Three long days passed, full of drunken, depressing, and sleepless nights. She didn't even bother going to his classes; but after a long talk Addy convinced her to go and take the final for Hunt's class. Hunt was even less enthusiastic about finishing the semester, but unlike her, he had no one to push him forward. Somehow, the things he really hated, like organizing his annual end-of-term dinner party, became kind of an escape for him in which he didn't have to think about her every single second of every single day.
It was the first time they saw each other since that night. Even though he had forced himself to erase her number from his phone, the digits were still fresh in his memory. He dialed the number several times, never actually going through with the call. Always pressing that stupid red button. He felt like an addict in withdrawal desperate to get his small fix. To see her walking through the door of that auditorium felt like a bittersweet joy. Instantly, he knew she was a far better actress than what he had given her credit for. Although she avoided his glare all the time, he just knew she was dying inside as much as he was, yet she looked radiant and happy.
He made it a point to distribute the tests himself, to each student, just to get a little bit closer to her. As she felt his proximity, she started to feel a numbness throughout her whole body. Remaining still, looking directly straight into the podium, like an ethereal marble statue.
He extended the exam to her, hoping to get a touch of her skin when she reached for it. She sat down, unmoved. More than one noticed the strange exchange, but before it got too awkward, he just left the piece of paper on her desk and moved on as he sighed.
For the next hour and a half, she stared at the piece of paper and struggled to fill all the empty spaces. She wanted nothing more than to drop everything and just get away as far as possible. She wished she could just go somewhere else where no one knew her, start over; maybe that way she could have a shot at getting over him one day. Still, Addy, always the voice of reason, convinced her that she could not risk her entire future just because of a failed relationship. However, she felt that this relationship, even though it was short lived, changed her life forever. Thomas had changed her life in such a way that she was convinced it will take her a long, long time to forget about him. And how could she even begin to get over him when he was there all the time, staring at her from that podium with his steel gray eyes and that glare full of desire.
During the last twenty minutes she was able to finally concentrate and so she began to write as fast as she could. Time passed so quickly that before she knew it, the time was up. She turned around and inspected the room. There were only two other students in there, aside from her and Hunt. One of the students was on her way towards Hunt's desk and the second student was picking up his stuff as he was getting ready to turn in his exam as well. She had five minutes left and 3 questions remaining. She could either leave the questions blank and leave so she could avoid being alone with Hunt or answer as best as possible and get a better grade. She knew she had to get the best possible grade, but the thought of being alone with him was unbearable. She gathered her belongings as soon as possible, but when she turned around the last student was already exiting the auditorium. Her hand began to shake and sweat as she grabbed the test and rushed to towards his desk. She extended her test to him, letting it drop in front of him before he could even reach for it. Immediately, she turned around and headed for the exit.
"Luna… you still have a few minutes. I can give you more time to finish your test. Here…" he stood up and approached her.
"You did not make the same concession for the rest of the class, it wouldn't be fair to my classmates" she answered still on her statue mode, avoiding his eyes, looking at the distance.
"Luna, please, just take the test. You need to get the best grade possible" he pleaded.
"For someone that fucked up my life the way you did you sure care about trivialities such as grades" she continued walking towards the exit, refusing to turn her eyes to him.
"Luna… please, don't do this" she stopped once again, and he started to walk towards her. He knew it would be best just to let her go, but his last shred of willpower evaporated upon her presence. For that moment he only cared about him and his need to have her close to him, like a moth to the flame. As she felt his closeness, she turned around instinctively.
"Stay back…" she whispered. He stopped just a few feet away from her, like if she had an invisible dome or shield around her that prevented him to get any closer. He felt like a thirsty drifter that just saw the mirage of an oasis, and it didn't matter how close he thought he could get to it, it was never close enough.
"Luna, last time you didn't let me explain… this was getting too risky, I couldn't do that to you, to your future" he spoke softly and assertive.
"Fuck the future! All I wanted was to be with you, that's all that truly mattered to me, but you are just a spineless coward. Nothing else to explain… you broke my heart, not once but twice! I trusted you, and your stupid insecurities made you ran away from the best thing that has ever happened to you. You are a wuss"
There were a million things he wanted to say to her, but what for? The result would still be the same, they couldn't possibly be together. This was just another attempt to sabotage himself. The only thing he could do was let her go. She was right after all; he was really a wuss.
