Reading pride and prejudgment in the clock tower and happy to be engrossed in my book. There was a storm outside, Having heard about the merlin scrolls that had been found in a cave in Wales, I was over the moon, Hanna not a much to her it wasn't that big of a deal. Hudson was watching T.V. Brooklyn and Lex was reading as well.

"The scrolls of Merlin are being taken to the Metropolitan Museum in New York for further study," Lex said. "Do you think the scrolls are ready written by Merlin?"

"Wouldn't that be incredible?" Mom asked.

"Yes it would be incredible," I added. "It means that King Arthur was real as well."

"Merlin, he was a wizard right?" Brooklyn asked. "Like the Magus."

"A white wizard in the fifth century, if you're interested in the library downstairs, is full of books about it," Goliath said.

"Why straight at marks on a page when you can rent the video," Broadway said landing next to me.

"They aren't marks and do you know how to read," Lex said pulling a book from the sleeping form of Bronx.

"You might not have found the right book," I added bookmarking my stop.

"Well, I can't read," Broadway said. "And I don't think I'm missing anything."

"Uh-huh, ignorance is bliss right Hudson?" Brooklyn asked.

"Let me out of this it's time for celebrity hockey come here Bronx," Hudson said.

Cue Bronx to come running and crash to a nap in front of the T.V.

"I've gotta go Matt and I are signed to the scrolls escort team," Mom said. "Evie I can trust you not to cause any chaos."

"Yes, Mom," I muttered

"What does the scroll contained?" Goliath asked.

"They are still sealed," Mom said heading out. "Rumor is they are filled with magic spells."

Mom gave me a kiss on the forehead and headed out, the look on Goliath meant that he was thinking that a certain someone would try to take the scrolls.

About ten minutes is when Goliath launched his thoughts.

"Evie you and Bronx will stay here and watch over the clock tower," Goliath said

"Goliath I don't think Xanatos is going to attack with a storm that it is," I said. "It would be hard for a plane to take off."

"We have to protect those scrolls from Xanatos," He growled.

"If you are going I'm coming with you," I said.

"You are not going out in this storm," Brooklyn said. "Evie if something happens to you we could not forgive ourselves."

"I'm not breakable," I said.

"Evie you are staying here end of the discussion," Goliath said.

They walked away, Brooklyn gave me a sad smile as they took. The Bronx gave a cry in protest.

"Thanks, Bronx," I said giving him a rub on the head. Heading down to the library to find another book. "I can't believe them. I'm not a breakable doll."

Walking in the darkened library, grabbing the flashlight that Mom had left for me. Strolling through the shelves. Looking for Jane Eyre. A giggle in the shadow stops me in mid-step. Streaking the light to where I had heard the giggle but not seeing anyone. Why didn't Bronx come down with me? Taking a breath and walked towards the giggle needing to find the source of the giggle. Blasting the light to the area but found nothing, pushing the fear down that was rising from my gut. More giggling sounded behind me, a shot of fear shoot up my spine. Grabbing a heavy book and turned to look back and could see a floating figure.

"What the hell?" I questioned dropping the book with a large thud that sounded through the darkened halls and places. Looking at the floating figure, I could feel the figure was watching me. Bronx's barking causes me to turn to see where Bronx was. Turning back to see the floating figure was gone. Fear was ranging through me, looking to the right to see I could see a Jane Eyre copy, grabbing it and ran back up.

I stay close to door if I needed to run, that floating figure was terrified, and Bronx was staying close to me which I appreciate it

"A beauty neither of fine colour nor long eyelash, nor penciled brow, but of meaning, of movement, of radiance." I read to Bronx, who seems to quite happy with my reading aloud. He barks happily at me, that fear of that floating figure would not leave my mind. Who or what was forming in my mind and wouldn't leave. Glancing that the steps that lead down to the library, fearful that the floating giggling would appear and if they did appear what would happen? Footsteps came up the stairs, fear started up in my gut and start to rise up like vomit up my throat. Standing up and looking for some kind of weapon. That is when Mom appeared. Taking a breath and relaxed, Bronx bark happy and ran to greet her.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah never better," I said.

"It's time to head home." She said.

"Okay," I said walking after her. "But what about the guys and the Scrolls?"

"Someone got them before we could get them to the MET." She said.

"What?" I asked stopping in mid-step. "Who took them?"

"Goliath thinks its Xanatos," She said.

"Even though I told that I don't think it could be him," I said. "I told him that the storm was too bad."

"You have to understand that Goliath hates Xanatos regardless that you told him to think differently," Mom said. "Or the fact that Xanatos is your birth, Father Evie."

"I just hope the guys and the scroll are going be okay," I said looking the clock tower as Mom drove off. "With this storm."

"They are going to be okay Evie." Mom said.

For the day at school, I was slightly on edge because I was worried about the guys and the scrolls and thankfully even Cross stop for the day.

"What's wrong?" Hanna asked at lunch.

"I just stressed out about stuff and the whole Xanatos thing," I muttered.

She placed a hand on my shoulder.

"It's going to be okay." She said.

"It also doesn't help that I keep having a nightmare of a floating gigging figure in my dreams," I said.

"Having you been watching Labyrinth too much again?" She asked.

"No," I muttered.

"Just relax and don't worry about it." She said.

Mom brought me back to the clock tower, the guys were already gone apart from Bronx who happily greeted us.

"They must have gone to get the scrolls and find Broadway and Hudson." Mom said petting Bronx.

"What?" I asked. "What happens to Broadway and Hudson?"

"The storm knocked Hudson into the water and Broadway disappeared on one of the planes that attacked." She said.

"You didn't think of telling me about this Mom?" I asked.

"We didn't want you to panic Evie." She said.

"Great job Mom," I said. "Now I've even more worried."

"It's going to be okay." She said.

I wanted to scream and shout at her back. I held my tongue, picking my battles. Mom left me up here with Bronx.

Reading Jane Eyre and lead against Bronx. He gave a large and happy bark, I shot up, Bronx bark and ran to greet them. Bookmarking my place to see everyone come in. Relaxing seeing both Broadway and Hudson among them.

"Welcome back Guys," I said.

"Hello Lass," Hudson said.

"I'm guessing you guys got the scrolls back?" I asked.

Goliath offered me a smile and held the scrolls in his hand.

"Evie it's a record of his life," Broadway said. "Macbeth stole them and held me hostage."

"What?" I asked rushing over to him. "Are you okay?" fusing over him.

"I'm okay Evie," He said. "But Macbeth made me realized that books are amazing."

Offered Hudson a large smile.

"That's great," I said. "I can help you learn if you would like."

"I would really like that Evie." He said.

Looking back at the others.

"So I guessing we should get the scrolls back to the MET," I said. "I can't wait to see the translating."

"I can read the texts as they are," Goliath said. "Perhaps before we return them. I could read them to you to all of you."

A large smirk came across my face.

"Please?" I asked.

He offered me a smile, and nod. For the rest of the night, Goliath read aloud the life of Merlin. Life was good.
