After collecting the belongings that had accumulated at the hospital Leo had helped Rowan into a wheelchair and pushed her down to the parking lot and to his car. Her stitches hurt like a son of a bitch, she could not wait to feel like herself again after coming so close to death. Every movement that she made pulled at her stitches, Leo helped her up from the chair, holding out his hands for Rowan to take. He slowly helped her stand from the seat, she grimaced in pain as she tried hard not to cry out, Leo was patient and didn't rush her to get up.

'Take it easy' he warns her 'Take your time'

'I know, I know'

Her feet are wobbly after spending so much time lying in the hospital bed, Leo stood firm not going anywhere and held onto her hands as she finally stood. He watched her carefully as she shuffled into the front passenger seat, he stitched pulled once again as she settled into the seat.

'You good?'

'I think so, just my stitches'

'I'm gonna take this chair back, i'll be right back'

'Okay' she answers quietly as Leo closes the car door, she watches from the window as his figure disappears back into the hospital. Rowan looks around the car briefly as shwe notes how tidy and neat it is, not even a single wrapper or coffee cup on the floor. She sighs to herself wondering whether Leo's offer was a good idea, she still barely knew him. He had been visiting her for some time, they had talked about things but was worried that she was making a big mistake. That she should have asked him to drive her to get a bus or a train back to Nevada, she also felt bad that she was encroaching in his home.

Rowan had only been waiting a few minutes for Leo to return, opening the driver's door he quickly climbed inside the car before smiling back at Rowan. He starts the engine and drives them away and into the bright daylight outside. The light shone brightly causing Rowan to close her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath she opened them once again allowing them to adjust to the light.

She smiles as she looks out the car window, feeling grateful to see another day, she rolls down the window and allows the warm breeze allowing it to blow through her hair,

'You okay?' Leo asks as he looks over to Rowan, he notices the small smile on her face.

'Better now i'm out of that place' Leo chuckles 'Are you sure it's okay to crash at your place?'

'Yeah, I asked you to remember? It's fine. Stay as long as you need, at least until you're back on your feet'

'I really appreciate it Leo, I just hope I have a job to go back to when I get better'

'It'll work itself out' he tells her.

'I hope so, I just want to get my shit back on track you know'

Rowan looks back over to Leo as he focuses on the road ahead of him.

'I understand. I do, we'll get you back to my place, rest up and get better. Then go from there, we can get some of your things that Eva has collected for you when you're settled'

'Thanks, I promise I won't get in your way and as soon as I can I will start looking for a new place'

'Like I said stay as long as you need, I'm not going to kick you out. I owe you'

'You don't owe me anything Leo' she tells him, he quickly turns to face her before looking back at the road.

'You saved my life'

'And you saved mine, when those guys dragged us out of our building and into the street. You saved our lives when you could have just left us and drove away. But you didn't, I saved yours and now we're even'

Rowan gently places her hand down onto his knee, Leo takes her hand and raises it to his lips and presses a soft kiss to her knuckles causing her to smile. He holds onto her hand as he continues to drive and sit in comfortable silence. It didn't take long when they reached a large grey apartment building, a few people loitered on the streets as Leo brought the car to a stop. Rowan looked out of the window as she took in the new building, she hadn't been to this part of the city before, it looked nicer than the place she lived in before.

'We're here' he informs her as he turns off from the engine and unclips his seatbelt, Rowan doesn't answer him and instead continues to look out the window. Leo opens his door and climbs out before closing the door behind him with a slam, making Rowan jump in her seat. Leo rushes to the trunk of the car to remove Rowan's bag of belongings. Rowan opens the car door, slowly turning to get ready to climb 'Hey! You okay?'

'Yeah, I think so'

'Let me help you'

'You done too much already' she tells intent on getting out of the car herself.

'I don't care, give me your hands'

Leo dropped the bag to the floor and again held his hands for her to take, she rolled her eyes and sighs knowing that he only wanted to help her. Taking his hands, Rowan carefully gets out of the car and onto her feet.

'You good?' he asks her, Rowan nods, Leo closes the car door for her and again picks up her bag from the sidewalk 'Come let's head inside, I'm gonna take care of you, I promise'
