Chapter 26 – It begins

Warden James sat in his office looking stressed out. He is currently looking through piles of documents on his desk concerning news about the organization he works for. It has been at least four days hearing the news the Melissa got challenged by her sister Ashley for Magi Prime leadership. If things could not be stressful enough there is a complaint that a box from the storage room was opened.

Suddenly a knocking sound is heard from the door causing the middle age man reply, "Come in", while putting away the documents in drawer and moves his hand under the desk pressing a red button causing the doors to open.

From the doors a young guard runs in and stops a few feet in front of James. The guard stands up straight followed by a salute.

"What do you want soldier? Don't you see my hands are tied right now!?" James complains looking annoyed.

The Guard however looks nervous as if he saw a ghost yet keeping his saluting position and says, "It is about the Dragons sir."

"What do you mean?" James perks up demanding to know what is going on with the dragons.

"I believe it is best that I show you"

"So what exactly are you trying to show me?" James demands while following the guard along the metal hall. The two stop right by a large window. The guard walks up to the control panel and presses a button.

"Look at this sir." The guard tells him as the window opens up slowly.

While the window opens, James could see through the window spotting a Hugh gathering of dragons huddled up. At the center of it all is Thor sitting on his hind legs speaking to the crowd of dragons in front as is he is…giving a speech?

"What in God's name?" James gets a bit spooked out at the sight of a dragon acting like a human all the sudden. From the distance, Thor stops and looks up to his direction making him disperse the dragon crowd back to themselves as if he is hiding something.

The way the hybrid dragon looks at him with narrowed eyes, frowned brows made James suspicious. What is even scarier is that the dragon knows he is watching him. "What are you up to dragon?" James speaks in soft yet aggressive tone.

Back in the Mandrake manor, Ashley is getting prepared for the trial. Taking all the documents she could collect and places them into her briefcase.

"You actually challenged your sister!" Edward calls out standing right by the door of the office.

Ashley stops for the moment to face Edward and says, "My sister has gone too far! She knew what is going on with the Serums!"

Ashley turns back to collect more documents.

"So you are saying that the serums are turning us into dragons and your sister knew!?" Edwards speaks up looking very surprised.

"Correct and yes she did try to find a cure in case you ask but let's just say she gave up on it! Which is why I am going to take leadership and when I do I am going to…"

Ashley gets interrupted by a phone ringing in the living room getting their attention. The two run down the stair case all the way to the ringing phone. Ashley and Edward give each other one worried look than Ashley grabs the phone to answer.

"Hello, whos this?" She asks.

"Is this vice President Ashley?" the caller asks.

"Yes this is she? What is going on?"

"Thank God! I am one of the guards of Habitat 0 and It's about your dragon!"

The caller, the guard in the phone blurs out in a rapid pace making Ashley gasp in worry.

(Habitat 0, Last Night)

Night fall arrived. As usual, the Dragons are told to head to their cages. This time however, the dragons were behaved. From the same watch room, James observes all the dragons trotting into their cages. Looking back into the habitat he sees that Thor is sitting in the habitat alone, looking up right at him with a glare.

Using a walkie-talkie James speaks into it, "Warden to announcer, we got a lone dragon disobeying over."

Inside the habitat, the announcer tries to convince Thor to head to his cage by saying, "To any dragon still inside, get to your cage now!"

Thor just sat there looking mad not making a move. The announcer speaks again, "Last warning, any dragon trying to be a wise guy you better head to your cage NOW!"

Thor still did not move.

From the watch room, the announcer speaks to James to the Walkie-Talkie, "Warden, looks like we got ourselves a wise guy."

With frustration growl, James tells the announcer that he'll deal with the dragon and leaves the room.

Inside the habitat room, James enter with a shock baton in hand. He looks around to see the dragons in the cages are looking at him and Thor who stood looking at him with the glare.

Turning his attention to Thor, James flicks his shock baton making sparks. In response, Thor makes a threating growl at him.

"Being tough guy are ya? I believe you are supposed to get into your cage as orderd!" James thrusts his baton shocking the dragon.

Thor makes a growling roar stumbling back on his four. He thrust face giving James a threating snarl showing all his sharp teeth. Still not complying, James makes another jab with his baton at Thor which only gets the larger dragon angrier.

"You deaf big guy? Might as well beat you to death!" James makes another swing only for Thor to dodge it this time. Confused, James makes another swing but Thor dodges it again.

While James tries to hit Thor, the dragons are all looking at them with worried faces. All the guards, seeing the James might be in danger begin to grab their sleep guns incase things go wrong.

Swing after swing, James is starting to get pissed. The semi-giant dragon is somehow smart enough to know about his weapon.

"I AM THROUGH TOYING WITH YOU!" James makes one more swing only for Thor to catch it with his fore claw by his arm. James tries to break Thor's grip while Thor, with superior strength starts to turn his arm upward with growl.

Thor begins to lift up James who in turn struggles to break the dragon's grasp.

Sitting on his hind legs, Thor lifts up his body, slowly spreading his wings the dragon looks like he is going to dominate the human opponent in front. While James struggle, Thor looks around to see a device he could use to open up all the cages.

"Take you slimy claw off me you fat, stupid, over-sized LIZARD!" James threatens the big dragon.

Thor, the hybrid dragon who is sick and tired of seeing all the humans torture him and all the other dragon. In pure rage he finally shouts, "NOOOOOO!"

James, the human guards, and all the dragons were in shock. James however begins to feel his heart beat race beat fast. A creature, thought to be a feral creature spoke in human tongue.

In response, Thor unleashes his plasma bolt at the human, blasting James all the way to the wall. The device he saw earlier feel off grabbing it. With James's baton on one claw, Thor thrust the rod up and shouts "NOOO" again with pride making the dragons go wild as it their savior has arisin.

"NOOO, NOOO" Thor chants again and again and presses the button opening not just the cages but all the doors present in the facility make sirens.

The noise of the sirens alerted all the fifty guards to scramble with weapons hoping to put down the dragons who are trying to escape. The dragons, who are now as smart as Thor used covering tatics to hide away from gun fire by the gaurds. From cover the dragons use their fire breaths to take care of any guard that tries to get into their way.

Thor, after taking care of James runs out of the habitat all the way to the main lobby chamber where he sees his fellow dragons fighting off the armed human guards with their fire breaths in cover. He helps out by using his large wings to swoop in to flank the humans to use his own fire breath to take out the guards.

One guard tries to attack Thor only for the guard to get sneak attacked by Fenrir who pounces at him and eats him. Another guard who is wounded, flown onto a wall where an emergancy phone is located. Desperate to get help, he struggles to get up, grabs the phone and types up a number he remembers. Specicifly he is calling the Vice President as he watches the big dragon Thor taking a few breaths to see all his fellow dragons are still ok.

Looking at the main doors, Thor sees a control console. He flies to it as the remaining dragons from the habitat begin to fly into the center of the lobby. With the doors opening Thor commands all the dragons to follow.

With that, Thor and all the dragons of Habitat 0 to fly out of the Alaskan wilderness for their next target. Magi Prime HQ to free the remainder of their fellow dragons. Leaving the only surviving guard trying to make his call before it is too late.
