She took notes in her trusty, little journal.

Hanahaki, aka the flower disease. Flowers grow in the lungs of the person with unrequited love. Though rare, victims can be unaware that they are in love but still feel unworthy of the person's affections.

Chronic and fatal. Can be cured by reciprocated feelings of love or thru surgery.

Surgery: removes plants from the roots but will result in the person becoming incapable in loving their beloved again and may lose all memories of their beloved

Worst case: person becomes incapable to love romantically at all

Symptoms: tightness in chest, difficulty breathing, hacking cough → coughing up blood + pain in throat and chest

Can span from mere weeks to long years before death → depends on the person

Type of flowers depend on the patient's beloved → color of flower often have meanings regarding the inflicted and the person they love

Flower meanings can help a person realized who they are in love with if they haven't yet

Kagome blinked. Well, that's helpful.

AN: I'm taking some artistic liberties here. There are so many different versions of the disease of unrequited love, so here is mine. R&R
