soon", he told her as he waved their guests off. Eliza nodded. She stripped the beds while Alexander got his papers in order to set off.
"May I be granted the luckiest man in the world and get a kiss from my angel before I leave?" He smiled at her. Eliza smiled at him. He was always so charming. She kissed him before waving him off. She handed him a flask of coffee and a packed lunch.
"I love you, best of wives and best of women", he waved from the carriage. Eliza sighed at how quiet the house was now. She set out cleaning it. Philip followed her around while she did so. Eliza found herself in Alexanders office rereading the letters he sent her. She wrote to Martha Washington, her mother and father. She could send James to send the letters later.
