Human Skales.
Zane and Maya felt closer t each other after visiting her family. He felt he knew more on Maya s they had told childhood stories and Maya talked of things he usually didn't talk with them. In that Zane began wanting to do things that Maya liked doing as well. She told him he didn't have to but he wanted to try them.
Maya was happy to share as she introduced some Anime to him and certain book series, video games that had nothing to do with ninja or even fighting at times, and he even found out she was a big fan of Star Fare. Turns out Lloyd was to and they had movie nights with him.
Zane felt strange he didn't' know this much about Maya before. 'I guess with all the fighting we do we barely have time to think on these things. I'm glad I do know though.'
He watched her cuddle up to him as they watched some Star Far with Lloyd one night. Not knowing that these peaceful days where coming to an end.
In the city of ouroboros, Farmadon held up the mega weapon "Finally, all four weapons put into one. But what to wish for. It can't destroy only create." He growled after trying to destroy an annoying serpentine.
"Perhaps I can make something to destroy the ninja instead, but what." Garmadon paced, trying to figure it out.
Skales came in and said "What's wrong, can't think of a plan?"
"I just don't know what I should make. What could destroy the ninja?" Garmadon growled. D
"You should concentrate on the green one first. He's your biggest threat." Skales hissed.
"True, if he keeps training he'll be a bigger thorn in my side then ever. But how to stop him. How to make him lose his will and cursh him." Garmadon hit a stone with the weapon.
"What about crushing his heart." Skales hissed in delight.
Garmadon eyes widened "Of course, I remember now. The panther ninja is very close to him. If he loses her, he loses his will."
"And I'll get my revenge." Skales chuckles.
"But how to do so, their stuck to each other like glue. We already know kidnapping her is no use. And an attack is pointless with their true potential out. Pluss Lloyd would only try to get in the way." Garmadon sighed.
Skale hissed at this, they have a better chance of winning I the brat wasn't around. "Oh what you're going to go with something simple like breath them up." Skales hissed.
Garmadon smiled and sad "Not a bad idea and you're going to be the one to do it."
"Wait what?" Skales looks shocked
"Imagine, you take the form of a human and use your serpentine powers to hypnotize the girl. That will crush the ninja and when no ones looking we both get what we want." Garmadon smiles.
Skales thinks of this and says "I'm starting to like this plan, but a human. Ack."
"It's only temporary, I can change you back." Garmadon frowns.
"Fine but don't make me ugly." Skale stood at a distance waiting for what was to come.
"Trust me you don't need help in that." Garmadon grinned.
Skales hissed but let it be for now.
"I wish to make Skales a human but to keep his hypnobry powers." Garmadon aimed the staff at Skales and the process begga. Skales yelled but the end result was well…..
IN front of him was a pale young man with dark messy hair, mahogany eyes, sharp features, and wearing teal cloths.
"So how do I look?" Skales asks.
"Perfect, this will get that girl ninjas attention for sure." Garmadon beams but then panted as he kneeled down.
"What's wrong?" SKales raised a brow.
"It would seem that the power of the megaweopon is so great that I can only use it once a day." Garmadon sighs.
"I have to stay like this a whole day!" Skales yelled.
"Relax, we don't even know how long this plan will take. So just enjoy yourself." Garmadon shrugs.
"How can I enjoy myself in this scales form." Skales tried to hiss but found he couldn't' and groaned.
"That's another thing you need a code names. How about Scott. It's easy to remember and similar to your name." Garmadon plotted.
"Fine okay what now?" Skales glared.
"Now we need to find the ninja. I'll send some snakes to search for them. For now I suggest getting used to your form and seeing how well it works out with others." Garmadon smirks as he walks off.
Skales growled but headed off. Well he might as well get some fun out of this.
With the ninja….
Maya had started trying to figure out more about the necklace, she tried seeing if she could somehow activate the blast or shield but that didn't work.
"I guess it only works if it feels threatened." Maya sighs.
The day was nice out and it seemed like not much was going. "Maybe I'll paint. Haven't had much time for it lately." So she brought her easel and canvas out.
