Chapter Twenty-One: Shatter the Mirror

JustAnotherFanGirl2004: I doubt Kyle is ever going to enjoy studying! And I'm glad the shadow is getting you more and more interesting.

This is the first chapter of the dragon games. I don't think it'll be that different than the actual episode, though.

A few days after the last chapter, Amanda, Lizzie, Maddie, Apple, and Darling were sitting at the foot of a staircase at the school. They watched as Raven walked over to them.

"Guys!" she exclaimed in a panic. "I need to go! You-know-who is gonna have an epic meltdown if I'm late!"

"Go ahead!" Apple called. "We'll handle it!"

Raven gave them a grateful look and hurried off.

"Stay away from the glass!" Darling called from behind her. She turned and nodded. A moment later she saw Amanda and Apple trying to get the billy goats out of some jam. She wondered what Amanda's power was. Unlike the other demigods, she hadn't shown it yet.

Raven pushed that to the back of her mind and kept going.

Raven entered the headmaster's office and nodded to him.

"Miss Queen," he greeted her. "Sign here. And remember, stay away from-"

"The glass. I know!" Raven said with a nervous laugh.

The headmaster pushed a button, and the large bookcase slipped to the side, relieving a secret passage. Raven walked in, nervously toying with the purple flower ring on her finger. It was a gift from Dexter, and touching it made her feel better.

She walked down the hall. Despite being a secret passage, it was sunny and would be a nice place if it wasn't for the staircase ominously leading to a double door at the end of a hall.

Raven took a deep breath and walked up to the door. She opened it and stared straight into a dragon eye. The dragon roared, lighting the room up with fire.

"Nevermore!" Raven exclaimed happily. The large dragon turned into a young baby and she walked up, hugging it. "Who's a good dragon?" she cooed. "Don't worry, I can handle mom," she said, getting up and continuing up the dark spiral staircase. Nevermore followed her.

Raven reached the top and entered a dark room filled with cobwebs where the only source of light came from a small window at the top. The room had a few boxes in it, and - pressed against a wall - a large mirror.

Raven walked up to the mirror as a woman appeared in it.

"Raven!" the woman said in delight.

"Hi mom," Raven said, waving.

"I've been waiting forever after! How do I look?"

"You look fine Mom," Raven said, rolling her eyes.

"How's school?"

Raven perked up at the question. "School's great, actually. The demigods are a big help. They're showing us all that our differences don't matter, and they have super cool stories."

"I don't mean that. Have you been a bad girl?"

"Well, I-"

"I know you've been using your powers for good," the Evil Queen said in a thunderous voice. "Helping others! Where did I go wrong?"

Raven rolled her eyes. "Things have changed, Mom!" she argued. "It's not like back when you went to school here! We can choose our own destiny!"

"I know one thing hasn't changed...It's better to be feared than forgotten."

"It's true mom, everybody fears you," Raven said in a bored voice.

"Thank you," the Evil Queen said smugly. "Get me out of here, and I'll show you the way. We'll rule side-by-side. We'll take over Ever After High, together! It'll be a great bonding experience. Like...shopping! Only, world domination!"

"Take over the school?" Raven said, turning away from the mirror. "Why would I want to hurt my friends? Don't you get it? I never want to be like you! I want to choose my own happily ever after!" Raven's voice became disoriented and her eyes glowed purple as purple fire erupted from her hands. The fire exploded and shot all around the room.

"Let out that aggression! Go on!" the Evil Queen egged her on. "Hit the glass, Raven!"

Raven turned towards her, but Nevermore jumped in front of the daughter of the Evil Queen. All the fight drained out of her and she turned back to normal.

"Nevermore!" the Evil Queen screamed. Scared by her anger, Nevermore turned into a baby and ran straight into a bucket of paint.

"Nice try mom," Raven said, picking up Nevermore. "You want me to break the mirror. You're not getting out that easily."

The Evil Queen chuckled. "Can't blame an Evil Queen for trying."

They were interrupted by a cough from behind them. "Visiting hours are over!" Headmaster Grimm said.

Raven nodded and left, still carrying Nevermore. The Headmaster went after her.

"Oh, I'll find a way to break this mirror," the Evil Queen said to herself. "And then Ever After will be facing a lot worse than seven years of bad luck." She laughed evilly.

Raven slammed her locker. Behind her, Nevermore screeched. "Yeah," she haid, petting her. "Mom can be pretty intense."

"Hey Raven!" Poppy said as she and Holly walked over.

"Hey guys," Raven said.

