Epilogue

Willie and Carolyn got married. They had a nice wedding, not quite as large as Liz and Julia, but nice. Adam and Patti offered to pour drinks for free, and the DJ

also said he would come again because he had a wonderful time at Liz and Julia and he has had more jobs since then. Everybody let the DJ know he was part of

the family and could come by any time he wanted to. Of course, Julia and Liz slid a few dollars their way. Liz and Julia had put all their presents aside for when

Carolyn and Willie got married, so they received nice presents and money, plus what Liz and Julia received 2 years ago. Barnabas and Julia offered them to stay at

the old house until their house was ready. Liz was getting the west wing ready for them but gave them the carriage house. However, they spent a lot of time with

Barnabas and Julia 'so it was as if they were living there temporarily. The babes loved Carolyn and Willie. They called Willie "wuddy" and Carolyn "car", and

Carolyn finally announced she was pregnant and happy as hell! As the others said, Carolyn did not have to buy anything starting out. Maggie gave Carolyn

Christina's crib because Christina was sleeping in her bed by now. Carolyn had all sorts of beginning baby clothes for her daughter which she named Julia. They

gave her a bassinet, high chair, playpen, and walker. Carolyn got pregnant right after Julia and she had a boy and name him Willie Jr. Both of their kids were so

cute and playful. Carolyn went back to school and received a doctoral degree in Paranormal Psychology. She became a consultant for psychological studies at the

University.

Horace and Mrs. Johnson got married as well as a couple of their friends, and they had a triple ring wedding at Collinwood. They didn't want a large crowd, just

their friends and all of the family. Horace, Julia, and Elliott cooked the food and had it buffet style. They closed off half of the ballroom. It was so cute. The DJ came

again and so did Adam and Patti. Mrs. Johnson was so happy and she was just beautiful She wore her hair out to one side! Liz gave Horace and Mrs. Johnson the

carriage house after Willie and Carolyn moved into the west wing. They were dirt rich, but they did not act like it. The carriage house was just fine for them. They

retired but were godparents to all the kids. They would come over to the old house if they felt like it, but they spent a lot of their time traveling with their friends.

They even paid for all of their friends to go on a cruise.

Quentin and Maria got married also and had two boys. They did not have a large wedding but they had a nice one and again, the DJ would play for free and Adam

and Patti offered to do the bar. Of course, they were compensated. Liz gave Quentin and Maria the east wing. Maria became an SES in the federal government as

a Leasing acquisition Officer GS15. Her parents now came over on Sunday to have dinner with the family. Her mother could cook too so it was all good! They were

so nice and comfortable with themselves. They were rich also, but like Horace and Ms. Johnson, they did not act like it and they were so proud of Maria who has

made her way. They were accepted and loved being around all the children.

Adam and Patti both graduated with their MBAs and were working at the shipping enterprise and the cannery. Adam was just about done with his CPA and Patti

was an executive officer for data management. They got married two years later and Elliott gave them his house until their house was built. They eventually had 2

girls. They didn't have to buy anything. All the girls gave Patti and Maria baby showers and all the stuff they had for them. They didn't have to buy any cribs,

bassinets, nothing. They were so grateful and appreciative. They decided not to bartend anymore, but they worked out a deal with all the bars in the city, that if

they needed to do a class for them, they would do for free because they were given blessings from Barnabas and the family, they did not need any money, so

they offered their skills.

Now and then they were asked to do a party and they did. They would bring the babies over to Barnabas and Julia to babysit. Maria and Quentin would bring the

babies over to the old house if Liz and Elliott were going out. Everyone helped everybody with the children and Collinwood was a big playground inside and out. It

was so nice. They put up a swing set, one of those big balloon tents with all the different ways the kids could play. They filled it with stuff for the kids to do and

play.

Roger found him a nice lady. He never married her but he stopped being stuck up and arrogant and realized he could just be himself and the woman was very

good for him and she was a lovely nice woman, had her own money and was accepted by all and she could cook. She joined the cooking posse with everybody

else. Her and Elliott took turns and Elliott was just a great husband and he loved Liz to the max. Liz was so happy. Elliott doted on Liz day and night. She wanted

for nothing. They were so cute as a couple. Both were elegant and stylish in their ways. Elliott continues to lose weight and he was looking great. He and Liz would

go walking and go to the local spa once a month. They would lift weights also and did some of the workouts on tv.

Burke and Vicki had a daughter by this time and Maggie had a boy. Burke was rich, and Joe became the director of the business he did and they moved into a

bigger home and were very well to do. Maggie went back to school and graduated with hospitality management with a minor in event planning degree. She

worked with some of the hotels there with their functions. Vicki had a good job with the state. She was the executive officer of administration for the Governor.