As she painted, she found herself making a picture of sakura trees. 'Their probably in bloom right now. Maybe Zane and I should go see them sometime.'
At that moment Zane came out and said "There you are. I just finished training for the day and wanted to know if you wished to go out."
"That be great." Maya smiles.
"Is that the sakura trees." Zane holds her from behind as he admires the pictures.
"Yeah I've always loved how pretty they are, but never had a chance to see them live." Maya sighs.
"They are in bloom at the moment, perhaps we can go see them." Zane smiles.
"Really, I was thinking the same thing actually. Just let me get ready okay." Maya left and Zane smiled. He looked down at himself and decided to get dressed as well.
Meanwhile….
Skales was in Ninjago city, looking for something to do. So far he'd gone to see a horror movie where he was laughing his head off while everyone else trembled. 'Humans are so easily scared.' He thought.
Then as he walked about, he decided to have some human food. He got it for free using his powers. 'Not as good as serpentine food, but not bad, what's this called again. Cake?'
He then came to a thing went to what humans called a park. It was peaceful, too peaceful. He wanted to make some trouble but knew that Garmadon would have his head if he tried.
Suddenly he heard a gasp and he turned to see some females staring at him. 'Hmm I wonder.' He winked at them and they all yelled like wild animals as they started to chase him. At that Skales ran.
'Are humans truly this barbaric, or has that fool made me too attractive in their sense.' Skales would get back at Garmadon later, right now he had to get out of here as he dodged and weaved away from the crazed girls.
Meanwhile…..
Maya and Zane had finally made it to the sakura trees. Maya in a flowy short lavender dress with a white ribbon around it and black flats. A white sakura in her hair and the dress was held up in a choker fashion with a small little white pearl in the middle.
Zane was wearing mint green jeans, white tennis shoes, and his white polo. The two where flushed at how well the other looked and walked about in silence for a bit, holding each other's hand as they just enjoyed the flowers.
Maya said "I'm glad we could come here, I was worried with your knew training it be harder to have time together." Maya leans into him.
"I was worried about it myself, but I believe Sensei understand our bond and how we need time with each other." Zane smiles down at her.
"I'm glad he does. Let's sit for a bit. It's getting a little warm." Maya waves her hand over her face.
"How about I get us some shaved ice. It will help us cool down." Zane smiled as he headed to get their treats.
"Blueberry please." Maya calls.
"Of course." Zane nods and heads off.
A snake saw the two and saw Maya alone and thought "Perfect." He the activated his come.
Skales was panting behind some building when he got the call "What, what is it?" he said annoyed.
"I found the ninja and the girls alone. You're not too fare. She's at the sakura walk." The snake said.
"Finally. Stay there and keep me updated." Skales smiles as he hurries off. It was finally time for the plan to commence.
Maya took in the slight breeze that came in 'Sigh, that feels good. Things have been so peaceful lately, but I'm worried of what the enemy might be plotting. I wish we had a way to figure it out their plans a little more.'
Maya then frowned as she looked down at her necklace 'I still don't understand the whole story of my necklace or being the panther ninja but I do wonder what it will lead to.' She holds her necklace at this, contemplating what secrets Sensei Wu was hiding and what big destiny she had coming her way.
Suddenly she heard "Hello is this seat taken."
Maya looked up surprised and say a pale man with dark hair just a little older than her. "Oh sorry go on ahead." She gets up so the man can sit. 'He smells sort of familiar but I can't tell.'
Skale didn't' want Maya to identify him so he used some perfume he found to hide his scent. 'She hasn't recognized me good.' He smirks.
"You can is you know. Don't want to kick a lady out of her seat." He tries to pull off a charming smile.
'This one a flirt.' Maya had to chuckle inwardly at the amusing man and said "That's okay my boyfriend will be here soon."
"Oh really, I should have known someone as pretty as you had someone." He winked. 'Come on the other females fell for it why aren't you?'