"See? Am I right, professor?" In the moment she saw his eyes widened, something just clicked in her brain. If he could be such a coward, she could also be a tease. Let him realize all that he was missing. Suffer for it. She narrowed her eyes and smiled at him in a mischievous manner that he knew a little too well. She started to approach him. "I can feel your heart racing from here. The way you look at me, with that voracity. You still want me, professor?" she whispered just inches away from his lips.
He swallowed his desire and took a step back. "What? You're not following me anymore? You're nervous, huh?" she half smiled "I guess I better get home; I need to take a long, steamy, warm bath after this test. You remember, don't you?" She whispered once again, smiling as she turned around, leaving Hunt clearly shaken. He missed her so much it physically hurt not to take her into his arms and make love to her.
...
The end of course was finally here, and her name appeared first on the list of guest students for Hunt's end of course dinner party. It was the first and only name he really cared about, so it was the first name he wrote on the list. The fact that she was the only student whose name started with the letter A made it just easier to justify.
Although the breakup hurt her deeply, she knew that he still wanted her. She had no idea what had changed his mind, but she had absolutely no doubt that he desired her as much as she did. She could see it every time they crossed paths and he stared at her fervently. His eyes felt like two burning flames that scorched her skin, slowly inciting the dirtiest thoughts possible. The tension in the air was so obvious that Addy had to warn her about it.
Ethan, Addy and Luna had been invited to the dinner and had planned on make it a fun night, renting a limousine with open bar; they had planned to ride the limousine for at least a couple of hours before the dinner so they could take full advantage. Luna's cellphone rang but she had both hands occupied with the curling iron. Addy answered and immediately pressed the "speaker" button.
"Hey beautiful…" his low tone and husky voice reminded her of a very specific person. Addy teased her with a little push as both girls smiled.
"Hey, Eths. What's up? You're on your way?" she replied, trying to forget as quickly as possible.
"Not really. I'm running a bit late and also… we have a little bit of a change in plans"
"Please tell me that open bar is still an option. I'm going to need it today more than ever!" Luna whined.
"Yeah, don't worry about that. The thing is that I have to go and pick up a new client. It turns out that he was also invited to Hunt's dinner party and asked me as a special favor to take him over there. I'm sure you two beautiful girls are not going to have any objections… do you?" He sounded relaxed and charming.
"Of course not, dummy! I love to meet new people!" Addy responded before Luna could articulate a word.
"Perfect. I gotta go, we'll be there soon!" he hung up before she could even blink.
"How exciting! A new talent in town. You know Ethan is so good at what he does that it has to be someone on the rise! I wonder who it can be…" Addy pondered.
The doorbell started to beep on the distance and Addy got up and ran towards the sound.
"I just hope it's not who I'm thinking…" she whispered to herself.
"The dresses are here, finally!" Addy came back holding two plastic bags with the dresses perfectly dry cleaned inside. "I guess Ethan is going to be the only one late for once. I'm almost ready and so are you" she passed a red dress to Luna, who received it carefully.
She took out the delicate piece from the plastic bag and smiled smugly. "If this doesn't drive Hunt crazy, I don't know what will"
"You are so bad… I can't believe you are actually going to wear that to the dinner party" Addy grinned.
"I told you… Hunt ruined my life and now I'm going to ruin his. He's going to regret breaking up with me"
"You should make him jealous with someone… just not Ethan. That poor guy is finally getting over you, but if you give him any chances, he'll get all excited again"
"You know what… you might be right. I would never do that to Ethan… but maybe there is someone who I wouldn't mind using as a little rebound" she grinned.
"OH. MY. GOD. Who is it!?" she asked excitedly, wide eyed.
Luna turned her eyes to her friend "Who do you think?" she raised an eyebrow.
"Guillermo?!" her friend was as excited as a twelve-year-old teenage girl. Luna nodded and Addy squealed. "I thought you didn't want anything to do with him ever again"
"I didn't. But now that he's back and harasses me at every opportunity he has, maybe I can take advantage of that. I'm sick and tired of being used by others, now is my turn to see what using someone feels like" there was a wicked look in her eyes, something new that Addy had never seen before.
"Luna, I understand you are hurt, and it was technically my plan, but I'm not sure if that will solve anything. I was talking more of a little flirting with someone"
"I don't want to solve anything, Addy, I want to get even. I'm so fucking tired of giving my heart out to the complete wrong people. I'm not even sure if I have a heart anymore" she looked at her reflection, fighting the tears that quickly filled her eyes.
Addy couldn't find any words to appease her friend's pain, so she just hugged her while Luna cried with infinite sadness.
