A/N: I haven't done one of these for a few chapters now but I figured now would be a good time to do one and I am glad you guys are liking this story so far because I am having a ton of fun writing it and by the way there will be a Dragon ball z reference in this chapter but I will let you figure out where it is. Anyway that's enough from me let's keep this train rolling!

During the night...

Michelle tossed and turned in her sleep as she was trying to not think about her ex girlfriend while Ruby just held Michelle tighter and snuggled closer to her in hopes of trying to relax her girlfriend and help her get some sleep but she could hear her girlfriend mumble in her sleep, "Mmm...no...I will get my revenge on whoever did this to you..."

Michelle came back home and was horrified when she went into her bedroom and saw her girlfriend pinned to the wall with her throat sliced open and she found a note on the ground and angrily scrunched it in her hands as she said to herself, "I swear when I find the person responsible for this...I will make them pay...with their life!"

Before she then started packing her things and set out to look for the person responsible for the murder of her girlfriend and left her pinned to her bedroom wall for her to see as some kind of sick and cruel message towards her.

The next day...

When Michelle woke up the next morning she looked around the room of their hotel before she let out a deep sigh as she thought to herself, "I have to stop having these bad memories when I sleep, maybe I should talk to Ruby about it when she wakes up and see what she thinks but for now a nice shower might help me forget about that bad memory I had last night." Before she then slowly crawled out from the bed being careful not to disturb Ruby as she made her way to the bathroom to take a shower.

Ruby then slowly stirred from her sleep as she yawned and stretched before she heard some water running in the bathroom as she thought to herself, "Michelle is probably having a shower before we try and see if we can find any leads as to where Cinder might be hiding after we found nothing yesterday, still...maybe I should talk to Michelle as she looked like she was having a bad dream last night but I won't push it if she doesn't want to talk about it." Before she then got out of bed and got changed into some fresh clothes.

Michelle then came back from the shower and was drying her hair when Ruby smiled slightly as she said, "Morning Michelle, did...did you manage to sleep well last night? You were mumbling in your sleep." And Michelle frowned a little as she replied,

"Oh...that was actually something I wanted to talk to you about Ruby, because last night I...I had a bad dream about what happened to my ex girlfriend and I...I couldn't sleep well."

And Ruby walked over to her girlfriend and wrapped her arms around her in a hug and leaned her head against her chest as she said, "we all have bad dreams sometimes Michelle, and...I tried my best to help comfort you last night." Before she looked up at her girlfriend and tried to kiss her on lips as she continued, "But I want you to know that I am always here for you no matter what, and...umm I'm glad you wanted to talk to me about it because then I could try and help you as best I can."

Then Michelle leaned down and gave Ruby a kiss on her forehead as she replied, "Thank you Ruby that...that means so much to me, but I think we should get some breakfast first." Before she then went into her backpack and pulled out a couple of empty ice cream cones and Ruby looked at little confused as she said,

"We're having ice cream cones for breakfast?"

Before Michelle then giggled a little as she replied, "Well...not exactly Ruby, as I learned something new I could do with my power as the Winter Maiden just watch this." And Michelle held the cones in the hands as her grey eyes glowed blue for a moment before they then went back to normal and Michelle was now holding two cookie dough ice creams in hands and Ruby was in awe before she said,

"Wow...that's so cool, I can't wait to tell Yang and the others when we get back from our mission Michelle."

Then Michelle handed one of the ice creams to Ruby as they sat down on their bed together and shared their ice creams with each other before Michelle's scroll then buzzed with a message from Neo so she picked up her scroll from the dresser as she read the message which said "I know where Cinder is hiding. As I remembered something, meet me and Ember by the cafe across from the hotel."

Meanwhile...

Ember was busy getting dressed when she turned to Neo and smiled as she said, "You know Neo that was pretty sneaky of you to tell your old boss Cinder that Michelle and Ruby aren't together when in reality they are still together." And Neo just smiled at Ember before she wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to Ember which said "Thank you, Now come on I told Michelle and Ruby to meet us by the cafe across from the hotel." Before they both left their hotel room to meet Michelle and Ruby by the cafe.