Josh and Naomi were coming into their personalities. Josh was playful and devilish. Naomi was playful but not quite as devilish as Josh. Still, they were good and

happy kids and Barnabas and Julia spoiled them but did not let them get away with being naughty. They didn't have time for over spoiling the kids and it was not

good for them either. They set the rules as soon as the kids started walking.

When they turned 4 Julia put the kids in Headstart. They went to head start in the morning and came home around 1p. They loved the head start and it was good

for them to be out among their other friends. By now they were also active in the church. Julia and Barnabas put them in the kids' Christmas play. They coached

the kids what to say for their part. They always made Josh and Naomi hold hands and watch out for one another. Josh was the senior and whenever Barnabas or

Julia asked them what they wanted to do, Josh would say, "I go ask Naomi Mommie." When the kids turned 5 they started kindergarten and they loved it! They

loved playing with the other kids. Barnabas and Julia and all the rest took them to Disneyland and other places for kids like Sesame Place, etc. Barnabas was so

proud of Julia and his kids. He loved them so much. He didn't mind doing anything for them and they were growing up also.

Christmas time was always special with Barnabas and Julia and the kids. They would go and buy gifts for one another and Mommie and daddie then would go buy

gifts for Mommie to give to daddie and vis versa. They also went over to Collinwood where everybody would bring the kids over for Christmas. It was so nice

having all the kids there playing and sharing their toys.

At age 5 Joshua was a cub/boy scout and took Karate lessons. Naomi became a brownie/girl scout and went to dancing and ballet school. Barnabas and Julia

were a den mother and Barnabas was den daddy. They always had things to do on the weekends with the cub scouts and brownies. They did sleepovers at the old

house with Barnabas sleeping outside with the boys. Naomi would have her friends over for sleepover and they did girl things with Julia. Julia would bring

Barnabas some coffee in the morning sleeping outside with the boys. He loved it. They participated in church activities such as picnics, bake sales, flea markets,

etc. They were very active in the community. Barnabas and Julia did not allow the kids to watch tv during the week. They had to come home and do their

homework. They had their chores they had to do and they learned early that they had to do them. They had to keep their rooms clean and clean up after

themselves or they were not allowed to participate in their activities. All the parents treated their kids that way because they were not privileged. They were very

good students in school also. All the kids went to public schools. All agreed they didn't want the kids to think they were better than everyone because they were

rich. It worked out well.

When they turned 15 and started high school, they were in everything. Josh played football, basketball and still did his karate, being a black belt by now, and a

senior boy scout, and Naomi ran track, gymnastics, played basketball and was a cheerleader. She also still went to dancing school. Barnabas and Julia were so

proud of her when they went to her recitals. They just cried tears of joy that their little girl was a dancer. She was tall and graceful and beautiful like Julia. Johsua

was tall and lanky but strong. Barnabas and Julia were also proud of Joshua, going to all his trials for his next belt. After he received his black belt he began to be

an assistant trainer when he had time. He was very handsome. Juli dressed their kids as well. Barnabas would take Josh out and they had a very good loving

relationship. Julia would take Naomi out for a girl's day. Naomi was such a sweet girl. Everybody at school loved Naomi and Joshua. Since the babies were born,

they took turns taking the kids out with them and to work with them. Barnabas and Julia were active with the schools and they volunteered to do the concessions

during the football games and basketball games and they volunteered to do what they could with their kids at school. They were active members of the PTA.

Every weekend and during the week Barnabas and Julia would layout who was taking who and where. Every weekend they had something to do. All Joshua and

Naomi's friends loved coming to the old house. It was the hangout for them because Barnabas and Julia were very nice to them, loved for them to come over, and

always had something for them to munch on and they were helpful to all the kids in whatever they needed. Barnabas had a basketball hoop set up and repaved

the area where they could play basketball. They made a room off the drawing-room of the old house where the kids entertained, played music, etc. Barnabas and

Julia always welcomed them all and they knew they could go to their room knowing Naomi and Joshua would handle things.

Barnabas and Julia were so proud of their kids. They would just sit in awe of their kids and how good they were turning out to be. They never got in gangs, never

did drugs, etc. Every weekend something was going on. They were in so many activities they didn't have time for all that. Barnabas would just tear up sometimes

looking at his kids and Julia would just hug and kiss him and make him feel like the best dad ever.

Naomi and Joshua graduated from high school at the top of their class. They were both Valedictorians and gave the speech at their graduation. Barnabas and Julia

were so proud of them. Joshua got accepted at Harvard and Naomi got accepted at John Hopkins Medical School. Barnabas and Julia took both of them to school,

got them settled in. Back home, it was very quiet for Barnabas and Julia and they missed their kids, but they talked every week and during their breaks, they

came home to be with their Mommie and daddie.

