"First day back since the pregnancy" Maura says then ask "Are you ready?" Jane takes a minute tucking in her dark red v neck shirt. "I'm more then ready." Jane answers. "But is it normal to feel so guilty about leaving him so soon?" Jane ask with a pout. "Honey its completely normal I dont want to leave him either but we have to work and plus this gives Angela the time to spend with her grandson" Maura says comfortingly. Jane takes a step forward and wraps Maura in her arms. "You always know the right things to say to comfort me." Jane says with a smile kissing her beautiful blonde wife. Maura smiles then speaks. "I try my best." She says leaving a trail of kisses up Jane's neck making the brunette shiver.
"Don't start something you can't finish." Jane says with the typical Rizzoli grin. "And who says I wont finish?" Maura ask kissing Jane passionately before leaving the room. "Hey!" Jane shouts from the bedroom. "That's so wrong!" She says hopping to put here other boot on before following Maura downstairs who's laughing at the incident that just happened.
"Hey Ma" Jane says giving her mother a kiss to the cheek then kissing there son on the forehead before grabbing a cup of coffee. "Hey sweetie" Angela replies. "I hope you dont mind I snagged Ethan up while you two were getting ready for work." "We dont mind." said Maura. "I'm glad you can spend some time with him." Maura says smiling. "I have him a bottle right here if you would like to feed him before you leave." Angela says passing the baby to Jane who speaks softly to him. "Are you hungry little man.?" She ask with a smile momma is going to feed you and then we have to go to work but dont worry we love you and we will miss you." Jane says giving him another kiss or two before passing him to Maura. "Hows my little boy this morning?" Maura asked with a huge smile.
At this moment Jane is standing against the island with her cup of coffee taking in the view that is of her wife and there son. She couldnt ask for a more perfect morning. She had done this every morning since Ethan came home. She would stand and watch the two of them before she would join in but this Morning is different...this morning she was leaving him and going back to work it made Jane sad but she loved the way her wife spoke so softly to their son, the way her gorgeous hazel eyes would light up the second she would see him.
She loved them both so much. Maura caught Jane watching. She caught the brunettes eyes full of love and compassion she didn't know how she became so lucky but she was glad she did. After feeding, burping and changing their son Maura handed him to Jane to spend a little time with him before they had to leave. "You know mommy and me love you so so much little man." Jane says smiling down at their son. She runs her finger lightly across his forehead down his nose then down his cheek. "Gosh I'm going to miss you so much today." Jane says softly. "We both will" Maura says standing next to her wife. "Okay you two hand over the baby so you can get going." Angela barks. "Ma!" Jane says with a pout. "If I dont push you two out the house you will be late for your first day back or you wont leave at all." Angela says smiling. "Ethan will be fine dont worry." "Now go!" "Both of you." Angle says giving Maura and then Jane a kiss on each a cheek. They both take a minute to kiss Ethan goodbye before heading out the door.
They arrive at the precinct. Jane opens the car door for Maura, places her hand on the small of her back as they walk into the building. Korsak was the first to welcome back the detective. "Good to see you back Jane!" Korsak says with a smile. "Its good to be back." Jane replys with a smirk. Jane gives Maura a quick kiss while Korsak holds the elevator for her. "Want to grab lunch later?" Jane ask her wife still holding her hand. "Of course!" Replies Maura with a smile. Jane gives Maura another kiss but not before Korsak speaks up.
"Alright love birds Jane let go of Dr. Isles we have work to do." Korsak says chuckling. Jane groans. "Yeah, yeah I'm coming." She says with a roll of her eyes that makes Maura laugh. "Go Jane, we will catch up for lunch." Maura says stepping into the elevator. Jane sighs. "Let's go detective." Korsak says letting go of the door. "Shit!" Jane says hurrying to get into the lift before the doors close. "That's just rude." Shr says grinning. "Well it got you into the elevator didnt it?" Korsak says with a smile pushing the button for there floor. "Yeah very funny Korsak!" Jane replys nudging the older man with her shoulder.
