Pirates vs Ninja
A day passes without any trouble. But that was only because Garmadon kept his promise to Skales to turn him back into a snake.
It was a new day now and Garmadon was livid. All the snakes where idiots. None of them could come up with any good ideas to defeat the ninja. And all skales wanted was a way to get his revenge on the panther ninja.
He decided to go to his room and get away from them "Obviously messing with their relationship isn't going to work that easy." He grumbled as he remembered his snakes telling him about the two lovebird ninja on some kind of outing in Ninjago city, happy as ever.
"I'll just have to destroy them somehow. But how." He hit the wall and a secret compartment opened.
"Hugh, what's this." Garmadon looked inside and saw a punch of journals.
"Must of bean a collector or something." Garmadon frowned till he saw a journal with a pirate symbol on this.
"What's this." He opened it and read.
"Captain Soto's log, we have been searching for months on the fabled panther island. But so far nothing, there are legends of people…. Oh I know all that. But it seemed his crew at least stayed with him to the end. That's it, maybe instead of snakes I need pirates to help me deal with the ninja. I wish I could have captains Soto's crew now, before their demise." He raised the mega weapon and it glowed and then it stopped.
"Hugh what?" Garmadon looked shocked. Then a picture of a familiar ship came out.
"Wait the destiny's bounty, that means. Lloyd!" Garmadon jumped and ran out, but he was too week "Argh, the weapon. I'll just have to trust the stupid ninja this time." Garmadon growled as he now just had to wait for news.
With the ninja….
Zane was doing better in training. He was now able to take on his brother quite easily. Predicting their movements and using his ice or energy to fight back at the correct moments.
Soon he had his hyperactive brother all in a pile. "Okay we give." Kai groaned.
"No more." Jay added.
They heard clapping and laughing as they saw Maya come over "Nice work Icy, you'll have to face them with there true potential for on now for a true challenge."
"That is if I ever defeat Sensei." Zane takes off his mask.
They looked over to Wu who was instruction Lloyd how to move wind and "I did it! I did it! Looke guys look." He had gone from a gentle breeze to finally getting the paper plan to fly about.
"That's amazing kiddo." Cole said as they walked up.
"We're so proud." Maya smiled.
"You are truly becoming skilled Lloyd." Zane nodded.
"Yes good job nephew, you will be a true ninja in no time." Wu nod.
Lloyd smiled and then Wu looked to Zane saying "Zane try sparring with Maya. I think it's time you take on a new challenge. Pluss we cannot train with our true potential until we go to an unpopulated area."
"Of course Sensei, I am excited to see how this goes." Zane smiles at Maya.
"Oh this is going to be fun Icy." Maya smirks as she got in position as the other stand about to watch the show.
As the two took a fighting stance Maya moved at Zane he tried to use his ice immobilize her but she dodged to the side and kicked under his feet. She winked at him and then jumped away.
Zane shook his head and smiled as he got up to chase her. He then iced the floor, Maya slipped as Zane skated to her but she got on all fours and used her claws to scatter away. Zane missed but tried to fallow her.
Maya got off the ice and then grabbed a staff to throw at Zane. Zane dodged it as he got on his knees and slid towards her giving her the change to pounce on him the two roll on the ice. Zane's concentration was broken and the ice melted away.
But he was still able to hold Maya down, even if she struggled. "Do you surrender?" Zane asked smiling.
Maya glared then smirked, confusing Zane till she kissed him. This surprised him then she shoved him off and put him in a hold. "Do you surrender?"
"Maya wins." Wu sips his tea.
"No way she cheated." Kai crossed his arms.
"You're enemy will use any tactics to get an upper hand on you. Remember that. So there is truly no cheating in a fight." Wu explains.
Maya helps Zane who is still a bit dazed "That was quite unexpected."
Maya chuckled and said "Sorry Zane. Didn't know it shock you so much."
"It was unexpected, but I am not apposed to it. I guess I will have to get stronger to face you, perhaps we will have to use our true potential against each other soon." Zane raises a brow.
"That might be a while. I'm still getting used to mine and I rather not go all out till I have better control over it." Maya smiles.
"Agh are you two talking about training or flirting. Seriously I can never tell at times." Cole groans.
Wu chuckles and says "Ah to be young." He poured some tea to sip when suddenly he senses something.
Zane's head shot up as well "Sensei do you feel that."
"I do." Wu glares.
"What is it?" Maya sniffs about, but can't find anything.
"Danger." Zane glared.
That's when the pirates appeared. "What, what be going on. Last I remember we were sinking into the sea and now?"