"Okay, I need to seriously stop this. I can't let this ruin my life and I can't allow Hunt to look at me like this, defeated" after a short while, Luna turned to the mirror and wiped her tears away as she reapplied the makeup her tears had ruined. "I want him to see me happy, to realize what he lost. I want him to see me with someone and I want him to go insane over that" she reapplied her makeup as Addy just looked at her with grief.
"I just hope you don't end up regretting this…"
"I won't" her pain was bigger than her reasoning, and even though she knew she was about to make some pretty bad decisions, she felt that there was no other way out.
...
The two friends approached the limousine while Ethan was outside by the door, waiting for them with a wide smile.
"Look at my two gorgeous girls! You look unbelievable…" he said in a generalized way, but he was glaring at Luna the whole time. "Come on in…" the two open-mouthed girls stared at each other in disbelief.
Guillermo…I knew it. Luna thought. This is too much of a sign not to do anything about it. She said to 's intuition kicked right in and her gut told her that the night promised broken hearts.
"Hey…" Luna said with a kiss on the cheek as she sat next to the handsome brunet. He grinned, surprised but delighted by her reaction. Ethan, who witnessed the interaction as he sat next to Addy, seemed confused as he looked inquisitively at Addy.
"Uh… do you know each other?" Ethan asked the couple.
"Oh, yeah, Luna and I go way, way back. Possibly from another life… You look absolutely stunning…" he looked at her with adoration as his feelings couldn't be clearer. Ethan gave a fake smile as he swallowed his disappointment.
"So, it's still quite early and I thought this was an open bar! Why don't I have a beer on my hand right now?" Luna joked.
"How mindless of me!" Guillermo reached for a beer and opened the bottle for her. "Here, gorgeous" the fake smile on Ethan's face quickly turned into a clenching.
Luna took a long sip as she emptied the bottle halfway. In less than 10 minutes she had drank almost 2 beers as they laughed and talked gleefully. Ethan was obviously having the worst time of his life as Addy tried to distract him. After about two hours and a lot of alcohol later, they arrived at Hunt's house. Addy knew that Luna's alcohol tolerance was quite high, but she worried about what her friend would do once she saw Hunt and how Hunt was going to react. Addy stopped drinking a while ago since she knew someone should remain in all their senses. "Luna, can I talk to you for a second?" Addy took Luna's arm as they were about to enter Hunt's house.
"Sure! You can talk to me all you want, because you are my best friend and I love you" Luna slurred while she hugged her friend and both girls walked to the side.
"Luna, are you sure of what you are about to do? You are clearly drunk and using that guy as a rebound to come and show him off to your ex in front of everyone. I was all for it, but maybe we should think this through…" she was genuinely worried.
"I told you, I made my decision, there is no going back. Don't worry Addy, everything will be fine"
"I don't want to be a fun killer, but I think you are about to do something very stupid"
"Stop it, Addy! I'm a big girl and I can handle myself. Just watch" she turned around perfectly composed and walked towards Ethan and Guillermo, linking arms with the latter, while her friend tried to catch up to her. They entered the house and Luna grabbed Guillermo's arm tightly as soon as she saw the interior of the house. Several things were missing, and several things were new. She felt something strange, a weird combination of nostalgia and renovation.
"Hunt's house is much more impressive than what I thought. He has impeccable taste" Guillermo looked around the room. "Look, there he is… Thomas!" Guillermo took Luna's hand and walked towards Hunt. As soon as Hunt laid eyes on her, all people there ceased to exist for that moment. She was a vision and he couldn't help his heart throb by her sole presence. They locked eyes and the young couple approached Hunt's circle. His eyes followed her arm until he noticed they were holding hands in a way that was more than obvious.
"Professor Hunt. The man of the hour. Thank you so much for inviting me. I don't think my date needs an introduction, being that she is your best student" Hunt's eyes burned with rage as he clenched his jaw and bit the sides of his mouth. Immediately, he felt the taste of blood on his mouth. Luna smirked as she noticed this, she always loved the way his jawline looked when he was pissed off.
"Good evening everyone. Thank you for the invitation, professor. You have a beautiful house, by the way" she grinned.
"Mr. Rivera. Ms. Armstrong" Hunt nodded, taking deep breaths as he tried to calm himself down. "Miss Armstrong here is the director of Clash at Sunset" he explained to Marianne Delacroix, who was by his side "Definitely one of the best students to ever pass through Hollywood U" he softened his eyes and smiled at her, only to remember that the hand she was holding was not his.
