James woke up the next morning to the sound of someone knocking at the door. Half asleep he opened the door to see the delivery man standing there with a small envelop. James signed his name, took the envelope and closed the door wondering who the sender was when he saw his mother's name on the envelope and headed over to another room just in case he woke up Amy and opened it.

Inside was a small marble one would find in a kids' shop along with a small note. 'Hold it and say "activate",' the note said.

James understood that the marble was a portkey and so he waited until Amy was gone and then held the marble in his hand and said the word, experiencing for the first time the unpleasant tug in his naval as he felt being squeezed through a narrow pipe.

He fell hard on his back as the wind was knocked out of his lungs. He grunted, feeling a bit hurt as he pushed himself up. He looked around, dusting his clothes wondering where he was. There was nothing in sight for miles but an unending land of patched grass when he realized he felt something he had felt before – the physical weight on his shoulders as he turned and saw a massive, ancient looking manor appear behind him. It was the one he had seen in his father's memories. It was the Potter Manor.

He saw Daphne come out of the manor, walking towards him. He closed his mouth which was open wide looking at the massiveness of the manor as she walked over to him. She said nothing but gave him a vial with some sort of brown potion in it. "Drink," she said.

James looked at her confused but took the vial and gulped down the fluid. It tasted like nothing. It felt weird tasting something which was tasteless. He suddenly felt a burning sensation inside his body as if someone had fed him burning lave.

He fell on the ground, screaming in pain as Daphne just stood there looking at him. James thrashed his arms and legs, his throat drying as the pain only increased. It went on for about ten minutes but for James it was like hours. Once the pain had subsided James was all sweaty. His face had turned red and his veins were popping due to increased blood flow.

"What…What was…that?" he managed to say before he lost consciousness.

James woke up to find himself in a surprisingly familiar room. He sat up, realizing his entire body was sore from the pain he had felt before as he looked around. He realized it was his own room when they used to live here and when James knew about the magical world and everything.

The door opened and he saw his godmother walk in with a tray of potion vials. "What are those for?" he asked.

"They are for relieving your pain," she said putting the tray on the side table. "What your mother gave you was a potion which removed the magical limiter which was placed on you by Son Potter. You," she said handing him his wand, "are now a full-fledged wizard."

James held his wand and felt the power rushing inside of him. The wand tip glowed warm white only this time it was much brighter and much stronger than before.

"Your training will begin tomorrow," she said as she prepared to leave the room.

"But…But what about my muggle life?" he asked.

"You will have to manage that on your own," said Hermione. "Don't worry, the training room at this place works similar to the hyperbolic time chamber which you saw in your father's memories."

James watched her leave the room as he lay there sitting on the bed. It had gone dark outside as he wondered how long he was unconscious. He picked up one of the vials and emptied its contents. The affect was immediate as he felt his muscles relax. The feeling of tiredness followed close. James didn't know when he fell asleep.

He woke up early the next morning and looked outside. The morning was a bit foggy. He was distracted by the knock on the door as he turned and saw his mother enter.

"How are you feeling?" she asked as she looked from him to the tray that Hermione had brought in last night. "Why didn't you drink all of them?" she asked.

"I fell asleep after the first one," he said. "I will finish them now."

"Not with an empty stomach," she said. "Breakfast is ready, eat something and then take them."

"When will we start?" he asked.

"We will talk about it after the breakfast," she said leaving the room.

About an hour later once they all had their breakfast James was taken to the basement of the manor which had been drastically changed from what he remembered from the memories of his dad. He also noticed a series of highly complex runes drawn at the entrance. The moment he entered the place he felt the tremendous amount of magical energy around him. Hermione and Daphne followed in close.

"This place has been magically enhanced to delay the real-world time slippage," said Hermione. "Do you remember seeing the hyperbolic time chamber or what we call the realm of void?" James nodded. "In that realm a whole year equals to twenty-four earth hours. In here a whole twenty-four hours equals one hour on the outside world. That is how much you will be training each day."

James nodded.

