Chapter 18: Cosmos Part 1

Thousands of years ago, the world was in total Chaos. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are in armor and have teamed up with Queen Nova and other Royals to help defeat the threat.

Luna turns to her sister and asks, "Did you find him?"

"He'll turn up. He always does," Celestia answers, landing on the ground.

"If we don't get this under control now, we may not be able to reverse all the damage," Nova says.

Suddenly, someone says, "We have him."

The next moment, a feline and a stag tosses Discord to them, and has something wrapped in a blanket around his tail.

Discord sits up and rubs his horns, "Ow! Easy on the horns. And be careful with my tail! It has something important inside."

"Quiet! Do you have any idea how far you've gone?!" The deer king says.

"Discord. This isn't one of your mere annoyances. You're destroying the very fabric of our world. Stop this at once." Celestia angrily says.

"Celestia's right. Do not make this harder on you. At least do this for your child," Nova says.

Suddenly, the chaotic magic is starting to tear more into the fabric of reality even more.

"It's happening at a frantic rate… has he ever been this crazed before?" The feline king asks, shocked.

"Discord. Stop before more are injured," Luna panics.

Then Discord points up, "It isn't me doing this!"

Suddenly, a large claw lands to the ground, making everyone jump. Discord quickly grabs the blanket and holds it tight. When some of it is removed, it reveals a very young baby earth filly with white and light purple curled hair. She is fast asleep despite what is happening and is sucking on a green pacifier.

The owner of the claw says in a womanly voice. "Now, now, it's not nice to touch things that aren't yours. Return them to me."

"Who… what… are you?" Luna asks, stunned.

"You need to save me from her. Save my daughter from her, please," Discord begs.

Then Discord screams, "Get rid of her and this all goes back to normal, I swear. It will take all of us, even me."

"If we help you now. Will you turn yourself in?" Luna sternly asks.

Discord begs, "Yes. Anything you want. I'll swear off hunks for good. I'll clean the castle. I'll start a youth group. Just stop her!"

"We're running out of time!" The feline king cries out.

Soon, the fabric of reality is being torn by two claws and a mysterious figure comes out of it. At the same time, Celestia, Luna, Discord, and the other rulers begin to use their magic to stop the threat.

Suddenly, all the attacks hit the mysterious monster at once.

The creature begs, "NO! DISCORD! STOP THEM!"

"What was that, dear? I can't hear you over all the Chaos," Discord says.

The creature disappears as it screams, "NOOOOOOOOO!"

Discord then kneels down as he takes deep breaths. Soon, everything is beginning to change back to normal. Discord holds the baby in her arms and she is sleeping happily.

Discord hugs her happily and says, "I'm glad you're safe. My little Chaotic baby. You're safe."

"Discord!" Celestia sternly says.

Discord shushes her.

Celestia sees the baby sleeping and softly whispers, "Discord, you are to report to the palace at once, and we are going to have a very long, long, discussion over who that was and what just happened? Do not worry about the baby, I'll have Luna watch the baby in the meantime."

"Oh yes, about that…" Discord says.

And snaps his lion claw, making everyone fall asleep in a snap, literally.

"I can't let any of you remember this. Wake up and think it was me. There wasn't anyone else here. It was all me. And… you won't be able to remember my daughter either," Discord says, making a cake.

He finishes making it and says, "Goodbye Cosmos."

He then disappears, leaving a cake that reads, 'Sorry about the mess. XOXOX. Discord.'

Then Disappears before anyone can wake up.

In the present day, Cozy Glow along with her family are with Sun, and her friends, and Screwball, today. Of course, Pinkie is excited to see so many different antiques, souvenirs and other kinds of stuff.

Pinkie looks at one of the stands, "Can you believe ponies are selling this stuff? I'd keep it forever!"

"That's called 'hoarding,' and it's usually something only dragons do," Twilight says.

"Hey!" Spike says, feeling offended.