"How was visiting day?" Poppy asked.

Before Raven could answer, Holly spotted Nevermore and said, "Aww...what happened to you, girl?" she cooed, taking in Nevermore's very painty appearance.

"Don't ask," Raven said.

"Someone sure needs a bath," Poppy said, petting Nevermore.

"My mom really spooked Nevermore - she wound up with a bit of a messy makeover," Raven said with a laugh.

"We can groom Nevermore for you," Holly said.

"Sounds like a job for Holly and Poppy!" said Poppy.

"The O'Hair twins!" Holly said and the girls smiled.

A white limo pulled up in front of a beautiful castle. And out stepped...Snow White!

"How's my enchanted tape collection selling?" she asked. One of the dwarves showed her a chart and she said, "Excellent. My daughter will live comfortably Ever After. By the way, how is Apple doing in school?" A dwarf showed her another chart and she nodded. "Straight A's! Perfect. What about socially? How are her ratings?" She gasped when she saw the chart. "Apple's popularity is down? And who is...Raven Queen is up?! This is fairy, fairy bad news! Set up a video call to my daughter."

While they were talking, the dwarf and Snow White had entered the elevator in her castle, and now it pinged open. "I need to talk to her," Snow White said, getting out.

Apple sat at her desk, reading the book Eve had lent her. Her mirrorpad pinged and she accepted the call.

"Once upon a hi, Mom!" she said cheerfully.

"Apple, I am fairy concerned about you," Snow White said. "There's no easy way to say this, Apple-pie, but your popularity is down 13%!"

"It's Raven!" Apple said. "Everyone loves her now that she's using her powers for good!"

"Apple!" Snow White exclaimed. "You need to remind the world of our fairytale! Maybe try to gently nudge Raven towards evil?"

Apple gasped. "I-I wouldn't do that!"

"Remember, she's still her mother's daughter. And so are you. So ask yourself, how badly do you want our happily ever after?"

"Mom, you know how much I heart our family tradition! But Raven-"

"Sometimes destiny needs a push, my sweet," Snow Whiet said. "I'll see what I can do from here to give you a boost."

"I'll think about it Mom," She ended the call and sighed.

The door opened and she turned around, smiling. "Hi Raven."

"Hi Apple," Raven said glumly.

"So, how was seeing your mom? Are you feeling any evil-er?"

"What? No! Um, maybe? I don't know." She groaned. "My mom makes me want to scream sometimes."

"That's good, that's good! Maybe scream and then...blow something up with dark magic!"

Raven smiled knowingly. "Sounds like I'm not the only princess who got an earful from her mom today. So...how's she doing?"

"She's worrying I'm not following in her fairytale footsteps," Apple said, sitting down next to Raven.

"That's the one thing your mom and my mom can agree on," Raven said as Apple nodded.

That night, Apple was lying in bed, playing a game on her mirrorpad. She sighed and turned the pad off, heading to the mirror.

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Why is life so unfairest after all?" she asked, not knowing that the Evil Queen was listening on the other side.

"I spy doubt," the Evil Queen said. "And doubt makes room for the worm to get into the apple."

With a wave of her hand, she made an apple appear and float out of the mirror.

"What?" Apple said, and followed the apple. It led her to the same room that Raven had stood in that every day, talking to her mother. The apple stopped, and Apple grabbed it.

"You poor thing...tell me your troubles" a voice said from the mirror. Apple gasped as the Evil Queen appeared.

"I can't talk to you," she said.

"Oh Apple, we have so much more in common than you know," the Evil Queen said.

"What-what do you want?" Apple said.

"The same thing you want!" the Evil Queen said. "I could help you, you know. I can restore things to the good old ways, steer Raven on her course of evil so you get your happily ever after. But I can't do it from inside the mirror."

"Even if I trusted you, I can't let you out of the mirror - that would be wrong," Apple said, turning away.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I thought maybe you were like your mother!" she said. "When her time came, your mother embraced her fairytale destiny. She did whatever it took."

"I am not afraid," Apple said, turning around. "I will do whatever it takes and I am like my mother! And my destiny is mine!" Angrily, she threw the apple at the mirror. What she didn't expect was that when the apple hit the mirror, the glass flew, and purple smoke bellowed. And out of the wreckage...stepped the Evil Queen - free.

"Years in a mirror prison without a single reflective surface to to gaze at myself upon...now that's torture," the Evil Queen said, picking up the apple.

"I'm sorry. I need to go. I-I you're good right? Bad?" Apple said nervously. "I-I can't help you."

