Chapter 25: Doing Some Thinking

Two months have passed, and everything was running smoothly in the Rock Lands. Everyone in the pride was happy, including Chaka's older half-brother, Damu. Chaka, on the other hand, has been doing some thinking. He was still debating whether or not to go back to the Pride Lands or not. He so badly wants to go back, but at the same time doesn't want to. Half of him is telling him to go back, and half of him is telling him not to go back because half of him says that he wouldn't be accepted back. On this evening, Chaka was sitting alone, staring at the Pride Lands at the Rock Land borders alone. Chaka let out a heavy sigh, knowing that it would be tough going back to Pride Rock. "You alright bro?" a voice asked from behind him. Chaka spun around to see his older half-brother, Damu standing there.

"Hey," Chaka replied with a sigh. "I'm not so sure honestly."

"What do you mean?" Damu asked, the concern clear in his voice.

"I mean," Chaka began. "I've been doing some thinking. Half of me is telling me to go back to the Pride Lands, and half of me is telling me not too, and I'm not so sure."

"Has this been bothering you?" Damu asked.

"It has," Chaka said with a sigh. "I'm not so sure if I enjoy being here anymore. I mean I'm being offered a lot here like food and other stuff, but I'm not so sure if I want to stay here anymore. I'm honestly thinking of going back now rather than later."

"If you want to go back now you can go back," Damu said. "I mean I can see you want to go back and reunite with Kopa again. You can always tell King Shujaa and Queen Jamila that you want to go back now."

"Yeah I know," Chaka said with a sigh. "I'm just not so sure anymore. I'm just so lost. I know Kopa is probably still thinking of me, I have been thinking about him too. I'm just... not so sure anymore."

"Chaka," Damu said, walking over to his younger half-brother, wrapping a foreleg around him. "What does your heart tell you?"

"Half of it is telling me to go back," Chaka explained. "And half of it doesn't want me to."

"But you have been thinking a lot lately about going back right?" Damu said.

"Yes," Chaka replied with a sigh.

"Then I think you should go back," Damu said. "Your mother and brother would be overjoyed to see you. At least by that, they can relax."

"Well," Chaka began, still thinking about it. "I'm still not so sure though."

"Oh Chaka," Damu said, a bit annoyed. "Are you still thinking about Simba accepting you?" Chaka's emerald green eyes went wide when he heard his brother say that last part.

"How the hell do you even know?" Chaka asked.

"Because I know you," Damu pointed out. "I can see it in your face. You're still thinking that Simba isn't going to accept you. I know for sure he will accept you back into the Pride Lands."

"I don't think he will though," Chaka said.

"Oh, Chaka stop being paranoid," Damu said firmly. "You worry too much. Simba is not the type of dude who will just deny others from entering his lands. And besides, you were born there too."

"But I'm Scar's son," Chaka said softly. "Simba's most despised enemy is Scar. And I don't think he would accept me because I am Scar's son."

"Stop thinking that way Chaka," Damu said sternly, the fatherly tone hitting him. "Yes, me and you are Scar's sons, but you are forgetting something Chaka. You are Nala's son too. Just like I am Dafina's son too." Damu was referring to his mother Dafina.

"The only problem I have though is who my father is," Chaka said softly. "The lionesses back at Pride Rock hate Scar. And they'd probably hate me too."

"Oh my goodness Chaka," Damu said with irritation, putting a paw on his face. "The lionesses there accepted me there before King Mufasa died. And I am pretty sure that they'd accept you too."

"Well," Chaka began. "Well ok if you're sure. But just not right now."

"Well Chaka if you want to go back it's better if you go back sooner," Damu suggested.

"I'll think about it," Chaka said.

"Alright bro," Damu said, removing his foreleg from where it was to wrap it around his younger half-brother. "But I think you should think now if you want to go back now, sooner, or later. Because I am not waiting any longer."

"I'm gonna think about it now," Chaka said. With that Damu gave Chaka a nuzzle and went to go back to the royal cave.

That night Chaka was still thinking whether or not when he should go back. Then he decided that he would go back sooner than later. "I'm gonna see if I can go back in two months," Chaka said to himself. "If not, then I will wait a bit longer. But for now, I think two months should do it." With that, Chaka got up and headed back to the royal cave

As Chaka got to the royal cave, he went over to his sleeping spot in the cave. His older half-brother, Damu was sleeping beside Dafina, Damu's mother. He then looked at the middle of the cave to see King Shujaa and Queen Jamila sleeping in the middle of the royal cave. He then laid down and put his head on his paws to get some much-needed sleep. "I just hope things go right," Chaka thought to himself. "I hope Kopa is doing ok in the Pride Lands. I hope my mom is doing ok. I hope everyone in the Pride Lands is doing okay under Simba's rule." Then suddenly, a voice unfamiliar in his head said, "Your brother, mother, and everyone living in the Pride Lands is doing just fine Chaka. Simba is doing an amazing job ruling the Pride Lands. He is the reason why everyone is doing okay in the Pride Lands." Chaka did not find this voice familiar at all. But he knew that everyone in the Pride Lands was doing okay, including his mother and brother. A few minutes later, Chaka decided to get some much-needed sleep.

A/N: Seems like Chaka is planning to go back to the Pride Lands. But he still isn't sure if he should go back because of course, Simba, and if will get accepted back into the Pride Lands. Even for Chaka being a year and eight months old, he's still quite scared going back because he's Scar's son.

Question for this chapter. Who was the unfamiliar voice in Chaka's head that said, "Your brother, mother, and everyone living in the Pride Lands is doing just fine Chaka. Simba is doing an amazing job ruling the Pride Lands. He is the reason why everyone is doing okay in the Pride Lands."?

Anyways, that's it for Chapter 25! See y'all later in Chapter 26!
