Cinnamon Rolling (Down the Stairs)
(Note: Slight blood warning)
Shadow Freddy watched the others, thinking.
Shadow Bonnie floated down, filing her claws.
"Fred, ya've been at this fer days. Can we beat 'em up or what?"
The two were concealed within the shadows of the house, the Nightmares completely oblivious to their presence.
"Patience, Bonnie." He replied, rubbing his chin. "We must make our introductions perfect. That, and we need to be wary of their strengths. And pinpoint their weaknesses."
She snorted, continuing to float; she leaned onto her back.
"Well, ya have fun with that, I'm gonna go terrorize some white rabbits or somethin'."
With that, she dissipated into the shadows, melting away.
After she left, Shadow Freddy sighed.
*She's getting impatient. So am I, come to think of it.*
He looked back out, scanning the inhabitants of the kitchen.
*Hmm...*
His gaze drifted around, before landing on...
Fredbear.
The little bear was chewing on a pancake, tearing off a chunk with his teeth.
Shadow Freddy thought for a moment...
Then gave a sinister grin.
*Perfect.*
The Shadows--once again concealed in the literal shadows--followed along behind Fredbear, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
"He's fuckin' puny," Shadow Bonnie snarked. "I could kick 'im and 'e'd probably die."
"He seems rather resilient, as he had to be bandaged quite a bit when I first saw them." Shadow Freddy countered.
"...I'm gonna kick 'im and see what happens."
However, he stopped her.
"We need to wait, and cause some damage from behind the scenes first. I want to see something."
She raised a brow.
"Which is...?"
"You'll see," He replied.
Fredbear's ears twitched, and he looked around.
Frowning a little, he kept walking.
The Shadow bear noticed this.
*Can he hear us...?*
He shook his head, banishing the thought from his mind.
The duo continued to follow him, until the purple bear found the perfect opportunity.
"Bonnie, look. The staircase."
She looked at him questioningly, before an evil grin spread across her face.
"Oh...?"
He grinned as well, nodding.
His hand glowed, and a small purple tendril jumped out of the ground, tripping Fredbear.
He grunted a little, pushing himself back up; he wasn't too close to the staircase yet.
He walked again, only to trip once more.
He stood back up, golden ears folding down.
*That's weird...I wasn't trippin' earlier...*
Nervously, he continued.
When he came to the top of the staircase, he paused.
It wasn't overly-incredibly long, but was long enough to make a good distance down.
He stepped back.
Shadow Freddy gave a sinister grin at Shadow Bonnie--who returned it--before leaning out of the shadows.
He reached his hands back, and shoved the smaller bear as hard as he could.
Nightmare jumped a little at the sounds of tumbling.
He'd been reading a book in his room; he set it to the side and stood up, heading for his door.
Opening it, his ears perked at the sounds of crying.
*What happened...?*
He picked up the pace, running to the sounds.
What he found sent a feeling of dread into his stomach.
"Fredbear!!"He shouted, sprinting to his brother.
The little bear was curled up in a heap, sobbing; he was covered in bruises, and a couple scrapes and scratches.
Nightmare scooped him up into his arms, cradling him as gently as he could.
"Fredbear, it's okay...it's okay...I'm here...you're gonna be okay..."
He sat down, criss-crossing his legs and allowing Fredbear to sit on his lap, hugging him to his chest gently.
The younger bear continued to cry, clutching to him.
Nightmare began to rub circles into his back, continuing to try and comfort him.
He felt liquid hit his coat, and almost passed it off as Fredbear's tears...until, he realized, that they were uneven with his tears and came from a much lower spot.
Worry clutching him once more, he gently carressed the back of Fredbear's head.
"Fredbear? Can you look at me...? Please...?"
The shaking child lifted his head, revealing Nightmare's fears as true.
Blood trickled down from Fredbear's mouth, one of his teeth dislodged.
Nightmare's eyes widened.
*Oh crud...this is bad...*
He gently pushed himself up, cradling Fredbear.
"It's gonna be okay, Fredbear. I promise. You'll be okay..."
With that, he sprinted away, clutching the golden bundle to his chest.
The children were gathered in the Library once more, all fawning over Fredbear and trying to help as best they could.
Mangle supplied a hankercheif, and whilst Nightmare comforted Fredbear, she wiped away and kept the blood at bay.
Freddy, hurriedly flipping through books on animal anatomy, confusedly scratched the side of his head.
"It says that some animals lose their teeth, but I have not found anything about--"
"Yeah, that's not how it works for us."
All heads turned to BB, who looked back at them.
He sighed.
"Everybody feel your teeth. Well, uh, you don't have to, Fredbear."
The others confusedly obeyed.
"Does that feel like just bone?"
That gained murmurs.
And more confusion.
"Phwell phasit shpusossa bfe?" Jack-o-Bonnie asked, entire hand shoved in her mouth.
"Feels...mettalic, kinda." Her sister offered, being wise and only rubbing the outside.
"Yeah, 'cause it's bone and metal."
That made them pause, staring at him.
The wolf shrugged.
"I mean, it's kinda obvious we're, like, half-metal. Our bones are like, half spine, half endesk--exo--enda--"
He bit his paw, thinking.
"Endoskeleton?" Freddy offered up.
BB snapped his 'fingers'.
