Next chapter is officially posted! Just when Danielle and Frieza are settling into their Family Life. Danielle's own past has a way of coming back to her. But who they are is not who she would ever expect to show up. WARNING: Mentions of substance abuse in this chapter. Enjoy :)

Thea was now six months old and becoming more energetic by the day. So far she hit a lot of her milestones pretty early. She can sit up on her own and just recently is trying to crawl. A lot of times Frieza and Danielle would lay on the floor in front of their infant and try and encourage her to move closer. Thea would push herself up on her hands and knees and take two crawls forward before falling on her belly. Sometimes she'd even try crawling on her belly. Like when soldiers do an army crawl. But Thea was determined, she would continue to try. Even when she fell she'd try and push herself up. Things have been great with their little family. Danielle still worked from home and Frieza was still embracing his time as a full time Dad. Her best friend and foster sister, Liv was cautious around him. To say she had quite the scare when she first saw him was an understatement. Took a while for Danielle to calm her down. When she did, Liv asked her if she was being brainwashed or mind controlled. It was a little hard for Danielle to keep a straight face while Liv was going down the list of what Frieza could've possibly done to her. Danielle did tell her ahead of time before Liv met him that he was different. Her response was less then ideal. "Yeah! But when you said different I thought you meant like maybe he was a double amputee or something! Not fucking E.T.!" Danielle tried to explain things with her as best as she could. Liv had a hard time believing that not only did her foster sister slept with an alien but had a child with him. "But you told me Thea's eyes were a genetic abnormality. Now your telling me that little circus freak is your baby's Daddy!?" Frieza at the time had left a little while ago when he sensed things getting very heated. As much as he wanted to stay behind with Danielle, he knew by being there it would only make things worse between her and Liv. So he told Danielle he was taking Thea for a walk. That surprisingly didn't go smoothly when Liv strongly objected he leave the baby behind. "You just going to let that mime looking motherfucker from hell walk out of here with your kid!?" Danielle pinched the bridge of her nose trying to think of the best way to defuse the situation. Frieza just ignored the high strung woman and grabbed a couple things before walking out the door with Thea.

It took a while, but eventually Danielle was able to calm Liv down. "He makes me happy, Liv. I know it seems strange because he isn't human. But there is more to him then that. And we do love each other." Liv sighs, "But sweetie, he kidnapped you and held you against your will in space. You told me all this yourself once you came back to earth. Are you sure your not just dealing with I don't know, Stockholm Syndrome or something?" Danielle shakes her head and grasps Liv's hands. "It's not that, Liv. Yeah, he wasn't always a good person. But I'm telling you, he changed. Frieza gave up everything and left space behind to be with Thea and I. And believe me when I say, he left a lot behind. I'm not saying you have to like him. All I want is for you to be happy for me. When you think about it. When was the last time you ever saw me this happy with anyone?" The dark skinned woman sighed, "Never, it's just; it wouldn't have been so bad finding this out if he in fact hadn't kidnapped you in the first place. Had you met him by chance somehow and he was kind to you from the start then I wouldn't have had this much of a problem with it. I guess I just don't want to see you get hurt again. Not just you, but Thea too." Danielle smiled, "He won't, Liv. I know deep down that he loves us. We both grew up in the system. You know it is not easy for us to trust others. Plus, you and I both were always good at reading and evaluating others throughout the years. All I'm asking is you trust my judgement one more time." There was silence for a moment, before Liv finally spoke. "If there is one thing I will say is I'd never thought you'd find someone who is even lighter then you. And I thought your ass was pale. But he is the very definition of 'White'." Danielle just busted out laughing at her foster sister's remark. Liv just smiled and pulled Danielle in for a hug. "Does this mean I got to start calling E.T. my brother-in-law?"

Danielle chuckles again, "No, you don't have to if you don't want to." Liv pretended to wipe sweat off her brow. "Good to know. But...I must ask? Just how in the hell did you two 'Do It'? That boy be looking like an alien ken doll if you catch what I mean." Danielle's face turns bright red, "Liv!" She squeaked out. But Liv just crosses her arms waiting for an answer. Danielle sighs, 'Leave it to Liv to want to know the dirty details.' She clears her throat, " He, how do I put this. He keeps it concealed inside his body until we get intimate. Then it kind of just pops out." She never thought she'd have this kind of awkward talk with her foster sister. But, it is Liv. So she shouldn't be all that surprised. Liv just raises a black eye brow, "He doesn't have like three dicks does he? Or something that looks like a tentacle?" Danielle's mouth dropped open. "What's this talk of tentacles?" Both their heads shot to Frieza who just walked in with Thea. "Ummm, nothing. How was your walk?" He looked between the two women with a questioning look on his face. "It was nice, Thea spotted some birds in a nearby tree and got excited. Even more amusing, she heard them chirping and tried making chirping sounds herself." He said with some laughter in his voice as he turned his attention back to his daughter. Liv could clearly see adoration in his eyes when he looked upon the infant. When she turned to look back at Danielle, she could see love in her sister's eyes as she gazed at the alien man and their child. 'Guess there really is something between them.' "Well, I think it's time I be going then. I'll see you soon alright?" said Liv. Danielle nodded and her foster sister gave her another hug and said she loved her. Then Danielle walked her to the door. On the way there Liv stopped by Frieza, "Just take care of my sister and goddaughter and we won't have a problem. Okay, Chalk Balls?" His eye ridges furrow in confusion at the unusual term. "Okay?" He said back with a hint of confusion.

