It's eight in the morning if I putt the alarm out, carefully not to wake Yugi I get up, I want to take a shower to calm my nerves, and I need to be in the hospital at ten, there they will tell me if I get a full narcotic or they operate me when I'm awake.
Softly I whistle for the cats if I remember they are already moved out and arrived at their new home, it will take a couple of weeks before we see them again, like most of our stuf.
We only have the basic need in house, carton plates so we can eat, disposible forks knives spoons scissors, the bed and our couch, clothing and towels, and only our baby's which we brought along, all the other stuff are already moved to our new place.
My stomach is protesting, but I'm not aloud to eat, Yugi promist me he would eat if I'm on the operating table so I don't have to see him eat and start to drool.
I promist him to let him sleep as long as possible, because he was upset pretty bad yesterday, and when he is upset his autism always kicks in badly, also his dad made him cry allot last Saturday, he misses his mom, and somehow I hope she can find the confidence to face Yugi alone.
Under the shower I look at my new tattoo and think back.
Flash back:
The man who gave Yugi the tattoo, placed the first line to deep, poor Yugi cried in pain.
Seems Yugi was this guys first living canvas, I of course was beyond pissed, how in the world can you give a tattoo virgin to an intern and why did he not ask if we were okay him tattooing Yugi!
They fixed the problem to give Yugi the tattoo for free, but I was stil mad, they hurt my sweetie.
After Yugi calmed down, a professional tattoo girl took over, after a few minutes I heard them having fun, when Yugi was done he was surprised, the result was amazing.
Next was my turn, Yugi looked in awe.
The girl saw it and asked him, "You wanna try?"
"Me?" He looks at me and I give him a reassuring smile, my sweetie may do with my body what he wants, within limits ofcorce, so I nod.
"Uhm, okay but only if you guide me."
Yeah he coloured one small piece of my guitar, the girl stood behind him and guided him over the drawing, and I? I look with pride to my baby.
The autograph from Brian May was a little bit of a problem on my tattoo, it didn't show well on my dark guitar so she placed it under the tattoo.
Ofcorce we promised Brian we would send him pictures, so the intern made pictures of Yugi drawing me, and last night we did send them to him.
Flash back ends:
At nine I have packed my bag taken a shower and wake Yugi up. He dresses himself in silence, stil tired I guess. I let him drive, I drive longer then him, but he does drive better then me.
Once we arrived at the hospital the nerves are getting me hard, I'm getting real scared.
"Yugi?" I ask with a shiver in my voice.
"What's wrong Daddy?"
"What if it goes wrong?"
He looks at me, sighs and says, "My sweet dear love, they say it's a standard operation, the chance it goes wrong is 1%."
"But what if I'm one of the 1%?"
"Well, then we have to….."
"What? Yugi come on, I can't stand this!"
"Then we both have to adapt and we will manage love, I will support you like you did support me, now come here." he says and whipes the tears from my cheeks, next he gives me a hug. "You know I love you Atem."
"Thank you Yugi."
"Are you ready?"
"No, but for my wrist this is probably the best." Inside I tell who I am and get a surgery dress. "Do I keep my boxers on?" I ask Yugi with a bit of a grin.
"I don't mind seeing your lovley round naked ass but others, nope your mine!"
"Okay, leave it on."Jealous Yugi, hmm need to try that more often it turns me on, arg behave! Now is not the time!
"Atem? You okay?" Yugi asks me.
"Yeah sorry, had my mind in the gutter."
"Bet it was a deep one." He says with a grin. I only nod.
The nurse already had given me medication so I get drowsy. I'm ready and in the bed, Yugi sits next to me, his and mine stomach are both rumbling.
Finally the doctor comes in, "Good morning Atem, are you ready?"
"Let's do this I sigh."
"The doctor turns to Yugi." he should be back here in two hours.
"I can't go down with him?"
"No, we only allow that to parents who have their kids in surgery."
"Sweetie, it's going to be okay, I love you." I say and open my arms.
He gives me a hug and a last kiss. "I love you Atem please come back to me." he whispers.
"I will sweetie, you get something to eat, and I see you in a few hours."
Two nurses bringing me down, I feel now the effect of the drugs they have given me.
In the operating room I slide on the table.
"Mister Sennen, we have decided that you are going to sleep, with your ADHD diagnosis and with how active you where during our meeting, we think you can't stay still long enough for us to operate you safely."