Then says, "You are not wrong, but still."

Cozy says, "Thanks for letting me and my family come."

"It's no trouble, Cozy. We're glad to have y'all along," Applejack says.

Sun then notices a see a lovely purple eight pointed star in a golden chain, "That's a neck necklace you got, Cozy."

"Thanks my mom got it for me," Cozy says.

"And it looks really cute on you,

Just then, Rarity walks over, "Sorry I'm Late! I stopped by a jewelry stall when I spotted this, and I simply had to have it!"

The group looks at the necklace and Sun says, "It looks a lot like Cozy Glow's."

"Really now?" Rarity replies.

Spike becomes interested, "It looks delicious!"

Rarity then pushes Spike away, "No. Bad dragon!"

"Spike, you can't eat it!" Screwball says, pulling Spike away.

Unknown to them the gem glows and lets out a strange smoke.

A soft motherly voice says, "Screwy."

Screwball becomes confused and looks around for the voice, but no one is here.

Twilight looks at the stone, "It's very pretty, Rarity. What kind of stone is that?"

"I have no idea… I just like the luster of it. It's got a lovely shine, and the setting…" Rarity says.

Pinkie happily says, "I like that it's purple! It's almost pink!"

Rarity looks at the necklace and then looks at Twilight.

Then Rarity removes the necklace and says, "You know, Twilight, seeing it next to you, I really do think it's much more your style, dear."

"Really?" Twilight asks.

"Why with all your purple it was practically made for you!" Rarity says, and places it around Twilight's neck.

"Oh… thank you?" Twilight replies, looking at a bot complex.

Suddenly, Twilight begins to feel strange when the necklace is placed around her neck. And Soon, Cozy Glow's necklace begins to do the same.

"Twilight? Are you alright? Do you not like the necklace?" Rarity asks.

"It's not that…" Twilight says.

Suddenly, Twilight and Cozy Glow's eyes begin to glow a strange pink color.

Then they a voice saying, "Fiiiind the Resssst!."

"Twilight? Twilight?" Rarity asks.

"Cozy Glow, are you alright?" Rose Glow asks, concerned.

Then Twilight shakes her head and looks at the necklace, "I think we need to call a meeting. Can you go gather everypony else."

"I'm on it," Spike salutes.

Sometime later, Twilight calls the girls to the castle, Cozy Glow, her family, and Screwball are there as well. Twilight explains to the girls about what has happened. What's more, Cozy Glow experienced the same thing.

"So. none of you hear a voice when you put on that necklace?" Twilight asks.

"Nope," Applejack answers.

"Let me see," Rainbow says.

Then puts on the necklace.

Soon, Rainbow begins to feel something, "Wait… I'm getting something."

"Yes. What do you hear?" Twilight asks.

"That you are an overworked Egghead and hearing things and you should take…" Rainbow says.

She fake gasps and says, "A break."

"Har de har har," Twilight sternly says, taking back the necklace.

"Then how do you explain Cozy Glow heard that voice and she isn't wearing the same necklace," Sun says.

"That's true," Cozy Glow replies.

Applejack suggests, "Put it on again, Twilight. Tell us exactly what you hear."

"I don't think she should put on the necklace again if it's going to talk to her, that seems… unwise…" Fluttershy says, concern.

"I wore it for almost 20 minutes before I gave it to Twilight and I'm fine. It's just jewelry," Rarity says.

"You know, I have a solution that will make this whole situation go away…" Spike says.

But Sun sternly says, "You're not going to eat it, Spike."

"Yeah. You'll just get sick," Cozy Glow says.

Both Twilight and Cozy Glow wear the necklace and their eyes turn pink as they hear the voice saying the same thing over and over again.

Cozy Glow says, "The voice keep saying, 'Find the rest'"

"It just keeps saying it over and over," Twilight says.

"Find the rest?" Sun says, confused.

"Of what?" Screwball asks, confused.

