June 30
The past few days have been so busy and exciting that I haven't been able to find much time to write. But Inuyasha and I are on our honeymoon now and he's in bed fast asleep so I figured this would be a good time to catch up.
Where do I even begin? The last few days have been so perfect; it's been more incredible than I ever could have imagined.
I'll start in the morning on the day of our wedding. When we woke up, Inuyasha and I were full to bursting with excitement. The day we had been anticipating for weeks had finally arrived. We lay in bed for a while talking about it; the ceremony, the honeymoon, and Inuyasha tried to get me to tell him what I was going to say in my vows to which I plucked his ear and told him that's a surprise.
Shortly after breakfast, there was a knock on our door and I was surprised to see Sango there.
"Good morning!" she said cheerfully.
"Hey Sango, what are you doing here so early?" Inuyasha asked.
"I'm taking Kagome with me," she said as she grabbed my hand.
In typical Inuyasha fashion, he became defensive and grabbed me back. I should really be used to being pulled back and forth by now. "Why's that? She's my wife, you can't just take her."
"That's the point," Sango said, taking me back. "She has to start getting ready. Go grab your wedding clothes, Kagome."
I did as she said and came back to the main room.
"Good, now say goodbye. You're not going to see each other until the wedding starts."
Inuyasha and I looked at each other longingly. We wanted to cuddle with each other up until the moment the wedding started but I understood that's not how things were done. Instead, we gave each other a passionate kiss and prepared to separate.
"I love you, baby," he said.
"I love you too, honey."
"Alright, time to go," Sango said.
She took me straight to the shrine to one of the back rooms that we would be using as a dressing room and Rin joined us shortly after.
"So how do you feel? Are you excited?" Rin asked.
"I can't even put into words how I'm feeling right now," I replied. "I'm so happy….I'm also extremely nervous."
It was true. While I was so excited, I still felt a lot of anxiety. I just wanted everything to go smoothly.
"It'll be fine," Sango said as she laid out her makeup and hair supplies. "Once you're up there reciting your vows to him, you're not going to be thinking of anything else."
"What if I forget my vows?"
"That would be bad," Rin commented.
Sango just smiled. "That's not going to happen."
"What if a demon comes in and kills everyone?"
At that, Rin laughed.
"That's also not going to happen. We'll do your makeup first so it doesn't get all over the white dress." Sango lifted my chin and I could tell she was laying out in her mind exactly what she wanted me to do. I just sat back and let her work.
Soon she finished with the makeup and she and Rin helped me get into the beautiful white kimono. After everything was tied and adjusted, I looked in a mirror and gasped. "Wow, Momo really outside herself."
"Didn't I tell you she's the best?" Sango said. "Sit back down and let me do your hair."
After she finished with my hair I looked back at the mirror and nearly gasped. I hardly recognized myself. My hair was tied up on my head with flowers that matched the red and orange flowers embroidered into the hem of my wedding dress. The makeup Sango did was beautiful as well; it was subtle and natural. Just enough to enhance my features. I couldn't wait for Inuyasha to see me like this.
"Sounds like people are coming in," Rin said.
Sure enough, I could hear people bustling about outside the door.
"I'll go see if they're ready," Sango said. "You should probably take your seat Rin. Kagome, I'll come get you in a few minutes."
Those minutes that I waited by myself were agonizing. I was more than ready for everything to start and I was dying to see Inuyasha.
Finally, Sango came back into the room. "They're ready to start."
This was it. This was really the moment I'd been waiting for.
Sango put her hands on my shoulders and looked me up and down. "He's going to love seeing you like this. Are you still nervous?"
"A little but I'll be fine."
"I just talked with Inuyasha, he is too. He's very ready for you though."
It made me very happy to know that he felt the same way. We left the room and Sango went to take her seat. Then the music started and it was time for me to enter the room.
It was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! The decorations we made looked incredible and the shrine seemed to sparkle with them. All of our guests stood and watched as I started to walk down the aisle. However, they were the last thing I was focused on; my gaze was fixated on the man at the front of the room waiting for me.
