Dinner with Jocelyn and Luke felt so completely different than it had felt with his own parents and even with the Lightwoods. His parents barely talked and the whole time it just felt tense and he was on edge, just one of the reasons that he avoided seeing them. And then with the Lightwoods, it was a lot warmer, and the love was obvious between them, but there was this very clear line where their children were careful about what they said to their parents; no swearing, no discussion of their love lives and no dirty jokes, no matter how much that pained Isabelle.

It didn't seem as though Clary hid anything from Luke and Jocelyn.

She talked exactly like she always did, she didn't stop herself from swearing, her tattoo's and piercings were all on full display and she sat close to Jace, just like she always did. There weren't any judging looks from either of them when Clary laughed at something Jace said and leaned into him, running her fingers over the back of his hand. There were definitely some questioning looks, but nothing more than that.

They had gone out to a little diner that was just across the street from the school, and when they had finished eating and were about to go their separate ways home, Jocelyn had caught Jace as Clary and Luke were talking by the counter, and she had told him that they had a lot of people who were applying for the job, which at first had made his stomach drop. But then she had laughed and said that she wasn't the best at organisation, so it may take her a while to get back to him, and that his interview had been good and Clary was a good judge of character, so his chances were promising.

He tried not to let that go to his head too much, but it definitely made him feel hopeful.

The rest of the week went by quickly, and on Friday night, they had a gig. Jace hadn't heard from Jocelyn, but he tried not to let himself get disheartened by it, because Jocelyn had said that it may take a while. She had also said that she wasn't very organised, and he had to think about how unorganized Clary was, and she had to have got that from somewhere, so he pushed it to the back of his head.

"You guys kicked ass," Simon announced as the band all came over to the booth where Magnus, Kaelie, Clary and himself were sitting. Raphael grinned widely and leaned in, and Jace's eyebrow arched as he saw Raphael and Simon press their lips together. Clary just laughed and then she stood up from where she was around the far side of the booth and kissed Jace's cheek mushily. Jace's full attention shifted to her and she wiggled her eyebrows at him with a grin.

"We've got something," she told him with a grin.

"Yeah?" Jace asked.

"It's good," Kaelie piped up with a grin, but there was something in her words that sounded just a little slurred and her grin was a bit sloppy. Jace raised an eyebrow at her and she laughed and then pulled a little clear bag out of her pocket. There were two blue pills left inside, one with a heart shape stamped on each side and the other with a triangle stamped on each side. "Want one?" She asked. Jace glanced over at Clary who was smirking back at him.

There was something in her eyes that suggested that things might go a bit further tonight.

She looked playful and relaxed and—more than once—he saw her eyes dip down to his lips and down to where his fingers were drumming away on the edge of the table.

It wasn't like he hadn't been enjoying the pace that they had been taking things in the past few weeks, but he would be lying if he said he didn't want things to step back into the physical realm that they had been in before.

"Is it X?" Jace asked as Kaelie opened up the little bag and motioned for him to hold out his hand.

"Yup," she grinned up at him and Jace flattened out his hand as Kaelie tipped it into his palm. It had been a while since he had taken ecstasy, although the two times he had popped a pill, he remembered having some amazing sex and then spending a whole evening and then the next day on the roof of his apartment building, staring up at the sky. He put the pill in the pocket of his jeans, planning on having a couple of drinks before throwing the pill back.

"We should go get some shots!" Isabelle cried out and there was a cheer from Magnus. Clary was leaning back in the booth now, fingers playing around the rim of the glass that was half empty in front of her, eyes on Jace.

"I think I'm good," Jace replied, holding up his beer and then tapping a finger to his lips. "This will be enough for me." Isabelle laughed and then pulled Simon out of the booth.

"Come with meeeee," she sung out, and—as expected—Simon slid out of the booth and faithfully followed behind Isabelle as she headed toward the bar. Clary had her head tipped against the back of the booth, her eyes flitting between the crowded dance floor and her friends around her before coming back to Jace. Kaelie was jittering in her seat and Jace was guessing that the effects of the pill were already starting to flow through her, and when she recognized someone coming in, her whole body jerked forward in the booth and she nearly knocked over Jace's mug of beer before he quickly swiped it away.

"Meliorn!" She cried out and Clary's eyes followed her friend as she got out from the booth and almost tripped over her own feet. Jace reached out to steady her and she gripped Magnus' shoulder as she stepped forward and was greeted by a man with dark hair just past his shoulder. Magnus and Alec looked at each other and laughed, and then Magnus leaned in close and said something in Alec's ear that had the singer blushing bright red, right to the tips of his ears. Raphael was distracted by something on his phone and Jace focussed his attention back on Clary.