When they got to the cafe they sat down and ordered some drinks while they waited for Michelle and Ruby to arrive which didn't take too long as Michelle and Ruby walked inside the cafe 20 minutes later and sat down at the table with Ember and Neo before Neo wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to Michelle as it said, "Thank you both for coming, as I said before I know where Cinder could be hiding as there is another hotel not far from the one we are staying at which we used when I was working for her."

And Michelle looked at Neo and smiled as she said to her, "That's great news, we should start there and maybe we might where Cinder is hiding now...if she has changed her location." And Ruby smiled as she said,

"Yeah, I agree with my girlfriend, we should check out that hotel you mentioned as that might give us a clue as to where she might be hiding now if...she isn't still using that hotel."

Ember then took a sip from her coffee and smiled as she replied, "Then it's settled then, but we shouldn't let our guard down just because the enemy might not be using that same hotel anymore as their hideout so what I am saying is...that we should be careful." Before they all then paid for the bill and left the cafe to check out the hotel that Neo mentioned.

However as they were all making their way towards the hotel Michelle placed her hand in front of Ruby as she stopped in her tracks as she said to everyone, "Wait! Something doesn't feel right." And Ruby placed her hand on her weapon and Ember did the same before they then heard a voice coming from a nearby alleyway it said in a menacing tone,

"I guess Ironwood's lapdogs were able to find me after all!"

Both Michelle and Ruby grit their teeth and tightened their grip in their hands into a fist as they replied, "Cinder!" while Neo and Ember just scowled at Cinder as she walked towards them from the alleyway and she made a fireball in her hand before she threw it at Michelle and Michelle quickly made an ice wall around her and Ruby protecting them from the attack and Michelle let out a sigh as she looked at Ruby as she said,

"Are you ok Ruby?"

Ruby then dusted off a few pieces of ice that were on her before she smiled at her girlfriend Michelle as she replied, "Yeah, I'm ok Michelle that was quick thinking with that ice wall of yours" and Michelle smiled back at Ruby before Ember then rushed at Cinder and swung her sword wildly which Cinder was able to dodge easily before she kicked Ember in her chest knocking her to the ground near Michelle and Ruby and Neo.

Then Michelle fired some ice balls at Cinder which Cinder countered with some fireballs turning the ice balls into steam while Ruby used her semblance and dashed at Cinder swinging crescent rose at her and Cinder was just barely able to get out of the way of her strikes as Ruby barely grazed the side of her face and scraping off a few strands of her hair before Cinder then kicked Ruby in her gut knocking her against the wall of the alleyway while Neo and Michelle charged towards her taking turns in attacking forcing Cinder to dodge and weave through their attacks.

Ember then got back to her feet and helped Ruby up to her feet as Cinder smiled as she taunted Michelle saying, "and here I was afraid of your power before, but I guess you must have gotten sloppy and rusty since our last encounter with each other." And Michelle went to reply but Ruby took the words out of her mouth as she said,

"Shut up, my girlfriend isn't the only one you should be afraid of Cinder!"

Hearing those words from Ruby's mouth angered Cinder as she glared at Neo and screamed, "YOU TRAITOR! YOU TOLD ME MICHELLE AND RUBY WEREN'T TOGETHER ANYMORE! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO TRUST A SUBORDINATE OF ROMAN'S!" and Neo simply shrugged her shoulders but glared back at Cinder with the mention of Roman's name before she charged at her and swung her parasol at her just narrowly avoiding her head as Cinder dodged before she threw Neo into a nearby wall.

But as she did so Cinder didn't see Ruby charging at her with crescent rose until the very last second as she turned around and slapped Ruby across her cheek with the back of her hand sending her towards the ground next to her and seeing this enraged Michelle as she charged at Cinder and screamed in anger, "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH...MY RUBY!" and threw punch after punch with her gauntlets at Cinder and Cinder struggled to dodge out of the way.

