Thank you Liv for all the reviews. Everything belongs to jk rowling.
Remus took a deep breathe and jumped into the bath. "Bloody Hell, James, this was an amazing find." Sirius said. James had managed to obtain the password to the prefects bathroom. "how did you manage it?"
"you know Molly's boyfriend Arthur?" James asked. "well, he really wanted a rubber duck. I dont know why. But anyway, Lily's sister had given her a rubber duck for Christmas. And Lily was annoyed at me when I asked her on a date, so she threw it at me. I gave it to Arthur, and he told me the password to the prefects bathroom in return."
Remus hopped out of the bath and shook off like a wet dog. Both he and Sirius had blatantly refused to wear swimwear, instead, both of them wore full body wetsuits stolen from the laundry the house elves were doing. Remus couldn't wear swimwear that showed his body. They would see his scars. They might guess what he was.
"do you reckon its okay?" Sirius asked. "that we stole these wetsuits?" Peter nodded. "Absolutely. We're going to return them, after all." Remus shrugged. He felt guilty as well. "i think that because we're returning them, it isn't really stealing. But if we were going to keep them, I'd say that would be wrong." James said. Remus thought about what his book felt was acceptable.
Perhaps in some circumstances, stealing is acceptable. Stealing money for the sake of it, or because you want more money, is wrong. But perhaps, a starving mother, desperate to feed her child, who steals a loaf of bread, perhaps that is okay. It is, after all, the rich that put her in that situation.
We glorify thieves like Robin Hood, who's fame is entirely down to his crimes. He stole, time and time again. But he took the money off of the rich, the rich who's taxes, attitudes, work opportunities, societies, meant that the poor were bled dry and left to starve. We see Robin as a hero, stealing off of the sheriff of Nottingham, to feed the poor. We say he was justified, that the sheriff was the villain. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. Its acceptable in literature, its acceptable in history, its acceptable in fables, myths and legends.
And yet, it is not acceptable in real life. Many werewolves are pushed to the point of having to steal to feed themselves, and yet they say we are criminals. We are filthy, dirty, criminals, and we deserve punishment. Perhaps, arguably, it is because werewolves steal for themselves. Robin hood stole for the people of Nottingham. Jean Valjean stole to feed his sisters children. And yet, that is not the case. Werewolves have been arrested for stealing food to feed the cubs in packs. I think in truth, men are merely fools, and that if hose in charge had been alive in Robin's day, they would sympathise with the sheriff.
Remus shrugged off his thoughts, and leapt back into the bath. It was so large it was practically a swimming pool. Suddenly a ghost swept into the room. "hello boys. Your all very handsome. I'm myrtle." she floated up to Sirius. "especially you, your really cute" she said to Sirius. "thanks...but I'm gay" Sirius froze and went extremely pale. "joke. That was a joke." he stuttered. He got up, and turned and ran, leaving the three marauders alone in silence.