"Captain intruders!" Called one of the pirates at the ninja.
"Capture them!" Soto pointed his sword at them.
The ninja all got ready to fight and used their elemental powers to fight off their enemies, they jumped and kicked and tripped their enemies but they just kept getting up.
Kai punched a pirate and asked "Why won't they stay down."
"They where brought back by the mega weapon. They are overcharged by it's power." Wu warns.
"So it looks like we can't hold back." Maya brought her claws out and roared.
"Sir a resident of panther island!" One pirate calls.
"It can't be." Soto looked shocked and then saw the necklace "The panther necklace. Take the girl."
The pirates surrounded Maya but she used spinjistue and her powers to fight them, still they got up like there wasn't' a scratch on them.
"Leave Maya alone." Lloyd rushed out and shot wind at the pirates. Manny fell but they got up and glared.
"Uh oh." He backed up but Maya used her full panther power to ram them down.
"Stay way form him." Maya growled.
The pirates stepped back at this afraid. "Captain….?" One asked.
"We haven't bean hurt yet. Look at that power, this can only mean one thing. She is the protector of panther island!" Soto shouts.
"The what?" Maya looks shocked.
Wu came in and started throwing down several pirates. "We have to retreat."
"But Sensei we can't let them take the ship." Kai called.
"We will get the hsip back but first we must find a way to defeat our enemy!" Wu calls as he makes a path.
The other didn't like this, but fallowed. On the way they grabbed Nya, who had been working on the samurai suite. They all hung on and flew out.
"What just happened?" Nya asked as they found themselves outside of town.
Wu explained his theory as the other felt upset for losing.
"I can't believe we lost to a bunch of pirates." Kai frowned.
"Technically they were unstoppable pirates. Nothing we did could hurt them, not even freezing them worked, they just broke through my ice." Zane looked down worried. 'What if I will never be strong enough to defeat Garmadon.'
"We'll find a way guys. We always do. There has to be something these guys are week against." Maya thinks.
"Maybe venge stone, if it could hold us back maybe it could hold them. They were brought back by the elemental weapons. Maybe that could stop them." Lloyd looked excited.
"It could work, but then we be powerless." Jay looked worried.
"We may not be able to use our elemental powers but they are of no use at this moment anyway and even without them we can still fight." Wu looked about.
They all cheered at this and Nya said "Okay I'll go get the venge stone, you guys make sure those pirates don't tear up ninjago city."
"Where counting on you sis." Kai smiles.
"Be safe Nya." Jay called.
Nya nodded and headed off.
"Come we must hurry." Wu nodded and they headed off, they would have to take a bus to get back but at least they got there in time to help stop the pirates from robbing a bank, a general store, and a candy store.
"Really?" Maya raised a brow.
"Hey that was my thing." Lloyd frowned.
They all looked at him surprised but he said "Sorry." He smiled sheepishly.
"Just remember what side you're on kid." Kai joked and they all put on their hood and headed in to fight.
They took on the pirates as best they could, getting them away from the civilians.
"Sir the ninja are back!" Called a pirate.
"Get the panther." Yelled Soto.
Maya jumped about and yelled "What does he want with me."
"The necklace attracted more then Garmadon's attention. Not only that it is believe that the necklace holds the map to panther island." Wu explained as he fights.
They all head up a building so they can get to the bounty.
"That would have been nice to know." Maya glared.
"Yes sensei I believe we all should have known of this." Zane also looked upset at Maya being in danger for this.
"It has only been known as a myth so far." Wu explains.
"They also called her the protector of panther island, what's with that?" Kai asked.
"Let me guess something I can't know yet?" Maya frowns.
Wu sighs but nods.
"We'll talk later, right now we need to stop those pirates." Jay pointed at them pointing canon balls at them.
"Not good." Cole said.
"We have to get up there." Maya looks on worried.
"I have and idea." Lloyd smiled and said "If you guys use spinjitsue maybe uncle and I can propel you all up there with our powers."
"Good job Lloyd now that's how a ninja thinks." Wu smiles.
"We're trusting you guys." Maya pats Lloyds head and they all jump up and spin, Wu and Lloyd blast the ninja to the bounty and as they got on, they destroyed the cannons.
"Yes!" They cheered and then headed in to try and distract them for as long as they could.
Suddenly though a heavy set of chains fell on top of them. "I can't move." Struggled Kai.
"What is this stuff." Cole grunted, head carried heavier things why didn't this budge.
"This net is used to take on the toughest monsters in the see. None of you can take it off." Soto laughed.
