It was now Saturday and Gabriella and Troy were taking Isabella to the park. They had already given Bella her presents and the now three year old was ecstatic to be going to the park. When they arrived at the park, Troy scooped the little girl up and placed her on his shoulders. Gabriella smiled at the sight before speaking.

"Ok Baby Girl, what do you want to do first?"

"Swing!"

They took the toddler to the swing and took turns pushing her, listening to the little girl giggle and cheer. After spending five minutes on the swing, Troy scooped the girl up. "Where to now Angel?"

"Swide?"

After going down the slide a few times, Isabella asked for ice-cream. She grabbed Troy and Gabriella's hands and they walked to the ice-cream parlour. Gabriella lifted the girl up so she could see the flavours.

"What ice-cream would you like Bella?"

"Rainbow!" She cheered making everyone else in the parlour smile.

"Ok Baby Girl, do you want to choose Mommy's?"

Isabella had a thoughtful look on her face. "Cookies."

"Mommy's favourite."

Troy smiled at the interaction, before turning his attention to Isabella."

"Do you want to choose Daddy's too Angel?"

"Daddy Stwawberry."

Troy smiled and kissed her forehead before ordering and paying for their ice-cream.

Gabriella protested. "Troy you didn't have to pay for it, I could've paid for mine and Bella's."

He shook his head and wrapped an arm around Gabriella's shoulder, kissing her temple. "No way Baby, my shout."

Their moment was interrupted by a woman clearing her throat, both Troy and Gabriella turned to her. "Is that your daughter?" Gabriella bit her lip and nodded. The woman huffed, "that is disgraceful, how irresponsible of you to be sleeping around at that age. I will never understand how this generation can be so stupid."

Troy noticed that Gabriella bit her lip harder and Isabella's grip on her tightened as the lady's voice rose. He placed a kiss on both their foreheads. "Baby, how about you take Bella to find a table, I'll be there soon." She nodded silently and he turned back to the woman. "You have no right to come in here and criticise my girlfriend."

"You're both entirely too young to have a child, you should be ashamed."

"Do not make judgement on something you know nothing about. She may not have been planned on my girlfriend's account but she loves that little girl unconditionally and so do I."

"So you're saying that you planned to get that girl pregnant."

"I did not get her pregnant, though I wish my girlfriend didn't go through what she did to have her daughter and that the girl had a decent father. But regardless of being not being biologically mine, that little girl is my daughter. You should think twice before making a judgement on someone you don't know."

Troy got the ice-cream and walked over to his girlfriend and daughter. He placed them on the table and kneeled beside Gabriella, rubbing her thigh. "Are you ok Baby?"

She nodded, "I'm fine, it happens all the time, I just don't like when they scare Bella."

He didn't like that this was a regular occurrence. He lifted Gabriella up and sat in her chair, pulling her back into his lap. "Don't listen to them Brie, you are an amazing mother and you have nothing to be ashamed of. I don't like that this happens to you."

She leant her head on his shoulder. "It's fine Wildcat, I've learned to ignore it."

"That's beside the point, you shouldn't have to." He sighed, "I'm sorry that it ruined the day."

Gabriella shook her head. "The day isn't ruined."

He was about to respond but his phone rang. He looked apologetically at Gabriella before answering. "Hello."

"Hey Troy."

"Oh hey Dom, what's up man, I haven't heard from you in a while."

"Yeah it's been a while dude, I'm actually coming up to Albuquerque in two weeks with a mate of mine so I figured I'd come see you."

"Sounds good, where are you guys staying?"

"Hotel probably, it'd be a bit awkward staying with you and Lucille. Sorry about your dad by the way."

"Nah it's fine Dom, but that's probably a good idea. Mom and I have actually been staying with my girlfriend at the moment, we haven't been back to the house yet."

"Damn, well I hope everything's ok Troy. Anyway, I should get going, I'm meeting up with some mates but I'll see you in two weeks."

"See you then, later Dom." He hung up and noticed Gabriella looking at him curiously. "That was my cousin Dom, he and a friend are coming up from Minnesota in two weeks."

He felt Gabriella tense. "How old is your cousin?"

"He's 19." He felt Gabriella freeze and he made the connection. "It's ok Baby."

"But what - what if."

"Shh Baby, it's ok, Dom would not be friends with someone like him."

"Promise?"

"Baby, you know I can't promise you that, I haven't heard from Dom in a while but what I can promise you is that even if by some chance he does come, Bella is not going anywhere ok."

She nodded. "It feels like we can never catch a break, as soon as one problem passes, another one comes up."

"I know Brie, but as long as we're together we'll get through it all, you, me and Bella."

She nodded and they all began eating the rest of their ice-cream, trying to enjoy the day after the small bump in the road.