"Too late," the Evil Queen said with a laugh. "Do you want your friends or your mother to know you released the Evil Queen?"

"You can't just walk into school and talk to Raven!" Apple argued. "What happens when someone recognizes you? I'll get in trouble and-"

"Good point," The Evil Queen interrupted her. "I'll need to reinvent my look to blend in with today's teens. Let's make some magic."

The Evil Queen chanted a spell, and a moment later purple fire spread over her body. When it left, she looked nothing like before - she had light brown skin and long red hair. The only thing that hadn't changed was her eyes - they stayed the same violet.

"I'll need a name," she said, and even her voice had changed. "How about Mira? Mira Shards?"

"You're a teenager," Apple said, thunderstruck.

"Ready my new best friend forever after?" "Mira" said, pulling Apple into a one-armed hug. "Time to go back to high school. Let's do this!"

Poppy and Holly sat in the stables, trying to clean Nevermore.

"Wow, Poppy, this paint is hard to get off," Holly said.

"Tell me about it, Holly," Poppy said, standing up to dip her towel in the bucket of polish. "And we're almost out of scale polish."

She accidentally kicked the bucket, and it splashed in Nevermore's face. Shocked, the dragon reared up and flew around the barn, breaking some roof beams, throwing paint on Holly, destroying some other things, and nearly setting Poppy on fire.

"Bad dragon! Sit!" Poppy said commandingly.

"Poppy, we're gonna need some kind of armor if we're gonna stay in the dragon grooming biz," Holly said.

"Tell me about it," her sister said with a laugh.

Darling, Cerise, and Izzy sat at a table in the castleteria.

"Hey guys!" Apple said, coming up to them. "I want you to meet the new girl - my old friend, Mira."

"What's down?" Mira said.

"Up. What's up," Apple hissed to her.

"Uh, what's up, new friends?"

"Well, technically the only thing that's 'up' is the roof. As for down - the ground," Izzy said, causing Cerise to snort.

"I'm Darling Charming," Darling said. "This is Cerise Hood and Izzy Hall. How do your guys know each other?"

"Neighbors," Apple said the same moment Mira said, "Camp."

"Yeah, we went to neighboring camps," Mira said and Apple nodded.

"What school did you-" Izzy started.

"I was homeschooled," Mira interrupted.

"Oh, hello. Welcome to Ever After High," a voice said from behind them. The girls turned to see Ashlynn, Raven, Lizzie, and Amanda.

Ashlynn introduced them and said, "Love your outfit."

"You look wicked," Raven said with a smile.

"You're Raven Queen," Mira said. "You're like a spellebrity! Daughter of the greatest villain in fairytale history!"

"Who, my mom?" Raven said with a laugh. "Yeah, she's a real queen...a drama queen."

Amanda and Darling laughed and Holly and Poppy came in.

"Well, what do you think?" Poppy said, motioning to Nevermore, who was with them. "All cleaned up."

"Nevermore!" Raven said happily, running over to her dragon. "She looks very-"

"Bow-dacious!" Holly said, tapping the big pink bow on Nevermore's head.

"Wow Raven, your dragon is so cute," Mira said.

The moment Nevermore saw Mira she screeched and went crazy - turning huge and flying all over the castleteria, setting it on fire before flying out a window.

"Raven Queen!" Headmaster Grimm yelled. "What is your animal doing in the castleteria?"

"I'm sorry Headmaster Grimm! It won't happen again," Raven said. Izzy looked at Mira with a thoughtful expression.

"Hey Raven, are you okay?" Mira said, catching up to Raven in the hallway.

"Yeah, I don't know what's gotten into Nevermore. She doesn't normally spook like that!" Raven said.

"That was unfairest of Grimm to bust you like that," Mira said. "Why didn't you blame Holly and Poppy? They're the ones who brought a dragon into the castleteria."

"Uh, that's not what friends do," Raven said, frowning. The bell rang. "Well, I better get to science and sorcery class."

"Actually, I'm in that class," Mira said. "Maybe you could show me the ropes."

"Sure! Let's go," Raven said.

"Here are your generally villainary exam results," Professor Badwolf said. "Room for improvement, Miss Queen."

Raven sighed.

"Cast a spell on the teacher and get straight A's," Mira suggested. "That's what I did in school."

"I thought you were homeschooled," Raven said.

Before Mira could answer, Professor Badwolf appeared. "Talking in class, hmm? Encouraging cheating? Raven, stick with this new girl. You can learn a thing or two."