The beginning of the day dragged on by lunchtime Jane was more then ready to go to the morgue. Maura was sitting at her desk closing out some cases files. Jane stood in the doorway admiring her wife. "Man shes beautiful." "I'm the luckiest woman in the world." She thought smiling to herself before her thought was interrupted. "You are staring Detective." Maura says smiling looking at the beautiful, breathtaking brunette.
"Yeah, so?" "I have eyes for a reason." "Isnt that what you told me?" Jane says laughing. "Maybe not in those exact words." Maura says standing to greet her wife. "Are you ready for lunch?" Jane ask taking her wife into her arms. "I am...but could be stop somewhere else?" Maura ask looking into the brunettes big brown eyes. "Whatever you want babe." "What did you have in mind?" Jane ask quizzically. "Home." Says Maura. "You want to go have lunch at home with our son dont you?" Jane asked smiling. "Yes." "Is that okay.? Maura ask. "Maur, absolutely it is." "I would love nothing more then to spend my lunch with my gorgeous wife and our son." Jane says giving her wife a slight squeeze.
Halfway threw there lunch Jane's phone rings then Mauras. Rizzoli...Isles...Maura still answered her phone with Isles out of habit but Jane didnt mind any because everyone who knew them or of them knew that they were married. "We have a case Ma." "If we are going to be late I will call you." Jane says before kissing her son. "No worries." Says Angela. "I'll keep him as long as you two need." Jane sighs, "come on Maur." "We better get going."
They arrive on scene as usual. Maura still admired Jane's swagger and the way she commanded a crime scene. How no one dared to question the detective or get in her way. And Jane still admired the way Maura strutted onto the scene and all eyes turned to her but never did Mauras eyes stray from her favorite view...her wife. Everyone knew that these two, together or apart were a force to be reckoned with.
"What do we have here?" Jane asked Frankie while putting on the blue latex gloves. "Well the victims name is Clarissa Ward, 36." Frankie says handing Jane the evidence bag with the victims ID in it. "Her purse was next to her, cash and cards still inside." No keys?" Jane ask. "Nope." Says Frankie. "No car keys or house keys." "Maybe a carjacking gone bad?" Frankie ask. "Maybe" replys Jane. " But why would she be all the way out here on the docks?"
"Frankie I want you to run the victims name threw the DMV records and see if you can't find out what kind or car she was driving or if she had one at all." Jane says before asking the doc what she found. "So cause of death doc?" "Well" says Maura "I see a number of wounds to her stomach and chest." "Given the lack of blood I would say she was dumped here." Maura states matter of factly. "Also she has deep bruising on her face and ribcage that seem to have happened prior to her death." "Some of the bruising was already healing." "Given her liver temperature I would place time of death between 6 and 12 hours ago."
"So she was beaten over a period of days before her death?" "Yes." Maura says."But I cant be definite on cause of death until I have her back at the morgue." Maura says standing, removing her gloves. "Alright. "Let's head back to the precinct so we can both get started and try to find out what happen to this poor girl." Jane says lifting the tape for her wife to cross under.
They work the case all day. Jane is sitting at her desk going over everything they have so far. Maura had completed her examination of the victim and came down to hand the file to Jane. "She was drugged, beaten, and then stabbed repeatedly?" Jane asked with saddened eyes. "Yes." Maura states. Jane sighs. "This was personal." She mutters. Rubbing her eyes in exhaustion. "Honey you are exhausted." Maura says placing a hand a Jane's shoulder. "Let's go home eat dinner, spend some time with Ethan and get some rest." "I'm sure the guys can handle this for the night." Maura says looking to Frankie and Korsak.
"Yeah Janie we got this." "Go home spend time with your son and rest." Before Jane could argue Korsak spoke. "Jane go home with your wife to your son, Frankie and I have everything covered." Jane sighed. "Alright, thank you both, if you find anything." She was cut off by Frankie. "If we find anything you will know when you return in the morning now go!" He says swatting his sister with the file. "Alright mom!" Jane says back at Frankie laughing. "Come on Maur let's go home." Jane says grabbing her jacket with one hand and her wife's with the other.