"Okay, just get it done please." They putt a mask over my nose and mouth and I feel myself falling asleep.
Slowly I open my eyes, I groun and my stomach is protesting violently.
A nurse sees I'm awake and walks over, poor girl, I feel the vomit crawl up my trouth I'm not able to stop it and she is getting it over her.
She says it is not a problem at all, and before she goes clean herself up she gives me clean sheets, and calls a co-worker.
The other nurse gives me a ice popstical, and she asks me if I want a painkiller. I say yes and soon realise the pill she uses, must go in my butt!!!
"Try to relax mister Sennen, so I can bring the pill in."
"Yeah, uh, can I get a pill I need to swallow?"
"Sorry, these pills are getting faster in your bloodstream if we give them like this, and you don't have to worry about me, I'm not into you."
"Huh?" I aks confused.
"I'm happily married."
"Oh, sorry if I gave you that idea."
"It's okay, do you have a special someone?"
"Yeah, we are getting married next year, I proposed to him three weeks ago."
"Then I wish the two of you best off luck."
"Thank you." I say.
"There all done." she says and places my boxer on his place, and covers me up.
"Huh? I didn't noticed."
"The wonder of distractions, try to get some rest we bring you up in a hour."
I give her the stick from the ice and close my eyes.
If I open up my eyes again I see the beautiful amethyst coloured with blue sparkled eyes from Yugi, he looks relieved.
"Hey love sleep well?" he asks me softly.
"Can I go home?"
"No love not yet, are you ashamed you made the nurse cleaning herself?"
"Huh?"
"About an hour and a half ago a nurse came up, she told her co-workers that Sennen guy trowed up and she was at the wrong moment at the wrong place."
"Ugh now I feel horrible, I hoped it was a bad dream." I say.
"It's okay love, every nurse gets their spotlight moment, you gave it to her today."
That evening I'm getting released, I say again sorry towards the nurse but she waves it off, My stomach starts to rumble so Yugi decides we eat in the hospital restaurant before we go home.
He takes me to a seat and goes order our food, I feel still drowsy, a feeling I only enjoy if I am drunk.
He comes back with two bottles cola, the hamburgers he ordered should be ready soon. And soon it is, five minutes and the food is done. We both enjoy our burgers, but due to the fact I had surgery, only half of it I can finish. The cook provides us a bag were the burger finds its place.
"Yugi, please take me home." I say with a tired feeling.
At home Ria comes out and helps Yugi to support me inside. Glad I took on a sweatpants in the hospital because now they lay me in bed, without undressing me. We thank Ria for the help and she goes out.
Yugi gives me my now much needed painkillers, and crawls next to me.
Next day;
"Do it!"
"No you do it youself!"
"Yugi please just do it!"
"Nooo I don't want to!"
"Why not?"
"What if I do it wrong, and you bite me?"
"Jeez stop acting like my grandmother just do it! Ooowww, did you had to pull that needle in so hard?"
"That was your grandmother doing, serfs you right to insulting her!"
"Grrr I hate does thrombosis syringes."
"Live with it, the doctor decides when we can stop them, until then you'll get them! And if you don't like it the way I do it, then do it yourself!"
Yikes Yugi, what got your boxers in the bunch? I know I hate placing those shots myself, but why is he so…. I don't know, maybe I should have called mom to help us out?
A few days later;
Yugi is to the store, he is a couple of day a bit… grumpy, I think taking care of me is difficult for him, but he assured me he could do it, when he gets home I think I'll talk with him.
I need to pee and walk to the toilet, I tried this morning to get a nod in my sweatpants string myself, sadly I now can't get it loose, SHIT!
I walk back to the living, take my phone and call Yugi, but he doesn't pick up his phone probably driving?
Okay I putt my pride aside and try Ria, only problem, she is out with friends.
I hang up and walk around a bit, hopefully I'll hang on until he is home.
When I look out the window I see our car, yugi gets out, and I'm desperate, please Yugi hurry.
My blather is completely protesting now, I practically run cross legs over to the toilet and try again to loosen the nod, shit shit shit! Yugi puts the key in the keyhole and…
"No, no, no, no! Shit GODDAMNIT!" I shout, To prevent worse I go and sit on the toilet and hope it doesn't fall on the floor.
"Atem, you okay?"
"No I'm not, I just pissed my fucking pants!" I yell while I'm still peeing, "Why didn't you pick up your fucking phone!"