Danielle just rolled her eyes and continued walking the head strong woman to the door. Once the door closed Danielle leaned back on the door and let out a huge sigh of relief. "Sorry about that. Should've warned you that she has no filter and doesn't hold anything back." He waved it off, "It's fine, I think she is rather amusing. Plus, I kind of already knew what to expect. You already told me a lot about her in the past, remember?" Danielle smirked, "Yeah." He pulled her in and gave her a soft kiss. When they pulled back Danielle took Thea and kissed her cheek. "So, what exactly are these chalk balls she talks of?" He asked. Danielle's shoulders started to shake up and down with laughter, "Trust me, you don't want to know." This all happened about a month ago. Liv still comes around for visits and even joins them sometimes for walks on the weekends. She still throws funny nicknames at the arcosian. Most of which just confused him. The latest one she called him was Albino Space Lizard. But in the end Liv was still happy for Danielle. Her teasing was all in good fun and not to be spiteful.

It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, so they decided to stay in for the day. "Come on Thea, you can do it sweetie." Danielle said to the infant who was trying her hand at crawling again. While Frieza sat on the couch reading a book on WWII. He took to reading after Danielle gave him English language reading lessons. Something he picked up very quickly. He was always fascinated with history. So she ordered a few history books online for him. Danielle was laying on the floor on her stomach in front of Thea with her arms in front of her. While Thea pushed herself forward with her hands, only to fall on her belly again. It was then they heard someone knocking at the door. Danielle looked up, wondering who could it be. Obviously not, Liv. Danielle gave her a spare key to her place and she'd just let herself in. 'Maybe it was Bulma or possibly Goku.' Danielle pushed herself up from the floor. Frieza put his book down and was wondering who it could be too. When Danielle opens the door she was confused when she saw a woman who looked to be in her mid forties standing at the door. She was a little taller then Danielle. The woman had a slim build, medium length blonde hair, and hazel eyes. At first the woman didn't say anything. Just stood there looking over Danielle. "Ummm, can I help you?" And just like that the woman snapped out of her stupor. "I'm, I'm sorry. It's just I wasn't sure what to think. To be honest, I was very nervous about coming here and seeing you." This woman wasn't making any sense to Danielle. "I'm sorry, Miss. But I don't know what you mean by that. And...just who are you?" She gives Danielle a sad smile, "I see your father hasn't told you much about me. I don't blame him. After all, we didn't part on good terms." This only just puzzled Danielle more. From what she remembers, her father never dated or saw anyone after her mother left them. "You still never answered my question. Who are you?"

"I'm Cassie Morrison. I'm your Mother, Danielle." She said. Danielle gasped and her eyes widened. She saw a couple pictures of her mom when she was very little. But she hardly remembers what she looked like. But seeing her here in front of her now gave Danielle some hint of recognition. Even though in the pictures her Mom was a lot younger then. But then again Dad did tell her even though he was twenty-two at the time of her birth. Her Mom was still a teenager at the time, only seventeen years old when she had Danielle. Being that Danielle was twenty-seven now, that meant her mom would be around forty-four years old now. This woman does look to be around that age. "I don't know if this is some sick joke or a game. But you need to give me a little more than that to prove your my mom. And if you in fact are my mom, then this is where I tell you to 'Get Lost'." The older woman sighs, but she knew to expect this outcome. She did after all abandon her daughter when she was no more than a newborn. "Your Father's name was Theo Critelli. We met at his friend, Neil Peters party one Summer Evening. We connected right away and started dating not long afterwards. Things got serious very fast and not long after I became pregnant with you. You were born June 23, 748 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, Oregon. Would you like to know the exact time and day too?" Danielle's heart stopped. She didn't want to believe it, but this was her mother. Who else would know these details, besides Liv and her closest friends that is. "You have a lot of nerve showing up on my doorstep all these years later." Danielle grit out in anger. The older woman swallowed and licked her lips. "Please, may I come in and talk with you? There is so much I feel I need to tell you." Danielle pursed her lips and told her to wait a moment. She closed the door and her breathing caught in her throat. She felt a hand on her shoulder. "Danielle?" Frieza said softly. She turned to him with a distressed look on her face. "What do I do?" She whispers to him. He gives her a sad smile. "Just let her in. Clearly she has a lot to tell you. I'll give you your space. I'll take Thea to her room and read her a couple books." She bites her lip and grew anxious. Frieza leaned in and kissed her cheek. "It will be fine, Little Mouse. I feel this is something you need to do." She gives in and nods. He rubs her back before turning with Thea in his arm and heads down the hall, quietly calling Maze to come with them. Maze, who grew use to Frieza over the last couple months followed him down the hall to the nursery. He shut the door after the canine walked in.