Ember and Neo looked on in shock before Ember thought to herself, "Damn, now I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of Michelle's wrath when someone hurts her girlfriend as it is like she is on a completely different level, I'm glad I decided to change my ways when I did as Michelle is kinda scary when she gets like this." Before Cinder then kicked Michelle in her gut knocking her back a little and creating some space between them before she made a flaming sword appear in her hands.

And Michelle created an frozen sword in her hands before the two charged at each other as their swords clashed making shockwaves around them as Michelle glared at Cinder in her eyes as their weapons were locked against each other as she said in anger, "I don't know how you survived being frozen last time but this time...I'll make sure to finish the job!" before they both pulled away before clashing again sending more shockwaves around them.

Dazed Ruby slowly made her way back up to her feet even if she did have to use crescent rose for support before she shook her head a couple of times as she saw Cinder and her girlfriend Michelle violently clashing their swords against each other as shockwaves rippled from them which threatened to take poor Ruby off her feet again they were that strong.

After Michelle and Cinder had clashed swords once more Cinder's sword shattered and as Michelle's ice sword was slowly coming down on her Cinder noticed Ruby was back on her feet out of the corner of her eye and smirked as she said, "Let's see if you are fast enough to save your precious Ruby from this!" as she launched a fragment of her sword towards Ruby and Michelle noticed the fragment barrelling towards Ruby out of the corner of her eye as she was bringing her sword down on Cinder.

Michelle then called back to Ruby, "Look out!" as she brought her sword crashing down into Cinder's shoulder causing her aura to glow before Michelle then tried to run towards Ruby and the incoming fragment but Ember knew Michelle wasn't going to make it in time so she stood in front of Ruby and held her sword up to try and block the fragment but somehow the fragment magically split apart around Ember's sword before coming together again as it pierced Ruby in her stomach and she collapsed to the ground.

Cinder laughed slightly while laying on the ground as Michelle immediately rushed to Ruby's side and Ember looked concerned as she said to Michelle, "This is bad...I should have blocked that fragment but it somehow curved around my sword and went straight into Ruby, I'm so sorry Michelle." And Michelle looked at Ember before she looked back at Ruby as she replied in a slight panic,

"I-It's ok Ember, you tried your best to protect Ruby...I-I just hope she is going to be ok."

Ruby then weakly looked at her girlfriend and coughed up a little blood as she said weakly, "I-It hurts so much Michelle...I'm sorry I couldn't get out of the way in time." and Michelle had a few tears in her eyes as she held Ruby's hand in her own as she said,

"You're gonna be ok Ruby my little rose petal I-I promise, J-just try not to speak and save your strength."

Before Ember said to Michelle in a panic, "We're losing her, we have to hurry Michelle!" and Michelle removed the fragment from her girlfriend's stomach which caused her to scream a little in pain as blood poured out from the wound and Michelle then ripped a piece of her black tank top off and wrapped it around the wound to try and stop some of the bleeding as she panicked and said,

"No no no...you stay with me you hear me Ruby...I refuse to let you die and leave me all alone, I swear if you die because of Cinder I will personally kill her myself!"

Ember then ripped the sleeve off her kimono and wrapped it around Ruby's wound where Michelle had wrapped a piece of her top around it before she placed a hand on Michelle's shoulder as she tried to comfort her as she said, "This won't do...but it will at least keep Ruby stable for now, you should head back to Atlas Academy where she can get proper medical treatment...she's going to be ok Michelle I promise and me and Neo will track Cinder down."

Michelle then looked at Ember with tears in her eyes before she looked back at Ruby as the tears started flowing from her eyes as she replied, "You're right Ember, as much as I want to help you and Neo go after Cinder...Ruby is gonna need me to look after her, so I will take her back to Atlas Academy and contact Winter but promise me one thing."

Neo then looked a little sad as she wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to Ember as she read it out loud so Michelle could hear as it read, "Of course, what is it you want us to promise you Michelle?" and Michelle wiped some of the tears from her eyes as she replied,

"Promise me that if you two find Cinder...contact me on my scroll with her location, I don't normally hold grudges against people but...Cinder just made this personal!"

