OBANAI

Obanai darted through the garden as he followed the dark demon. The sound of rustling came from multiple directions.

Shit, this demon is tricky.

He scanned the area and saw the demon dart past him into a cluster of trees.

Shit!

"First Form: Winding Serpent Slash!" Obanai released a circular slash in front of him, cutting down the trees around him. His blade sliced through the demon with ease.

{Slash.}

"Gotcha!"

Suddenly, the demon changed into a gaseous substance and dissipated.

...What? It was an illusion?

Breathing heavily, Obanai tried to comprehend what just happened.

Then it hit him.

He felt a heavy sensation in his stomach. His muscles became ridged and his posture stiffened upon the realization.

Mitsuri.

The Serpent Pillar sprinted back towards where Mitsuri was and came to a halt.

There, he found Mitsuri's sword laying on the ground and she was nowhere to be found.

Mitsuri would never leave her sword unattended! Something happened to her. This is all my fault! Shit, shit, shit!

Obanai felt his heart twist and turn in his chest as an unspeakable rage and distress swelled within him.

I can't lose her. I can't!

TANJIROU

Tanjirou and the rest of the slayers sat in the kitchen of the Butterfly Mansion, eating a delicious soup that Shinobu made.

"This is so good, Shinobu!" Gyomei exclaimed.

"Yeah, it's amazing!" Zenitsu said.

Inosuke and the others gobbled ravenously in agreement.

Grinning, Shinobu said, "Glad you like it! I do wish the others were here to join us."

"I'll go get them," Tanjirou volunteered.

First, he went to the training area.

Hm... where is she? I smell her but—

Tanjirou paused when he caught the faint smell of a demon. He saw a book on the ground and saw that its pages were slightly torn.

This is Kanao's book and it looks like there was some struggle!

Then he noticed that leaves were scattered on the ground, indicating that something was in the tree. Tanjirou looked up, but saw nothing.

This is really weird...

Tanjirou decided to look in the garden. As he ran through the garden, he tracked the scents of Obanai, Kanao, and Mitsuri.

The scent of Obanai and Mitsuri is strong; they were definitely here!

The red-haired slayer ran deeper into the garden until he found Obanai standing with a horrified expression. His eyes were widened in disbelief and terror.

"Obanai, what happened?" Tanjirou asked, approaching him slowly. Then he saw Mitsuri's sword on the ground.

Obanai's mouth looked to be moving behind his bandages, but no sound came out. Kaburamaru shivered and recoiled.

Suddenly, Obanai ripped off his bandages and let out a piercing cry.

"Mitsuri is missing! I found her sword in the garden and she's never without it!" he yelled. "She was abducted, Tanjirou!" He withdrew his sword and moved to run, but Tanjirou stopped him.

"Obanai, wait! Kanao is missing as well. We have to find them together!" Tanjirou held Obanai's shoulders and tried to console the distraught slayer.

Eventually, Obanai settled down. "You're right, I'm sorry. I—I just can't lose her. I've just got involved with her and I can't take any more pain—"

"Get a hold of yourself, Obanai. We will find them. I haven't looked in the barracks, so come with me."

The two slayers dashed to the barracks. When they arrived, they gasped at the sight.

One of the cabins was practically destroyed; its roof was completely demolished. Tanjirou smelled the strong scent of a familiar, evil demon.

Enmu! I don't understand how his presence is out here in the day, but there's no doubt its him!

"Shit, Yushiro was inside of there!" Obanai shouted as he ran to the cabin. He peered inside but didn't see the friendly demon. "Tanjirou, he's gone as well!"

MUJŌNA

Muzan and Mujōna were discussing plans for the baby until a servant interrupted them.

"Your Majesties, the Lower Moons have arrived with the two slayers and traitorous demon in custody," the servant said.

Mujōna gasped in delight. "Oh, how wonderful! Incarcerate them inside the dungeon, but make sure all of their needs are met."

The servant bowed and left to fulfill his Queen's orders.

Muzan scoffed, a vein throbbing on his forehead. "Make sure all of their needs are met," he mocked. "You're too lenient, Mujōna. I'd disembowel them and keep them alive for—"

"We aren't going to harm them, Muzan. If we do, then this plan won't succeed. I know you want your bloodshed, but not right now, My Love. You'll have your fill once we claim what's rightfully ours."

Mujona entwined her fingers in his and kissed him deeply. "Well, it's my time to shine," she sang.

"I still don't agree with your strategy," he sighed. "Let's have Mukago make an illusion of you instead. I don't feel safe letting you do this."

"No, My Love. This needs to be as real as possible! No harm will come to me; I promise."

"Fine, but I'm sending Kokushibou to accompany you."

"I'll have Nodoka by my side, Muz—"

"I said that I'm sending Kokushibou to accompany you!" he hissed.

Not wanting to quarrel with her mate any longer, Mujōna conceded.

TANJIROU

Tanjirou continued deeply inhaling the air, then picked up on a faint, distinct scent.

A dark, evil familiar scent.

Muzan.

"Tanjirou, are you okay?" Obanai asked.

The red-haired slayer didn't answer as a pure molten rage swelled within him. His eyes dilated and anger rose in his throat as he tracked the scent's direction. Without a second thought, he dashed past Obanai and followed it.