Danielle took a deep breath and opened the door. Allowing the older woman in. Her 'Mom' looked around the place. "This is a nice place you have here, Danielle." She then spotted a couple pictures on the wall. They were of Danielle and Thea, before Frieza came to earth to live with them. The woman ran her fingers over one of the pictures. "Oh Danielle, she's beautiful. What's her name?" The younger woman crossed her arms. "You said you wanted to talk. So start talking." The older woman sighs and takes a seat on the couch. While Danielle sat in the love seat off to the side. "I can understand your anger. I know how you must feel about me. I know you think I never cared about you. But that wasn't true. I thought about you everyday and always wondered how you were doing and what you were doing." Danielle decided to interrupt. "First off, how in the hell did you know I was here? And second of all, you have a very shitty way of showing you care." Her mom winces at the last statement. "I asked a couple of your friends back in Astoria. They gave me your new address. I went to school with your friend Erin's Aunt. I went to visit them and inquired of your whereabouts. Her Aunt Leslie and I still keep in touch. Was quite surprised when they told me you moved out of the country."

Danielle was surprised at this. Erin's Aunt Leslie never told her she knew of her Mom. 'Probably to spare me from more pain of having an absent mother.' She thought. "Why now, Cassie?" She said, refusing to acknowledge her as her mother. No, she still but a stranger to her. Cassie begun nervously wringing her hands together. "I guess, it's because for the longest time I was ashamed. Not of you but of myself. I will not hide the fact that what I did to you and your father was wrong. I was irresponsible and a coward. In the end, it costs me everything. I don't know what your Dad told you about me or if he told you anything at all." Her daughter cut her off yet again, "He tried to, but I didn't want to here it. You leaving us behind told me all I needed to know about you." Cassie looked down at her lap. "I was a seventeen year old kid. Wild, reckless, and irresponsible. I didn't know how to properly take care of myself, let alone a baby. I was scared. That is why I left you with your Dad. If anyone could take good care of you, it was him. Me...I knew I would just screw things up with you if I stayed. Things only got worse when I got mixed up in drugs. I became an addict, who could barely hold down a job or keep up with rent. For a while, I drifted from place to place. I saw you and your Dad from time to time from a distance over the years as you grew from a tiny infant to a beautiful little girl. You two looked so happy." But then Cassie's smile slowly dropped from her face. "Then I heard about the accident and that My beloved Theo was killed. I could only imagine how you felt at that time when you learned he was never coming back home to you. Once I heard the state took you away. I knew I had to do something about it. I tried to go to court and get custody of you. But it was clear they saw me as unfit due to my drug addiction problems. So my request was denied. From there I went into a downward spiral. I was depressed at loosing your father and loosing you to the state. I was using even more. I overdosed a few times over the years, landing myself in the hospital. It was then they demanded I go to rehab. I did, and was there for sometime until I became clean. I went for counseling and got a job. To this day, I still hold down that job and have been clean for several years now."

Danielle didn't know what to think about all of this. But at the same time she was still angry at her for what she did. "Is this all suppose to justify the fact that you abandoned me? I was your daughter. And still, you left me behind. Do you have any idea how badly that effected me? Do you even care!?" The younger woman said, her voice getting louder with each word that spilled from her mouth. A lump was starting to form in her throat and tears started building up in her eyes. Her mom wasn't doing much better at holding in her anguish and guilt. "Of course I care, Danielle. But you also need to understand that I was a mess. If I came back to you and your father in the state I was in. It would've hurt you more. I couldn't bare to let you see me like that. I wanted to reach out to you much sooner. But as I said, I was ashamed. Don't know how any failed parent could look their child in the face. Especially when you Know that your such a fuck up and a failure. Some things are just not that easy to explain." Her daughter closes her eyes and takes in a deep shaky breath before exhaling. "What is it you want me to say? That I understand? That I forgive you? Just what is it you want from me?" Danielle says as two stray tears roll down her cheeks. A tear slides down her mother's cheek, "All I wanted, is for you to know the truth. You deserve at least that...and so much more." Cassie then gives her a watery smile, "I see you do have a happy ending. If those pictures of you and your baby have anything to go by. You look happy, and I'm sure your an amazing Mom. More than I could ever be." Danielle wiped away her tears. "Yeah, I am happy. Thea, is the best thing to ever happen to me. My little girl is my entire world. Same goes for her Father. He's amazing and we love each other very much. The only thing that makes me happier is that Thea is lucky enough to have both her parents present in her life." Cassie smiles at this, "Well, I'm glad to see everything is going well with you. I came here to be open with you. And I thank you, for listening to what I had to say. I'd ask you if I may continue to be present in your life again. But something tells me you wouldn't be open for that. And I completely understand why you wouldn't be. But regardless of how you feel about me...I Love You, Danielle. I always have and I always will. And I'm so proud of the strong, independent woman you've grown up to be."

