"Emma, I'm proud that you are taking care of yourself. Baby Mia is as healthy as expected. Keep it up and you will get to meet her in the two and a half weeks!" Dr. Whale prided to Emma as he prepared for Regina. "Now, since you are in your last week, give or take, you need to double up on what you're doing. I'm going to put strict guidelines on you so that you will have a healthy and fast delivery." Emma smiled, "she really will be here in two weeks?" Dr. Whale nodded, "yes. I added a half because she may stay until then, but I'm putting my money in the middle of the second week." Emma is all smiles as she gathers her belongings and goes out to the lobby to call Regina. "Thank you, Dr. Whale! See you in two weeks, hopefully!" Emma heads out of the room and into the lobby where she sees Regina waiting. "In two weeks, baby Mia should be here!" Emma said as she smiled at Regina. "Really?" Regina asked with a glowing smile. "I can't wait to meet her!" She said as she got up and headed to the back for her checkup. The nurse takes Regina to a room where she records her vitals. She updates Regina's information and leaves to call for Dr. Whale. "Dr. Whale will be with you shortly, Mrs. Hood," the nurse smiled, "thank you," Regina said. As soon as the nurse shuts the door, seconds later it opens again and Dr. Whale walks in, "Regina! How are we feeling today?" With a smile, Regina says, "so far so good! I've been trying to keep active and trying to follow your rules."
"Excellent. Have you and Robin thought of a name yet?" Dr. Whale asked as he wrote down some notes.
"Not yet," Regina uttered.
"Well, I'm sure you'll come up with one."
"I hope so. Robin named Riley so he may end up picking this one too. Who knows, maybe when I see her, I'll come up with one."
"Well, you better think of one quick because it looks like your baby girl will be here in the next week and a half! You and Emma may deliver the same week give or take a day!"
"Really?" Regina asked with a wide smile. Dr. Whale matches her smile, "yes! Your baby girl is growing faster than normal so I wouldn't be surprised if you deliver first even though you and Emma are a week apart now." Dr. Whale takes some last notes before releasing Regina. "Thank you, Dr. Whale, see you soon, hopefully!"
"Dad! It's good to see you again!" Henry said as he went up to Killian to greet him. David follows with a hug and handshake, "glad to have you back, son."
"It's good to be back! Emma still doesn't know does she?" Killian asked.
"No. Tinkerbell is at home getting the nursery together. They're at their appointment with Dr. Whale and mom knows not to go home because she has no reason to so she has no clue." Henry explained.
"Regina and Emma are completely in the dark. We've been keeping it tight lip, I'm very proud of Snow," David chuckled, "Robin will be here in an hour. He called me this morning." Killian smiles, "did you get everything on the registry that I set up for Emma?"
"Yep! Crib, changing table, car seat, stroller, and even the rocking chair she raved about," David said with glee. As David drives up to Emma and Killian's house, Killian's phone starts to ring, "it's Emma!" He gestures for David and Henry to keep quiet. "Hi, love. No, I'm going to the next site to check on my other trainee. Can I call you back later? Okay, then. I love you." Killian hangs up the phone and breathes a sigh of relief. Henry leans in from the back seat, "you know mom can sense when you're lying, right dad?"
"Yeah, well, let's hope that she doesn't figure this out." They make their way inside where Ruby, Tinkerbell, Anna, Elsa, and Belle are scrambling around the house to make sure that everything is in order. Snow started on the nursery the day Killian went off to Boston and when Emma temporarily moved in with Regina.
"Hey, Killian!" Belle greeted, "I'm so glad you could make it! Let me show you what we've done!" Belle leads Killian upstairs to a closed room. "Now, please tell me what you think and if we need to change anything, just let us know and we will change or rearrange it!"
"Okay, everyone! Things are looking perfect! This shower looks like it's going to go off without any problems!" Snow has allowed her enthusiasm to take control and has turned Regina's living room into a pink, gold, and silver whimsical fairyland. A sign that reads "Welcome Baby Jones" on one end of the living room and a sign that reads "Welcome Baby Hood" on the other. Both gift tables are flooded with fresh and new baby essentials for the new bundles of joy and everyone is scrambling to add some finishing touches. The surprise shower is 3 hours away and the new task of keeping Regina and Emma at bay has been the task of the day.
As soon as Tinkerbell gave the signal after leaving Regina's house, Snow and crew entered from the back yard through the back of the house. They've been spending the first 30 minutes after Emma and Regina left to quickly decorate and set up their surprise shower. The doorbell rings and Tinkerbell, Ruby, Belle, Anna, and Elsa have their hands full with balloons, additional decorations, food, and beverages. They finished the nursery early and after Killian's approval scurried to the stores and picked up their preorders. Snow greets them with a wide smile and helps them put everything into place. As everyone is scurrying about putting finishing touches, a phone rings and it's Tinkerbells. She sees that it says "Regina" on the caller ID.
"Everyone! Hush! It's from Regina! Hello?"
"Hi Tinkerbell, We're on our way home. Did you need us to pick up anything before we go home?"