Before Michelle then lifted Ruby up in her arms bridal style as she carried her back to the airship headed back towards Atlas.

At Atlas Academy...

Yang was sitting in her dorm room next to Blake when she said, "Do you think Michelle and my little sis are gonna be ok? I know they said they were going on another romantic day out together but I just can't help but think they might be in trouble." And Blake smiled at her girlfriend as she replied, "Yang, if Ruby and Michelle were in trouble they would have contacted us by now so I am sure they are having a wonderful time together."

Weiss then heard her sister running towards the entrance with some soldiers as she said, "Hurry we have an emergency!" before she turned to the others and said,

"Guys, that...doesn't sound good, we should check it out."

And Nora nodded in agreement as she said, "Come on people, let's move." Before she grabbed Ren's hand and rushed out of the room while Yang and the others soon followed after them and Yang said,

"What do you think is going on?"

When they got outside they saw the airship landing and Yang and the others saw Michelle holding Ruby bridal style before she handed her over to Winter who had some medical soldiers with her before Michelle said to her with tears in her eyes, "Contact me if she wakes up." And Winter embraced Michelle in a hug as she replied,

"Of course Michelle, you will be the first to know if Ruby wakes up I promise." Before Winter then turned to the medical soldiers with her and said, "Take her to the infirmary immediately, that's an order!" and the soldiers nodded their heads as they took Ruby to the infirmary.

Yang then had a mixture of anger and worry on her face as she looked at Michelle and tried to sound calm as she said, "What the hell happened out there?" and both Weiss and Blake could see on Michelle's face she was a mixture of emotions before Weiss said to Yang calmly,

"Yang...maybe we should give Michelle some space for now as she looks like she isn't in the mood to talk to anyone."

Before Michelle stood there and tried to sound calm as possible as she simply said to the others, "I'm gonna go to the training room for a bit." Before she walked past them towards the training room and Jaune stood there next to the others as he said,

"Poor Michelle...whatever happened out there must have affected her because it could just be me but Michelle had a look of both anger and sadness in her eyes." And Ren smiled as he replied,

"Yeah...I noticed that too Jaune, I think for now we should give Michelle some space and she will talk to us when she feels ready." Before everyone then noticed the visible look of anger on Qrow's face as he just simply said to the others,

"We should leave Michelle be for now...I'm gonna have a word of General Ironwood." As he stormed off and Weiss stood there and said to the others,

"Listen, I know it might not be a very good idea but...I'm going to go and check on Michelle as she might want to talk to me alone." Before she then started to make her way to the training room.

Inside the training room...

Michelle's P.O.V

I was so angry with what Cinder did to my Ruby I decided to take my anger out on some training dummies so I started the program and as the dummies appeared I immediately used my Maiden power as I threw ice balls at them before I then punched some of the dummies that were frozen as they shattered before I then sent a wave of ice spikes at some more dummies that came towards me.

And while I was busy destroying wave after wave of training dummies I saw Weiss entering the room as she said to me, "Hey Michelle, are...are you ok?" as she looked around at the bits of training dummies scattered around the room and I sighed as I replied,

"I'm fine Weiss, why do you ask?"

Weiss then slowly walked towards me as she said, "Well...you seem a little not ok, do...do you want to talk to me?" as she winced expecting me to snap at her but some tears started streaming down my face as I tried my hardest not to cry as I replied,

"Ruby...Ruby means everything to me as she is my whole world, and she makes me so happy and...and I hope she will be ok because I...I don't want to lose her."

So Weiss ran over to me and held me tight in a hug as I cried on her and she just gently rocked me as she said comfortingly, "I know how much you and Ruby love each other Michelle and...and Atlas have the best medical facility available so Ruby will be getting the best treatment so...so just hang in there and everything will be ok I promise."

I wasn't sure how much time had passed but by the time my tears had stopped I noticed my scroll was buzzing so I took it out of my pocket and read the message from Winter as it said "Ruby is awake now Michelle, you may see her." Before I looked up at Weiss as she smiled at me and said, "Come on, let's go and see Ruby together."