"Oh, wow. That is truly a recommendation letter coming from someone like Thomas. I've never heard you talked like that about any student, Tommy" she touched his shoulder and laughed. Luna's grin immediately disappeared.
"Well… of course we have good instructors, but no one can compare to professor Hunt" Luna replied softly and sincerely.
"You're just stating the obvious, darlin'" replied Marianne in a condescending tone. "And what about this handsome young man?" she smiled at Guillermo while she took a sip of her wine.
"Guillermo Rivera del Castillo, at your feet" he bowed and gave Marianne that irresistible smile that pretty much every woman out there melted for.
"Oh, aren't you charming… you are one lucky lady. You two make a lovely couple; don't they, Tommy?"
Thomas remained silent and the scene started to turn awkwardly uncomfortable. Trish, who was close enough to overhear the conversation, came in as soon as she could. "Mr. Hunt, we have a problem in the kitchen, do you have a minute?"
"Sure, Trish" he silently thanked her for saving him of that situation. "Excuse me Marianne, I'll be right back" he nodded to Luna and Guillermo as he stepped away.
Marianne and Guillermo started to chat as Luna took a glass of wine from one of the waiters that were passing through. She smiled and continued to be charming even though the alcohol was starting to cloud her thoughts.
After a while, Hunt emerged from the kitchen and announced that the dinner was to be served shortly. All the guests proceeded to look for their seats, when Luna found out that she was placed at the end of the table, on the opposite side of Hunt and Marianne. Guillermo was separated from her as well, and she knew damn well that it wasn't by accident. Guillermo was disappointed to be seated on the other side of the table, and he noticed that Ethan and Addy were seated next to Luna.
"Ethan, would it be terrible of me to ask you to switch places with me? I would hate to be so far away from such beauty" he turned and smiled at Luna.
Hunt, who overheard Guillermo, walked towards him as soon as he could "Mr. Rivera, there are several things that I would like to discuss with you, that's why I saved you a seat in this area, please come with me" Hunt said as he gestured the seat to Guillermo.
"Is there any way we can make room for my date? It would be extremely impolite of me to leave her by herself"
"She is a big girl, she can handle herself" Hunt turned to her, serious.
Luna smiled at Hunt and turned to Guillermo. "I AM a big girl. You go ahead, love. We'll have plenty of time after this party ends" Hunt widened his eyes in fury while Guillermo looked at her with a lustful stare. Hunt turned around immediately and walked rapidly towards his seat. Guillermo followed him and sat two seats away from Hunt. The dinner continued with soft jazz music playing on the background as the guests chatted and dinner was served. Everything was perfect. The silverware, the crystal glasses, the wine, the candles. The gentle breeze that caressed the skin in such a delicate manner that seemed almost supernatural.
As the evening progressed, Hunt tried to ignore Luna's existence, but he couldn't help to glance occasionally at her. The same question went through his head over and over. Why was she doing this to him? Seeing her smile at other man was something he wasn't sure he could handle. He began to shake every time Guillermo would gawk at her as she smiled back at him. That smile that took his breath away and gave him a boost of adrenaline to all his body. That lush smile and provocative eyes were no longer his, they were for somebody else. That killed him slowly.
Marianne took advantage of every single opportunity to get close to him; touch his shoulder, his arm or his leg as she leaned forward. In that moment Hunt wished everyone there would evaporate except him and Luna. He needed a moment to clear his mind, away from everyone there.
He excused himself and went to the wine cellar to pick a bottle of wine. He took a deep breath as he leaned against a shelf. It was there, in a complete silence, that her footsteps began to resonate mimicking his racing heart, making a beat that uneased him. Who else could it be?
"Luna… what are you doing here?" Hunt asked as he sighed, his eyes remained closed.
"I can't believe it's over" she said as she approached him with a slow and steady pace. "I can't believe this is it" By the time he opened his eyes, she was already standing in front of him. It was the sight he ached for day and night. "Why? Why did you do this?" she whispered into his lips.
He contemplated her beautiful, pleading eyes. "They're going to see us" he replied in an almost inaudible voice.
"So? I don't care. You miss me as much as I do… look at you, you are shaking" she came in even closer.
"Well… you look breathtaking" he knew that he needed to escape, but his body wouldn't respond.