"Candy cane pole vault!" Coach Gingerbreadman said. "This old Gingerbreadman is about to show you how to take the cake." He started forward, but Mira waved her hand and his candy cane turned long enough to make him fall in the basketball hoop.

"Raven Queen! Was that you?!"

"No sir! But I kind of wish it was," Raven said, whispering the last sentence. Behind her, Izzy frowned.

Cerise and Darling walked over to Raven, Apple, Izzy, and Mira were sitting. They were about to sit down when Mira slammed a hand on the seats next to her.

"We were saving these seats, sorry," she said. Darling and Cerise groaned and walked off, and Izzy raised an eyebrow. Apple felt beads of sweat gather on her forehead. She heard Raven scold Mira, but wasn't listening. When the Evil Queen devised this plan, she hadn't thought about Izzy. The daughter of Athena was too smart - she was bound to figure it out soon. Apple didn't know what to do.

She zoned back in when Mira said, "Right Apple?"

Not knowing what she was asking, Apple just said, "I suppose there's truth in that."

"Raven," Poppy said as she and Holly appeared - looking a bit worse for the wear. "Um, don't freak out, but we were trying this new scale polish on Nevermore and well...she took off."

"We set up a grooming station in the old dragon stables behind the school," Holly said. "That's the last place we saw her. We though maybe if you call her..."

"Maybe she's just hiding somewhere and would come out," Poppy finished. "We're sorry."

"Thanks for getting me. Let's go!" Raven said.

Izzy stopped her. "Wait - let's get Amanda. She spends a third of a year in the Underworld - so she knows a lot about dragons."

Raven nodded and they explained the situation to the daughter of Hades, who was more than willing to help.

"Nevermore!" Raven called. "Nevermore where are you?"

"Wow! The old dragongames arena," Apple said, looking around in amazement.

"Dragongames sound wicked!" Mira said enthusiastically. "Have you ever played, Raven? You have a dragon."

"I know. But dragongames was my mom's thing and I really don't want to be like her," Raven said. She turned away, and didn't see the look of sadness that crossed Mira's face.

"Why did Headmaster Grimm close the dragon center down?" Apple wondered aloud.

"You mean you don't know?" Holly said, taking out her mirrorpad.

Apple shook her head and Holly explained.

"Dragongames can be very dangerous. They say Snow White and the Evil Queen were the greatest dragongame captains Ever After."

They were wicked competitive with their destinies and all," Poppy broke in.

"Did you know Legend is the last dragon from the original brood?" Holly said.

"Too bad you guys will never get to ride a dragon," Amanda said. "It's pretty awesome."

They stared at her.

"You've done it before?" Mira asked.

"Of course. We have tons of dragons born in the Underworld, and a lot of them go to Olympus, where dragonriding is a big sport. I actually have a dragon - her name's Amethyst," Amanda said.

"Don't you have two more dragons Amethyst's age?" Izzy asked. "Emerald and Celestite?"

Amanda nodded. "But Amethyst is my favorite."

They were interrupted by a dragon roar from the stables.

"Nevermore!" Raven said, racing towards the sound.

"Wait! That's not-" Amanda started, but they were already gone. "A baby dragon cry," she finished, but followed anyway as they ran into the stables.

To her surprise, Nevermore popped out of the hay and greeted Raven happily. But a moment later they saw the dragon who had roared.

"Something is wrong with Legend," Daring said, petting his dragon's head.

Amanda raced forward, and said, "Body temperature is really high."

"Does that mean he's really sick?" Daring asked.

"I got news for you Daring - Legend isn't a he. She's a she," Amanda's eyes sparkled. "And she's anything but sick. I think it's time!"

The girls all gasped and cooed, but Daring was confused.

"Ahem," Mira said, making a motion as though she was rocking a baby with her hands.

"Oh," he said, then started panicking. "How do we know the eggs get out all right?"

"Relax," Amanda said calmly. "I've done this millions of times."

"Daughter of Hades," Izzy said in answer to Daring's questioning look. "They have a ton of dragons in the Underworld."

About half an hour later, the girls stood around the dragon eggs.

"Dragonpedia says, 'In the wild, mothers lay eggs near active volcanoes to warm them until they hatch."

"Raven can cast a spell to keep the eggs warm," Amanda suggested. "But, fair warning, it takes years for them to hatch."

"Dragon babies must be so cute!" Poppy cooed.

"Aww, I can't wait that long!" Apple said.