"Hey! Don't give me that, I'm just home and when you tried to call me, I was driving! You maybe love to gets tickets but I don't! And I'm trying the best I can to help you!" He retorts. Okay I deserved that, he indeed is trying his best, and I repay him like this.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to spat at you, I just feel frustrated I guess."
"It's okay, but why didn't you go sooner?" He shouts from the kitchen, and messing in the drawer.
"I had a problem with the nod."
"Next time if you have a problem with the nod, use a sissor, a shoe lace isn't that expensive." he says comming back with a sissor and cuts the core.
Okay now I feel like an baka, why didn't I think of that?
"Go shower Atem, I clean up the mess you made." he says.
Shit, a Baka and guilty. "Yugi you don't have to clean up my mess."
"Well, I did it once last year remember? And this times it does not stink, go shower!" I don't hear the undertone in his voice.
"Hey my poo smells like roses." I joke and try to lighten up a bit.
"Yeah like spoiled rotten roses!" he retorts back, not getting the joke.
"… I…." Shit, he got me, I turn and walk to the bathroom and slam the door.
I heat up the shower and strip myself, pulling my shower glove on and grumbling in myself while I go under. "Got the nerve, I stink, I show him, WHAAAA RA DAMNIT YUGI!"
"What?" He says with the most innocent face, but his eyes very hard.
"That's fucking cold!"
"Oh sorry I thought you wanted to cool off before you came sitting next to me!" his face still innocent but eyes still hard, a golden glow is shining in his eyes.
I look at him, and then realise.
"Crossed the line?" I ask.
"And how!" Anger radiates from him.
"Okay." I say and feel the fun devil raising inside me, secretly turning the warm water to cold. "Since you think I need to cool off, why don't you join me because you also look like you can cool of!" I shout and pull him unther the freezing shower.
"ATEM! THATS COLD!"
"Now we're even Yugi fucking Muto." I say with my devilish smirk.
"I swear there are comming two swearing yars one for you one for me, for every bad word we put in 1 euro, at the end of the year, the person with the most money in it takes the other out on a date." he says and his eyes are joyful again.
"Okay, I say, but for now, truce?"
"Truce, and turn the shower to warm will ya."
"Okay let's strip your wet clothes also sweetie."
"Yeah and the swearing yars are still coming. Because you do it way to much." He says.
"Ah shit."
"Yugi? I ask and put the TV down so we can talk."
"Hmm?" is his response.
"What's wrong sweetie? You are very grumpy lately."
"Well you are too."
"What do you mean?"
"Atem I try the best I can to help you, but it seems everything I do isn't good enough for you. This morning when I was doing my business on the toilet you didn't have the patience to wait with the nod, you where angry because I took my time. Yesterday with the dish you got mad because I didn't put the pan on his rightful place. And with the trombone shots you always give me the feeling I'm useless. If I knew this I asked your mom to come over and help me." He says while tearing up.
I'm prosessing what he just told me, and then realise, I was a ass to him, I treat him like shit, and this is truly the first time he needs to take care of a person, a person that is not a feline.
"Oh Yugi I'm so sorry, I didn't realise I was a jerk."
"It's difficult you know? Taking care of you, I miss the cats, and I'm scared for the flight, I never been on holiday and i-i-i just want it to be all over."
"Sweetie, it's going to be okay, I'm sorry I hurt you, I try and be more understanding towards you, I indeed made the mistake tinking you were independent enough to do it on your own, and last year I did realise that because of Joey and Serenity, now I didn't have someone who did protect you for me, but you need to learn to speak up sooner sweetie, otherwise I can't help you."
Its true, in the past Yugi never spoke up, and I made the mistake not talking to him if I notice he isn't himself.
"You know? Grandpa told me once, there where two are fighting, there are two to blame, the both of us made mistakes this week." he says.
"You are right sweetie, your grandfather was after what I heard a awesome man, although I doubt you aren't to blame with wat your dad did."
"You and me both, but with my dad we all have the question about that."
"Do you know his family?"
"No" He says and shakes his head, "After what I heard he broke with them when he and mam got married, and it's thanks to mama's family they kept seeing each other."
"I'm glad I got a chance meeting them, I say and kiss his head, they are a lovley family."
"Yeah I'm gonna miss them."
"Don't worry sweetie, I promise we will visit them every year."
"If I survive this flight that is something I holt you to." he laughs.
"Then you first need to survive me." I say and start a tickle assuld on his sides.
