Hope woke up, and looked to his left. "Did I... Did I oversleep? But... How did i?" Asked Hope, as he looked at a TV, showing a duel between Ai and Marik Ishtar.
An unknown amount of turns has passed since the beginning of the duel. Ai has 2000 life points, controls "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode" (?/ ?) and has no face down card, as well as 5 cards in his hand. Marik Ishtar has 200 life points, controls three copies of "Ra's Disciple" (1100/ 600), 1 facedown card and 1 cards in his hand.
Turn ?: Ai
During the end phase, "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode" changes control back to Marik Ishtar. Ai ends his turn.
"What the hell? Have I really slept in that much? I thought the duels were starting latter today, so we could all have breakfast together. And wouldn't Emily have woken me up? What's going on?" Asked Hope. Hope then stood up. "I'm just happy I'm fully clothed. Thank god for that" Said Hope, as Hope exited his hotel room. Hope then went to the duel arena, as Marik Ishtar was teleported away. "Oh, good. I missed the first duel. Next should be... Emily VS Aporia. I can't wait to see this" Said Hope. Emily and Aporia then walked to the centre of the arena, with Emily glowing blue for a second. "What the... what happened to Emily?" Wondered Hope. "Duel!" Declared Aporia and Emily.
Turn 1: Aporia
Aporia draws. Aporia sets two cards. Aporia normal summons "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato" (1200/ 1800). Aporia activates the first effect of "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato", destroying itself to special summon 2 "Meklord Army" monsters from his Deck. Aporia special summons "Meklord Army of Wisel" (1800/ 0) and "Meklord Army of Skiel" (1200/ 0), and then activates the effect of "Meklord Emperor Granel" (0/ 0) from his hand, since a face-up monster he controlled was destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, special summoning itself from the hand. The stat boosting abilities of "Meklord Army of Wisel", "Meklord Army of Skiel" and "Meklord Emperor Granel" then activated (1800 → 2100 / 0) (1200 → 1800/ 0) (0 → 2000/ 0). Aporia ends his turn.

Emily walks into a underground facility, followed by Kaiba and a few of Kaiba Corp's scientists. "Were you being serious when you told me that a duel would help with research into Mokuba's condition?" Asked Emily. "It's a strech, but Zigfried believes that we can connect competitive instincts with the violent tendencies Mokuba has, and work on a cure for that part of Mokuba's illness" Said Kaiba. "RAD-4" Said Emily. "So Hope has told you?" Asked Kaiba. "I can't blame him. He's just as concerned about Mokuba as you are" Said Emily. "He's been very good and kind about this. What do you say to the first turn?" Asked Kaiba. "I'll happily take it. Let's duel, Kaiba" Said Emily, as she and Kaiba activated their duel disks
Turn 1: Emily
Emily draws. Emily activates the spell card "Tempered Draw", allowed her to place one "Light" and one "Darkness" card in her hand on the bottom of the deck, and then draw 3 cards. Emily places "Light Star" and "Chopman of Darkness" on the bottom of the deck. Emily normal summons "Train of Darkness" (600/ 900). Emily activates the effect of "Train of Darkness", tributing it to special summon one "Light Train" (600/ 900) from her deck and a "Train Token" (Dark/ Machine/ LV3/ 600/ 900). The effect of "Light Train" activates, since "Train of Darkness" is in the graveyard, becoming a tuner and losing a level (LV 3 → LV 2) and special summoning another "Train Token". Emily tunes her level 2 "Light Train" with her two level 3 "Train Token" to Synchro Summon the level 8 "Tempered King Express" (2800/ 2300). Emily sets one card and ends her turn.
Turn 2: Kaiba
Kaiba draws. Kaiba normal summons "Keeper of Dragon Magic" (1800/ 1300), and activates its first effect, discarding one card and adding "Blue-Eyes Fusion" to his hand. Kaiba sets three cards and ends his turn.
"Well, Kaiba. That was strangely unlike you" Said Emily. "I'm just taking it slow for the first turn. I can't crush you if I show you everything, all at once" Said Kaiba. "If you say so" Said Emily.
Turn 3: Emily
Emily draws. Emily activates the first effect of "Tempered King Express", allowing Emily to target one spell or trap card Kaiba controls, reveal it if it's face down, and destroy it. Emily targets the card in Kaiba's central S/T Zone, witch Kaiba subsequently activates, revealing it to be "Shrink", halving the attack of "Tempered King Express" (2800 → 1400/ 2300). Emily normal summoned "Light Jewel" (1000/ 1000). Emily activates the spell card "Light Refraction", special summoning two "Sparkling Token" (Light/ Rock/ LV2/ 500/ 500) since she controls "Light Jewel", then adding "Jewel of Darkness" from her deck to her hand. Emily destroys her two "Sparkling Token" to special summon "Jewel of Darkness" (2700/ 0). "Jewel of Darkness" attacks "Keeper of Dragonic Magic" (Kaiba LP: 3100). "Light Jewel" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba LP: 2100). "Tempered King Express" attacks Kaiba directly, but Kaiba activates his face down quick play spell card "Enemy Controller", targeting "Tempered King Express" and changing it to defence mode. Emily ends her turn.

