So, here we are: this is the epilogue. Obviously this story could have been much longer; the author always knows lots more about the characters, and there's such a lot that has been left out like the conflicts within the Cullen coven, what's going on with Garreth, Felix and Alec, why Maria kept Kerry as her pet, what happened to the young boy and and and... However, as I really wanted to put up a finished story for once, you have to use your own imagination for that.

If you like my kind of writing, you can find my original stories (London Vampire Mysteries) on - pen name Carolyn Mitchell.

Thanks for all the reads and the nice reviews - you've made my corona holidays much better than they could have been. For me it's back to work next week (and to writing another original story ;-)

Stay safe!

Epilogue

B POV

Jasper and I moved back to Seattle and found an apartment together, and while Jacob was skeptical of Jasper at first – apparently to him he still had the same scent he'd had as a vampire – he soon came round. Jasper's empathetic character and his obvious love for me won him over almost as fast as it did Charlie. Angela and Ben liked him anyway.

I finished my degree and started on postgrad work in English lit while Jasper used his contacts (for false documents) and got himself a residency as a psychiatrist at a veterans' clinic, specializing in PTSD. Asked, why he would want to spend his now limited time dealing with stories similar to his own, he shrugged and said he felt that he had to give something back for all the good luck he had had. Besides, he was so happy and content with the way his life had turned out, he was sure, he could still project his emotions at least in a small way.

We obviously stayed close to Peter and Charlotte – all our extended vampire family remained fiercely protective of us – and when we became parents, we were blessed with lots of honorary aunts and uncles as well as the world's only gang of non-sleeping baby-sitters.

Kerry dithered for a while about being changed, but after a year, she succumbed to Garreth's charm and persistence. For now, Garreth has taken a leaf out of Jasper's book and teaches history at the university when he is not rabble-rousing for any number of grassroots causes with Kerry. Needless to say – never has grassroots activism been more creative and efficient in Seattle.

Alec, Felix and Anna spent their time travelling, with Felix and Alec still trying to show Anna all the positive sides of life. Lately Jasper has become more optimistic about Anna finally healing from her trauma at the hands of Maria's henchmen.

Life – vampire and otherwise – is good.