"Now," said Daphne as she took a step forward, "because you barely completed your first year at Hogwarts and all the previous memories of yours are still not perfect we will be beginning from the very first level – learning to channel your magic through the wand. You might've seen us perform magic without a wand and that takes years and a lot of practice and hard work. A wand help you channel your magic much more easily so that is where we will start." She waved her hand and conjured a feather. It dropped on the concrete floor as James looked at it confused. "Take out your wand," she said. James did so without asking a question.

"Some spells require nothing but a fluent, swift verbal casting," she continued. "Some spells, however, require specific wand movements like the one you are about to learn. This spell is called a hovering spell and if cast correctly it allows the caster to float objects. Now, aim your wand at the feather," James did so, "the wand movement is like this," she stopped and made her own wand reappear.

James looked with extreme concentration as his mother made the feather float with the wand movement and the spell which he heard clearly. Once the feather dropped on the floor she made her wand disappear and turned to her son. "Now you try," she said.

James nodded as Daphne stepped to the side. He did the wand movement and said the spell. The feather moved a little, hovered about a millimeter above the ground for a second before dropping. James tried again but nothing happened this time. "You don't have to try too hard," he heard his mother say. "This spell is not that difficult to cast, however, it does require focus. Keep your mind calm and focus."

James took in a long breath, trying his best to calm his mind. Once he was sure he cast the spell again. This time he did better than before although the feather still dropped after floating for a few seconds. "That's good," said Hermione. "Try again. Remember, keep your mind calm." James nodded and cast the spell again.

It went on for about two more hours and by that time James had started to feel drained. From what his mother and godmother told him his use of magic was still inefficient and he was using too much raw magical power to do even a task as simple as floating an object. He was a bit relieved to know that it was quite normal for beginners but he was given the homework to focus on his core's control.

Hermione gave him a rune stone made specifically to focus one one's core development. Once he had left the ladies were greeted with Abe's presence as he arrived outside the manor the moment James left.

"I hope you are happy," said Daphne as she saw him appear in the gardens.

"I have informed Pan about the ongoing situation and she will be joining James in the future lessons. I think it is time we all trained and prepared ourselves."

The coming weeks James' daily routine was as hectic as it could've been. Not only did he have to manage his muggle life he was also told to maintain his physical fitness along with daily two hours of core development. Not to mention the three-hour training session with his mother, godmother and Abe. This meant that he spent around twenty hours straight in the basement of Potter Manor. It all started to pay off as his control over magic increased dramatically.

Soon enough he got accustomed to his new life and now it had become sort of a habit for him. By the time the month had passed James had acquired skills of a top-class auror if not more. There was still a long way to go but this was enough for now as time for a new raid came in and this time James was asked to join in although he would be in the rear, only observing.

He made an excuse to Amy and left for the raid. It was to take place in the night time. James was given a different wand, one whose magical signature couldn't be detected although it only worked if James used a limited amount of his own magic. A little more and his magical signature would be detected.

They arrived at a rundown shack out in the middle of nowhere but a very thick forest. The moonless night only made things harder than what it already was. The visibility was almost zero and lighting their wands would only grab unwanted attention. Their numbers were already too low compared to last time as James had heard them speak.

They were all wearing magically enhanced night vision goggles. It made seeing things a little better but still not up to the mark.

"Remember to keep your distance," Pan said coming beside James. "I know you hate this but I am going to be by your side. You can't say no to that because it's you mom's order." James nodded as Abe sent out the signal.

Things happened quickly from there as James couldn't even see the attack that came towards him. Luckily Pan had erected a strong shield protecting them from the curse. He looked at her. She didn't look like the Pan he'd known all his life. The moody, smiley face of hers was gone and was replaced with an expression which had seen a lot of deaths, sacrifices and pain.

She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her. He ended up behind her back as she cast a barrage of spells. James looked at others who were all fighting, defending their own but he couldn't see the enemies. It was when one of their own fired of a lightning spell high up in the air he could see them.