"Raven," Amanda said. The girls all moved away, and fire erupted from Raven's hands and surrounded the eggs. Behind them, Mira said to herself, "This spell could use a power-up." She put one hand to the ground, and fire the same color as Raven's burst forward, making the flames around the eggs jump three feet higher.

"I must have overdone it!" Raven said, racing up and grabbing the fire extinguisher. She sprayed it at the eggs, and when the white mist cleared away they could see that about half the eggs were fine - while the other half were dark.

"Raven, look! Those lighter eggs are hatching," Apple said.

They all watched mesmerised as adorable baby dragons popped out of the eggs. Everyone except Amanda, that was. She quickly picked up the darker eggs and put them in a stable - locking the door.

"Amanda!" Apple said, but a moment later they understood her actions. The dark eggs hatched and - instead of jumping around cutely like the others - the baby dragons growled and tried to set the barn of fire. Amanda sprayed the fire extinguisher at them, and they stopped.

"Bad dragons!" she said, before turning around and explaining. "If it gets too hot, they turn-"

"Evil!" Apple finished. "Raven, are you trying to make evil dragons?"

"What have I done?" Raven said. Behind her, Mira smiled. But her smile faded away when Amanda said.

"Don't worry Raven - I've seen this happen before. In the Underworld we have to use magic to heat up the eggs. It happened with the litter Amethyst was in. The daughter of Apollo doing it accidentally overdid it a little. Amethyst's egg came out like that and she was born 'evil,' while Emerald and Celestite were fine. Now, Amethyst is one of the best dragons ever - despite how she was born." Amanda shrugged. "Just give them lots of love and kindness - but discipline - and they'll be fine. But I would keep them in there for now. I remember Amethyst sort of burned down the place she was born in. But as soon as they're one day old, free them and start their training. It'll be fine. And you have me to help."

Raven smiled at AManda. "Good. Thank you."

"This is Blondie Locks reporting live from the dragon stables at Ever After High - where dragons once again room the hallowed halls," Blondie said as Cedar scanned the mirrorpad across the room. "It appears the students at Ever After High are eager to adopt these pesky pets. Although the trend seems to be that the dragon chooses you! And, lucky for them, we even have our own dragon expert." She motioned to Amanda, who was sitting cross-legged on the floor, petting one of the dark dragons and holding another. In the past two days, she'd managed to already tame two of them.

Izzy walked up to Apple.

"Apple, can I talk to you?" she said.

"Of course!" Apple exclaimed as Izzy led her outside.

"Why. Did. You. Free. Her." Izzy said, glaring at Apple.

"What do you mean?" Apple said innocently.

"I know Mira Shards is the Evil Queen. I know you freed her. Why Apple?"

"It was an accident! She tricked me! And how did you find out?"

"It's obvious. For one, Nevermore totally freaked when she met 'Mira' - which is exactly what she does around the Evil Queen. Two, she's encouraging Raven to be bad - just like her mother. Three, she's so disappointed and sad whenever Raven criticizes her mother. Four, her magic is the same color as Raven's, and I read that the color of a person's magic is something they inherit. Five, I was looking at some pictures of the Evil Queen last night when I was researching the dragongames, and she and 'Mira' have the same eye color! Eye color doesn't change when a person changes their appearance, because 'eyes are the windows to the soul.' Plus a million other little things."

"Please don't tell anyone!" Apple begged. Izzy bit her lip.

"Three days. You have three days to tell everyone or else I expose the Evil Queen. I know it was an accident on your part, so I'll keep your secret. But you have three days." With those words, Izzy walked inside the barn again.

Outside, Blondie showed Mira riding Nevermore while Raven watched. "Who will be the next champion of dragonsport? Only time will tell!" she said.

In Snow White's office, she watched this. "Why you wicked old thing," she said, taking off her glasses. "Welcome back. Summon the architects! I've just had the fairest idea of all! This should get Apple back on top, and freshen my pure-as-snow image too!"

The students of Ever After High were all in the auditorium.

"What is with the sudden assembly?" Mira asked.

"It's top secret - no one knows," Raven said with a shrug.

"I heard there's a special guest!" Blondie said, poking her head over their shoulders.

"Ooh, this is hexciting!" Apple said.

They were interrupted when Headmaster Grimm arrived on stage and started speaking.

"It is my honor," he said, "to welcome back our most successful graduate, our beloved queen - Snow White!"

He bowed and moved out of the way as the curtains parted for a second so Snow White could appear. Everyone clapped and cheered - or nearly everyone. Mira scowled, Apple looked confused, and the demigods exchanged eye rolls.