"Tanjirou, what happened? Come back!" Obanai shouted from the distance.

Tanjirou ignored his pleads and continued tracking the scent.

He's getting further away!

At a lightening speed, he kept running until he was much deeper in the forest.

As he neared the ominous aura, he withdrew his sword. Tanjirou's fury alone made the Nichirin Blade turn a blazing red.

Then he saw two figures in the shadows; their presence emitting nothing but evil, demonic auras.

The red-haired slayer raised his sword and charged at them. "You're dead, Muzan!"

Suddenly, a gentle, soft fragrance wafted through the air.

...What?

Before he could strike, two women stood before him.

One of the women looked to be a noblewoman; she was dressed in a regal kimono and covering half of her face with a fan. The other woman was attractive and wore schoolgirl attire.

...That's not Muzan, but I swear sensed his presence. I can still smell him!

"Tanjirou Kamado," the noblewoman abruptly said.

Tanjirou froze at the sound of his own name. "How do you know my name?" he said, tightening his grip on the hilt of his sword.

Something's off about these two!

The ominous aura of Muzan Kibutsuji heavily permeated the air, but there was only two women in front of him.

Why is Muzan's scent so strong? Could it be that they're emitting it? But that would mean that these two are demons and it's in the middle of the day!

Not understanding what was happening, Tanjirou backed away in fear.

The noblewoman let out a melodious laugh, sounding as if she was singing a song. Then she moved her fan and revealed her face fully.

The woman's beauty made Tanjirou let out an astonished gasp as her intoxicating fragrance filled his nostrils; a mixture of vanilla and all things good, but perverted by the scent of pure evil.

"I am Mujōna Kibutsuji and I have a proposal for you," she said.

...Muzan has a wife?

Enthralled, Tanjirou gazed at the noblewoman as if he was in a trance. The more he looked at her, the more she looked eerily familiar.

Who is she? I feel like I've seen her before...

Then he remembered the time three demons threatened them at the Demon Slayer Corps. Headquarters. Tanjirou recalled that she looked a lot like the unknown demon Kagaya was speaking to.

She's a demon but how is she walking under the sun? This must be a dream!

"...You're a demon," he abruptly said, breaking out of her spell.

Mujōna laughed, baring her fangs. "Oh, what makes you think that?" she sneered.

Grinning mischievously, she sauntered closer to him. "Demons can't walk in the sun, Tanjirou Kamado."

I can't believe this!

Tanjirou clenched his blade even tighter, anger rolling through him like waves. He didn't understand how she was able to be in the sun, but knew that she had to be slain. An unholy aura that mimicked that of Muzan Kibutsuji emanated from her.

"I don't know how the hell you're out here, but you're going to die today!" he roared, raising his Nichrin Blade.

"Tanjirou, you're not going to hurt me."

"And what makes you think that?" He stood in the stance of his Seventh Form.

Smiling, Mujōna moved a few layers of her jūnihitoe and revealed the form of her bulging stomach. She caressed it as she softly sang a lullaby.

Horrified, Tanjirou backed away from her.

I—Is she pregnant? No, that can't be. This must be a sick trick!

"...There's no way in Hell that you're pregnant!" he shouted.

"Oh, but I am, Tanjirou. Why do you think that you sensed Muzan? It's because I'm carrying his child, silly!"

S-she's telling the truth... Muzan is inside of her, that's why his presence is so strong. But I don't understand how she's pregnant, let alone how she's walking in the sun! What the hell is going on?

"I believe it's against Demon Slayer code to harm a pregnant woman. That means that even if I'm a monster, the child inside of me isn't. This child is innocent, Tanjirou Kamado," she cooed.

Tanjirou didn't know how to react so he stared at her, immobilized by fear and confusion. "...W-what the hell do you want?"

Mujōna's scarlet eyes lit up; her petrifying stare made him uncomfortable. She scanned Tanjirou's body and gaged his strength. A few moments later, she spoke.

"How would you like to become a demon, Tanjirou Kamado?"

She can't be serious.

"You've got to be joking!" he roared, seething. "I've dedicated my life to become a Demon Slayer and to end all demons!"

The red-haired slayer fumed with resentment and anger because he couldn't slay her. Tanjirou gaped at her protruding stomach and sensed nothing but evil.

That thing inside of her...

"You are a talented Breather of the Sun and your skills are impeccable," she said. "We could use a man like you in our ranks."

"You're delusional! The only reason you're still breathing is because I have morals, unlike you!"

Sighing, Mujōna said, "That may be true, but I doubt you'd be able to kill me; I'm much stronger than I look. I mean, how we look," she said, referring to her unborn child. "Look, I know what Muzan has done to you and I apologize on his behalf, which is why I'm giving you a proposal: become a demon and your friends won't be harmed."

"...My friends? I knew that you demons were behind this! You'll regret taking them!"

"Tanjirou, the clock is ticking. If you ever want to see your friends again, you'll submit. I'll give you three days," Mujōna said.

Then she covered her baby bump and walked away. As they vanished, the other demon glared at Tanjirou with her demonic blue eyes.

With the ominous aura was gone, Tanjirou dropped his sword and crumbled to the ground.

T-they have my friends… They have Yushiro, Mitsuri and… Kanao.