They looked like those monsters he'd seen the pictures of on some conspiracy theory websites on the internet. Looking one he saw it had no eyes or nose but a large mouth filled with sharp teeth. Its drool was melting the grass on the ground like acid. It was hunched and had bones extruding from all parts of its bodies and it was very quick on its limbs. He saw in horror as one of those monsters caught a hold of them and tore them apart in seconds.

"What are those?" he asked.

"Better not ask questions, James," said Pan as she kept firing spells and creating shields at the same time. "Since we've all been discovered from our last raid Tenille has had all the hideouts prepared."

"What can I do?" he asked.

"You see the one on your left?" she asked. James replied positively. "Good. Notice its movements and try to figure out where it will attack."

James did the same when a killing curse barely missed him. He went pale with fear and stood exactly where he was motionless. Pan jerked him back to the present. "Did you just ignore your surroundings?" she asked. "Have you learned nothing from our training?" James shook his head. He was hyperventilating. Pan rolled her eyes as she popped open a vial from her potions kit and put its contents into James' mouth. His condition bettered in seconds.

"They guy on your left," he said.

"What?" asked Pan.

"It's going to attack the guy on your left…him!" said James pointing to one of their own who was busy fighting the monsters. Pan looked and saw James was right.

"You got all that in that little time?" asked Pan before firing off a killing curse towards the said monster. It hit point blank as it dropped dead. The man looked at Pan, nodding in thanks. She nodded back before looking at James. "Alright, Potter. Seems like you're not that worthless after all," she said. "Come on, back to back!"

James nodded as they stood up, their backs against each other. He had his wand in his hand and his eyes running around looking at things.

"What do you see?" asked Pan.

"To your right, about a hundred meters," he said. Pan fired the curse taking out the monster. James said another and she took it out. Slowly but steadily their team of two started to take out one after another of Tenille's monsters. The others noticed it, too. They all knew Daphne had her son on the field tonight and they were all asked to defend him if they could. It looked like he was doing fine on his own along with his god sister. This gave them confidence as some of them saw Harry in the form of James and this was all the boost that they needed.

The fight went on for another hour and their side had taken a heavy loss but they had also responded back with twice the vigor. Finally seeing that they could hold no longer Daphne and Hermione called a stop to the raid and they all ran away from the spot although some of them still got caught running away. James couldn't ignore their painful cries as they got ripped apart by those monsters. While leaving he fired off a killing curse which hit one of their own people who died before the monsters could devour him. James didn't know why he did it but that's what he'd felt like doing at such a time.

They all arrived back at Potter Manor. Daphne had the house elves to everyone's medical care. Pan took James to another room where Hermione was waiting for him.

"Daphne does not approve of this but some of us think you did great for a first timer," she said looking at him.

"I think he should be our lookout," Pan suggested.

"I can see why," said Hermione. "The two of you did quite a bit of damage to her army tonight and all of us are talking about it."

"What does mom think?" asked James.

"Well, she's your mom," said Hermione. "She was against you even knowing about magic and all of this."

"So then why tell me?" he asked.

"Abe overstepped her there," she said. "Now that you know everything Daphne had no choice but to involve you into all of this. She is still hesitant about you being into the team…risking your life."

James didn't say anything. "I think we're all tired," Pan said trying to distract everyone. "Maybe it's best if we all head to bed."

"I think that's a good idea," Hermione said. "Your mom is having a meeting with others so I guess she won't be able to see you today. Why don't you head back home? I'll tell her you said goodbye." James nodded, leaving the room. As he was heading out he saw his mom alone in the kitchen sipping on some fire whiskey and under deep thought. He wanted to talk to her but decided against it. They all needed some time. He had seen things tonight that had shook him to the core. He wanted to rest and try to recuperate from it all.

Reaching home he turned on his phone and saw a message from Amy. She was spending the night with her girlfriends who had come to town for one of her friend's wedding. He didn't even change as he threw himself on the bed and the tiredness and sleep took him over in seconds.

As he lay there asleep the wards around his house shimmered for a second before going silent.