"How did we never see this?" Maya struggled.
"We made sure to store it in a secret compartment in me old quarters. Now for the necklace." Soto reached for it, but he was blasted back.
"Arrg. What was that?" Soto glared as he sat up.
"It can't be taken off." Maya glared.
"Then we'll just have to force it off." A pirate comes up with a sword.
Zane feels his powers flare but cant shoot at the pirate and he was just hurting everyone else. So he calmed down.
Soto yelled "No you fool are you crazy! We need her alive to find the island." He marched up at that.
"No I have an better idea. I've heard legends that the protector of panther island is treated no less then royalty. Perhaps a royal ransom can be made once we find the island." Soto chuckles staring at Maya.
They all glare in disgust as Maya says "Even if I knew how to find the island, I'd never let you do that."
"Spunky one isn't she. Okay so you went tell easily. What if we threatened your friends." Soto nodded and a pirate held a sword at Jay who yelled.
Maya gasped and said "But I don't know where the island is or how to use the necklace. I'm serous I don't know how." Maya looked on saddened.
"To bad for you friend." Soto smirks as he's about to give the signal but then Nya jumps down with the samura x suite and throws them away.
"Leave them alone!" Nay then took the chain net off.
Jay jumped at that "Oh thank you Nya I love you." He covered his mouth at this as Kai glared but Nya smiled and said "Ah Jay that's so sweet."
"Flirt later fight now!" Cole shouted.
"Right!" Nya called as she gave them all the venge stone and they got to work. They used their spinjituse, leaped and even roped the pirates up in venge stone.
Soto struggled as he said "What trickery be this."
"Your knew chains." Kai smirks.
"Let's get them to ninjago police. They can deal with them for the rest." Nya reminded.
They all nodded and while some guarded the pirates, Jay went to pilot the ship.
As they flew though Maya marched up to Soto "What is panther island."
"Maya?" Zane looked shocked.
"No Zane, Jay was almost killed because Sensei kept all these secrets. It's time I know the truth." Maya looked up upset.
"So you really didn't know then lass. Well who am I to keep the truth from ye." Soto smirks and starts "Panther island, and island of people with the power of the panther. Nothing like what I've seen with you lass but still. They are strong people who can use claws and fangs. Their city is made of stone but decorated in jewels. The land is a jungle that is both dangerous and powerful. And it is said the panther necklace is the key to finding it. Not only that but the one to hold it is the protector of this land and is treated like royalty. It is also said that she is never supposed to leave panther island, so you being out here, well that's quite unexpected." Soto started laughing but Cole knocked him out.
"I'm really tired of this guy." Cole huffed crossing his arms.
Maya looked on shocked at the information Soto told them, as did the others.
"Maya are you okay." Zane held her hand.
May snuggled into Zane and asked "Why didn't he tell me this. What does this all mean now. Do I have to go to this panther island. I don't' want to leave you all."
"Hey that's not happening. I'm sure Sensei had his reasons. We'll talk to him when we get back." Kai tried to help.
"Yeah we will and this time he has to tell us everything." Maya glared, she would not allow herself to be lied to anymore.
Later…..
After the pirates where in jail and they got Lloyd and Wu back on the ship Wu said "Congratulations ninja and Nya. You have all done a great job."
But they all just looked on with frowns or worried expressions.
"Is something the matter students?" Wu asked worried.
"Nya could you take Lloyd out, he shouldn't be here for this." Maya frowns.
"Come on Lloyd, I'll explain in your room." Nya frowns as she takes the confused boy away.
"Maya what is…..?" Wu starts.
"You lied to me, to all of us. What did you think was gong to happen when we found out the truth." Maya glared with tears in her eyes.
Wu looked on surprised and confused on what she meant.
"Soto told us everything Sensei. About panther island, what it's like, the dangers, the power, how the protector cannot leave the land, and how Maya is the protector." Zane looked on somewhat betrayed.
"Yes, that is all true." Wu sighed.
"Why didn't you tell us, or at least Maya, she deserved to know the truth Sensei." Kai glares slightly.
"We didn't want to make her worry on something that might not happen." Wu frowns.
"What do you mean?" Jay raised a brow.
Wu sighed and said "Long ago there was a war between Ninjago and an army of stone warrior created by a traitor from panther island. My father tried to fight them off but he could not do it by himself, that is when my mother came to help, the two forged the weapons with the help of her necklace and together they defeated the army and closed them up forever."