Kaiba draws. Kaiba activates the spell card "Bingo Machine, Go!", allowing Kaiba to reveal a total of 3 cards that are "Blue-Eyes" monsters or spell or trap cards that specifically lists the card "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" or "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" from his deck, and allowing Emily to pick one of the three cards form Kaiba to add to his hand, and shuffle the remaining cards into his deck. Kaiba reveals "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", "The Ultimate Creature of Destruction" and "Rage with Eyes of Blue", and Emily adds "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to Kaiba's hand. Kaiba activates the spell card "Blue-Eyes Fusion", banishing the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in his hand, and a "Magician with Eyes of Blue" from his deck to Fusion Summon "Close Eyes Magician" (3100/ 2600). "Close Eyes Magician" attacks "Light Jewel" (Emily LP: 1900) Kaiba activates his facedown trap card "Return from the Different Dimension", paying half his life points (Kaiba LP: 1050) to special summon as many of his banished monsters as possible. Kaiba special summons "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000/ 2500) and "Magician with Eyes of Blue" (2550/ 2150). "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" attacks "Jewel of Darkness" (Emily LP: 1600). "Magician with Eyes of Blue" attacks "Tempered King Express". Kaiba activates the effect of "Blue-Eyes Fusion", since he controls a "Blue-Eyes" monster, returning it to his hand. Kaiba activates the spell card "Blue-Eyes Fusion", banishing the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" on his side of the field and the "Obelisk the Tormentor" in his deck to fusion summon "Blue-Eyes Impact Dragon- God Hand of Destruction" (4000/ 4000). Kaiba activates the effect of "Blue-Eyes Impact Dragon- God Hand of Destruction", destroying his "Close Eyes Magician" and his "Magician with Eyes of Blue" to destroy all cards on Emily's side of the field and inflict damage to Emily equal to half of the attack of "Close Eyes Magician" since it has more attack than "Magician with Eyes of Blue" (Emily LP: 50). Since Kaiba destroyed Emily's set "Waking the Dragon", Emily can now special summon a monster from her Deck or Extra Deck, so Emily special summons "Tempered Gigant Driller" (2500/ 2000). Kaiba ends his turn.
"Amazing. You nearly had me beat in one turn. Unfortunately for you, you should have made sure I went down in one turn" Said Emily.
Turn 5: Emily
Emily draws. Emily activates the first effect of "Tempered Gigant Driller", allowing her to add one "Light" or "Darkness" card to her hand, then add it's "Light" or "Darkness" counterpart to her hand as well. Hope adds "Star of Darkness" to her hand, and then "Light Star". Emily activated the effects of both "Light Star" (2500/ 1000) and "Star of Darkness" (2500/ 1000), decreasing both of their levels by 1 (6 → 5) (6 → 5) and special summoning both of them from her hand. Emily tunes her level 5 "Light Star" with her level 5 "Star of Darkness" to Synchro Summon the level 10 "Tempered RyuTeiOh" (3500/ 1600). "Tempered RyuTeiOh" attacks "Blue-Eyes Impact Dragon- God Hand of Destruction", with the effect of "Tempered RyuTeiOh" activating, with it gaining the attack equal to all other "Tempered" monsters she controls (3500 → 6000/ 1600) (Kaiba LP: 100). "Tempered Gigant Driller" attacks directly (Kaiba LP: 0). Emily wins.
"That was a great match, Kaiba. You are truly the rival of the King of Games" Said Emily, as she deactivated her duel disk. Kaiba then started laughing. "Kaiba? Something funny you wanna share with the class?" Asked Emily. "You haven't noticed, have you?" Asked Kaiba. "What? What haven't I noticed?" Asked Emily, as she looked down at her arms, now covered in green light.
Meanwhile, in the arena
"No way... Emily lost..." Said Hope, as he looked at Emily on the ground, as Apoira stood faceing her with Meklord Emperor Granel, Meklord Emperor Wisel and Meklord Emperor Skiel behind him, before they disappeared.
Meanwhile, with Kaiba and Emily
"You... you set me up!" Shouted Emily. "Absolutely! You remember my plan, don't you?" Asked Kaiba. "Your plan? Who the hell are you?" Asked Emily. "Don't you remember?" Asked Kaiba. "I might. I'd just like you to tell me" Said Emily. "Well, I was a former..." Said Kaiba. Suddenly, Emily tackled Kaiba and they both teleported to a small island with black sand. "If I remember correctly, you claimed you were the Rubicon. But you are actually know to all your little friends as... The Minotaur, was it? Welcome to Anaphi. To the south, your home. To the north, maybe north-east, your long lost cousin" Said Emily, as she stood up pointed her bladed staff at 'Kaiba'. "So I see you have done a bare minimum of research into the Cult of the Rubicon" Said 'Kaiba', who also stood up. "I did. Hope's done more" Said Emily. "Ah, yes. The secondary target. He would know that I'm a a former member, or a former Minotaur" Said 'Kaiba'. "Secondary target? For what?" Asked Emily. "I was hired by a duelist in the Neo Kaiba Grand Prix to get you and Hope out of the tournament during round 2" Said 'Kaiba'.