Inuyasha was incredibly handsome! The black and gray kimono looked so good on him. As soon as we locked eyes, I couldn't look away from him. A smile formed on his face and I returned it. The whole time I just kept thinking of how this was really happening and I was really walking towards my forever.
I finally reached him and he held my hands still looking at me with so much adoration and love.
"You look beautiful," he said.
"So do you," I replied.
Miroku began the ceremony with the opening statements and rituals. When it came time to recite our vows, Inuyasha went first and...wow. His words were so sweet and so sincere. I knew Inuyasha loved me, but hearing him say pour his heart out to me in this way, I felt it deep within my soul. What's more, is that halfway through he began to get choked up. I knew that I was going to cry, but I didn't expect him to. As he finished, I brushed the tears from his eyes and then it was my turn.
I was already crying as well. I managed to find my voice and recite my vows to him making sure that he knew just as well as I did how much I loved him and how I would love him for all of eternity.
My heart pounded when we said "I do." It nearly burst out of my chest when Miroku said "I now pronounce you husband and wife." When he said "You may kiss the bride" I nearly jumped into my husband's arms. The kiss that followed was the most wonderful kiss ever as it marked our first moment of forever.
The reception is kind of a blur to me, to be honest. I know we were congratulated by everyone and given well wishes for our future. We danced and ate and talked with our friends. I was just so fixated on my now-husband that everything kind of seemed like a dream. It still seems like a dream.
The reception went by pretty quickly and then it was time for us to leave for two weeks of alone time. I was more than ready for it at that point.
We stopped by our house to grab the bags that we had packed last night and Inuyasha took off with me on his back. I know he said this was supposed to be a surprise but I pressed him for answers and he finally told me we were going to an island.
Once we got to the dock, he got into a boat and Inuyasha rowed us there. It wasn't a very long ride and the sun setting on the water was very pretty. While I was sitting in the boat I kept replaying every blissful moment that happened today and each time I looked at Inuyasha my heart filled with so much love and happiness.
The island is so beautiful! The beach is pretty big and the water just sparkles under the sunlight. It's very woodsy once the beach ends, I don't think anyone really lives here. We're staying in a small but nice hut at the edge of the beach. There's also a hot spring not far away.
After we got off the boat a few days ago, we went straight into our hut. Once inside I was surprised to find that the bed was covered in rose petals and there were candles surrounding it. Inuyasha said he came by a few days ago to set everything up. I just can't get over how incredibly sweet and thoughtful he is…
He went to light the candles and I took the pins and flowers out of my hair.
"You're so lovely, Kagome," he said as he came over and wrapped his arms around me. He placed his forehead on mine. "So perfect."
"You're perfect," I whispered as she placed my hands on his shoulders. His gold eyes gazed into mine as if he were looking into my soul. In his eyes, I could see years of pain but also immeasurable joy and it warmed my heart that I had given that to him. He may not have thought he was perfect but he was nothing less to me. "My perfect husband." Finally, I closed the gap between us in a soft kiss.
"My perfect wife," he said against my lips.
Things progressed quickly from there. Soon all of our clothes were off and we were in bed making out heavily. We had made love so many times already but this felt different. Now we were giving ourselves to each other as husband and wife. The sex we had was so passionate, so raw, and so desperate. Even when we reached our climax we weren't finished. We went on for three rounds that night until we just collapsed from exhaustion.
I felt so connected to him and I was nearly brought to tears several times at the idea that this perfect man loves me so much. I felt like Inuyasha touched my soul that night.
We've been here for four days already and what an amazing four days it's been. Honestly, we really haven't seen much of the island yet. Most of our time has been spent in bed. We've hardly even gotten fully dressed since our wedding night. When we're not making love we're either eating or cuddling in each other's arms and just talking about our new life together.
We did go to the hot spring a couple of times though and when I tell you the hot spring was hot it was hot. Our time here really has been pure bliss. I almost never want to leave.
It looks like my husband is starting to wake up (it's still so new and exciting to be able to call him my husband!). I'll try to write as often as possible while we're here but I imagine I'll be pretty distracted most of the time...
**In my recent story "You And I" I wrote A LOT more about their wedding and wedding night. All about their vows, their dance at their reception, talking with Koga and Sesshomaru at the wedding, etc. Check it out if you want!
