The Adventures of Max and Leo: The girl has an announcement to make
Leo was waiting at the back porch for the girl to come. Max was still in the bedroom sleeping as it was pretty early in the morning. Sure enough, after waiting for a little while, the girl came up the back porch.
"Hey, Leo," the girl said.
"Hey, there," Leo said. "I'm glad you had a safe trip here."
"Yeah, we got here about an hour ago," the girl said. "I wanted to come here as soon as I finished unpacking."
"Cool beans," Leo said.
"So, where's Max?" the girl asked.
"He's still sleeping in the bedroom," Leo said. "Did you want to see him?"
"Yeah," the girl said.
"Alright," Leo said and then he opened the slide door gently. He and the girl came in and Leo closed the slide door behind him while the girl went to the bed Max was sleeping on and sat on it.
"He looks so peaceful asleep," the girl said.
"Yeah, he does," Leo said. "Did you want to snuggle with him for a little bit?"
"Sure," the girl said.
Leo knelt down at the girl's feet, untied her shoes, took her shoes and socks off and laid them aside. She then lied down on the bed and got under the blankets. The girl then faced Max and said, "Hey, Max, I'm here."
Max woke up and when he opened his eyes, he saw the girl.
"Hey, there," Max said. "Sorry I was asleep. Leo and I stayed up pretty late last night and played video games."
"It's okay," the girl said. "I just got to the beach an hour ago and I thought I'd go ahead and see you both."
"I appreciate it," Max said. "I know you were looking forward to seeing Leo and I for a little while."
"Yeah, I was," the girl said. "But, it's okay if you want to rest for a little while. I figured we could rest together. The car trip did wear me out some."
"Okay, let's do it," Max said.
"After you two get some more rest, I can whip us up some breakfast," Leo said. "How do breakfast burritos sound?"
"Like a breakfast of champions," Max said. "Thanks, Leo."
"Of course, Max," Leo said. "You both rest well."
"We will," the girl said.
Leo left Max and the girl alone to rest . . .
After a couple of hours of rest, Max and the girl both woke up.
"Hey, Max," the girl said. "You rest okay?"
"I sure did," Max said. "Did you?"
"Yeah, I feel a little more rested now," the girl said.
"So, now that you're here, what do you want to do?" Max asked.
"Well, are you and Leo planning on going out to the beach today?" the girl asked.
"No, we're staying in today since they're calling for rain this afternoon," Max said.
"Cool," the girl said. "So, are you and Leo going to play video games?"
"We plan on it," Max said. "Did you want to watch us play?"
"I do," the girl said.
"So, how long did you want to stay?" Max asked.
"I thought about staying the whole day," the girl said. "And then maybe I can come see you both again tomorrow."
"I'd like for you to come and see us every day if possible," Max said.
"I will see what I can do," the girl said. "Maybe tomorrow, I can come in my swimming suit if you two plan on going to the beach."
"I think we'll be back out there tomorrow," Max said. "So, I look forward to us having fun out there then."
"Me, too," the girl said.
"So, do you still draw?" Max asked.
"Yeah, I do," the girl said. "I even still draw pictures of you as the Super Swimmer from time to time."
"Nice," Max said. "I look forward to seeing what you got."
"I'll bring some then," the girl said.
"So, when you leave the beach, are you still going to work out where you can go to Portland some times?" Max asked.
"Well, about that . . . my parents are moving back to Portland," the girl said.
"Really," Max asked.
"Yeah, both of my parents said that they miss Portland so they both took jobs back there," the girl said. "In fact, when we got the house that we got, I looked around and saw that we were right in front of Leo's house."
"That's awesome," Max said. "That means I'll get to see you often again."
"Yeah, I'm glad about that, too," the girl said. "And I'll see to it that I see you often again."
"That'd be great," Max said. "Are you going to visit the arcade often then?"
"We sure will," the girl said. "I might even do what I did last year and hang out with you if that's fine with you."
"I'd love that," Max said. "We still have our break room that we hung out in from time to time."
"Awesome," the girl said.
Leo came in with food trays full of breakfast.
"Alright, breakfast is ready," Leo said and handed the treys to Max and the girl.
"Thanks, Leo," Max said.
"Of course," Leo said. "Let me go get a trey and we'll get our grub on before we get to gaming."
"Awesome," Max said.
Leo went to the kitchen to fix his trey of food and then came to the bedroom where Max and the girl were and the three started enjoying breakfast . . .
After breakfast, Leo collected the food trays and cleaned them as well as the kitchen before rejoining Max and the girl in the bedroom.
"So, Max, what video game do you want to start with?" Leo asked.
Max looked at the girl and said, "Should I tell him or should you tell him?"
"Eh, you tell him," the girl said.
"Tell me what?" Leo asked.
"Leo, she's moving back to Portland!" Max said.
"That is wonderful," Leo said.
"I'm getting the house in front of yours," the girl said.
"I was wondering why there was a "SOLD!" sign at the house in front of mine when Max and I were leaving to go to the beach," Leo said. "That is awesome."
"Yep, so the memories are continuing," Max said.
"They sure are," Leo said. "Now, I ask, what video game do you want to start with?"
"How does Sonic 2 sound?" Max asked.
"Like the time of our lives," Leo said. "Let's play."
Leo got the game ready for him and Max to play. The two then started playing while the girl watched diligently.
