A/N: The last chapter was too short. I felt like I had to upload more.

The next morning continued on as normal. Sabrina was back in her office pushing out the supernatural and getting on with normality. It was a strange way to live, dealing with vampires, werewolves and witches on day and attending review and project planning meeting the next.
It was a good few hours into the morning when her phone that was placed beside her coffee cup rang. Elena.
The last time Elena called it was because an oven bulb wouldn't turn on and Jenna had no idea how to fix it, now with Jenna away as first responder, the Gilbert House upkeep was passed onto her.
"Morning, Elena."
"Hey, Sabrina."
She heard a deep inhale from the girl at the other end of the line. "I don't know how you're going to take this but I felt it's the right thing to tell you."
"Okay." Sabrina didn't know where this was heading. Turning her attention away from the laptop she sat upright in her chair to listen attentively.
"I.." she hesitated. "I un-daggered, Elijah."
"Have you told Damon and Stefan?" That wasn't the response Elena predicted.
"I was about to but Elijah asked about you first." Elena expect and joyful reaction or worst case scenario, she expected Sabrina to yell at her for doing the thing Damon wouldn't let her do.
"And I assume he's with you now?"
"Yeah, he's right here."
"Can I speak with him?"
There was a shuffle and muffled voice on the other line for a few moments.
"Sabrina," the voice was calming, familiar and full of memories she wouldn't let go of.
"Elijah."
"I heard you attacked Damon out of anger the night I was daggered."
Knowing this was coming she thought she could stay calm. She did a good job at is so far but hearing his voice actually speak to her was a whole new experience.
"I'm sorry," a soft, quite whisper left her mouth.
"You have no reason to apologise." His voice was as soft spoken like she remembered.
"I've missed you."
"As have I."
Sabrina smiled. She could go on about everything she felt but she wanted to save it for when she physically saw him.
"Where is Elena taking you?"
"The Lockwood house. Care to join us?"
"I would love to." Her voice held a mix of emotion. Sadness from the memory of what happened and happiness, knowing his was back.
"Well then, I look forward to seeing you soon."
Sabrina put the phone down on her desk, reclining on her chair as her smile turned into a little giggle.
It was short lived as a knock on the door pulled her out of her thought.
She frowned. There were no appointments scheduled today to her knowledge. "Come in."
"Miss Hayden?" A man entered her office and closed the door.
Her heart started beating faster. She recognised him as the man who was stood in Alaric's apartment the night of the decade dance.
As he approached her desk she quickly stood up and walked around it in an attempt to get out the door. She didn't get very far before she fell to her knees holding her head in pain as she groaned.
"Klaus said you're a clever one."
She looked up as a muffled cry of pain escaped her mouth. She saw him with his hands out casting a spell. Sabrina tried her best to manoeuvre herself at get close to the coat rack. It took all the effort she had as Maddox kept going. Her attempt was futile as he caught on. The pain intensified to the point where she expected someone to come in from the scream. It only lasted a second or two before her body slumped onto the floor rendering her unconscious.

She was lying on something soft, that much she could tell. Propped up on her side was her guess as she could feel pressure building up on her arm. Any attempt to open her eyes made pain shoot though her head. In the background of all that was a dull ache. Sounds around her echoed. Without her eyes, her ears were the next best thing she had to figuring where she was.
"She put up a fight." Maddox's voice registered in her head.
"If you get hung up, call me. You know how impatient I get." The voice before implied it was Klaus imitating Alaric.
The ringing between voices suggested she was hearing the conversation in bits and pieces.
The sound of the door shutting hurt.
"So I'm basically babysitting." While it sounded like Elena, she knew it was Katherine.
The door closed again, the pounding pain remained.
Footsteps walked forward, followed by the sound of something hitting a wooden surface making the air smelt like coffee beans.
The sound was the ceramic base of the mug being placed on what she assumed was the tea table in front of the sofa.
"Come on, Sabrina." Katherine's voice was close. "If coffee doesn't do it I don't know what will."
The pounding in her head began to slowly subside. Her brain wanted her body to comply and grab the cup not far from her face. Eyes fluttered open as the image of stream rising for a mug came in sight all fuzzy and horizontal.
Moving the trapped arm from under her, she used the free arm to push herself up as in a groan.
Hand on head trying to sooth it, Sabrina sat up as her eyes focused on the double of Elena who stood beside the tea table with arms crossed.
"Finally."

Sabrina lowered both her feet the ground and grabbed the coffee.
"What happened?"
"Klaus wanted you here so he sent Maddox to get you. You've been out for 20 minutes." Katherine explained as she continued drinking the coffee.
"We thought Klaus might have killed you." She said putting the coffee back down.
"Well, that's too kind for Klaus," Katherine responded.
"You can't leave," Katherine began as Sabrina walked up and headed towards the door. "There's a spell stopping you from leaving," she said as Sabrina opened the door.
Holding her hand up she was met with an invisible barrier that stopped it from moving past the threshold of the door. She turned around to see Katherine sitting where she was moments ago.
"How are you okay with this?"
"I'm not dead. I don't interfere, I stay that way." She replied shrugging her shoulders.
"You think Klaus is going to just going to let you go once all this is over? You think you get brownie points for doing as he says?" she asked closing the door and walking towards Katherine.
"I'm doing what I have to do to survive."
"And how has that worked out for you in the last 500 years?" Sabrina questioned. "The people you love have died, you can't trust anyone and everyone eventually turns on you."
She was angry and upset for multiple reasons. Elijah was back and she couldn't see him, she was trapped in an apartment where her friend was playing body host to an original on a war path and she had no idea what she could do to change any of that.
The silence told her she went too far. She knew Katherine's history. It was a sad one that wasn't entirely her own fault, perhaps that's why the two got along unlike most of Sabrina's friends.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." She stood by the tea table.
"But it's the truth." Katherine got up and walked into the kitchen area.
"It doesn't mean I had to be a bitch about it."
Katherine leaned against the kitchen counter. She seemed to be analysing the girl who frowned at her.
"I can see what Elijah sees in you." Sabrina didn't quite register the tone it was said in but she was confused as to know Katherine would know.
"The Salvatore's talk." She seemed to have read her mind. "You actually went at him with a stake?"
"I was upset. Sue me."
"You complement each other well." This was something that was rarely seen in Katherine. Kindness. Sabrina hadn't even witnessed it and she as doubtful many others had too.
"You would know." while it may have sounded harsh her tone made up for the sincerity. "I'm sorry it was taken from you."
Katherine's face put on a sad smile.