"Before this Panther island and Ninjago had kept separated from each other, untrusting of the other intentions. But my father and mother fell in love and seeing that their most powerful warriors where together the people agreed on peace if the two married." Wu smiled at the old story then frowned.
"They did so and the lands stayed at peace. Until my brother was bitten by the snake and as his evil side took more and more over the people of Panther island became more distrustful especially after he tried to steal the necklace the first time. They cut off bonds with us, they would not start war, but they would not allow another protector to be placed under our care." Wu ended this with a far off sad look.
"And that is why I have never told you." Wu looked at them.
Maya looked on stricken "Why would you saw I had nothing to worry about. What if the people of panther island come for me. I won't leave ninjago, my family, my love." Maya looked at Zane sadly as he held her tight.
"Do you remember your first teacher?" Wu asked.
"Misako, yes?" Maya looked confused.
"She was a resident of panther island till she married someone from Ninjago….." Wu started.
"Garmadons wife. Lloyds mother." Maya gasped as did the others.
"Please do not tell him." Wu begs.
"Sensei you can't keep secrets like this." Kai glared.
"I will tell him, I promise. But let me finish what I have to say. Misako was going to be the next protector, but she did not pass the trial of the temple. Garmadon was angry with this and he tried to steel it which caused the problem. But after losing her husband and seeing what danger her child was in, she decided to find a cure for her husband and a way to keep you from being trapped. She knew the necklace needed to find a new partner but that keeping you trapped would be unfair. I suspect my mother told Misako her plan and what was to come. That is why I did not wish to tell you. Because if I know she is trying to help you." Wu looked on sadly.
"I still had the right to know this. It was something that's part of me ever since your mother gave me her powers and the choice to find the green ninja. How will they react seeing me with Zane?" Maya looks on worried.
"I said before that this would be good. In a way you two are bonded by this. And the panther people do not disrespect these bonds, and seeing that a chance to make a new treaty is possible might placate them and possible make another treaty of peace." Wu looked on with hope.
"And if Zane had not bean the green ninja, what would have happened then. And there's still no guarantee." Maya glares.
"Sensei, I apologize for this, but I a am disappointed in you. Maya could be in more danger then we ever thought and now we find might be ninjagos only hope for peace with another land. I believe this is something we had a right to know." Zane looked on upset, even with his calm voice.
The other agreed while nodding their heads.
Wu looked down saddened, then "NO!" Lloyd rushed in and hugged Maya "I don't want you to go away. Maya don't leave." Lloyd cried.
Maya held him tight she was angry at Wu but she didn't want to upset Lloyd "We'll do whatever we can to make sure I stay Lloyd. I have my family here, and my friend. I'm not going without a fight."
"And we're not letting you go without one either." Nya smiles as she walks in.
"We'll do our best to do this peacefully Sensei but if they want Maya they'll have to go though all of us." Cole proclaimed.
They all cheered at this and agreed. Maya was really touched by this, so happy to know she would not be taken easily. And she would not go easily either.
Wu looked on with a melancholy look. 'If only it where that easy.' Wu thought.
On Panther island…..
Inside a palace chamber with many seats at a round table a man said "She has found her true potential and the green ninja. What more do we need to wait for?"
Manny agreed but Misako spoke up "Garmadon is still there and she will be needed to help defeat him."
"I thought that was you're green ninjas job." Huffs the man.
"It would be hard for him to do such a thing with a broken heart." Misako frowns.
Everyone gasped and whispered "You mean it's happened again." The man frowns.
"Yes." Misako then told them of Wu's mothers plan.
An elder chuckled "She was always a smart one. Of course she try to plan ahead."
"We also must consider that the girl is of the land of ninjago not of the panther land." Another spoke up.
"And yet she is worthy to bare the necklace. Why should we let our protector be put in their danger." The man huffed.
Misako glared and said "Because technically the great devourer came from your land."
The people all looked down in shame at that. "We did not make it, it wandered into the caves and…."
"Which where not protected and a horrible creature was made. That is why Ninjago was put in danger, why I lost my husband and why our treaty is broken. Please let her help them. It is the least you can let her do, try to understand that that place is her home and she is in love. She is bonded. You all don't take that lightly do you." Misako tried to plea.
"It was only because Tana took things into her own hands. How can we sure the bond is true." Someone asks.
"You can test it. In fact it's been tested many times. And it will keep getting tested. Then you'll see it's true." Misako frowns.
The all looked at each other pondering. "Fine we'll give it time. But after Garmadon is defeated. We will test this bond." The man crosses his arms.
"I look forward to it." Misako glares as she walks off.