Suddenly, both of the necklace glow and blast out a beam of light. Soon, a map of space begins to appear above the room. Then it shows an eight star picture that looks like a heart.

"Neat!" Pinkie says.

"What… what is that?" Rainbow asks.

"Surely somepony that spends so much time in the clouds knows what the stars look like," Applejack says.

Twilight squints her eyes, and says, "I know these stars…"

Suddenly, Twilight happily says, "The Andalusian! It's a series of stars that just showed up in the night sky one day ages ago, centuries ago! Star charts everywhere had to be changed… it's the biggest astrological anomaly ever!"

"Riveting," Rainbow replies.

Twilight quickly runs to the shelf and uses her horn to bring down a scroll, "Then one day, the whole constellation went dark.

Twilight then brings out the pictures of the eight pointed star.

"These necklaces… these points on the map… they're stars," Twilight happily says.

Twilight says, "Rarity, Blossom Glow, by finding these necklaces you may have stumbled upon a clue to solving the biggest cosmic mystery of all time!"

"Well I do have excellent taste in jewelry and adventure," Rarity says.

"So what I'm getting out of this is that I can't eat it?" Spike mutters.

"Sorry Spike," Twilight says.

Spike sighs and begins to eat some emeralds in a box.

Rainbow looks at the map and asks, "So… what do we do? Just find all these things and fling them back into the sky?"

"Seems simple enough… I mean, we have a map telling us where to look," Applejack says.

"And the flinging them back to the sky part?" Rainbow asks.

"Well, I can kick mighty hard…" Applejack says.

Sun giggles, "Applejack, even you can't kick that high.

"I think it's a nice break from our normal series of events… no monsters or creatures trying to take over the world. A scavenger hunt for stars sounds like a wonderful save adventure," Fluttershy says.

Cozy Glow happily says walking to Twilight says, "It sounds cool. Think of how much excitement we're going to have."

"Yeah. It sounds cool," Screwball says.

"And think of the research opportunities! We can find out what the magical qualities of the stars are, what make them fall where they came from in the first place… we can learn all the things!" Twilight says, excited.

Rarity says, "Twilight, dear, you're getting that weird look on your face like when you're about to write one of your long…"

"Boring…" Rainbow says, rolling her eyes.

But Rarity says, "Academic papers. Do we need to have the talk about time management and the importance of sleep again? This can't be the Everfree Forest mythical fog management report all over again."

"The what?" Sun says, confused.

Twilight and Cozy Glow aren't paying attention.

They both mutters, "Find the rest… yes… We'll find the rest."

"We should leave now and find the rest," Twilight eagerly says.

Screwball walks over and asks, "Hey guys, you feeling okay?"

Twilight and Cozy Glow shake their heads.

Cozy says, "I think so."

"Yes, just excited with the thought of discovery and all that. You know how I get," Twilight says.

"Yes, we do know how you get… that's why we're going to help you. Otherwise you'd take off solo around Equestria looking for every purple bauble and driving you nuts," Applejack says.

"So… we have two of eight! Should we all just head out in one big group to comb the countryside? Do I need to bring my giant comb? I have a giant comb," Pinkie says. Then brings out the big comb.

Screwball then happily says, "Oh. I have one too!"

Then Screwball makes her comb appear.

Sun rolls her eyes, "Should have known."

"Why do you have that?" Rainbow asks.

"Where did you have that?" Applejack asks.

"Have you seen my mane? This much bounce takes work!" Pinkie says, combing her mane, Screwball does too.

"You know I have the most wonderful conditioner for that," Rarity says.

"Conditioner? What's that? I wash my hair with frosting," Pinkie says, holding out the frosting.

"You put frosting in your mane," Fluttershy asks, confused.

Sun sticks her tongue out, "Gross!"

"Sounds awesome," Screwball happily says.

"Really? Is that why you always smell like vanilla?" Rarity asks, stunned and disgusted.

