The Titans had come to this island in hopes of finding their lost teammate Raven. They had to fight three dead villains, and then they came face to face with Raven's father Trigon. After warning them to leave the island he unleashed upon them creatures from Greek mythology, Cereberus the fire breathing three head dog charges at the young Titans followed closely behind by the menacing Minotaur. If Trigon thought that the sight of these creatures would be enough to turn the Titans from pursuing Raven, then he does know the Titans.
Beast Boy turns into a green duplicate of the Cerberus and both creatures fight a fierce battle, but it ends quickly as the fire drives Beast Boy backward. The creature is struck from above by Starfire. The Minotaur joins the battle, but he is cut off by Kid Flash whose speed confuses the creature for a moment, after watching him run the creature reaches out catching him by the arm and swings him across the land. Then Cyborg joins in tackling the Minotaur to the ground, while Wondergirl attacks the three-headed creature with Nightwing at her back.
The creature roars in defiance as Donna strikes him again, and Nightwing attacks its knees with mini bombs causing the creature pain. The Minotaur wrestles with Cyborg on the ground, both evenly matching in strength. The creature usings its horns to knock him off balance and a swing of its mighty arms send Cyborg reeling. He quickly recovers and uses 5,000 decibels of white sound at the beast causing it extreme pain, it straggles backward. Unknown it backs up to Beast Boy who was now a charging rhino as he strikes the creature down.
Donna and Nightwing couldn't believe the strength of the creature. They both were starting to doubt they could stop it. As each one of its heads growls in anger after their prolonged attacks against it, Nightwing shots a mini bomb inside each of their mouths, and when they exploded the creature staggers forward only to be caught by Donna's lasso around all three heads before swinging the creature overhead. The hard landing causes the whole island to shake.
Nightwing ask if everyone was alright, they had bruises but there were ready to continue to find Raven and to battle her father. The underground steps that the creatures had come from is where they descended into the bowels of the island. Once they were at the bottom the room was lit by lanterns, and there were symbols on the wall. They could tell right away that this ancient room had been used recently because there was no dust or spider webs to be seen. Cyborg turn on his infra-red eye to search the chamber, he discovers that there is a residual energy signal on the west end.
The Titans approach the west end being careful searching for any traps that might be there. Once they find the source of the energy, they could not believe their eyes it was an alter made to Raven. That means people here used to worship her, but they wonder how is that possible. Raven was their age, how could these ancient people even know about her. Donna told them to come to look at this on the opposite side of the wall some paintings look more like directions on how to open up a door. Beast Boy question a door to where?
Nightwing told them that the doorway must lead to Raven, but we have no idea what's on the other side once we go inside. Raven is more than our friend, she is our family. So we have to do this. Let's try to open up the door and do what we have to do.
Donna reads the painting as Cyborg decipher the language, with each word that is said the chamber begins to shake and the lanterns begin to dim. Donna reads faster and faster as the whole room shake so hard Nightwing things that it will tear itself apart, just as quickly as the shaking started, it stops. Then behind the alter a small circle in the air appears and begins to grow larger, before long the circle is floating in the air as the Titans stand before it.
"Titans this is where we go find Raven. If anyone doesn't want to go, please say so. Once we go on the other side, I'm sure Trigon will be waiting for us, and Raven will probably be under his control. In the dark dimension, he will be all-powerful and with Raven by his side, he will be tough to defeat. Is everyone ready?"
"I think I speak for us all when I say if her father will not release her, then we make him release her."
"Ok Starfire, Titans Together lets go into the darkness"
The six young heroes plunge into the gateway into the unknown of the dark dimension.