More tears spilled from Danielle's eyes. Her mom couldn't hold back anymore and let out a slight sob as the tears came. Danielle slowly approached the older woman. She looked her in the eye before slowly raising her arms and wrapping them around her Mom's shoulders and pulling her in for a hug. Her Mom returned the sentiment and wrapped her arms around her daughter. "I can't believe I'm saying this. But I know it's what Dad would've wanted. And that is...I Forgive You. I also wish to keep in contact with you and see you more. Plus, I'm sure you'd want to meet Thea and...eventually my Boyfriend." Cassie sniffled and nodded. "I'd love that. More than anything. All I've ever dreamed about these past years was reuniting with you and being a family again." Danielle tightened her hold as did her Mom. They held each other for a few more moments before pulling back. Cassie tucked a long dark brown lock behind her daughter's ear. "You look like your Father." She says to Danielle. The younger woman smiles. "At least I know where I get my eyes from. Well, at least one of them." She said pointing at her one hazel eye. The older woman chuckled at the little joke. "Yes, always thought you had special eyes." Danielle bit her lip, "How long you staying in town?" The older woman sighs, "Only a few more days. It's all I could get on short notice from work."

"Where do you work?" Danielle asked. "Oh, I still live in Astoria. Leslie got me a position at Kressler and Doyle Protective Services as a social worker." Danielle raised her eye brows, "Looks like you have been doing very well for yourself." Cassie nods, "Yes, but I may think about relocating. Seeing as my only child is so far away in another country." Danielle smiled wider, "I'd like it if you did. That way we could catch up. You would also get to spend more time with your granddaughter." Another happy tear fell from the older woman's eye. It was surreal, she came out here to talk with her long lost daughter. She never would've thought she'd find out she was now a Grandmother. "I will relocate as soon as possible. The firm has some ties with Protective Service Organizations overseas. I'm sure it won't be difficult finding a place here." Danielle did like the thought of her Mom being close by. Mainly being because there was so much to catch up on and so much time to make up for. They chatted a little longer. As much as Danielle wish her mom could stay longer, she knew it be unfair to keep Frieza and Thea holed up in the nursery. She wouldn't mind having them come out so Frieza could introduce himself. But she was worried how her mom would react to seeing him, since he wasn't human. Maybe she should end the conversation and call it a day with her. She could always try and introduce them next time. After Danielle explains to her mother that he's different and not to be alarmed. She hated to do it, but she had to lie to her for now. "I hate to cut this conversation short. But I have to leave soon to meet up with my boyfriend who has Thea. They are over at a friend of ours house and I was going to meet up with them soon." Cassie nodded in understanding. Danielle lead the older woman to the door. Her mom asked her if she could see her again before she leaves for home in a few days. Of course, Danielle says yes. They exchange phone numbers and Danielle told her she would call her to let her mom know what was a good time to meet up. They said their goodbyes and she left.

Danielle made her way down the hall to the nursery. She smiled at the adorable scene in front of her. Frieza in the rocking chair, with a slumbering Thea cradled in his arms. He looked up and smiled when she came in the room. "I take it things ended well?" He asked. "Yeah, but I guess you knew that already. I know you have excellent hearing after all." She said as she eased herself onto his lap. "Yes, But I'd figured I'd ask anyway. It's nice you were able to reconnect with her. You handled it well too." Danielle leaned her head on his other shoulder, as Thea's head occupied the other. "Thanks for talking me into opening the door. I doubt I would've let her in if you weren't here to convince me otherwise." He turned his head to kiss her forehead. "Anytime, Love."

Well, this was an unexpected surprise. I'm sure Danielle's mom showing up on her doorstep was the last thing she would ever expect to see. It's great they were at least able to make amends after all these years. It will be fun seeing how their relationship builds up. Until Next Time ;)