"Uhh…you're on your way now?" Tinkerbell can see the panic in everyone's faces as she tries to quickly come up with an excuse. Snow gestures for Tink to stall. "Um…my apartment! Can you stop by my apartment and get my work clothes? My boss asked if I could take up a shift for tonight and I'm going to leave from here. There is a spare key in one of the potted plants that are next to my door," Tinkerbell said spontaneously. "Yeah, just call me back when you get in and I'll tell you which outfit. Okay, thanks." Tink hangs up the phone and Snow smiles with satisfaction. "I didn't know what else to say!" Tinkerbell uttered. Snow shook her head, "no, Tink, that was perfect! We've bought about thirty minutes. Alright, everyone! Let's get this done!"
The front door opens and in comes Robin. "Robin!" Snow uttered in excitement. "I thought Killian and Henry were going to pick you up?"
"No, my boss offered to drop me off to save the trouble. I let Killian and Henry know, they were adding the finishing touches to Emma's nursery when I called them." Robin hugs Snow and greets his guests. "Looks like I made it just in time! Let me go put up my things so Regina doesn't suspect a thing."
"We have to stop by Tink's and get some clothes for her. She has a shift later tonight." Regina said to Emma. "That's out of the ordinary," Emma uttered. "Yeah well, she's done a lot for me so I don't mind stopping by," Regina said. Emma rummages through her phone to call Killian. "I wonder what Killian is up to. I'm going to bother him for a bit." Emma dials his number, "Hey, what are you doing? Oh, okay, well I'll just talk to you later then. Love you." Emma shuts her phone, "he's driving to a site with his boss and can't talk," she said with slight disappointment. "Our boys work too hard, Emma. We need to do something for them," Regina uttered out of the blue. "Well, I'm gifting him with a daughter, I think that should be enough," Emma said. "No, Emma, I'm serious. They took these jobs because they wanted to and they knew they had to. They're coming home next week, we should send them something like a care package or something. Just to show them how much we love and miss them." Regina said as she was driving up to Tink's apartment.
"You're right, Regina. Killian didn't want to take this job, I had to convince him you know. I know he left with a little worry but him knowing I was staying with you eased it a little. That's the only reason I agreed to this arrangement."
"After we get these clothes for Tink, why don't we go to the store and get some stuff for their care package. Do you think you'll be able to handle it?" Regina asked.
"I don't see why not. I'm sure I can manage. I feel fine right now."
"Ok, well you stay here, while I go get her clothes, I don't want you climbing the stairs," Regina said. "Why?" Emma asked. "Emma, what did I just say, I don't want you climbing the stairs! Stay here!" Regina scolded. Emma opened the door and Regina closed her eyes in preparation for a quarrel, "Emma, shut the door," Emma unbuckles her seat belt, "Emma. Shut. The. Door!" Emma slowly emerges from the car forcing Regina out where she circles to Emma's side of the car. "Get your ass back in the car Emma!" Emma stares down Regina and snatches the car keys away from Regina, "fine," Emma huffed as she made her way to the driver seat. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Regina scolded as she followed Emma, "I want to drive back."
"Absolutely not!" Regina demanded. Emma got in the driver seat and locked the doors locking Regina out. "Emma Swan!" Regina gritted through her teeth as she tried to open the driver's side door. "Dammit, Emma! I swear as soon as you pop that kid out, I'm going to kick your ass…" Emma smiled as Regina walked up to Tinkerbell's apartment. She found the key and entered and headed straight to Tink's closet. She is rummaging about looking for some shirts that have Tink's work logo on it and grabs a couple. She grabs some black slacks and khakis for Tink to choose from and turns the closet light off. As Regina opens the door to head out of Tinkerbell's bedroom, she is unexpectedly greeted by Emma. " OH MY GOD!" Regina shouted. Emma chuckles, "I'm sorry but you were taking too long and I have to pee." Emma makes her way to the bathroom leaving Regina to catch her breath from the near heart attack Emma gave her. "I swear this baby is going to come sooner than expected. DAMMIT EMMA! I thought I told you to stay in the car!" Emma shouted from the closed bathroom door, "I took the elevator!" Regina grows curious, "there is an elevator?"
"Yeah, I didn't tell you because I knew you needed the exercise," Emma shouted. Regina closes her eyes and shakes her head, "I hate you, Emma! Thank God Tink lives on the second floor!"
Emma emerges from the bathroom and Regina gives Emma a playful punch on her arm. "Ow! What was that for?" Emma reacted as she grabbed her arm, "for scaring the hell out of me and not staying in the damn, car! Let's go!" They make their way toward the elevator and walk to the car.
"Give me the keys, Emma."
"But I want to drive back."
"Emma!"
"Ugh!" Emma huffed.
"I swear you're such a child!" Regina uttered.
"Can we go home, I'm a little tired. I'll go with you tomorrow to get the stuff for the guys."
"Are you feeling okay, Emma?"
"Yeah, I'm just tired."
"Okay, I'll call Tink and let her know we are on our way."