"I think you should stop before you get into trouble." Maya frowned a bit. She was not used to being flirted with, most guys didn't look her way since she usually didn't dress up. 'Great I dress up for my date and I attract someone else, not good.'
"Well he's a lucky guys but you sure I can't convince you to hang out with me instead." Skales grabs her hand and kisses it.
Maya pulls it back and cleans in with a growl "Hey I told you to back off."
'Hmm new plan.' Skales steps up and says "Just trying to be friendly." He holds her arm and Maya tries to struggle but Skales uses his powers.
Maya, not knowing it was Skales, saw into his eyes as she tried to tell him off, but as she did she was sadly affected.
'Step one complete.' Skale smirks. Then he heard footsteps, the saw the white ninja coming. 'Now's my chance.' He smirks.
"Okay ninja, plant one on me." Skales smirks.
Zane comes up looking down at the shave ice "Maya they did not have blueberry but I remember that you also prefer cherry and…."
Zane looked up and his heart stopped at the sight of Maya leaning up to kiss another man. He dropped the shave ice at that and called "Maya."
Skale pulled back and said "Oh sorry, guess she just couldn't help herself. I have that affect on females." Skales smirks.
Zane felt himself shakes, he wanted to punch this man, but he couldn't. Maya chose to kiss him but yet. 'Why?' He looked on with a broken heart and some tears.
Maya looked over at Zane still dazed and shook her head "Zane. What….?"
At that Zane ran off. "Zane!" Maya called shoving Skales away as she rushed off after him.
Skales chuckled and commed Garmadon "Mission accomplished."
"Good but don't stop there, we have a full day to make this work for us. Really make them hate each other." Garmadon smirked.
"I'm starting to like this plan more and more." Skales chuckled as he headed off to see how bad things where going.
Meanwhile….
Zane was trying to rush back to the bounty when he heard "Zane wait up!" He stopped but only to turn back to her and asked "Why?"
"Why what, Zane what happened?" Maya's head hurt, she didn't remember what happened for a second there.
"What do you mean you were right there. Breaking my heart." Zane felt tears fall.
"Zane all did was tell that guys to leave me alone. What are you talking about." Maya looks more confused and worried from his tears.
"That's not what I saw." Zane hung his head 'How can she lie straight to my face.'
"What do you mean, what did you see?" At that Zane looked up shocked, he was angry she didn't seem to know but sensed it, she was confused. And her face, she looked like she was ready to cry.
"Maya you really don't know what happened?" Zane looks one wide eyed.
"Zane tell me what happened your scaring me!" Maya cries.
"Maya you kissed him, right in front of me." Maya gasped and then felt her lips and then, spit out.
"What, Zane I would never…..How can you say, I do taste something but how. I don't even remember." Zane eyes widened at this and he rushed up to her.
"You don't remember." Zane could sense she wasn't lying.
"No I don't. Zane what's going on?" Maya looks worried.
Zane was going to say something when he noticed the stranger hiding behind a tree and spying. "You!" Zane shouted and chased after the stranger.
"Zane wait for me!" Maya called and fallowed.
But Zane was livid, someone had touched Maya to make them mad at each other, made her do something she didn't want to and didn't even remember. He was not letting this go.
He trapped the man by a stone wall and said "Who are you and why did you do that?" Zane glared.
"Wouldn't you like to know ninja." Skales smirked.
"How did you know…." At that Zane realized it, something about the man was familiar, his stance his speech and the eyes.
"Skale?" Zane looked on surprised.
SKales chuckled and said "Look into my eyes ninja."
Zane closed his eyes and willed himself not to look. That's when Maya entered "Zane what's going on?"
"Oh good you're here." Skales hissed.
"Maya don't…" Zane tried to warn.
"She's already bean affect remember ninja! Take him out girl." Skales called.
Maya held her head and tried to stop 'No, no I won't hurt him. Zane, no I I…' "Roar!" Maya roared as she charged at him."
Zane had to block her attack as Skales took a quick get away.
"Maya please this is not you, you have to wake up." Zaen pleaded.
"Destroy ninja!" Maya roared as she charged at Zane with her claws.