"And you miss me, admit it. Your blood boils inside your veins every time I smile at another man. You are actually a pretty horrible actor"
"Unlike you… pretending to be happy holding his hand when I know you wore that dress because you want ME to tear it off" they locked eyes and smiled at each other in a short moment of yearned happiness. They were so close that their lips were about to touch when a voice broke the silence.
"Mr. Hunt! Are you here?" Trish sounded worried.
Hunt and Luna turned to the lady, breaking the moment. "Trish, I'm here. What's wrong?" He walked towards his assistant, leaving Luna slightly behind. "It's Miss Singh. The guard tried to talk to her about your directions, but she just disregarded him and went in and now she refuses to leave unless she speaks to you" Trish looked distressed.
"Tell the guard to take her out, I don't care how, call the cops if needed" he replied with a somber look.
"I'm not sure that is a good idea, Mr. Hunt. Miss Priya looks furious and she demands to talk to you. If you don't want any problems or scenes, I would recommend you talk to her. After everything that has happened between you two it's better to not contradict her"
At that moment, Luna came out of the shadows and Trish, who was unaware of her presence, instantly knew she had fucked things up.
"What is she talking about? What happened between you and Priya?" Luna demanded answers.
"Ms. Luna… I didn't know you were there… I, I'm so sorry. I'll go ahead and distract Ms. Singh while you two talk" the assistant turned around, locked the door from the inside, and left them in complete silence.
"Priya had something to do with our breakup, didn't she?" there was infinite sadness in her eyes.
Hunt wanted to tell her everything. He wanted to tell her how Priya was blackmailing him, how she had plenty of incriminatory evidence that would definitely finish with both their careers. How he was saving her by sacrificing their relationship. He wanted her to know everything so that together they could come up with a plan. But he just remained silent, admiring the only woman he had ever loved. He knew he had to give her up if he wanted her to be as successful as he knew she was destined to. He felt like such a coward with a purpose.
"I must leave. Please don't look for me anymore. This is over and that is final" he turned around and exited the cellar. Luna remained there, in the darkness, among a million pieces of what used to be her heart. One thing had changed, though. She finally knew who the perpetrator was. Priya. Singh.
...
"Come with me" Hunt took Priya by the arm, taking her into his studio. He made sure no one was around and closed the door behind them.
"Are you insane? I told you, you are not welcome here. Not tonight, not ever"
"You seem to have forgotten about my conditions. I was very clear with you; I will make sure you followed my instructions and broke things off with that woman. I will know when I see her and you in the same room. If you want me to leave, fine. But please understand that as soon as I leave, my next move is to ruin her miserable existence. You choose"
Hunt was on the verge of a mental breakdown. "Fine. You can stay and enjoy your victory. After this, my only hope is to not see you anymore" he gave up, he was losing the will to go on. That short-lived life full of hope and promises was dissolving in front of him.
"Whatever you say. I know that we belong together and one day you will see things my way" she walked pass him and went into the party. He sighed, took a glass from his desk and drank the only thing that appeased him and prevented him from going crazy, his good old whiskey.
-..Oooo...oooO..-
...
Priya sat down admiring her achievement. Luna, surrounded by her friends and date, glanced occasionally towards Hunt's direction. Their eyes found each other for a second, only to turn away a few moments later. She saw the pain in each lover, the sadness in their eyes, the desperation of their movements; she felt relieved. She knew that bringing Guillermo had been the right move, and her alliance with Bianca will only reassure that Hunt and Luna would never be together, securing her victory.
She hated having Luna so close, but she figured that the closer she had her, the more she would be able to control her actions. Priya noticed Marianne's interest in Hunt, but she wasn't worried. She knew that her most threatening competition was already out, so it didn't matter how many women threw themselves at Hunt, at the end of the day, she was going to be with him.
After a long evening, the guests started to leave as Hunt continued to be a charming host. The alcohol had settled a long time ago, and Luna had taken more than what she could handle. She felt dizzy and everything seemed hazy. Guillermo remained next to her all night; his arm encircled her waist as he brought her close to him. Hunt was giving out directions to the staff when Priya approached him.
"I see that your student found comfort in another man's arms sooner than expected. I don't blame her; he is such a good looking and talented young man with all his career in front of him. I guess she found you so vapid that it was easy for her to find a replacement. And there you were, willing to sacrifice your whole career for her" Priya whispered near his shoulder.
"What are you still doing here? You saw what you wanted already, now please leave"
"I'll leave as soon a she does. I will not take any chances of you two playing any games with me"
"I thought you trusted your instincts"
"I did, until I discovered your little affair with that whore"
"Stop calling her like that!" Thomas threatened in between teeth.
