Percy
"Excuse me." Percy left the table and walked toward the bathrooms. He leaned against the sink and looked into the mirror. A young Iranian face stared back, a black spot on his forehead. Percy gasped and splashed water on his face.
He looked up and the face was gone. Percy sighed and dried his hands and face.
He walked out of the bathroom and headed back to the bowling lane.
"How's he doing? He smiled at Annabeth.
"Terribly," she laughed. "He hasn't knocked down a single pin. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just went to the restroom."
Jason walked back. "Well, I hate bowling." He flopped down on his chair.
"Alright, wish me luck." Annabeth stood and walked toward the ball return.
"You can thank me later," Jason said.
"For what?"
"Making you look good."
Percy bit his tongue. "That's really not something I like talking about."
"I know, that's why I told her. Ladies love a hero. If she doesn't want to take you home now, then she's hopeless and you should probably give up."
Percy looked over at Annabeth. Jason continued.
"Honestly, you could probably have any other girl too. Or, just be like me. No attachments- it's honestly so much easier than trying to be in a relationship. With all the nagging and the eventual heartbreak."
Percy turned back to face Jason. "I'm not gonna do that."
"How come?"
"You know why."
Jason looks down. "Yeah. Yeah I know. You're a good guy man. She'll be lucky to have you."
"Well, for now it's just friends. And I'm okay with that. But dear god does she make me wanna—"
He stopped mid sentence.
Annabeth sat down next to him. "Alright, top my spare."
