New York Skyscraper
Its been a month after the giant radiation robot incident back at North-South Korean border. Ben has made couple of contacts between the Unisquad, the League, the Titans, even the TMNT. More importantly, Ben managed to asked Kara for a date. Kara could barely contain the excitement, that Ben is finally asking her out.
Ben was on a patrol in a New York skyscraper. Then Superman approaches Ben. He felt nervous
Ben: Hey Clark. What's up? (asking nervously)
Superman: I heard you asked Kara on a date (in a very serious mode)
Ben nodded, then Superman float towards Ben a little bit closer to him
Superman: You know, I've always been very protective to my cousin and my family; she's my only blood-relative I've left. I want nothing what's best for her.
Ben nodded, trying to act calm, but he could feel the sweat dripping down his neck. Then Superman place his hand to Ben's shoulder
Superman: But I believe you're a good man Ben. So I don't have any problem with you dating Kara. I'm happy for you.
Ben nodded, having a sign of relief. Superman was about the fly off, but then stopped and turned around to Ben's direction again.
Superman: Oh, Ben, one more thing.
Ben: Yeah?
Superman: If you break my cousin's heart, (he warned Ben in a dangerous tone) not even Batman will find what's left of you.
Ben paled considerably, then Superman flew away. Ben's is more determined not to break Kara's heart.
Smallville, Kent's Farmhouse, Kara's Bedroom
Meanwhile, Kara decided called her best friend, Barbara for the news.
Barbara (on a phone call): Hey Kara. What's up?
Kara (on a phone call): Ow my gosh Babs. You're not gonna believe what just happened...
Barbara (on a phone call): I fight evil clowns and monsters Kara. What's not to believe?
Kara is taking a deep breath at a phone call
Kara (on a phone call): Its Ben. He's finally asking me out!
Barbara (on a phone call): OWW MY GOSH! Its so exiting! I'm so happy for you two!
Kara (on a phone call): I know right?! Can't wait for Saturday.
Barbara (on a phone call): I hope you're happy with your date! Good night!
New York Skyscraper
After Superman left Ben, it was his turn to tell the news to Rook. Ben is texting Rook about the news.
Ben (typing on text): Dude! R U there?
Rook (typing on text): Yeah. What's up?
Ben (typing on text): I've got a date coming
Rook (typing on text): WOW! Congratz Ben! So happy 4 U!
Ben (typing on text): Thx
Rook (typing on text): Hold on. Got a vid call from the team...
Ben turned on the video call
Rover (from video call): Ben's got a girlfriend! MUAH MUAH MAUH (trying to tease Ben)
Zog (from video call): You've grown up so fast!
Kasha (from video call): Well done... I salute you
Big Barda (from video call): Huzzahhh!
Hal Jordan (from video call): Can't wait when Superman hear this
Ben: Dude. He already know
Rover (from video call): AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Don't forget to kiss...
Ben: I can't take any more of this (while groan)
Ben ends the video call; can't take on Rover's teasing, but understandably tolerant to Rover's teasing, since Ben also did tease Rover years ago, back when he was with the Unisquad.
New York, Murakami's Apartment
It was Saturday evening at Mr. Murakami's apartment . Ben was preparing himself for the date with Kara. He was nervous because this is his first ever date. Back at space with Unisquad, Ben hardly have any interest with any women until he met Kara on Earth. Then Mr. Murakami came close to Ben.
Mr. Murakami: Don't worry Ben, you'll be fine...
Mr. Murakami try to calm Ben down. Even though he's blind, Mr. Murakami can felt his nervousness on Ben. Then a doorbell rang. Ben quickly opens the door, its was Kara in her civilian clothes; a light blue skirt above her knees, a white shirt, with a red and black jacket. Realizing she's not wearing make-up; in Ben's opinion, she doesn't need it. While Ben is wearing his wearing a dark blue leather jacket with a black shirt and a blue jeans.
The two started each other at the moment, then Ben cleared his throat.
Ben: So, ready to go?
Kara: Sure.
Ben and Kara went to the garage and open the door, they spotted a green sports car with black highlights
Kara: (while giving a low whistle) Where did you get this? And how did you afford it?
Ben: To answer your question: I got few weeks ago, and I can afford it thanks to my "inheritance".
New York City, Statue of Liberty
Both of them are getting in the car. They drove to a cinema where they watch an action-comedy movie; which they both enjoyed. Then Ben drove to a restaurant, which is a good place. They mostly discuss about various topics, Ben's jokes, and League-topics. And finally Ben drove to the Statue of Liberty, where they're going to enjoy the view. But once they got there, they realized the tour to the Statue of Liberty is closed.
Ben: Sorry about that. Maybe we could-
Kara: No biggie. We can still get up there.
Making sure no one's looking at them, Kara pick up Ben up and flew to the top of the Liberty Statue, which is "the torch" that is lifting up the statue.
For a while, the two stay quite and enjoying the view, watching the sun goes down. Kara put leaning on Ben's shoulders, while Ben is wrap an arm around her. Both were lost their thoughts.
Finally, Ben and Kara have their first kiss together.
Ben: Come on. Let's get you home.
Kara: How are you going to get me from New York to Smallville?
Ben: I've got a motherbox at my car
Kara: Nice!
Smallville, outside Kent's Farmhouse
A few minutes later, a boom tube was opened somewhere near the road of Kent's farmhouse. It was Ben's car driving through the boom tube to send Kara back home. Then Ben walked towards the Kent's farmhouse with Kara. They held hand-to-hand to the front door.
Ben: Did you have a good time?
Kara: Yeah. Thanks to you (answered it with a smile)
Kara give Ben a quick kiss on the cheek. Then her face start to become serious.
Kara: Ben. I think we need to lay down some ground rules before anything happens.
Ben: Like what? (Ben started to be curious)
Kara: First, you've seen how protective Clark is, right?
Ben nod his head, then Kara continued
Kara: As long as I lived in the Kent farmhouse, I've got to tell Clark, Ma, and Pa about our plans on our date.
Ben: Yeah, sure. Let the Kents know. No problem
Kara: Second, I don't think we should be too, uhmmm, "affectionate" while at the Watchtower or at the Hall of Justice. We should we keep things as professional while we're working.
Ben: Got it. We're teammates when doing this hero gig. Not couples.
Kara smiled with relieved
Kara: Glad you understand, Ben.
Ben smiled back to Kara
Ben: Well that's what you want, who am I to deny you?
Kara: Don't push it, tiger (while answering it with a smile).
Kara gave Ben another quick kiss on the lips
Kara: See you at the Watchtower?
Ben: Wouldn't miss it.
Kara finally went back home and finally Ben back to his and open a boom tube using the mother box, then drove through the boom tube back to New York.