"Yeah, that's it. Endoskeleton. So, like, we have endospines, I guess? Half and half. But, like, some of us have obvious metal body parts--like, Foxy, for example. Your legs are metal, right?"
Foxy nodded, pulling up a pant leg.
Starting at his knee, his flesh melded into metal, stretching all the way down into the claws on his toes.
BB continued.
"Yeah, so, there's stuff like that. Or, like, our claws. They're part claw, part metal. It's kinda weird..."
That made everyone look at their claws.
"This is weird..." Chica murmured.
"Yeah. But, uh, my point is, that tooth's not gonna regrow. And, uh, that blood's not gonna stop, either."
That made their heads snap up to him once more; Nightmare's was so quick you could hear his neck crack.
The jet-black bear's pupil's dilated.
"So you're saying..."
BB looked away, feeling a little nervous under the elder's gaze.
"We have to put it back in?!"
Fredbear winced at the loud noise.
Nightmare gently stroked his head.
"Sorry, Fredbear..."
He looked back at the wolf, who sighed.
"...Yeah, that's exactly what I'm sayin'."
Silence reigned for a second...
"Well fuck."
A loud *SMACK* from Jack-o-Chica echoed in the room, Jack-o-Bonnie rubbing the back of her head in annoyance.
Nightmare's eye twitched, but he remained silent, having covered Fredbear's ears prematurely.
"Seriously though, how d'we do that?" Bonnie asked, scratching the side of his head.
Nightmare thought, then spoke up.
"Before anybody suggests it, we are not just shoving it back in there."
Believe it or not, some of them actually closed their mouths.
Nightmarionne nervously fiddled with its claws.
"M-Maybe w-we h-have h-healing p-powers...?"
That gained attention from the rest.
It looked down, rubbing its arm.
"I-I m-mean...w-we h-healed k-kind of f-fast af-f-fter the f-forest...a-and...w-well..."
They began thinking.
"Mari does have a point," Mangle piped up.
Nightmare looked at the nervous puppet again.
"...Can you try?"
That sentence made it jump.
"Wh-What?"
Nightmare rubbed the back of his head.
"Well, you do have a point...and, well...we're kinda desperate here..."
Nightmarionne looked at its claws.
"W-Well...I c-can't u-use m-my p-powers y-yet...I-I d-don't..."
It's white pupils seemed to glaze over.
"...th-think..."
It stayed like that for a moment, much to the confusion of the others.
Foxy gave it a gentle nudge.
"Marion...? Ye alright...?"
After a moment, it snapped back to reality, jumping slightly.
"S-Sorry...wh-what w-was I s-saying...?"
Something tapped Nightmarionne's shoulder, prompting it to turn around.
It found itself in a calm void of purple; however, the colours would randomly swirl or twitch.
Frowning, it turned around to speak to the others, but found that the void consumed all.
It floated backwards...right into what had tapped it in the first place.
A deep violet puppet stared back at it, looking...slightly unamused.
The 'other' puppet grabbed Nightmarionne's wrist, holding it up; the latter fidgeted slightly, confused.
The violet puppet flicked its claws, sending some sort of electric jolt down Nightmarionne's spine.
It tried to speak, but was shushed by its doppelganger.
Said doppelganger frowned, doing another claw examination.
Seemingly dissatisfied, Nightmarionne's claw was dropped.
The confused Nightmare became even more so when the void sucked back, everything vanishing as quickly as it had came.
Nightmarionne glanced at its claws again.
A faint, almost unnoticeable purple aura sparked around them.
It glanced at Fredbear, who was still sniffling and whimpering In Nightmare's arms.
"...I-I'll t-try..."
Purple electricity cackled, finishing the seal.
Fredbear's mouth, while still a little bloody and sore, was healed again.
Nightmarionne withdrew its claws, eye sockets wide.
Silence reigned, until...
"Holy shit, that worked?"
The firey chicken smacked her sister over the back of the head.
"Ack!" The bunny snapped, rubbing it. "I'm just sayin'!! That was, like, a total gambit!!"
"She has a point." Freddy conceded, dumbfounded.
Nightmarionne found itself in a bone-crushing hug from Nightmare, who inhaled deeply, seemingly trying not to cry.
"Thank you."
He inhaled shakily.
"I don't know how you did that, but thank you..."
Nightmarionne managed to move an arm around, patting him on the back.
It wasn't all that sure how it happened either, but it was more than glad that it did.
Nightmare tucked Fredbear into bed, gently stroking his ears.
He kissed him on the forehead, starting to leave; however, a tired golden hand on his stopped him.
"...Stay..."
Fredbear's tired voice was more than enough incentive for the older bear.
He gently climbed into the bed again, holding Fredbear close.
*Protect him...*
The two began to drift off, unaware of the pure white eyes in the shadows.
Shadow Freddy grinned.
You can thank/blame SmilesForeverHappy for the title, I was stuck and couldn't think of one.
So!
The first incident has occurred; if anybody remembers from the original, more are coming...
Also, we've hit the last of the already-written chappies! Now y'all have no choice but to wait on me!!
Dear God, I'm so sorry.
Now, in regards to regular updates:
My goal is weekly updates at the very least. I don't have a set day, so sorry.
Although, be warned, between this quarantine mess and my motivational blocks I just...haven't been writing as well lately.
But, never fear! I'm getting my groove back, so we should be good.
So, all that being said:
Stay safe, and see ya next chappie!!