"Look at her, that's what she is. What else do you call someone who fools around with their teacher one day and a classmate the next?" she disregarded him.
"I know the power you have over me, but I'm not going to allow you to speak about her like that. If you want this to work out, you need to stop attacking her every second you can"
At that moment, Ethan, Addy, Guillermo and Luna approached both professors. They wanted to thank Hunt for having them over, except for Luna who just wanted to leave already and get out of such a horrible night. Guillermo was delightful and courteous, but he wasn't the same person Luna used to know and love. Fame had taken its toll on him, and he came across as narcissistic and self-centered, at least to her. Everybody else seemed to be delighted and amused around him, with all his stories about Europe and the exclusivity of the industry there. If at least she felt a little remnant of what she used to feel for him, maybe she had a chance of getting over Hunt. But everything had changed so much, including her. That night she realized that all relationships from that moment forward were meant to be nothing more than a rebound.
"Professor, thank you so much for inviting us. Everything was excellent, as always" Ethan offered his hand to Hunt and they shook hands in a friendly way.
"I look forward to working with you this summer. I'm very excited to learn and work by your side. And, of course, by the side of your most brilliant student. Why she is still a student and not a teacher already is beyond me" Guillermo said as he turned to Luna, who at that moment looked pale and tired.
In that moment, everyone turned to Luna, who looked worst every minute that passed. "Luna, are you alright? You look very pale" Addy took her arm as she tried to cheer her up. Everyone looked worried, except for Priya, of course, who would actually prefer Luna to drop dead at that moment.
"Yeah, I'm alright. I just had a little too much to drink I guess; I just need to lay down and rest" she said as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She started to feel increasingly dizzy, as if she was about to faint. It was extremely odd, since she could drink a lot and never felt anything like that. Priya narrowed her eyes in suspicion, maybe she was faking it, trying to make Thomas feel bad for her.
Hunt, as expected, felt instantly worried, "Luna, can I offer you something? Would you like to lay down? Maybe you can rest a little bit in the guest room, I don't mind"
Priya rolled her eyes as she replied "That is an exaggeration, Thomas. Maybe Ms. Armstrong here can't handle her alcohol and had a little bit too much to drink. If you can't handle your alcohol maybe you shouldn't be drinking, sweetie" the sarcasm filled comment surprised everyone but Luna.
"You might be right; we should get going guys. Thank you for your hospitality professor, it was a lovely dinner" Luna nodded at Hunt with a faint smile. He mirrored her gesture while trying to cope with the fact that she will be going home with other man that was not him. He refused to believe that she would actually be intimate with him. It was just way too soon.
-oo..oo—
...
The pristine black limousine parked right in front of the dorm complex. Luna was resting her head in Addy's lap as she caressed her multicolored hair. Now that Hunt was not there, there was no reason for her to be near Guillermo. That didn't prevent him from trying, though. He insisted in accompanying her to her room and even suggested spending the night to take care of her. With an obvious no as a reply, he was thinking of ways to convince her.
"Luna, I would really feel more comfortable accompanying you to your room"
"That is not necessary, really. I'm fine, just a little bit tired, that's it. I just need to rest. Besides, Addy will be there in case of anything"
"Say no more, we will be out of your way, girls. Good thing you have a couple of weeks to rest before starting the summer semester. This last semester was a killer for you! You deserve a little break" Ethan replied, trying to end Guillermo's relentless insistence.
"We haven't even begun the summer semester and I can't wait for it to be over. I'm exhausted guys, thanks for a lovely evening" there was a hint of sarcasm in her words. Addy and Luna turned around and walked towards their dorm. As soon as they were away from the young men, Luna whispered to Addy.
"Priya Singh has something to do with Hunt breaking up with me, and I'm going to find out exactly what that is"
"What? Are you sure?" Addy was genuinely surprised, Priya Singh looked so serious and by the book that it didn't seem to be her style.
"I'm sure. Didn't you see the way she looked at me? She spent the whole night next to Hunt like a guard dog even though he was about to call the police on her"
"What?! Why?" Addy replied, mouth wide open.
"That's what I need to find out, and I will"
"Luna, you should just let this go. Hunt already made his decision; you should move on and forget about him. Concentrate on your career and the bunch of hot guys here that would die to date you"
"I wish I could Addy, I really wish I could" she sighed as they entered their dorm. Hunt lived in her mind and heart, day and night, rent free. She hated it.
