When Lexie was discharged from the hospital the following morning, she was exhausted. Despite what she had said, Mark hadn't left her side the entire night. In fact, he was the one who was currently driving her back to Meredith's house. His refusal to listen to her pleas to be left alone had resulted in her inability to sleep for the rest of the night.

Well, okay, that wasn't entirely true. It was actually the pain from the broken rib that had kept her awake, since she had refused any sort of pain medication that could potentially be harmful to her son.

Upon their arrival back at Meredith's house, Lexie was relieved to see Alex heading towards them. "Thanks for dropping Lexie off, Meredith and Derek had to go in early this morning." Alex said to Mark as he opened the passenger side door to help her out of the car. "Don't worry Sloan. She'll be fine here. I have the day off and can watch her."

If looks could kill, Alex would be lying dead on Meredith's driveway. "So do I Karev, and I have absolutely no intention of leaving her alone. Especially with you."

"Woah man, I'm just trying to help Lexie here. Do you not see the look on her face right now? She doesn't want you here." With that, Alex gently helped Lexie into the house.

Placing Lexie gently into the couch in front of the tv, Alex was unsurprised that Mark had followed them. "Dude, leave her alone. I'm going to go make her some breakfast."

As Alex walked into the kitchen, Lexie could feel the rage Mark was exuding. "Mark, please leave. Alex will take good care of me. I will be fine. Just go, please."

"You're sleeping with him again. That's why you can't be with me, because you're sleeping with Karev again." Mark accused.

"What the hell Mark! Of course I'm not! Why would you even think that? Because he's being nice to me? Because he's willing to help me when I need it? News flash Mark, I've had to rely on others to help me when I need it these past few months because you haven't been there for me! Alex is a good person! That's why he's helping me, not because I'm sleeping with him! The only person I've slept with since I found out I was pregnant is you! And maybe that was a mistake, no, it definitely was, because you seem to think that I somehow belong to you! We are over Mark, so even if I WAS sleeping with someone else, it isn't any of your business because we are OVER. I may be having your baby, but you and I are not together anymore. We never will be, regardless of how much I may still love you, because you will never change! Now get out before I have someone throw you out!"

Mark stormed out the front door, slamming it behind him. He was still seething with rage as he got back into his car and drove back to his apartment.

When Alex brought her breakfast, Lexie was crying. She was so angry about the way that Mark was treating her. The night before he had begged her to let him make up for all the mistakes he had made, and this morning he was accusing her of sleeping with her ex.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked, setting the plate of eggless pancakes down in front of Lexie. "I heard what happened. I didn't want to get involved, but, if I'm being honest with you, I did want to throw him out for you."

Lexie smiled through the tears. Wiping her face, she picked up the fork and began eating her breakfast. "I'm so sick of him. One minute he's telling me that he'll do anything to make up for everything he's done, and the next he's accusing me of sleeping with you. I just want him to stop hurting me like this. I've spent most of my pregnancy crying because my son's father is a jackass. Why can't he just realize that everything is screwed up because of him. He's the one who couldn't keep it in his pants and ended up getting Callie pregnant. He's the one who lied about things. He's the one who told me he loved me and then hurt me over and over. And he just expects me to forgive all of that and come back to him. I'm so sick of it."

Alex placed a hand on her shoulder. "Lexie Grey, you deserve better. Better than what I could give you, and certainly better than what Sloan has given you. And I hope you find that, because you should get to be happy. You should get to have someone who loves you in the way you deserve."

"Thanks Alex. I really needed to hear that." Lexie replied, smiling a little. "And by the way, these pancakes are incredible."