Zane blocked them but that was all he could do, he could never fight Maya.
'There must be a way to snap her out of it. If only I had the inti venom of the flute…' Thats when Zane got an idea.
He had started finding out that he was pretty good at mimicking certain sounds. Maybe if he tried hard enough…
Zane began to whistle the flutes song and Maya held her ears in pain. Zane flinched slightly, hating that Maya was in pain but had to do this to free her.
He kept whistling to get her to snap out of it. But she still fought him off. "Why is it not working."
Suddenly "Zane what's going on?"
"Sensei I am glad you are there. Maya needs help." Zane answered.
"What happened, we've bean getting multiple serpentine sightings and talk of a strange man causing trouble in Ninjago city." Wu explains.
"That strange man is Skales, he somehow gave himself a human form and hypnotized Maya." Zane jumps out of the way of Maya's attack.
"The mega weopon, my brother must of done this. But why?" Wu is confused.
"He was trying to ruin our relationship for some reason, Skales hypnotized Maya to make her kiss him in front of me and make us fight but we figured out something was wrong. But know he has her fighting me. And I have no way to free her, not even whistling the ancient flutes song is working." Zane does spinjitsue to deflects Mayas own.
"I'll have the others go after Skales. We have a description so far. As for a cure…The song was a good idea, but you need something stronger. Something that connects to Maya's heart. Remind her of who she is Zane." Wu explained.
"Thank you Sensei I will try." Zane jumps back from Maya's claws and turns off his com.
Zane kept dodging as he tried to figure out what how to get Maya to listen. 'There must be something, something that can trigger her emotions, but what…' Then he remembered something. His mind went back to the time he was chosen as the green ninja and he and Maya shared the same thought for a moment.
'I think I know.' Zane got a determined Looked and pinned Maya to a tree as she kept struggle and said
"Maya listen to this." Zane begged as he closed his eyes and remember he heard.
"Where the north wind meets the sea."
Maya stopped at that looking on wide eyed but they were still red.
"Ah ah ah ah
There's a river."
At that they where no longer red.
"Ah ah ah ah
Full of memory."
And finally she finally untensed "Zane? What…."
"It's okay. It's okay." Zane holds her close.
Maya then remembered it all, even the kiss and cried "Zane I'm sorry how…"
"It was not you, it was Skales. Come let us return to the bounty. Sensei will know if you are fully healed and then we can try and see if we can capture Skales." Zane kissed her gently before holding her hand.
Maya nodded and they rushed off.
Once on the bounty Sensei found she was cured as for Skales….
"The little snake got away." Kai glared as they got on the ship.
"At least we where able to save anybody that was affected by him." Zane shook his head.
"I can't believe how much free cake he got." Cole said in disbelief.
"Or how so many of those girls weren't hypnotized, what did they see in the guys." Jay frowns at the crazy girls that mobbed them because they wanted to know about Skales.
"It's those vampire love novels. Skales does look like one." Nya shrugged.
"And you know this how?" Jay raised a brow.
Nya coughed and said "Well now we know somewhat of what Garmadon is capable with the weapon. The thing is why he targeted Maya…."
"Because she is with me." Zane looked down sadly.
They all turned to him and Kai said "Hey Zane don't pin this on yourself."
"Yeah Garmadon did this not you." Jay crossed his arms.
"Still if I was not so close to Maya, would he target her so fiercely?" Zane looked up sadly.
Maya gasped with tears "Zane you can't be thinking that. Are you saying you want to break up."
"I…" Zane looked on sadly and Maya ran out crying.
"Zane?" Wu looked on shocked.
"I do not want her in danger Sensei." Zane looked on sadly.
"Zane, Maya will always be in danger weather she is with you or not. It will be your will to protect each other and to stand up to Garmadon's tricks that will help strengthen your relationship. Will you let him win with one simple blow." Wu glared.
At that Zane took this in and thought 'It's true. I shouldn't of doubted our relationship. I should go talk to Maya.' Zane rushed off to find her and knocked on her door.
"Maya it is Zane, pleas open the door." Zane called.