By now, Barnabas was filling out now and pudgy and his hair was turning gray. Julia was still her small self, but her hair was turning lighter. But they loved each

other to death. One night they were chilling in the bedroom, watching TV and listening to the radio. By now they had cable TV. Barnabas said, "Julia do you believe

our kids are in college now?" Julia hugged and kissed Barnabas. "The time flew by didn't it? I am so proud of them and can't wait for them to come home for

Christmas. Now that they are out of the house Barnabas, do you want to take a trip to NY or go to Germany or somewhere?" Barnabas said, "Sure. How is Elliott

doing? I know Liz said since he retired from teaching he had not been feeling too well. His prostate was not acting right. Why don't we go by there tomorrow and

see how they are doing?" Julia said, Okay. I will call Liz tomorrow and see how they are doing. It is almost our 20th anniversary Barnabas. We must do

something. Even if we just go out dancing would be nice."

By now Willie and Carolyn's kids were teens. They hated Josh and Naomi went to school and they missed them. They were good kids too. Willie Jr. acted like his

dad and Julia was like her mother. They both were in school activities and sports. Barnabas and Julia attended their school functions as well and helped them since

Joshua and Naomi were in college. They loved Barnabas and Julia because they took time with them, took them places. They spent a lot of time at the old house s

well.

Barnabas and Julia went over to see Liz and Elliott. Liz's hair was gray now and Elliott was grayer. They were moving a little slower but still ready to go dancing.

Elliott was having some beginning prostate problems but he was in good spirits and they made a date on their anniversary to go to New York for the weekend.

They went over to Collinwood now and then and if they wanted to cook they could. Elliott keeps the house clean and he cooks. They loved all the kids but doted on

Carolyn and Willies kids, always doing things for them.

Maggie and Joe's kids graduated and Christina went to Brown University and her son Joe Jr. went to Princeton. Vicki and Burke's kids went to Yale and Temple

University.

All the kids would come home for Christmas and get together at Collinwood. It was so nice to see all the kids grown, doing well in college. It was always a fun time

for families. Barnabas and Julia loved their kids being home on Christmas and always cooked their favorite foods. They attended church on Christmas and New

Year but just enjoyed being home with their family.

4 years later Johsua graduated from Harvard as a corporate attorney and Naomi graduated from John Hopkins and did her residency at Temple School of

Medicine. Joshua took over the cannery when Barnabas retired but he was also a partner with one of the law firms in Collinsport. Barnabas was so proud of his

son, and often had nice talks with him. Joshua brought his girlfriend home one day and she was a sweetheart. She was also a lawyer and they met at Harvard. He

ended up marrying her and had two sons. Naomi finished her residency and became the administrator after Julia retired. She met a nice doctor and had twins, 2

girls. Barnabas and Julia were the best granddad and grandmom. They doted on their grandkids and took them places and loved them. It was so much fun having

their grandkids close by because Joshua and Naomi decided they wanted to live in Collinsport with their families.

Barnabas was beginning to slow down and he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. It got so that he had to stop teaching Sunday school, and he could not

walk far. Everyone was over to the old house one evening, and Barnabas had got so weak he had to stay in bed. When he tried to get up he fell and hit his head.

Julia called the ambulance and everybody went to the hospital. The doctor came out and said that Barnabas was very weak and would not last beyond another 3

days. Barnabas requested to die at home, so the ambulance took him back home. Everyone came over to say goodbye to Barnabas including their minister and a

few people from church. Julia would lie in bed with Barnabas his last few days and he and Julia would hold each other and cry. Barnabas would tell Julia to please

don't cry. She had made him the happiest man alive. She bore him two beautiful kids. He never thought his life would go this way. Right before he made his

transition, Julia and the family were there.

Joshua and Naomi hugged their daddy and their kids kissed their granddaddy. Everyone hugged Barnabas. Julia said crying, "Barnabas I love you. I will see you

again. You are the love of my life. I love you." Barnabas closed his eyes and transitioned over to God.

The funeral of Barnabas Collins was huge Then they had a private ceremony for him to be entombed in the crypt with the rest of the family. Barnabas was 85.

Julia was heartbroken and she cried every day after Barnabas died. She became a recluse sort of and Joshua, Naomi, and her now grown grands checked on her

daily. She lost interest in almost everything but she was there as a grandmother for her grands as much as she could be but they understood. One year after

Barnabas died, Julia passed away in her sleep from natural causes. Everybody determined that Julia died of a broken heart and could not stand being without her

Barnabas.

She was now in heaven with her Barnabas. Her funeral was just as huge and she was entombed in the family crypt next to Barnabas. They were both in the secret

room and the room was engraved, Barnabas & Julia Collins.

As a token of appreciation for everything Julia did at Wyncliffe and the expansion she spearheaded was re-named the Julia Hoffman Collins Psychiatric Wing of

Collinsport Hospital. There was a plaque named in her honor and it hangs at the entrance of the wing. All of the kids and family friends grew up to be productive

individuals and they were involved in community projects that helped people. They always thought of how sweet Barnabas and Julia were, how they helped

people, and included others in whatever they did. THE END.