"Have you taken one yet?" He asked her, lifting his voice to be heard over the music and the talking around him. Clary still obviously wasn't able to hear him, going by the confused expression on her face, and she scooted herself around the booth so that she was where Kaelie had been sitting before, directly beside where Jace was standing. She leaned in close—a lot closer than necessary. She was wearing a dark green lacy dress that dipped low over her cleavage and rode up high over her thighs. "I asked; have you taken one yet?" He repeated, his voice catching a little. Jace didn't mind at all when she reached up so that her cleavage was almost completely exposed to him and her lips moved against his ear.

"I was thinking that we could take them together...After a couple of drinks and dances," she said softly into his ear. Jace felt himself twitching in his jeans, and he was glad that the lights were all dim and the place was pretty smoky that no one would notice if he got completely hard, like his body was threatening to do.

"I'm down with that," Jace smirked at her, and Clary grinned back at him, a devilish glint in his eye. He was thinking that his guess from before was correct. Something seemed to have shifted in her and from the way she was looking at him, he was guessing that there was going to be some fun between the sheets once they left this place.

If he even made it that far.

He fucking adored Clary as a friend and he had loved the time that they had been spending together recently, actually getting to know one another rather than just screwing like they had been before.

But his entire body was aching for her, and there was every chance that he might just come like a bloody teenager if they dirty danced just for a little too long.

"Let's go," he encouraged her, holding out his hand. There were some teasing noises from Magnus, but both ignored him as they headed toward the overly cramped dance floor. They had played there before, and the club had a good mix of live bands mixed together with the DJ. The Downworlders had had the last live set, so now the DJ was just playing a bunch of remixed pop and rock songs, and even though it wasn't the type of music that he usually listened to, he was more than happy to dance to it with Clary.

She lead him into the throng, her fingers twining together with his, the cold metal of her rings pressing against his warm hands and her bracelets clinking together as she raised their hands above her head and spun herself around so that she was pressed to his body. Her breasts were soft against his chest and her hips aligned with his as she swiveled from side to side. Jace felt his cock just getting harder, and from the cheeky look in Clary's eyes as she let her hands fall from where she was holding them up to his neck, she knew exactly what she was doing.

Her body swayed in time to the pulsing music and her fingernails grazed over the back of his neck, twisting through his hair as she pushed herself upward and he let his head tip forward, closer to her. His hands were tight around her waist, holding her against him, and his eyes were glued to her face. He watched the way her eyelashes flickered against her cheeks and her lips mouthed the words to the song that was playing. Her eyes moved up, head moving backwards and then she was staring up at him.

Jace couldn't take the tension that was pulsing between them—the heat that they were exchanging and the friction between their bodies—and he made the first move, closing the distance between them and bringing their lips together.

She tasted sweet, like the drink she had had when they were back at the table, and a little like cigarette smoke, and his tongue swept through her mouth as though he had been starved of her all of his life. He felt her moan against his lips and her body tried to get even closer to his. She must have been on her tiptoes, but she was still gyrating against him. One of his hands went lower, finding the hem of her dress and tugging at it slightly. The skin on the back of her thighs was smooth and warm and he wanted to wrap his hand around one of them and hoist her up so that she was in his arms and his hands were on her ass. The only thing that stopped him was the fact that they were in a public place.

"I think that we should take the X and then get out of here," Clary rasped when they pulled apart and Jace blinked down at her hazy eyes.

"I second that," Jace attempted to smirk down at her, but he was too distracted by watching her mouth. Clary let out a giggle and then nodded, licking her lower lip. She reached up and gave him a quick kiss on the mouth before turning around. Jace looked over to the booth where there friends were, and he was about to gesture at Alec and let him know that they were heading toward the front door. But Alec was frowning and Magnus at his side looked furious, and even Simon had his hands balled up at his sides, looking as though he wanted to throw a punch. Jace was confused as they came off the dance floor, and then Clary completely came to a stop in front of him. "You alright?" He asked as he bumped into her, stepping forward so that he was beside her and could look at her face. It was ashen and her lips parted as she took in a shaky breath.

"Sebastian," she managed to choke out, looking at a blonde man in front of her, her fingers tightening around Jace's.

My favourite comfort movie at the moment is Penguin Highway, and I've been watching a lot of X-Files. Haha. On Youtube I've been watching quite a bit from Kendall Rae and Bailey Sarian, who do, like, true crime stories. I also really like watching Cruel World Happy Mind, she does deep dives into MLM's and online scams and stuff and I find that all really interesting. Dylan Is In Trouble is great for movie reviews and he has a sense of humor a lot like my husband, so I run it a lot in the background. Haha. He also has an old channel with music reviews which I really enjoy working through. Then there's is Kristina Maione, who does a variety of commentary videos, her most recent one is about Mia Khalifa, and like how she presents stuff. Then last ones are ItzKeisha and dangelowallace also have sort of commentary videos, both super interesting and researched and good points of view and ways of speaking.

So. Yeah. I have heaps more but I don't want to ramble. Please try and look after yourselves. Your heart, your brains, your souls. Everything is a bit scary and...Not good. I don't know what else to say...Much love xx