"Go away! You broke your promise, you said you never hurt me." Maya cried.
Zane flinched, it was true but still "I am sorry for that. I should have not let my fear consumed me. I do not wish to hurt you Maya. You know that. I am not perfect but I want to be the best I can for you."
"You tried to run Zane, how can I trust what you're saying is true." Maya kept crying.
Zane looked down sadly and then got an idea as he ran off.
Maya heard the footsteps and felt her heart break. 'He's giving up again.' For a while she felt miserable and then heard a knock at her door.
"I said go away." But there was no response. Maya was confused and then went to check what was going on.
She saw nothing at first then noticed the envelope slightly frosted to her door. Maya was shocked 'He did this?'
Maya brought the letter in and sat on her bed to read.
'Dear Maya.
You are right. I did run. I was so afraid of what Garmadon would do to you if you stayed with me that I forgot that you are already so important even without me. You are amazing, and have always found a way into my heart one way or another. Leaving you would be impossible. But I've pushed you and my heart aches from that. I did break my promise but I realize I am not perfect, but as long as I can keep it I will do my best my love.'
Maya flushed at the nick name and felt her heart warm at his words. 'Could he mean them?'
'If you do not believe me, I will be waiting on the deck where we had our first date. I will wait there, and wait, and wait until you come out so I can reconcile with you. But I will not leave my spot till you do. I love you.
From Zane.'
Maya's eyes widened and then looked outside her window to see a storm coming "Zane you crazy."
She rushed out to go and get him. The boys were waiting by the door and saying "You think he'll stay out there, he's pretty resistant, if he can stay underwater I don't think the rain will bother him."
"Get out of the way!" Maya shouted as she pushed the boys out and ran out to him.
"Well that didn't take long." Kai smiled.
"Seeing that storm must of convinced her." Jay nodded.
"Or they really love each other." They all turned to see a frowning Nya and they all smiled sheepishly.
"What's going on." Lloyd came out confused. He had been playing video games the whole time so he wasn't up to speed.
"We'll explain in a minute we want to see this." Kai points outside.
"You can explain now, leave them alone." Nay glared and the guys groaned at hey headed off to the living room to tell Lloyd what happened.
Nya shook her head and smiled at the outside and thought 'Good luck guys.'
Outside…..
Maya rushed out to see Zane in am meditated position as the wind picked up a bit and the clouds grew dark. "Zane are you crazy!" Maya shouted.
Zane jumped as he looked back "Maya you are here."
"Of course I am, you sent me the sweetest letter and threaten to get yourself sick. Of course I'm here." Maya frowns but you could see a smirk in her eyes.
"I am sorry, I just wanted to show you how serous I am." Zane smiles as he get ups.
Maya glumps him and says "Next time brings flowers or chocolates, don't put yourself in danger. I love you Icy, but never do that again." Maya cries.
"I am sorry I promise I will never thing of such a thing ever again. If Garmadon wants to go after us, then he will have to face us." Zane said determined.
"That's all I wanted I want you to fight for us. Don't give up because of our enemies, don't give the that satisfaction." Maya looked up with tears.
Zane's heart hurt at seeing he caused her to cry and he nodded "Never, never again."
"Good now lets get out of this storm you can make this up to me with dessert." Maya smirks as he drags him in.
Zane chuckled and said "As you wish love."
Everyone was glad to see the two back together, though they could have done without the two feeding each other cookies. Oh well guess when they where in a lovey mood they couldn't do anything. At least they where back to normal.
Back at ouroboros.
"How could you fail. I made sure you where irresistible for a reason." Garmadon growled.
"So that's why I kept getting mobbed by females. Wait how could you know what they would like." Skales raised a brow.
"I was married once, you think I don't know a thing or too about attraction." Garmadon frowned.
"Yeah well it failed, you better turned me back to normal tomorrow." Skales growled.
"After your miserable failure I should leave you like this for a week." Garmadon frowned.
"Oh come on no. You can't do that. Garmadon!" Skales called in a panic as the crazy man left to his own room.
