A few months have passed since Rose "banished" Bismuth. She lied to the other gems that she was on a mission with her. But... they got lost and Rose couldn't find her. The logical explanation was that she could have been captured by the homeworld gems. Whatever the reason, Rose kept the truth to herself, and only herself. From time to time, she would secretly visit Lion and enter his pink mane to check on Bismuth's bubble. This reminded her of the time she bubbled all the other Quartzes. Rose wondered for how long will they stay there. Forever maybe? But what will happen in the future? Will she always be fighting Earth? Will she always be the saint to everyone's eyes and hid the darkest demons of her heart underneath forever? Rose never felt guilt ever in her entire existance. Not since when she destroyed her previous Pearl's eye, or sending Spinel away, or the bubbling the Quartzes. Now another thing was added in her long list of sins. Keeping Bismuth in a bubble and away from the other gems. She knew that if the cursed Breaking Point was ever used, it would have been the end of the Diamonds... her family. Rose quickly stopped.
"They are not my family. They are... my enemies." thought Rose to herself.
Again with the lies. Rose caught herself lying from time to time to herself and to the other gems. And the sad part was that the gems had no idea about Rose's inner thoughts. Not even her confidant Pearl. No. Not a confidant. A tool. No! Rose again thought long and hard about her choices. Pear was her friend, but was she just using her to get away with some things? What was the whole point of it all then? Coming to Earth, falling in love, and choosing to fight homeworld. For the Crystal Gems, this was a battle for their home, the place where they were born, or forced into labor and saw the beauty of the planet. Rose saw Earth that way. And that was all. Earth was her home now. Not Homeworld where she was thrown time and time again in that miserable tower whenever she tried to cheer up Blue, Yellow or even White. They would call her a child and throw her away like a doll. Who was at fault here? Her or them? Rose put the entire blame on the Diamonds, and not on her. She lied to herself thinking that perhaps this was the only way. There was no other way. She will fight for Earth, even if it killed her. So much was at stake now. The Diamonds have been quiet for too long and Rose knew it was only a matter of time before they attacked. And the day she feared was finally coming. Shortly after she visited Lion, she arrived to the village through the warp pad. There, Pearl and Garnet were standing together speaking to one another.
"Rose! The Homeworld Gems are coming! And Yellow, Blue and White are in charge!" cried Pearl.
"They will massacre everyone! We all are ready for battle, but we might not survive." said Garnet.
"Calm down everyone. First off, where is everyone?" asked Rose.
"Getting ready for war." replied Garnet.
"Good. Garnet, you take sqad fifty seven and Pearl will take squad twenty five. I'll take squad thriteen." said Rose.
"Are you sure? The squad team ups have been a very bad idea. Since Bismuth is nowhere to be found, there isn't anyone who would put them in their place. All they do is fight among eachother." said Pearl.
"Let me talk to them. I'll knock some sense into them. Let's get ready for the battle." said Rose.
A few hours later, the Crystal Gems stood before the massive army of Homeworld. They had perfectly lined up Topaz, Jaspers, Aquamarines, Agathes, and Rubies all lined up in perfect lines, each of them wielding the same weapons they were assigned to. Rose scoffed at the sight of them. To her, they were just playthings for the tyranical Diamonds. (Tyranical. Can I really call them that? Like I'm one to talk.)
Rose snapped herself out of it. There were times her mind would drift and think of other things. "Everything alright Rose?" asked a worried Crystal Gem Aquamarine.
"I'm fine. Just ready for war." said Rose.
A pebble crystal gem climbed on to Rose's shoulder and whispered in her ear.
"The soldiers are on the move as we speak Rose. And just as you predicted, the Diamonds are in outer space, watching from their ships." said the pebble.
"Cowards. They are not even brave enought to come and face us all." said Rose.
"Ready when you are Rose!" cried Garnet.
"Alright everyone! ATTACK!" cried Rose.
And with that, the Crystal Gems began to fight the Homeworld gems. It was a massive battle. Gems from both sides began to either poof away, or get shattered. Rose however was extremely careful. She used her sword only to poof away the gems, not kill them. But as she looked around, she realized Bismuth was right. The Homeworld Gems didn't care. They were poofing away gems, then they smash them with their weapons. This scene angered Rose and she furiously attacked.
Garnet also fought alongside Pearl as they stood close to Rose, guarding her.
"There are too many of them!" cried Garnet.
"What are we going to do?!" cried Pearl.
"I don't know." replied Rose as she defend herself with her shield and striked with her sword.
From afar, Blue, Yellow and White watched as the gems were fighting.
"All of this fighting... it's meaningless." said Yellow.
"Pink would be devestated to see her beloved planet in ruins." said Blue.
White Diamond smiled, for she knew what was REALLY going on, but she kept it to herself. She simply patted Blue Diamond's back.
"My poor dear Blue. Weep not for this planet. Pink would have had it destoryed if it went too far like this. I propose we end the misery of this battle once and for all. And we shall see what will become of this Rose Quartz." said White.
"You mean... the Light Beam? That could end this!" said Yellow.
"But it's too extreme! The gems there will be destoryed! And to make matters worse, humans and animals won't survive the beam!" said Blue.
"Humans? Animals? Have you been reading into this planet Blue?" asked Yellow.
"Pink came to me to spare the lives of humans and some animals as well." said Blue.
"Life is life my dear Blue. Life is but an illusion. A dream. Nothing exists down there. Nothing will." said White.
Yellow stood up. "Let us end this battle. I tire of this damn rebellion."
White grinned and glanced at Blue. "What about you? What will you choose? Traitors or vengance for Pink?" said White.
Blue nodded and moved her hand towards Earth. "I choose DEATH."
Rose poofed a homeworld gem in front of her and then she looked up to see three diamond shaped lights appear in the sky. Rose watched in horror and couldn't belive what she was seeing.
"Rose!" cried Garnet. That was enough to make Rose freak out. Garnet saw the future and she was already warning her.
"They can't be serious! Surely they are joking!" she cried to herself. This was no joke. The beam was coming down there! Rose quickly made her shield very large and quickly pulled both Pearl and Garent close to her.
"Close your eyes!" she cried as the beam hit the Earth.
Rose awakened on the dead ground. She quickly rose up and saw the terrain. It was all destroyed and only Garnet and Pearl were standing.
"We... we lost?" asked Pearl.
"No. They think they did. They poofed everyone away, even their own!" said Garnet.
"How awful!" cried Pearl.
Rose walked close to them. "Homeworld think they won, but not for long. It will take time, but we will be reborn." said Rose.
"How Rose? How will we rise up from these ashes?" cried Garnet.
"I know them. Homeworld will stay away from this planet for a little bit. Right now, they will put this planet on hold. A ton of their recources here have been destroyed by us already. However, since all this happened, the Diamonds may have a back up plan. One that will take them time to build. In the meantime, we will have to work hard to make the most of our lives and destory anything Diamond related. There are Gems that are corrupt and are attacking humanity. We need to find out where they are and destroy them. That wil take us time.' said Rose.
(Lying again to cover yourself. Classid Pink Diamond.) the voice again in her mind. Rose turned around and saw no one. The only thing she did see were large weapons on the ground, and gems that have been shattered to pieces. This was a terrible day for the Crystal Gems. They started out strong. But now... only three of them remain. Pearl, Garnet and Rose. And only Rose. Not Pink Diamond. Rose.
