Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of legendary Eyes. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.
Arata leaned on the wall and looked at the city from the cove as Sarada walked over next to him. he blinked and turned to look at her.
"You know those fabrications aren't going to surrender. They're not going to be easy to defeat, the last 2 weren't very weak for rookies." Arata sighed and shook his hooded head with sheer annoyance.
Boruto was gone. He was in no condition to help the group currently as his wounds were still healing, and time was of the essence.
On the plus side? The defeat of 2 of the fabrications meant the group was now weaker, which did give them some ability to be defeated easier.
"Do you insist on going against everyone on your own? You've fought against those warriors twice and both times they've nearly killed you in combat twice." He hummed at Sarada's words before shrugging.
Sarada stood next to him as the Otsutsuki looked to the city and sighed.
"Those creatures have some connection to me. they feel like something I've seen before or such. their also one of the only things we've met so far that can pose a threat… I've fought people strong like them before, I haven't fought something so unrelenting yet." Arata stated, knowing he was digging a bigger hole for himself.
"You sound a lot more concerned for my safety then you did back when I was recovering… I heard from the others that you refused to leave my side when I was wounded during the fight with Kuro." Sarada turned to the side, crimson pooling in her face.
Why was she so protective of Arata? She was always babysitting her team, between Mitsuki constantly trying to kill people and solve the mission directly, and Arata was now making things a lot harder considering he was constantly throwing himself into the fire.
And yet she worried the most about him… she didn't know what Mitsuki was up to, but she also knew Boruto would be fine. he had stood up to worse than someone trying to kill him or kidnapping.
"Yes, because you were vulnerable which put the entire group at risk." Arata raised an eyebrow, knowing there wasn't full truth in her words when it came down to it.
Arata was skilled, and he was creative. Sarada liked his company, he could be cautious… AT TIMES, but it was also because he seemed like he wanted to put effort into growing. Sarada didn't blame Boruto for giving up wanting to be the Hokage.
Not everyone wanted the responsibility, she was curious for Arata's intentions and such. Arata cleared his throat and looked to the side.
"I am sorry, I wanted to try and create an opening to try and defeat Kako. I didn't know who would win, I was putting it in your and Boruto's abilities. I knew you would be able to win if I opened up Kako to a finishing strike… the only way to do that? was to use a move that could cause a lot more damage than he could shrug off." Arata stated, Sarada blushed again and turned away.
"I… how did you know me and Boruto could defeat Kako if he was strong enough to keep up with you?" Sarada watched Arata's lips pull into a smirk.
A damned, annoying, very happy gesture that she wanted to wipe off his face.
Arata chuckled, he turned away from the city, already starting to work out a plan to try and take Boruto away from the others.
"Because A? I know enough about the Hokage to know his son is probably one of the best Genin around… second? you've floored me with one hit which would have taken me down even at full strength. I believed in you. I wouldn't have taken myself out of the fight if I didn't… now then, we need to get Boruto back, those fabrications are going to fortify the city considering they've lost 2 of their group… I have no idea what abilities the other 3 have which means we have to do recon." Arata watched Sarada slowly recover from her stupor.
"Then we need to get inside the city… you need to stay here. you need to rest and you're never going to be able to take down another of them alone. they will know your too powerful for one on one." Sarada stated, Arata sighed but said nothing.
He was well aware of the fact that he won his fight with the second warrior due to his lack of Jutsu and his overconfidence.
Then again? Arata was still saving usage of his Rinnegan for emergencies… and only he currently knew what he was capable of.
"Fine, but I'm not staying here… I can't stay here forever and they're going to know sooner or later where I am… you should head out at night, Inojin is the only healer currently? That means I need as much healing as possible… But next battle? I'm going in. the more of them that fall? The easier the fight gets." Arata put in before heading off with a smile.
