A/N: First day of school went pretty well. Just wanted to let you guys know that we have two more chapters left! Whoooooo! Thanks for everyone who followed and favorited the story!
wPeter woke up in another room very confused Where am I? He wondered. He realized that his eyes were still closed but refused to budge.
"We miss you Pete" He heard a voice say. He wanted to get up and tell the voice that he was ok, but nothing happened. Unconscious tugged at the corners of his 'awake' state.
The next time he woke up he heard even more voices around him.
"bullet…. poison..."
"Going to be ok?"
"no..."
"Hi..."
Lots of words but he couldn't connect the dots.
Peter woke up 3 weeks later.
Tony caught a ride on the quinjet Peter laying down next to him the entire way there. He wasn't moving and F.R.I.D.A.Y gave him updates. The avengers were hoping they wouldn't lose him at all or before they got him to the med bay.
"5 minutes out" F.R.I.D.A.Y informed them. Tony let out a breath of relief it was almost over. He checked the heart monitor again and saw it was slowing down.
"Are we losing him" he heard Natasha ask.
"I don't know" He responded gruffly. He watched the monitor closely as Peter's heart began to slow more and more. "c'mon Pete just a little while longer" He pleaded with the unconscious teen.
Thankfully Peter's heart made it in time and he was rushed straight into emergency surgery. It was, nerve wracking to say the least. The only Avenger allowed in was Bruce Banner and Stephen Strange.
Helen Cho, the normal doctor for good ol' Spiderman, was in there too. She was the Avengers favorite doctor for all of them. Whenever any of them got major injuries it was Helen who fixed them up. Even Steve with his accelerated healing needed her help sometimes. Dr. Strange the other doctor on the team just made everyone nervous. As he said though, humans are afraid of what they don't understand.
Tony sat in the waiting room for what felt like hours. There was a desk in the back for whatever reason. They were the only people ever in there. No one even sat there it was more for decoration to look more like a normal hospital. Sometimes Helen managed it, where she did most of the follow ups if there was more than one Avenger who was injured desks could be helpful. In front of the chairs-one for each Avenger-was a vending machine. All profits went to an actual hospital donation. It was Peter's idea. Then two double doors off to the side. Helen was the only one who could change who had authorization to the door.
"How is he" Steve asked. He actually looked concerned strange.
"Like I know. I'm just sitting here wondering something I already know" Tony said sarcastically readjusting his chin to rest back on his hand.
"I-" Steve began.
"If you're about to apologize I don't want to hear it." Tony said annoyed.
"That's- anyway. I was wondering how you are" Steve said sounding slightly defeated.
"Me? I just got kidnapped…again might I add. Then as if it the universe decided that wasn't enough decided to let my kid get shot in the shoulder." Tony paused. "with a poisonous bullet. So no I am not fine" Tony said angrily before storming away to recollect himself.
"Where is Rhodes?" Tony wondered to himself pacing in his lab. He should be here. Was he kidnapped with them? Honestly, he couldn't remember much. He remembered water. Just like back in- no tony don't go there. He told himself. To be honest it was quite the adventure. Not surprising though and definitely not the worst thing to ever happen to him.
"Tony" he heard the most beautiful voice say.
"pep?" Tony asked opening the door. There stood Pepper with her beautiful red locks falling down gracefully onto her tense shoulders. "I didn't think you would come?"
"Of course I would come. After all he's my son too" Pepper said with a small smile. "Now what are you doing in here? Come on up and we can discuss"
Tony, of course, knew not to decline the offer and followed behind her. "What might our conversation be about" Tony asked knowing full well what it was about.
"I think you know full well what it is about" Pepper repeated. "I've known you since you hired me. I think I know what your thought process is." She added taking in Tony's astonished look.
"The kidnapping?" Tony checked.
"no the party" Pepper said sarcastically.
"Apparently you also picked up my quips" Tony added proudly. Pepper simply rolled her eyes. However, right as she was about to begin her talk F.R.I.D.A.Y interrupted them.
"Sir? Peter is out of surgery and ready for visitors" F.R.I.D.A.Y notified them. Without a second thought the couple went to visit their son.
"dad" Peter groaned when the memories flooded back to him accompanied by the pain. He felt movement next to him and pried open his heavy eye lids to look.
"Peter?" A tired Tony said quietly.
"hey" Peter said giving his dad a smile but it came out as more of grimace. "How are you doing?"
"How am I doing" Tony scoffed getting a sense of Déjà vu. "You're the one whose recovering from a poisonous bullet in your shoulder"
"Sorry" Peter whispered. He tried to sit up more.
"What for kiddo" Tony said ruffling Peter's hair fondly before reaching over and getting more pillows.
"I just...I got you into this mess" Peter said guiltily.
"No you didn't underoos it was all theirs" Tony said disgustedly at the mention of Hydra.
"Thanks" Peter said knowing better than to argue with Tony over faults. He could feel bad for himself later.
"No problem kiddo."
"By the way how long was I out" Peter said searching for his phone.
"yeah that got smashed" Tony added matter-of-factly. "Also you've been out for about a month"
This shocked Peter more than anything. "What!" He yelled trying get up out of bed only resulting in falling over into Tony's waiting arms.
"Yeah buddy. Helen had to heal your shoulder with the cradle but before even that she had to remove the bullet and the poison. Your healing factor wasn't working against the poison." Tony explained getting his spiderling back into bed.
Peter was shocked. He could barely remember anything. He remembered the fight on the roof the hydra agents but after that nothing. "What happened"
"I'll you later" Tony reassured, really he just didn't want to talk about it. Yay! More PTSD to worry about. He watched the kids eyelids begin to droop. "Go to bed kid. I'll be here"
With that Peter closed his eyes and went to sleep once more.
A/N: One down one to go! Have an awesome Wednesday!
