Hey guys! Here is a new update. This time there is a new character named Matthew! He is meant to resemble Experion from MM, and so I thought Matthew was the best name for that! So here it is!

Skylar

"later that night we all got in our own beds and everyone else had fallen asleep. All I can think of is what if something happens to Oliver and Kaz. My head hurt and my breathing became shallow, so I got up and walked out the door heading towards the roof for some fresh air.

It took me a minute to find the hatch to the door. Once I did, I opened it to see a staircase leading on the roof.

As soon as I get up there, I see Uncle Dom and Aunt Peggy sitting on a bench talking. I turn around to try to sneak back down but they heard me. Aunt Peggy calls my name and motions me to come towards them.

When I reached the bench, Uncle Dom gave her a kiss on the cheek and gives me a hug before he says, "Have a nice night."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you." I say turning to Aunt Peggy.

"No, you didn't. We just come up here before he has to leave just to, you know… talk."

"I just came up here to think." I say

Aunt Peggy nods in understanding before motioning me to sit down next to her.

"Dom told me Kaz and Oliver are joining him tomorrow." She says.

"Yeah, but I don't want him too."

"Kaz can handle himself."

"It's not him I am worried about." I say as I look up at the stars.

"Oh, so it's Oliver you don't want to go. Well… he seems like a big strong boy; I don't think you have to worry about him." She says

"I just don't want anything to happen to him" I say

"That? Or you don't want to miss him?"

"Both? I don't know… I just." I say before taking a deep breath and turning my head to look at her.

"It sounds like you really love him"

"What? No, were just really great friends." I exclaim trying to convince myself more than her.

"That's exactly what your mom said about your dad."

"Really?" I ask curiously.

"Yeah, she was sure that nothing would happen… but one night they were sitting on the roof of our mom's house and she started dropping little hints that she liked him and he was doing the same but neither of them caught on to it for a while until one day your father finally asked her out. They started dating, then got married, and now you and Kaz are here." She said.

Then I heard the door to the roof open, so I turn to see…

Oliver

" I groggily open my eyes to see Dom shaking me awake, so I sit up alert and looked around to find that Skylar wasn't in her bed. I get up to and to go find her when Dom taps me on the shoulder and points up. After that he disappears around the corner, I walk into the hallway and see an open door with a dark staircase leading up.

As I start going up the stairs, I hear two females talking but didn't recognize the voices until I got closer and realized that it was Aunt Peggy and Skylar. I sat down towards the top of the steps to see if I could hear what they were talking about, but as soon as I leaned on what I thought was a wall I pushed the door open alerting them of my arrival. Aunt Peggy and Skylar both turned around to look at me.

"I'm going to leave you two to talk." Aunt Peggy said walking quickly past me and down the stairs.

"What's going on?" I ask sitting next to Skylar on a bench, looking up at the night sky.

"Nothing, it's nothing." Skylar answered.

"Are you ok?" I ask turning my head to look at her.

"Do you want to leave me?" She asks, looking at me.

"What? Of course not! I will never leave you, I told you that." I said.

"Then why are you going?" She asked as her voice cracked.

"To keep Kaz safe. We already talked about this." I say soothingly.

"But who is going to keep you safe?" She asked. Pausing for a second, I turned my head towards the sky and said, "I'll be fine"

"Please don't go." She says scooching closer and putting her head on my shoulder.

"What about Kaz? Do you want him going alone?" I asked

"Of course not." She said sitting up to look at me. "But he has Uncle Dom."

"And I will too!"

"But…"

"Listen." I say cutting her off. "I will be fine, I have Kaz and Dom. We are only going to be gone a few days. I have to go with them."

"I don't like you going." She says quietly.

"I know… but I'll be back before you know it." I reply.

We talked for a little while longer before she slid her hand in mine wrapping her fingers around as I did the same and leaned into my shoulder before we both fell asleep again.

Later, I woke up to talking beside us. I look over to see Kaz and Bree are having the same conversation that Skylar and I had earlier. I look down to see that they had given us a blanket, and then looked behind us to see a fire burning brightly.

"THE FIRE!" I yell, alerting Kaz and Bree that I was awake as Skylar sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked around.

"What about it?" Kaz asked calmly.

"Where is the water bucket?" I asked jumping up from the bench looking around for it.

"Right here, why?" Bree asked confused as she passed the bucket to me. I put out the fire and then stomped on the ashes till it stopped smoking.

"Now what did you do that for?" Kaz asked annoyed.

"If you make a fire at night like that, it's just making a sign saying 'Hey, we're over here.'" I said very annoyed.

"I didn't think of that." Kaz said guiltily.

"I know!" I say harshly before seeing a hurt look on his face "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. It's just… you've got to think like this now, we all do. Things have changed whether we like it or not, we have to change too."

"Your right man, I'm sorry" Kaz said as Skylar stood up and walked over to lean on my arm tiredly.

"It's ok, we just have to know and remember this stuff, especially when we go out there." I say before sighing. Letting go of my worries, I move Skylar and myself back to the bench to let her rest some more while I joined in on Kaz and Bree's conversation.

After a few minutes of talking there was a knock on the rooftop door. We all got up to see who it was knocking and when the door was opened there was a boy who looked about our age.

As soon as he stepped into the light Kaz shouted out 'Matthew' and embraced him in a big brotherly hug. I looked at Skylar and saw a flash of fear pass over her face before she smiled and went to greet Matthew. Who is this guy I wonder…?