"What is she up to?" Apple whispered to Mira.

Snow White giggled. "A little bird told me that dragons have returned to my beloved alma mater. So it's time we restored the good old ways. Today the dragongames are reinstated at Ever After High!"

This time, everyone except Apple and Mira cheered.

"The dragongames are tough, yet elegant," Snow White continued. "And I want my Ever After riders dressed accordingly." As she spoke, the curtain moved aside to show a giant screen and some stairs leading to a platform in front of it. "I've hired the creative team of Lizzie Hearts and Ashlynn Ella to design all new dragon wear. With the help of Amanda February, who has ridden dragons before." Lizzie, Amanda, and Ashlynn walked on stage and waved. And Poppy and Holly walked down the steps - dressed in the new outfits.

Poppy had a black vest with a dark purple shirt underneath. The vest had a collar with gems on it and a silver belt. She had silver leggings and black boots. She also had two long silver bracelets that doubled as armor. Holly had a sparkly hot pink tank top with a gold chain belt around her waist. She had dark purple leggings and gold boots, and bracelets like Poppy's - except golden. Her hair was tied back in a long braid. Ashlynn and Lizzie had originally wanted heeled boots, fabric hanging off the waist, and more jewelry - but Amanda shot that down, saying that dragonriding was hard and dangerous, and that heeled boots would make it much worse, and jewelry would weigh the riders down. And the fabric trains would easily catch on fire or get caught on something - which would be a mess.

"These looks are lightweight, flexible, and fashion forward," Lizzie explained.

"Not to mention fireproof, ice-proof and explosion- resistant," Ashlynn continued.

Hunter brought Brushfire and Princess of Scales out to demonstrate, and the crowd oohed and ahhed when they saw Poppy and Holly's clothes deflect the fire and ice.

"Adorable," Snow White said. "Now, I can't very well bring back dragonriding in an old dilapidated arena. If you'll all follow me outside."

When they arrived, Snow White said, "Allow me to present the new Ever After High dragon center!"

Everyone clapped as they looked around at the amazing arena.

"Hold your applause, please," Snow said, as she walked up to a podium. "I must admit, this was not my idea. My daughter, Apple, thought bringing back the dragongames would unite everyone in school spirit!"

Apple's eyes widened, but she fixed on a smile and walked up to her mother.

"Wow! Mom...Why didn't you tell me about all this? Why did you say it was my idea when it wasn't?" Apple hissed.

"Oh, you're welcome my little Apple dumpling," Snow White said.

She turned back to the students. "Now, any questions?"

Amanda raised her hand immediately and Snow said, "Amanda, right?"

Amanda nodded and said, "Dragonriding is my favorite sport - we do it all the time on Olympus. I was wondering if I could call my dragon - Amethyst - here and join one of the teams. She's like Nevermore, and can change her size so she can be a baby dragon."

Snow smiled. "I'm so glad you're enthusiastic about this! Apple, since it's your idea, what do you say?"

"I- of course," Apple said before turning back to her mom. "Mom, why did you say this was my idea? That's a lie."

"Apple, we discussed this. Sometimes you have to pull out all the stops and use your resources to get your fairytale back on track."

Apple looked down. "Woah. Mira was right - we are different."

"Who?" Snow asked.

"Me!" Mira said loudly from the crowd. "And you can't always just buy popularity, Snow."

"Miss Shards!" the headmaster scolded. "Mind your manners!"

" 'Mira Shards.' Very clever," Snow White laughed. "Rumor has it you're an excellent dragon rider - for a new kid on the block."

"The rumor's true," Mira said.

"Only you're not a student. You might've been once, when we were in school. I'd know those violet eyes anywhere."

Mira glared at Snow, unfazed. "I just wanted to be closer to my daughter," she said. "You can understand that."

"Daughter?" Raven whispered to herself.

"And to be young again, maybe?" Snow White said with a laugh.

"You'd have done it too if you could," Mira said defensively. "So I suppose now you're going to send me back to that awful mirror prison?"

Raven gasped loudly - all the pieces falling together. "Mom!" she yelled, shocked.

"Mira" turned around and smiled at Raven. "Sorry birdy." Purple fire swirled around her. When it disappeared, her disguise was gone. "Guilty as charged," the Evil Queen said.

"Yay! The Evil Queen's here," Maddie said, throwing her hands in the air. "Said no one ever!" she finished, glaring at the Evil Queen.

So yeah. I know it was nearly exactly like the actual episode, but there weren't many places to fit the demigods in.

-Creator of Magic