Twilight calmly says, "Ah-hem? Can we please get back to me? I mean… the task at hoof? Fallen stars should be taken precedence over mane care."

"There's never an issue more important than mane maintenance and up keeper, dear… except maybe hooficures. You can hide your mane under a hat on a bad day, you can't hide a chipped hoof as easily. Then you have to get into shoe choices and…" Rarity says.

Twilight crosses her arms and sternly says, "Rarity."

"Come on, ponies, let's go rally up some troops. I think it'll be best if we all team up and split up. Let's go see who in town is up for an adventure. We'll meet back here in a bit, okay, Twilight?" Applejack says.

"Sounds like a plan!" Twilight says.

"I'll go make more teacakes!" Spike says.

"I'll keep. I know this yummy pancake recipe daddy made," Screwball says.

Suddenly Twilight's eyes glow and she happily says, "Whatever you like sweetie."

"Sweetie?" Spike says, confused.

Pinkie hops with glee, "Oh! I'm going to ask Mayor Mare, and Trixie, and Starlight Glimmer, and Big Mac, and Scootaloo, and Nurse Red Heart, and Maud, and Minty, and Bittersweet, and Cheerliee and Mrs. Cake and Cranky Doodle and Sew-and So…"

"Pinkie. It's not a party guest list!" Rainbow says annoyed.

"I know that. If I were making a guest list. I would write everypony. And I'd' be putting up streamers, do you see steamers?" Pinkie replies.

The girls then head out to go find some help, and Cozy Glow and her family head off to find her friends to see if they can help.

"Want to team up Fluttershy?" Applejack asks.

"Oh, no thank you. I have someone in mind already. He needs something like this to set up structure in his life. It'll be good for him," Fluttershy says.

Sun giggles, "Will that someone have the D in the first and last letter of his name and love Chaos?"

"Yes." Fluttershy says.

"Then I'll come with you," Sun says.

"Thank you," Fluttershy says.

Then she and Fluttershy head off.

Rarity turns to Twilight, "Are you coming?"

"No… no. I think I'll stay here and draw up a game plan for everypony? Planning for faraway destination travel is kind of a strength of mine. Train schedules and whatnot…" Twilight answers.

"If you're sure you're alright… then we'll leave you to it! Be back in a bit," Rarity says.

"Yes. Goodbye," Twilight says.

Spike reaches out for the necklace, "Well, you won't need this for a bit. Can I at least smell it until they get back? Maybe lick it? I promise I won't get it."

"Spike…" Screwball is about to say.

But Twilight's eyes glow pink and become very angry, No! Do not touch it!"

She panics and says, "I mean, no… this gem has a link to all the other stars. I should keep it safe. Maybe it will reveal more clues? I should wear it for Academic purposes."

"Fair enough. I wouldn't trust me either," Spike says, shrugging his shoulders.

Then Spike walks off.

Screwball says, "Well, I'm going to help Spike out. You want anything to eat or drink."

"No sweetheart. Not right now. You just help Spike prepare some tea cakes and drinks and I'll have some then," Twilight says with a motherly smile.

Then gives Screwball a kiss on her forehead.

Confused, Screwball says, "Okay. I'll see you later."

Screwball then leaves the room to follow Spike to the kitchen.

When she's alone, Twilight's becomes sinister and her eyes glow.

Her voice changes to a different female voice and says, "At last, after all this time, somepony powerful enough for me to embody has found me. And a princess no less. How delightfully fortunate."

She then sees a photo of Twilight with all her friends, including Sun and Regana, the Crusaders, Discord and Screwball, and Sandbar, Cozy Glow, and the others.

She softly smiles and says, "And someone who sees my little Screwy. She is just as sweet and fun as I remember. I will need every piece of my magic back so I can get back to you and your father… my baby Screwball."

Then grows sinister, "Are you ready Discord, my dear? Bit by bit, I'm coming home to you and our little girl."
